Severe Tornado Warning Issued In Oklahoma via CNN Shawnee, Oklahoma (CNN) — A tornado was on the ground near Oklahoma City on Monday afternoon, moving toward populated areas. The National Weather Service issued a rare tornado emergency for the Oklahoma City metropolitan area, meaning that significant and widespread damage and fatalities are likely. Video from CNN affiliates showed a funnel cloud stretching from the sky to the ground, kicking up debris. More than 171,000 people could be in the path of the storm. The severe weather comes after tornadoes and powerful storms ripped through Oklahoma and the Midwest earlier Monday and on Sunday. Forecasters had warned that the destructive weather, which killed at least two people, wasn’t over. “Today could be potentially as dangerous as yesterday,” CNN meteorologist Indra Petersons said Monday morning, pointing to a wide swath of the country spanning from Texas to Michigan. “We’re talking about 500,000 square miles under the gun for severe weather.” Story still developing…
These emergency workers thought they were just coming to put out a fire…SMH Chicago Firefighters Find Badly Burned Body In Dumpster Firefighters who responded to reports of a blazing dumpster fire burning in Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood made a gruesome discovery after putting out the flames. via Chicago Tribune Firefighters found a body burned beyond recognition after extinguishing a dumpster fire in the Northwest Side’s Logan Square neighborhood Sunday night, authorities said. The fire was reported about 11:05 p.m., Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said. After putting out the blaze, which broke out in a dumpster in the 3100 block of North Kimball Avenue, authorities found a body but were unable to determine the victim’s age, sex or race. Those details remained unknown as of 5 a.m. this morning, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. An autopsy is scheduled for today. According to Raw Story: French police were on Sunday questioning a 48-year-old divorced Briton arrested on suspicion of slitting the throats of his two young children, judicial officials said. The bodies of the two children aged five and 10 were discovered on Saturday afternoon in his apartment in Saint-Priest, a southeastern suburb of the central city of Lyon. He was arrested and placed in custody in the evening. A judicial source said a knife which is thought to have been the murder weapon had been found. The source said the man had visitation rights but only in the presence of another person, adding that this was the first time he brought the children home to his apartment. Several witnesses said the man fled on roller skates after his former wife encountered him on the stairwell of the building and saw him with bloodstained clothes. She immediately alerted the police. Ahmed Benguedda, a former neighbour of the couple, told AFP the couple had divorced “two or three years ago” and that the man had drinking problems and was a wife beater. The wife moved out of the apartment after the divorce and was living in the Isere region of eastern France. But the children were “well-balanced”, said Benguedda, whose seven-year-old daughter often played with them. SMH. R.I.P. to those chuldren and we hope this fawk rots in prison.

Damn… Kansas City Teen Dies In Texting While Driving Crash On First Solo Drive Via DailyMail A 16-year-old girl was killed during her first drive alone when she veered in front of an oncoming tractor trailer while she sent a text. State troopers say Savannah Nash of Harrisonville, Missouri, was killed instantly when her PT Cruiser collided with an oncoming semi just two blocks from her home on Thursday. The crash was in fact so close to home that one of her neighbors reported hearing the horrific impact as both vehicles collided. Her parents told police that Savannah had gone out to get items for their family dinner that night. She had only received her driver’s license less than a week ago and was for the first time allowed by her parents to go out on the road alone. ‘There was a text message that was on her phone, however it was not sent yet,’ Sgt. Bill Lowe of the Missouri State Highway Patrol told Fox4KC. ‘That is a probable contributing circumstance to the crash. That’s all part of the investigation.’ At 4.10pm State troopers say the teen pulled out onto Missouri Highway 7 but failed to yield to the oncoming truck traveling at high speeds. An aerial view of the scene shows her vehicle slammed from the driver’s side across the median before coming to rest on the edge of the highway’s opposing lanes. Savannah’s classmates posted sad condolences on Facebook: ‘We will miss your beautiful smile, your laugh and your amazing attitude. Damn. 23 Males Die In South Africa From Circumcision According to Raw Story South African police said Friday they had launched a series of murder inquiries after 23 males died while undergoing circumcision during traditional rites of passage into manhood. The 23 — aged between 13 and 21 — died in various places across the country’s northeastern Mpumalanga province over the course of a week. “We have opened 22 cases of murder and one of inquest,” regional police spokesman Leonard Hlathi told AFP. One of the deaths was labelled “inquest” because the boy reportedly had an existing health condition. There have been no arrests yet as police compile statements and await post-mortem results. Ritual circumcision is common among South Africa’s ethnic Xhosa, Sotho and Ndebele ethnic groups. Deaths at so-called initiation schools in South Africa are common, with several hundred cases recorded in recent years due to bleeding and infections. Boys spend around a month in secluded bush or mountains areas for the sessions that also include lessons on the virtues of masculine courage and discipline. There are usually two circumcision seasons – in winter during the months of May through July and in summer between November and December. Government and the ruling African National Congress Party have expressed concern at the deaths which have nonetheless sparked little public outrage. Government spokeswoman Phumla Williams called on the initiation schools “to ensure that precautionary health measures are exercised during this period to minimise illnesses and death.” Minister in The Presidency for Performance Monitoring and Evaluation, Collins Chabane said he was saddened by the loss of young lives. The “loss of several young lives in Mpumalanga and elsewhere in the country is regrettable,” Chabane said this week. Man Sets Neighbor’s Yard On Fire According to Fox Atlanta Authorities say a man who allegedly set a neighbor’s yard on fire in Cartersville on Wednesday has turned himself in to authorities in North Carolina. Cartersville police say 58-year-old Phillip Roger Bennett is a suspect in an arson that occurred on Boatner Avenue in Cartersville. Police said that Bennett had been involved in an apparent feud with Marty Corbitt, who lives across the street from Bennett. Corbitt said that he’s lived at the home about four years and had gotten along with Bennett until last week. Corbitt said that Bennett starting complaining about the length of his grass. “My grass is too tall for him. I was going to cut it today when he set it on fire,” Corbitt said. Corbitt said that he was watching cartoons with his 3-year-old daughter, Kylie, when Bennett came over with two gas cans and a lighter. “And then he grabs the gas can, starts pouring it into the kitchen. As he’s pouring, he takes his lighter and lights it. Flames were everywhere,” Corbitt said. As flames erupted around him, Corbitt grabbed his daughter and got out of the burning home that belonged to his grandmother. Corbitt said he lost everything in the fire. His daughter was most worried about losing her tricycle, but within hours, some neighbors went out and bought her a new one. Police called Bennett armed and dangerous, and said he has an extensive criminal history, including serving time for aggravated assault and voluntary manslaughter. The 58-year-old turned himself in to U.S. Marshals on Thursday morning in Murphy, North Carolina. The Marshals were able to make contact with Bennett by phone, and they talked him into surrendering, according to Cartersville police. Bennett was taken to the county jail in Murphy, N.C., and will be transported back to Cartersville as soon as possible. Bennett faces charges of arson and aggravated assault. Dad Fatally Shot In Park According to C And G News What prompted the May 5 fatal shooting of a 24-year-old Clinton Township man was not clear at press time, but what is for sure is that the man was fatally shot in the chest on the basketball court at Clinton Township’s Prince Drewry Park. According to one longtime family friend of the deceased, the alleged shooter and victim believed to be involved in the incident used to be friends. “They were going back and forth about an incident that had occurred last year,” said Yolanda McCoy, a longtime family friend of the decedent’s mother. “They started out as friends.” McCoy, a Roseville resident, said she did not know the specifics of the argument, but said she had known both men as children. Clinton Township investigators allege that Terry Lamont Wilson Jr., 20, of Clinton Township, shot Willie Dion Clark, 24, of Clinton Township, once in the chest around 6:50 p.m. on the park’s basketball court. Prince Drewry Park is located next to Robbie Hall Parker Elementary School on Quinn Road, east of Gratiot. Clinton Township Det. Capt. Richard Maierle said his department and U.S. Marshals Service tracked Wilson down and, with assistance from the Battle Creek police, arrested him around 8:45 p.m. May 8 at a housing complex in Battle Creek, where he was staying with a cousin. Wilson was denied bond during a May 9 arraignment in 41-B District Court, according to the court. A preliminary examination is scheduled for May 22. Two others were arrested for harboring a fugitive, Maierle said. Maierle said police interviews revealed varying accounts as to what ultimately prompted the shooting. But whatever the case, an argument reportedly ensued that evening and Wilson allegedly shot Clark once in the chest before fleeing the scene. After the shooting, Clark’s brothers took him to McLaren Macomb hospital in Mount Clemens, where he was pronounced dead on arrival, Maierle said. There were reportedly about 20 to 30 other people in the park at the time, including Clark’s 2-year-old child and two brothers. Clark was one of 10 children, McCoy said. McCoy said the 24-year-old Clark had lived his entire life in the neighborhood surrounding the Quinn Road park, even attending Robbie Hall Parker during his elementary school days, she said. Clark had two children, ages 5 and 2, she added. The evening following the shooting, on May 6, friends and family held a candlelight vigil for Clark at the park. Wayne County Circuit Court records show that Wilson was released from a two-year probation term in July 2012 for a 2010 charge of breaking and entering a vehicle, with damage to the vehicle. Wilson already had one warrant out at the time of the shooting for an alleged probation violation, Maierle said. This is first shooting-related death in Clinton Township since December 2011, when a 23-year-old Highland Park man was lured to an apartment complex and shot in a robbery gone wrong. WABC-TV reported on Wednesday that an arrest warrant has been issued for Caleb Lawrence McGillvary, or, “Kai the Hatchet Wielding Hitchhiker,” as he became known online, in connection with the death of 73-year-old Joseph Galfy, Jr. Galfy, an attorney, was found dead in his home in Clark on May 13, 2013. An autopsy revealed that he died due to blunt force trauma. McGillvary shot to national prominence after giving an interview describing his involvement in a Feb. 1 assault against a California public utilities worker. At the time, McGillvary was hitching a ride with the suspect in that case, a 54-year-old man who allegedly claimed he was the reincarnation of Jesus Christ, and subsequently testified against him in court. According to the New Jersey Star-Ledger, McGillvary wrote a Facebook post on Tuesday suggesting he had been assaulted and drugged. “What would you do if you woke up with a groggy head, metallic taste in your mouth, in a strangers house,” he said in the post. “Walked to the mirror and seen … dripping from the side of your face from your mouth, and started wretching, realizing that someone had drugged, raped, and (had sex with you)? what would you do?” Authorities said McGillvary, who relies on strangers for transport, food and lodging, has cut his hair to change his appearance and was last seen at a light rail station near Haddonfield, New Jersey. A federal grand jury indicted 28-year-old John Andrew Welden on Tuesday. Prosecutors say Welden forged the doctor’s signature on a prescription for Cytotec, relabeled a pill bottle as “Amoxicillin” and told the woman his father wanted her to take the antibiotic. The Tampa Bay Times reports incident occurred in March after an ultrasound at Dr. Stephen Ward Welden’s office confirmed the pregnancy. The doctor is not accused of a crime. “I was never going to do anything but go full term with it, and he didn’t want me to,” explained Remee Lee, 26, Welden’s now ex-girlfriend, told WPTV.com. Not only did he scam his girl into unknowingly terminating her pregnancy, he dragged his father into the middle of his shady scheme too! What a douchebag. SMH!
