Sorry but we don’t believe you. You need way more people. Rumors are rapidly spreading that Nas isn’t the father of Kelis’ son, Knight. This morning we spotted a blind item on Rhymes with Snitch that read remarkably similarly to a tip we received last week and quickly dismissed. Here’s the RWS item: Once upon a time there was a young dragon slayer who hailed from Queens Bridge. This fabled dragon slayer slayed dragons twice his size with ease, though he never quite reached the heights of the dragons he has slain. But that’s not what this tale is about… There are whispers in the Kingdom that Young Slayer might not be the true sire of his dear beloved progeny. Scandalmongers have been sharing tales about a certain husky lover taken by Young Slayer’s former fair maiden who may indeed be the actual seed spiller. Fair maiden’s husky lover has now, by the way, moved on to a child of destiny. And here is the info we were sent: Kelis is keeping a secret. The father of her son is former football player Wale Ogunleye not Nasir Jones. After adult freaky tape allegations leaked featuring Kelis and a man other than her husband she decided to become pregnant to save her failing marriage. She though it would take a few months for her to conceive but she was pregnant within a month. She and Ogunleye were having an affair and things happened so quick she was uncertain of the child’s paternity. That’s why she refused to allow Nas into the delivery room and refuses to allow him to visit her son without her or the nanny. Her son has striking features he inherited from his biological father who is of Nigerian decent. She just recently purchased a foreclosure in Glendale California, and is desperately seeking a sponsor. She fears losing another property she has had two foreclosures and two evictions since her divorce. Ogunleye has since upgraded and is now dating Michelle Williams of Destiny’s Child. Here’s a photo of Ogunleye who did date Kelis back in 2010 . Sorry but we’re calling bullisht on this one right out the gate. There is NO WAY in hell after all the legal hoops these two have jumped through that Nas didn’t have that baby DNA tested. Whoever is spreading these rumors needs to get a life.

But it’s mostly because… it’s become something he’s incorporated into his live show. BOSSIP was at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Maryland Saturday for Virgin Mobile FreeFest and we were thrilled to hear the rapper introduce “Bye Baby” to the crowd by first dedicating the song to ex-wife Kelis and then admitting, “I texted her last night and asked, ‘Can we just make love just one last time?’ ” And even though we’d heard about him doing this before, we still kinda hoped it was true. Having been a Nas fan since his pre- Illmatic days it was great to watch him live as he performed many of his hits off Life Is Good as well as classics like “If I Ruled the World,” “I Know I Can,” “1 Mic” and many more… This was our second year attending Virgin Mobile’s Freefest as one of a select 25 Virgin Mobile Influencers and we had a blast walking back and forth between the main Pavilion stage where we watched Justin Jones and Jack White peform, and the West Stage where we saw Santigold and her adorable dancers do their thing. We rode the VirginMobile ferris wheel for a mere $5 donation (the concert is free, you just have to make a small donation to get in and a few more here and there and the money goes toward a great cause — youth homelessness!) We also got to witness Nas and a new favorite — Skrillex. Prior to Saturday’s show we hadn’t really caught onto the whole EDM movement, but Skrillex put on an amazing show complete with projected video and movie clips, fireworks, fire and literally ALL OF THE LIGHTS that you can ask for… and the music was actually great. Skrillex performed from a setup that was atop a giant spaceship that moved throughout his set. Really impressive production. Gotta love OG rockers ZZ Top! We highly recommend that if you haven’t attended one of these in the past that you start planning for next year now. Check out the VirginMobile Live website for more photos and streaming video from the festival and follow @virginmlive for more updates. It’s probably a good idea to like and friend them on Facebook too because they have lots of contests. All Photos Courtesy Virgin Mobile

Nas And Kelis Spotted Out At Dinner In L.A. Despite their bitter divorce and infamous child support arrangement , Nas and Kelis are trying to keep it cordial for their son. via TMZ Nas & Kelis are desperately trying to bury the hatchet after their famously bitter divorce war — in fact, they’re even trying to forge a FRIENDSHIP — and Nas tells TMZ, it’s all for their son. You’ll recall, Kelis filed for divorce from Nas in April 2009 and the split was nuclear. The two warred non-stop over custody of their son and money. Kelis said when she was 7 months pregnant she was broke yet Nas refused to give her a penny — even for medical expenses. Now, Nas tells TMZ, the two are trying to put the past behind them in order to develop a healthy relationship for the benefit of their 3-year-old son Knight — but they are NOT reuniting romantically. The rapper says they’ve been on good terms for a while now and he hopes it will continue. Nas and Kelis even grabbed dinner last night in L.A. together. Impressive. Good for them.

Nas let us know life is real good right now. And a week before his final show at Rock the Bells, he answered a few questions we’ve all been wanting answers to…mainly, “How did Kelis feel about the cover of his Life Is Good album? You’re preparing to hit the Rock the Bells stage. Why are there only a few hip-hop branded festivals out there? Hip-hop brings out America’s youth in ways that scares America’s adults. So when you pack a city or place with those kinds of fans, people get nervous. That’s one reason. Another reason, hip hop is raw, it’s a raw genre. It’s not so shiny, no matter how many chains people wear. It’s still a real streets thing. It has not yet reached the Rolling Stones touring levels like rock ‘n’ roll has. It’s still the word of mouth, did-you-hear-this-song-last-night small crowd that embraces each artist one at a time. We like to own it before it becomes commercial. When it becomes commercial, the core hip-hop fan tends to walk away from it. What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned in the last two years? No matter what, everything will be alright. A lot of people are scared of failure. A lot of people are scared of love and being hurt. A lot of people are scared of taking chances. No matter what, everything will be fine. Was there ever a time you felt even your fans didn’t understand what you were trying to convey in your music? A lot of times. But you never get off your path. Even when I’m doing stuff that I feel isn’t really good, when I feel like it’s off or bad, those are my moments I go back to — my human moments — where I say I was really just a human there, I wasn’t great there, I was just me. That is a great thing to see and feel. Like, ‘Hey, look at me at that point.’ Yeah, people weren’t feeling it, but I was naturally me. What did having Amy Winehouse on the record mean to you? Having Amy on my record … it grew into a different thing. It wasn’t just your typical rap album because she blessed it. It was serendipitous. She was an angel. She is an angel, so she blessed that entire project with just that one song. That was just God. I think God makes things happen that we can’t explain sometimes. She was a gift, a pure artist. I give that to God. Your “Behind the Music” revealed so much about your personal life and your divorce. How hard was it to convince you to do it? Because the media covered it so much — some true stuff, some false — everyone was telling my story for me. Everyone except me. I didn’t want to do “Behind the Music,” and I found out my people told them they can start it and they had already started the production. It took some persuading, but I agreed for a couple of things: It’s not the end of the world to tell your story, and it doesn’t mean anything other than you telling your story. It was hard for me because I was never that kind of guy. I can make music about it all day long but to sit down with you, other than a quick interview, for an in-depth thing … it was out of question. This was the most I’ve ever done as far as telling my story. But I’ll tell you like this, if you can last as long as I’ve lasted so far, there’s nothing wrong with reintroducing yourself to fans and listeners. There are so many artists that come out all the time that could be forgotten or not be appreciated. And these are important stories, and I thought it was cool to let people inside. The “Life Is Good” cover got plenty of ink. What did Kelis think of it? She wanted to know exactly … she wanted to hear from me what it meant. I told her, basically it’s life. It’s wins, it’s losses, but life goes on. And this is a part of my life, a part of her life and she was a part of my life. It’s my story. And I wanted to do this in a way to open up hip-hop music in a way it probably hadn’t been opened up before as far as an artist getting into a personal situation. This particular story has never really been done [in hop hop]. I said this is fresh, this is new, and she really appreciates it and loved the concept. She thought it was pretty dope. You said you didn’t think you’d last this long in the business. Is there something in particular that made you think that? One of the reasons is, man, how [messed up] the business was in the ’80s when great acts like Public Enemy, De La Soul, NWA, and Tribe were around. The record business was a lot worse. My generation benefited from their losses or from their sacrifices … and realize the torch they had in their hands was supposed to stay lit. For me that’s important. My ego is not as big as hip-hop is. Hip-hop comes before Nas. A lot of these guys have egos, and that’s a character flaw, it’s one of the ugliest character flaws … an artist with ego. If Hip-Hop of late has been messed up, we’re hyped to hear Nas is stayin’ in the game and driven. Source Images via Twitter/WENN

He Says Life Is Good…Nas Talks Commercialism, Kelis, Amy Winehouse, And His Future
The anticipation levels couldn’t be any higher over in these parts when it comes to Nas’ new album Life Is Good but in the meantime we have been happily taking in all the leaked songs, interview excerpts and video footage from Nas’current European tour. Speaking of which, Nas just released this live performance of “A Queens Story” with Green Lantern from their Paris show. Check it out: And it’s interesting that he declares Marvin Gaye his favorite artist in that clip, because he’s described “Life Is Good” as his own version of Gaye’s “Here, My Dear” particularly because he’s holding part of Kelis’ dress on the album cover: “I found it in my house and thought, it’s going somewhere! Either on the cover of my album, or burning in a garbage can.” He laughs. “I was angry when I first found it. Hurt and angry – but I don’t think she left it deliberately to hurt me. It’s just part of the dress, so I don’t know where the rest of it is. But it made all the sense in the world for me to … hold on to that.” He pauses. “I guess that’s just my personality. “My wedding and my marriage was, for the most part, some of the most amazing times of my life.” He clears his throat. “She’s an incredible woman. It just ended really publicly, it seemed real bad. I guess this is my Here, My Dear album, that Marvin Gaye made. It might not be quite so much about the marriage or the divorce, but it’s still that kind of record for me.” The latest song to leak off “Life is Good” is a brilliant tribute to his former lady love Kelis called “Bye Baby.” The song, produced by Salaam Remi and Noah “40″ Shebib samples Guy’s “Goodbye Love” and we couldn’t help but to smile a little as Nas recounts his life with his former wife. If you haven’t heard it yet, you have to check it out: Do you think Nas will catch any flack for getting “sensitive” in song? Just a thought. Hit the flip for Nas’ collabo with Amy Winehouse.

Kelis Talks About Ex-Husband Nas For First Time Kelis has been balling out and doing her thing on the sly… by herself. Since the divorce, we have not heard the songstress talk to much about Nasir Jones. In this new interview, she touches on Nas using her wedding dress for his new album: We chat with Kelis at the Isle Of Wight Festival 2012 about her feelings about ex-husband Nas, her busy touring schedule, and what we can can expect from her long-awaited next album. Turn it and peep.
