Aurora Shooting Victim Files Lawsuit Against Movie Theater, Warner Bros.

Torrence Brown, Jr., one of the many Dark Knight Rises viewers who was inside the Aurora, Colorado movie theater when James Holmes opened fire last Friday morning, has filed a lawsuit in conjunction with the massacre. Brown was not physically injured, but he lost close friend A.J. Boik in the shooting and says he’s suffering from major trauma. As a result, he’s filed a suit against three defendants: The movie theater, which attorney Donald Karpel says was negligent in not possessing a more secure emergency door, which made it easy for Holmes to prop it open and enter it with his arsenal of guns. Holmes’ doctors. The lawyer also tells TMZ that Holmes is believed to have been on medication – he was acting VERY strangely yesterday in court – and his doctors failed in monitoring their patient properly. Warner Bros., the studio behind The Dark Knighr Rises, because the movie is especially violent, Holmes was basing his actions largely around it and movie goes weren’t even sure if he was part of the attraction or not when he first made his fatal move. “Somebody has to be responsible for the rampant violence that is shown today,” Karpel says. Kate Gosselin: Looking for Love, Reality TV Fame

Run and hide, men around the world. Kate Gosselin wants to find love again. And, hey, if it comes along with the fame and fortune of another reality TV run, the mother of eight won’t object. Not long after expressing sorrow for her former life and series , Gosselin is shopping a dating show around to the networks, according to E! News. “She is ready to get back into the dating game,” an insider says of Gosselin . “She is ready to find love again and to move on from her past. She’s excited, this is a chance to start something new.” The source adds that Gosselin is having trouble tracking down Mr. Right in her everyday life (maybe because she’s a terrible person) and is even willing to “travel around the country” as part of the program. Kate and ex-husband Jon Gosselin are on great terms these days and the country is clearly clamoring for at least one of them to step into the spotlight again. No, wait. It’s the exact opposite. What would you title a Kate Gosselin dating show?

Kate Gosselin Cruise Canceled Due to Low Sales

Royal Caribbean’s Kate Gosselin-hosted celebrity cruise has been canceled because of poor turnout and low ticket sales, according to reports. The mother of eight was supposed to set sail from August 12-19 at a rate of $1,900-$3,175 per ticket. Astonishingly, there weren’t many takers. All cruise-goers have been fully refunded for the nixed event. Said a spokesman for the company of the Kate Gosselin cruise : “Yes, that event has been canceled. We just didn’t get the turnout that we desired and mutually we agreed that if we didn’t get it, we would cancel.” “All ticket purchasers have been notified and been refunded. Some have chosen to continue on the cruise, but everyone was given the choice.” The reality star was apparently very apologetic at least. “Kate asked for everybody’s names, addresses and phone numbers and reached out to each one personally,” the spokeswoman added. “It was nothing to do with Kate Gosselin … we needed to hit certain numbers to make it work and they just weren’t where they needed to be.” It’s unclear how many tickets were actually purchased.

Jon Gosselin: Behind on Child Support?

Jon Gosselin has fallen behind on his child support payments to his ex-wife Kate Gosselin again, according to a tabloid report, to the tune of $3,557.06. That’s far less than the amount Levi Johnston is accused of owing for just one child, but it’s enough to mean legal consequences for Jon just the same. The former Jon & Kate Plus 8 reality star has eight kids he is required to support by law , and the Pennsylvania Dept. of Child Welfare is calling him out. Kate Gosselin seemed blindsided by the fact that Jon was going to go back to court for non-payment of child support after a Twitter follower alerted her. “I don’t know if he’s going to court but wouldn’t surprise me…. How do you know this stuff?!?” she wrote but quickly stopped engaging the follower: “Woah….I’m not allowed to talk about orders from the court.…” Probably smart. Since TLC canned their show , Kate has been working as a blogger for CouponCabin (dot) com while Jon has been working construction. Their contentious relationship often involves slamming each other on Twitter, but if Jon really does owe back child support, a real battle could erupt.

Kate Gosselin Turns 37 Today

Kate Gosselin has scarcely been in the news lately. Thank goodness. Don’t worry, though: even with TLC mercifully cancelling Kate Plus 8 last year, the attention-starved mother of eight isn’t about to rest on her laurels. She’s blogging like a madman for CouponCabin (dot com) and longing for the morning that someone will call and offer her brood a new reality show. Don’t hold your breath, Kate. But happy 37th birthday babe. It seems like only yesterday that Kate was burning up our TVs with her weekly emasculation of Jon … then burning up our site with her marital problems. Memories. Cheers to you, 2009. In non-grating-banshee news, it’s also Lady Gaga’s birthday today! Not to mention Vince Vaughn, Reba McEntire, Julia Stiles and others. Yay, March 28!

Kate Gosselin: So Sad, So Lonely!

Kate Gosselin still doesn’t know if she is ready to move on. It’s been nearly two years since she separated from her ex Jon Gosselin, and the mother of eight sat down with Dr. Drew Wednesday for a tearful, candid interview. The usually stoic 36-year-old got choked up, confessing that the single life “so lonely” and saying it would take a very special man to take on eight kids now. Even if one wanted to, she isn’t sure she can handle that. Kate Gosselin Cries on Dr. Drew When asked “Do you have a love life?’ Kate replied: “No. I’m too busy.” “A lot of my friends who are being constructive say ‘gosh, who are you going to meet that is going to be able to deal with eight kids?’ My answer’s always if they can deal with eight children in our situation it probably will be the person. It will sort of prove it.” Dr. Drew pushed Kate further, asking: “You’re tough but don’t you want somebody in your life?” To which she replied: “Absolutely! The odds are so against me.” “I mean, I don’t expect someone to come in and financially provide for my kids, I mean, they’re mine, that’s my job. So, just to have somebody there…” “One mom and eight kids … so it would be great. I mean, I’m so lonely. I clean up the house, put the kids to bed and there I sit. Ideally I would find that person.” “I mean, I just don’t know if I feel ready for that.” Guys, would you date Kate Gosselin ?

Mike McQueary, Witness to Penn State Scandal, Will Not Coach Saturday

Penn State wide receivers coach Mike McQueary, who witnessed Jerry Sandusky allegedly rape a boy in the team’s locker room in 2002, won’t coach this weekend. Out of fear for McQueary’s safety, the coach, who somehow still has a job, will not be on the field when the embattled Nittany Lions take on Nebraska tomorrow. The university released a statement reading, “Due to multiple threats made against assistant coach Mike McQueary, the university has decided it would be in the best interest of all for assistant coach McQueary not to be in attendance .” McQueary has been under fire for not doing anything to stop the alleged rape, and then going to Joe Paterno, the legendary head coach, instead of the police. Penn State fired Joe Paterno abruptly Wednesday night. Despite the fact that he didn’t stop Sandusky, the team’s former defensive coordinator, who was just indicted on 40 counts of child sex abuse, his job is safe for now. According to Pennsylvania’s Morning Call newspaper, the board, which was decisive in axing Paterno, does not plan to fire McQueary or ask him to step down. But he won’t be on the field tomorrow. The Penn State board of trustees have reportedly asked new interim coach Tom Bradley to keep Mike McQueary from coaching from the sidelines Saturday. As the sex scandal at the storied college football program continues to unravel, no word on whether Ashton Kutcher’s Twitter editors will weigh in on the latest.

Dr. Conrad Murray Documentary Airs in UK; Pretty Much Everyone Bashes Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson is not exactly portrayed glowingly in the new documentary centered on Dr. Conrad Murray. No wonder there is outrage among his family and fans. The controversial film debuted in the UK last night, just three days after Murray was found guilty of manslaughter in the death of Jackson. One major revelation: Emphatically, the doctor states that AEG Live CEO Randy Phillips told him before the This Is It tour Michael Jackson “does not have a f**king cent” to his name. Murray claims Phillips pulled him aside after a meeting about the London concerts and angrily said : “What’s this bullshit all about? Listen this guy is next to skid row.” “He’s going to be homeless. Nine security guards? Why does he need that? I’m paying for that s**t. I’m paying for the toilet paper he wipes his f**king ass with.” Or so Murray says in the documentary. Phillips took the stand during the manslaughter trial and, under oath, denied that conversation with Murray ever happened. “Michael Jackson and the Doctor: A Fatal Friendship” also reveals the strategy meetings between Dr. Murray and his two attorneys, Ed Chernoff and J. Michael Flanagan. During one session, Flanagan’s wife, Susan, offers this insight: “Explain to me a 50-year-old man who sleeps with a baby doll and has pictures of basically infants to 2-year-old children looking at him every night.” Chernoff says, “I think that the media made him appear weirder than he is.” Flanagan: “You gotta be kidding me, he can’t be any weirder than he is.” In the documetary, Murray claims Michael Jackson “always had a chamber that was exclusively his. The bedroom that he slept in … I had to persuade him, eventually to have it cleaned. Because … one, he peed the bed.” “It did not smell good. It was mildew, and I had to get it clean.” “Who would ever believe that a man his age would still be wetting his bed?” Murray added, noting that it wasn’t due to medication, but purely psychological. The documentary airs in the states, Friday night on MSNBC. Despite the objections of La Toya Jackson and MJ’s estate, the network will air it as planned.
