Exclusive Details: Rapper Jim Jones Arrested In Manhattan

Jim Jones must really think his Capo status is more than the name of his new album and his pretend Dipset responsibilities. Bossip has obtained exclusive details regarding the rapper’s arrest earlier today in New York City. According to the NYPD, Jones was arrested around 12pm in Downtown Manhattan after being pulled over for driving his 2007 Bentley in a bus-only lane on Broadway. During the course of the routine traffic stop, Jones was unable to provide the arresting officer with his driver’s license, which, as it turns out, is currently suspended. He was charged with driving with a suspended license, aggravated unlicensed operation and failure to obey a traffic device. Jones was issued a desk appearance, which means he will be released today. At press time, however, it is unclear whether Jones remains in custody. His court date was not immediately available. Jones’ fifth studio album, Capo is set to be released next Tuesday, April 5, via E1 Records.

Emma Bunton, 35, announced last fall she was expecting her second child with Jade Jones, 31 – a former boy band singer who is now a chef – in May. The couple also have a 3½-year-old son named Beau. After 11 years together, former Spice Girl Emma Bunton and boyfriend Jade Jones are getting married. “Yahooooo I#39;m Engaged!” Bunton Tweeted along with a photo showing her ring. “Love you Jade! Cam and Jim tossed barbs at each other during interviews, though they were civil enough to acknowledge their childhood friendship. And while Juelz Santana remained neutral for a long time (he eventually sided with Jones), it was Freekey Zekey who constantly urged the pair to put aside their differences. “Zeke never had a problem with anyone, so he was always trying to get everybody to talk,” Cam’ron told host Sway during the Dipset’s appearance on “RapFix Live” on Thursday (January 20). “I think everyone just needed to come to an understanding. We could all do great by ourselves, but if we all together, we can always do better. Like Snoop said, I can do whatever I want by myself but when I’m with Dr. Dre, it’s breakthroughs, it’s miracles, it’s stars and it’s all types of things in the air.” The rift between Cam and Jones lasted roughly three years until last year when the two announced they’d reconciled; in April 2010 they revealed they were in negotiations for a new record deal. A month later, in Atlanta, the two made their most pronounced appearance together in years when they joined forces at a Converse-sponsored hoops tournament , where they took first place. Reunited Harlem collective will take fans’ questions during Thursday’s live stream at 4 p.m. ET on MTV.com. By MTV News staff The Diplomats Photo: Donjai Harlem, stand up! The Diplomats are reunited and the Uptown collective — Cam’ron, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana and Freekey Zekey — are set to bring their revived outfit to 1515 where they’ll be our guests on “RapFix Live.” Dipset will kick off the second season of MTV News’ hip-hop live stream show on Thursday at 4 p.m. ET on MTV.com. After an internal spat caused disruption among the charismatic crew, they slowly began repairing the damaged relationships. In February 2009, Cam’ron told MTV News that he and Jones had spoken for the first time in years. From that point on, the two childhood friends inched closer to a reconciliation that eventually resulted in their comeback concert this past November. “It’s a good feeling,” Jones explained to MTV News about the crew’s new mindset. “Everybody just comes to the table with their best. It’s brotherly competition so it only makes it better. Above all, we came back together for the brotherhood. We grew up together, so there was a love that was lost there. We regained that and it’s time for music.” The Dipset members will sit down with Sway to discuss the status of their comeback, from their forthcoming mixtape to their rumored deal with Interscope Records. “Shout-outs to Dre, that was the most incredible experience in my career,” Jones said shortly after a flick of Dipset working with the West Coast producer appeared online. “Dr. Dre came to our studio, which was even more incredible. That was dope. We got to do a few songs with him. He coached me a bit.” Fans can ask them anything they wish, by tweeting to @MTVRapFix with the hashtag #rapfixlive.
