Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon took a vacation this week to the most romantic city on the planet, and the famous couple made the most of it: They renewed their vows in Paris! With the Eiffel Tower in the background and with Cannon donning a white tuxedo and Mariah in a similar-colored gown, Cannon got down on one knee once again and professed his love for his lovely wife. It’s not the first time the pair has renewed its vows, either. With Rev. Al Sharpton officiating, Carey and Cannon did so last year in the hospital where twins Moroccan and Monroe were born. Speaking of those adorable tykes: They turn one on Monday!

President Barack Obama appeared on NBC’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon early this morning, taking part in the show’s running bit called “slow jamming the news.” If you haven’t seen it, the segment’s name speaks for itself. In front of a live college audience at the University of North Carolina, Obama talked about student loans while Fallon’s house band the Roots jammed on a slow, sensual R&B beat, making the topic seem sexier than you ever thought possible: Obama on Jimmy Fallon With the rhythmic tunes accompanying him, Obama said, “What we said is simple: Now is not the time to make school more expensive for our young people.” Fallon then added (in his best Barry White voice), “Awww, yeah. You should listen to the president. Or as I like to call him, the Preezy of the United Steezy.” “Things are heating up inside Congress’ chambers behind those closed doors.” We don’t even know what that means, but the “POTUS with the most-est” needs to bring the Roots with him and deliver campaign speeches this way more often. Mitt Romney wouldn’t stand a chance.
There are certain rumors that you just PRAY are true. The Mill is buzzing that Nas, Common and Q-Tip are working to form a collective called “The Standard.” While none of the rappers’ reps elected to confirm news about forthcoming material from The Standard or Nas officially joining the group, the Daily News did offer that a recent conversation with Nas yielded some fruit, although vague. If you’ve ever heard of The Roots, you know their drummer, Ahmir “?uestlove” Thompson , is a huge Soul Train fanatic. Questlove went on Okay Player and remembered his first non-musical or blood related hero, Don Cornelius . In the piece, ?uestlove says, his bag of hard drives of Soul Train episodes have caused trouble for him flying. He was clearly emotional when penning it. He wrote: you people will have to forgive me…im just kinda writing from the heart….sporadic thoughts tears and snot are spilling out and whatnot. im certain dream and toure and nelson will do his legacy justice in print….i just felt the need to write something. Carnival Corp. is offering the passengers on the Italian cruise ship Costa Concordia a very special 30 percent discount to stay loyal to their brand, according to reports. One stipulation: You must not be dead or missing to receive the deal. “The company is not only going to refund everybody, but they will offer a 30 percent discount on future cruises if they would like to stay loyal,” a spokesman said. We’re sure people are absolutely blown away by such a deal. Costa Concordia Passengers Escaping The spokesman added that they’ve been contacting the survivors via phone after the vessel, captained horrendously by Francesco Schettino , capsized this month. Schettino was released from jail last week and is currently under home arrest near Naples, Italy. He is being charged with manslaughter and abandoning ship. ‘Of the 4,200 on board, 120 were Americans. In all, 13 people have died, and another 19,- including a retired Minnesota couple, remain missing early Monday.

The 20-year old auditioned in San Diego for TV’s top-rated series last night… only she had trouble remembering just which show she hoping to win.
