One of my favorite Sundance Film Festival movies has gotten a name change and a May 31 release date, and you should see it for a lot of reasons, the primary one being 18-year-old Moises Arias’ breakout performance. He’s the kid dancing on the pipe in this teaser trailer for The Kings of Summer — previously Toy’s House — and he had me and a lot of other audience members laughing out loud at the Park City screening I saw in January. Arias plays Biaggio, one of three kids who escape their homes and frustrating families for a makeshift house they build from scavenged materials in a secluded forest in their hometown. He’s not the star of Jordan Vogt-Roberts coming-of-age comedy — he’s actually the extremely odd classmate who invites himself along for the adventure — but he gets a lot of the best laughs. That has a lot to do with Arias’memorable face and his deer-in-the-headlights stare, which he uses to great advantage. I hope we’re going to be seeing a lot more of this kid, who’s also playing Bonzo in one of the fall’s hotly anticipated films, Gavin Hood’s adaptation of Orson Scott Card’s Hugo Award-winning science-fiction novel, Ender’s Game . Britney Spears and Kevin Federline were back together last weekend, if only for an afternoon, to watch sons Sean and Jayden play soccer in Woodland Hills, Calif. The former couple sat near each other but not on the same blanket. Kevin, baby mama Victoria Prince and their daughter Jordan sat behind Brit and her assistant. Needless to say, she looked outstanding and he looked … like K-Fed. With short jean shorts and a form-fitting pink tank top, the brunette star showed Kev what he’s missing … and what David Lucado is getting apparently. The $2.8 million purchase is a birthday present to himself of sorts for the Charlotte Bobcats owner, who recently turned the page on the big 5-0. Located 22 miles north of Timer Warner Cable Arena, the lakefront property takes full advantage of the Lake Norman scenery, offering up nearly panoramic views of the water from nearly every room. In terms of amenities, it’s your standard fully loaded affair; three levels of palatial living complete with a regal living room with an fantastic vaulted ceiling, entertainment and exercise areas, game rooms, dance floors, and even a spa room with its own sauna. Though it measures a whopping 12,310 square feet in size, Jordan’s new North Carolina manse pales in comparison to some of the other assets in his real estate portfolio. His Highland Park, IL mansion, which currently lists for $21 million, swells to an eye-popping 56,000 square feet and has its own indoor basketball facility. Then there’s his recent purchase in Jupiter, FL, a $12.8 estate that has been described as Jordan’s “golf home”, offers some 28,000 square feet of room to move. Not too shabby for perhaps the greatest player to ever play the game. It’s a good life when you can buy a $3 million house for your birthday. The mother of Michael Jordan’s alleged love child never planned to file a paternity suit against the NBA legend, but the child himself reportedly insisted. According to TMZ, Pamela Smith had no desire to sue Jordan until her son pleaded with her to make his (alleged) dad admit paternity and pay support. Taj Jordan (Michael Jordan Secret Son) Video Pamela Smith is suing Michael for just that, paternity and child support, claiming MJ got her pregnant while he was still married to Juanita Vanoy. Sources close to Smith, who says Jordan knocked her up in 1995, has always had a good relationship with Michael and doesn’t need the money. However, it was her son Grant Reynolds (a.k.a. Taj Jordan) who desperately wants MJ to acknowledge him and urged her to file the legal documentation. Smith’s intention, her friends say, was never to “call Michael out” but simply to have the (alleged) father be a bigger part of his life for his sake. Allegedly, Michael and Grant have met a few times over the years. Pamela claims Michael has even given the family money and gifts here and there. Grant, 16, always had to keep it a secret, though … until he apparently decided not to anymore. The teen made the above video last December. No response yet from Jordan or his camp.

Citing tougher competition and different rules, Jordan lists four players who could play in his era and questions even the mighty LeBron. JORDAN PLAYS his new favorite trivia game, asking which current players could be nearly as successful in his era. “Our era,” he says over and over again, calling modern players soft, coddled and ill-prepared for the highest level of the game. This is personal to him, since he’ll be compared to this generation, and since he has to build a franchise with this generation’s players. “I’ll give you a hint,” he says. “I can only come up with four.” He lists them: LeBron, Kobe, Tim Duncan, Dirk Nowitzki. When someone on TV compares LeBron to Oscar Robertson, Jordan fumes. He rolls his eyes, stretches his neck, frustrated. “It’s absolutely … ” he says, catching himself. “The point is, no one is critiquing the personnel that he’s playing against. Their knowledge of how to play the game … that’s not a fair comparison. That’s not right … Could LeBron be successful in our era? Yes. Would he be as successful? No.” We’re no basketball professionals, but LeBron James is 6’8 260 lbs. He’s huge for any era.
