He left the audience having to choose between laughing and cringing. Many of Hollywood’s biggest stars left the opener unscathed, a bit of a change from last year’s performance. Gervais still lived up to his reputation, however, and didn’t shy away from his signature brutal comedy style. Gervais opened his monologue with an appropriate question, considering how last year’s awards went. “Where was I?” he asked. “Nervous? Don’t be.” Despite all the talk of Gervais’ sharp wit before the show, he aimed the majority of his opening jokes at both the Globes themselves and NBC, the network airing the awards. Right off the bat, he joked, “Tonight, you get Britain’s biggest comedian, hosting the world’s second-biggest award show on America’s third-biggest network. I spoke on my emotions that day — I was just so frustrated,” Rose told MTV News’ Sway when she appeared on “RapFix Live” on Wednesday. The rumor mill has been buzzing that it was Rose who caused the breakup between Kardashian and NFL star Reggie Bush. Amber does admit to dating Reggie, but she insists that it was after his relationship with Kim and after her romance with Kanye had ended. It’s all very accusatory, yet Amber maintains that Kardashian sent pictures of herself to West while he was still in a relationship with Rose. When Sway asked about the pictures, the “Fame” singer didn’t want to comment any further, but she stood behind her original comments. “The story, it’s true,” she said. What Amber couldn’t stand behind was the name-calling. She says she called Kim a home wrecker out of frustration. “I hear that all the time, Sway, and I’m like, that’s not true,” Rose said of the rumor that she came between Bush and Kardashian. Rose went on to reenact her Star interview, paraphrasing what she told the reporter. “Kim is the home wrecker, I’m not the home wrecker. I don’t date men in relationships; I don’t do that to other women,” Amber said. “I got frustrated and I said it.” Part of the frustration came from the media-savvy Kardashian family, Amber said. “I feel like Kim and her family, they manipulate the media and they want people to believe what they want them to believe,” she said. “I just had to put the truth out there and I had to get it off my chest.” The stately model, who is now dating Wiz Khalifa (and seems very happy, we must say), explained that she and Bush dated briefly in a rebound relationship after she split with ‘Ye and he split with Kim, but there was no affair between them. “We were both kind of, like, hurt,” she said. “We were each other’s rebounds, basically. Reality star won’t appear in new Super Bowl ad but Skechers CEO says claims that Kardashian was replaced are ‘misleading.’ By James Montgomery Kim Kardashian Photo: Marianna Massey/ WireImage Kim Kardashian won’t be featured in Skechers’ upcoming Super Bowl ad — that honor goes to a French bulldog — but that doesn’t mean she’s been replaced. Earlier this week, reports surfaced that the shoe manufacturer had, uh, booted Kardashian as their spokesperson — she appeared in a steamy spot for Skechers’ Shape-Up shoe that aired during Super Bowl XLV — a move their president claimed was meant “to establish Skechers as more than a lifestyle company.” Of course, those reports also spawned a series of headlines suggesting Kardashian had been replaced in favor of the French bulldog (with some speculating her brief marriage to Kris Humphries was behind the decision). But according to Skechers’ CEO Robert Greenberg, that simply wasn’t the case. Instead (and less salaciously), the new commercial had everything to do with Kardashian’s contract with the company coming to an end. “Kim Kardashian has had a tremendously positive effect on the Skechers brand … she played a big part in Skechers moving up last year from 388 to 99 among companies with the highest brand trust,” Greenberg said in a statement . “While Kim’s contract with Skechers simply came to an end at the end of last year, we continue to have a great relationship with her … to say that she was ‘dropped’ or ‘replaced’ is misleading and untrue. Skechers has enjoyed and continues to enjoy the relationship with Kim, and in fact we continue to discuss ways that we may work together in the future.” Instead of Kardashian, this year’s Skechers Super Bowl spot features a French bulldog who dons the company’s new GOrun sneakers and races a pack of greyhounds.
