Kim Kardashian is launching her own makeup line, Kim Kardashian West Beauty. Even though, as people have already pointed out, Kim’s business could compete with Kylie Cosmetics . But now that we’ve seen how much money Kim is projected to make … we totally get it. Women’s Wear Daily projects that Kim Kardashian’s first product will rake in $14.4 million within minutes . Just about anybody would sell out their sibling’s business for that kind of cash, right? We’re kidding. Ish. So, Kim’s new line drops its first product, a cream for contouring and highlighting that comes in four shades, on June 21st, That’s the Summer Solstice, so we hope that the conspiracy folks who think that every Halftime Show is an Illuminati ritual have fun with that. Kim Kardashian West Beauty is expected to sell all 300,000 of these kits in under 5 minutes. Since each of them cost $48 and math exists … you get $14.4 million. Well, Kim and other profit participants get that much. They’re not pulling these numbers out of nowhere, either. Apparently, when Kylie Cosmetics released KKW by Kylie, it was basically just a test run for Kim’s own line. Which had to be weird for both of them, right? 300,000 of these lip kits sold out in minutes, and were $45 each … generating over $13 million. Based on that test run — literally imagine making that much on a test run , holy crap — they expect for Kim’s own products to sell at least as well for her own brand. And remember that some people only go to Kylie Cosmetics because they adore Kylie. There’s no telling how quickly Kim might sell out to her own fans. Given that level of cooperation, it sounds like they might not be competing after all. Kim, at least, would have us think so, because that’s what she told WWD . “I am older than Kylie. We definitely have a different audience.” That’s true. Kylie’s audience is, for the most part, people young enough that using Snapchat doesn’t make them feel like the cold hands of time are clutching at them and dragging them ever-closer to the grave. They must think that it’s worth it to see Kylie pose in a sheer lacy bra that does nothing to hide her nip-nops. Kim’s fans tend to be a little older — old enough that they can relate in some way to a woman who’s now a married mother of two. “We do have a lot of similar things — but we aren’t doing the same products so we won’t run into that overlap.” Kim Kardashian Beauty is supposed to just be concentrating on contouring and stuff instead of lip kits, but who knows how that might change? Money changes people. Even when they’re already rich. But Kim seems to thinkt hat it won’t be an issue. “We’re really cautious of that. We work together to make sure that we don’t overlap like that.” Keep your friends close and your sister closer, eh, Kylie? We know that Kylie’s willing to go all-out to promote her products. Usually that just means, you know, sexy pics with a caption here and there. Kim’s has more experience at being a businesswoman — remember her video game? — and her brand is a little different. But however she keeps people interested in her products over time, we’re sure that it’ll be hard to miss. Maybe she and Kylie can both be makeup moguls. As we’ve seen on the past couple of seasons of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kim Kardashian wants to have a third child. She wants it very, very badly. She seems to be going back and forth between finding a surrogate and trying to get pregnant again herself because, as she’s said, “I want my kids to have siblings.” The issue, however, is that she had several complications with both of her previous pregnancies, and her doctors have told her that a third pregnancy wouldn’t be entirely safe. When she was pregnant with North, she developed a condition called placenta accreta, which is where the placenta attaches itself to the uterine wall. It’s not a great condition to have. It causes a higher risk of excessive bleeding during delivery, which can be life-threatening, and for Kim, it means her uterus was damaged. After having North, doctors did a few surgeries to fix everything up, and a hole was created in her uterus, which made it extremely hard for her to get pregnant again. She managed it in 2015, when she conceived precious little Saint , but her doctors have warned her that she’s likely to have the condition again. And if she does, there’s a chance she could require an emergency hysterectomy in addition to the higher risk of blood loss. Still, Kim wants to be pregnant again, and it seems like it’s because she’s hesitant to trust a surrogate with carrying her child. But according to a new report from Life & Style, she may not have a choice. After all, it’s a little hard to get pregnant when you face all these complications, and when your husband doesn’t want another kid. Yep, as surprising as it may be, sources say that Kanye West doesn’t think it’s a great idea to have another baby with Kim. Could it be because he’s just a few months out from his total mental breakdown? Or that he and Kim have been rumored to be on the brink of divorce for a while now? Or possibly that he thinks two kids is ideal, and a risky pregnancy or a surrogacy just isn’t worth it? The source doesn’t go into the specifics on why Kanye isn’t ready to be a father of three, but the point is that he’s not, and that’s totally fair. What isn’t so fair is that Kim may be considering methods of having a third baby without Kanye’s consent. “She wants to choose someone outside of the state of California, where there are all kinds of surrogacy laws,” the source explains. “She’s ready to go.” …. So Kim is trying to find a state with lax laws surrounding surrogacy — perhaps one in which someone can find a surrogate and go through the process without express consent from a spouse? The passing of Robert Kardashian Sr. clearly impacted all of his children. And while arguably the long-term effects have been the most detrimental on Rob — poor Rob — it’s clear that Khloe’s still massively attached to her father. So attached, in fact, that she seeks communications from him on Hollywood Medium . This is definitely not the first time that Hollywood Medium Tyler Henry has read for Khloe, but she keeps coming back for more. Previously, he’s met with her and with Kris Jenner for the taping of his own show. Before that, he appeared on a Season 11 episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians , where he got a sense of the smell of neckties the moment that he entered her home. And once Khloe got a taste of that opportunity to cross-promote her brand spiritual experience, she knew that she had to repeat it. Back when he met Kris, Tyler had mentioned getting something about a little monkey, but Kris Jenner had had no idea what he meant — but Khloe did. Khloe had known that it referred to a stuffed monkey that had been her father’s since childhood and which he’d had on his hospice bed with him. Understandably, Kris Jenner had been less focused on the stuffed animal during her ex-husband’s final days. Khloe, however, had held onto it ever since he died and she’s carried with her from house to house. For Tyler Henry’s sort of reading — because there are all types of mediums, folks — he does best if he touches an object of significance to form a connection to the person who has passed. So, as revealed in an E! sneak peek , Khloe gives him the monkey to hold in the hopes that it will help him contact her late father. “There’s a feeling that comes across and it is in reference to dad’s passing,” Tyler tells her. “There’s a feeling of not having full closure, of not being there in the moment of passing.” Oh, right to talk about his death, huh? Not the most cheerful topic but, obviously it’s gonna come up. “There’s a feeling of like, ‘I don’t want you to be there when I’m actually passing away,’ It’s like, ‘For your sake I want you to just not have that in your memory.” Watching this from the other room, Kylie quietly notes that it’s interesting, because, as she recalls, Robert Kardashian passed when family wasn’t there. Of course, Kylie would have been, what, five at the time? Somewhere around there. Tyler Henry continues. “And there’s a feeling when this comes through that he actually would’ve timed his passing.” People can sort of will themselves to live a little longer or give up on life — not as dramatically as Padme Amidala in Star Wars , but there are people who died right after retirement or who cling to life just long enough to make sure that their affairs are in order and then pass away days later. “The feeling is that he was holding on and he was waiting and that would’ve been done with purpose and with intention.” We don’t think that Tyler’s suggesting that Robert Kardashian chose to die or anything like that. But everyone, even the terminally ill, tries to put on a brave face for the ones they love. In this case, Khloe says that Robert held on long enough to say goodbye to his entire family, and then finally passed when he wasn’t in their presence. “That was his way of having closure,” Tyler Henry concludes. Presumably, there will be more in the full episode, because Tyler telling Khloe stuff that she basically already knows isn’t the most riveting television. Though it might have been if Khloe were one of the skeptics that Tyler’s had on his show. For Khloe, though, this isn’t her first picnic with the ghosts of family past. Hopefully the full episode won’t harp on Khloe’s unresolved daddy issues the whole time. There has to be more to her … right?
Picture this: Khloe Kardashian, except that she’s the mother of five or six children. Okay, now take some deep, relaxing breaths and calm down. No, we’re not ready for that future either. But it sounds like Tristan Thompson sure is. One of the subplots on this season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians was questions about Khloe’s fertility . Not just questions about whether or not she’s interested in having kids, but questions about whether or not she can . She’s only been dating basketball player Tristan Thompson since last September, so it seems a little premature for this kind of talk, right? But at the same time, some people want kids from relationships and some people don’t, and it’s good to know early on whether kids are even an option and who might be interested. Tristan seems to be more than just interested, but also … his idea of family planning is a little nuts. “Tristan and I definitely talk about starting a family,” Khloe told her sister Kim on the Keeping Up With The Kardashians season finale. “He wants to have five or six kids with me and that’s lovely. We could start at one and we could grow from there.” Whoa , there. Tristan already has a kid, but apparently he won’t be satisfied until he can populate a small island? Five is a huge number of children to have, even for a committed, long-term couple. Which they are not. But Khloe sounds like this could become reality sooner than any of us realize. “But now knowing I’m not on birth control is just like — it’s scary. It’s like a really big step.” Yeah, one child is a huge step. Children are adorable but a lot of work and the hugest responsibility. Six children is a step off a cliff into an infinite, chaotic abyss. We know that Kris Jenner had six kids, but it was over the course of a couple of decades. Also, like, you gotta love Kris, but she has zero chill about anything. But Kris Jenner is intensely maternal. She’s not just protective — she’s helpful and supportive. Even when she doesn’t necessarily agree. Remember when she probably straight-up bought a house for Rob after Blac Chyna got pregnant? It’s because she had the means to and because she was supportive. Khloe has a … different temperament. Honestly, and maybe it’s just because she’s on camera, but Khloe can sometimes come across as a little emotionally unbalanced . And you know how meddling and controlling Khloe can be towards her grown-up adult siblings? Imagine that but she’s a mother. So … it sounds like she has some things to work past, first. Khloe’s siblings haven’t really had the best luck in terms of romance. Sure, Kim’s happy now, but let’s not forget that Kanye isn’t her first husband. Kourtney and Scott were happily together for years, but we’ve all seen how that turned out. Rob and Blac Chyna’s highly publicized relationship fizzled and died before the world’s eyes. Kendall and Kylie are younger so they haven’t had any disasters on quite that scale — because they haven’t gotten married or had kids. Unless you count every moment of Kylie dating Tyga as a disaster, anyway. Looking at all of that, is Khloe really ready to even discuss having kids with a guy she hasn’t even been dating for a year? Ultimately, if Khloe had gotten pregnant right after that episode was filmed, we’d probably know it by now. Or soon, anyway. So maybe it was just talk to raise drama or to float the idea by her family and fans. And even if she and Tristan do have plans to give the Duggars a run for their money, it’ll probably just happen with one baby at a time. Considering how agonizing pregnancy can be for some people, especially for Kim, maybe one will be enough for Khloe. But … maybe not. We may all need to brace ourselves for that on the horizon. Caitlyn Jenner’s had her share of tensions with the rest of the Kardashian clan. A little of that was just the normal emotions in life that happens when a couple splits and a transgender parent transitions. Unfortunately, this is more than that. Caitlyn’s controversial memoir is burning some bridges. Caitlyn’s memoir, The Secrets of My Life , contains some passages that are very critical of the Kardashians in general. And of Kris Jenner, Caitlyn’s ex-wife, in particular. We’ve already seen Kendall Jenner react to Caitlyn’s book . She was not happy and agreed with Kris that Caitlyn’s words weren’t true. We’ve also already seen Kim Kardashian angry at Caitlyn for dissing her mother and their entire family. But this is different. Kim gets very defensive of her entire family, but especially of Kris. On Sunday’s Keeping Up With The Kardashians , Kim didn’t mince words. “Mom’s obviously upset about it,” Kim says to Caitlyn. “So … if those are your feelings those are your feelings, but mom feels a certain way about you and she has the right.” She tells Caitlyn on no uncertain terms that there will be consequences if Kim feels that she’s done a smear job on her mother. “I’m going to read it and tell you honestly … Talk bad about my mom, I come for you.” Caitlyn tries to defend herself, saying that she had a story to tell and that was it. But Kim isn’t having it. “If you turn on my mom and you continue to bash us, I can’t — even for the sake of my sisters — spend time with someone who doesn’t care about my mother.” Kim really sounds like she’s serious about cutting ties. The Kardashians like to say that family loyalty is a quintessentially Kardashian quality, and maybe that’s so, but Kim’s “Like, enough already,” sounds pretty consummately Kardashian to us. We think that the Kardashians, like most people, were expecting Caitlyn’s memoir to be, you know, way more about being a woman who was designated as a male at birth, who was perceived as a man and then became a famous athlete and reality star. Surely being forced to live a lie by a wildly bigoted society is enough of a story to fill any book, right? A few anecdotes about weird feelings or dysphoria — though not all trans people experience dysphoria — experienced during her marriages would have sufficed, right? Not, like, a biting criticism of her family. The Kardashians were, for the most part, very supportive of Caitlyn as she transitioned. We’d accept nothing less than total support, of course, but you’d think that Caitlyn would be a little less vicious towards them. Caitlyn’s no stranger to controversy. A lifelong conservative, Caitlyn didn’t initially seem supportive of marriage equality — an odd stance for a world-famous member of the LGBT community. And then there were her political comments during the 2016 election campaigns. Mere months after people began to honor her for being a visible, vocal representation of trans folks, for provoking conversations and promoting awareness, the 2016 campaigns kicked into gear. Honestly, Caitlyn’s timing in coming out was really unfortunate in ways that she couldn’t quite foresee. It’s not super uncommong for LGBT folks from uber-conservative backgrounds to struggle with trying to fit in as much as possible with their family’s values. There’s something powerful about feeling accepted by the people who’d otherwise reject you. Maybe, if she’d come out in, like, 2013, she could have worked through all of that and not had such nice things to say about Ted Cruz and Donald Trump in 2016. That alienated a lot of her supporters. We do have to say, though, that it is strangely nice to see people blast Caitlyn for being shady without misgendering her. Comments sections — which we all know to avoid but too often cannot resist browsing — on articles about her too often include people misgendering her, or using her deadname. That’s never acceptable. Misgendering and other forms of transphobic language can never just be used against one person — they’re weapons against the trans community as a whole. Just like slurs and other forms of bigotry. The Kardashians, the people who have the most reason to be personally distressed by her, can hold conversations about her and outright threaten her without misgendering her. Maybe, one day, commenters will rise to the level of decency set by the Kardashians. Can we possibly set that bar any lower? Maybe this was all a misjudged attempt at boosting book sales. A tell-all book on the Kardashians sounds like it would normally do pretty well. It’s just not what people expected. But, even with all of the publicity that the book’s getting as they keep mentioning it on Keeping Up With The Kardashians , this doesn’t sound worth the cost. If any of this conflict is real, and it sounds like it, Caitlyn could be permanently alienating the entire family. Even if they work through it, some things might never be the same.
