Kellie Pickler Shaves Head in Support of Cancer-Stricken Friend

On the cover of Maxim last month, Kellie Pickler lent her body to a very important cause: the U.S. military. Now, the former American Idol singer has offered up her head for another one: breast cancer, specifically good friend Summer Holt Miller, who was diagnosed with in June, has undergone a double mastectomy and starts chemotherapy tomorrow.” “Cancer does not discriminate,” says Pickler in a statement on her Facebook page, while Miller adds: “If this compels even one person to change their mentality toward waiting until the age of 40 for their mammogram, then it will be worth it.” You can watch a video documenting Kellie and Summer’s experience on the official Athena

Kellie Pickler Fake Tits in Maxim of the Day

Kellie Pickler is some American Idol hick who lived in a shanty with her grandfather and thanks to being inbred, uneducated, and probably forced into compromising positions by the hillbilly townsfolk every year at the Coal Miner’s Apalachian ball, was also dumb as shit….and that made for good TV…and good TV made for getting paid and a low level celebrity that bought her some fake tits….that she is now broadcasting in Maxim, because I guess they are the only ones who care or who are willing to shoot people who haven’t been in the news or tabloids since they were on American Idol….I guess that’s what falling off is all about….

Kellie Picker: Patriotic and Pretty for Maxim

Kellie Picker covers the latest issue of Maxim . But the former American Idol contestant has goals in mind that include a lot more than merely showing skin: she’s espousing the virtues of the USO and hoping others get involved in assisting our military. “I come from a military family,” says Pickler, who has traveled abroad with the USO five times. “My grandfather is a retired Marine, and I’ve always had a great deal of respect for anyone who serves our country. It really does take someone special to sacrifice everything. I don’t mean just their lives, either. There are men who are sacrificing the chance to hold their newborn baby!” Pickler adds that she hates singing the National Anthem, which may seem like an odd stance for someone with her belief system, but her rationale is spot-on. “I love the anthem if someone else is singing it, but doing it myself gives me anxiety! I feel like people are waiting for you to mess up! I’ve done it before and I’ll do it again, I’m sure, but I’d rather show my patriotism by going to Afghanistan.” Amen. For more from Kellie, pick up this issue of Maxim when it goes on sale July 31.

Kellie Pickler Performs on American Idol, Asks: Where’s Tammy Wynette?

On last night’s American Idol results show, Kellie Pickler returned to the stage that made her famous, the same stage on which the remaining season 11 finalists hope to one day become famous. The enthusiastic country crooner was introduced by Ryan Seacrest and then broke into a rendition of “Where’s Tammy Wynette,” a track off “100 Proof,” Pickler’s third studio album that was released on January 24. Take a look and take a listen now and consider: it’s not hard to see finalist Skylar Laine singing this track, is it? Enjoying the kind of success that has found Kellie since her days on Idol ? Jennifer Lopez Votes To Save DeAndre Brackensick On ‘Idol’

But other judges opt to boot springy-haired singer, who was joined by Hollie Cavanagh and Elise Testone in the bottom three. By Adam Graham DeAndre Brackensick on “American Idol” Photo: Fox DeAndre Brackensick sang “I Like It” on Wednesday’s ’80s-themed episode of “American Idol,” but America didn’t like it and sent the springy-haired singer packing on Thursday’s (April 5) elimination episode. The 17-year-old from San Jose, California, came the closest so far this season to being a recipient of a judges’ save, after performing Stevie Wonder’s “Master Blaster” following the news he received the lowest number of America’s votes. “This boy right here, we’ve been watching him for two years. You’re an amazing performer, and I stand by that,” Jennifer Lopez told him. “I think you have an amazing voice, and you’re gonna share a lot with the world, I really do believe that. [But] I only get one vote. I’m sorry, we’re not saving you tonight. I’m sorry, baby.” Host Ryan Seacrest asked Lopez if that meant she voted to save him and the other two judges didn’t. “Yes, that’s what I’m saying,” she said. Brackensick wound up in the doghouse despite receiving positive remarks from the judges Wednesday. Lopez called his performance “natural” and Steven Tyler called it “amazing,” while Randy Jackson told him, “It was one of my best performances from you.” Idol mentor Jimmy Iovine, however, had a different take. “DeAndre was not great!” he barked. “DeAndre needs to come out and grow at a much faster pace. If you look at the boys, Joshua [Ledet] is growing in leaps and bounds, and DeAndre is growing marginally.” Iovine called him the “weakest of the boys” on Wednesday. Iovine had harsh words for several of the contestants Thursday; he said Hollie Cavanagh “is approaching this like a high school performer, and last night wasn’t even a great high school performance,” while he said Elise Testone delivered “an old-fashioned choke.” (It goes without saying that Iovine has become by far the most interesting, honest judge on the show, even though he’s technically not even a judge. Can someone go ahead and change that, please?) It was Cavanagh and Testone, in fact, who joined Brackensick in the week’s bottom three. Brackensick was the first contestant sent to those lonely chairs, followed by Cavanagh and then Testone. Cavanagh was sent back to safety first, leaving Brackensick and Testone to sweat it out. Also on the show, the Wanted performed their hit “Glad You Came” and Kellie Pickler ran through her new single “Where’s Tammy Wynette,” while Jennifer Lopez debuted her “Dance Again” video . Adele’s 21 Tops Albums Chart For 18th Time

Tim McGraw, Lamb of God also make appearances in top 10. By James Montgomery Adele’s 21 Photo: Columbia Records Hey, guess what? Adele is #1 on the Billboard albums chart again. Yes, for the 18th time, the British belter’s 21 claims the top spot, selling nearly 116,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The album has now tied Garth Brooks’ Ropin’ the Wind for 18 non-consecutive weeks at #1; she needs just three more weeks atop the chart to move past the “Bodyguard” soundtrack and Elvis Presley’s Blue Hawaii, both of which notched 20 weeks at #1. As is usually the case, Adele makes it look easy. Her closest chart competition comes in the form of Tim McGraw ‘s Emotional Traffic, which scores the week’s biggest debut, opening at #2 with sales of nearly 68,000 copies. Lamb of God ‘s Resolution bows at #3, selling almost 53,000 copies. The 2012 Grammy Nominees compilation (more than 52,000 copies sold) and Ingrid Michaelson ‘s Human Again (nearly 40,000 copies sold) round out the top five. The 21st installment of the ubiquitous Kidz Bop series is next at #6, with sales of more than 33,000 copies, followed by former “American Idol” firecracker Kellie Pickler ‘s 100 Proof (more than 27,000 copies) at #7, Seal ‘s Soul 2 (slightly more than 27,000 copies) at #8, Drake ‘s Take Care (more than 26,000 copies) at #9 and Kari Jobe ‘s Where I Find You (nearly 25,000 copies) at #10. Outside the top 10, there are debuts from the expansive four-disc Bob Dylan tribute Chimes of Freedom, which bows at #11 with sales of more than 22,000 copies (the two-disc version opens at #39), and Lacuna Coil , whose Dark Adrenaline opens at #15 with sales of nearly 20,000 copies. On next week’s chart, Adele faces new challenges from the likes of Leonard Cohen ‘s Old Ideas and Lana Del Rey ‘s Born to Die . Related Videos MTV Unplugged: Adele Related Artists Adele

Ne-Yo Leaves Def Jam To Become Motown Exec

‘I’m honored that I’ve been given such a prestigious title,’ Ne-Yo says of new role as SVP in statement to MTV News. By Rob Markman Ne-Yo Photo: WireImage When you think Motown Records, you think of artists like Diana Ross, the Temptations, Stevie Wonder and Smokey Robinson, just to name a few. Now Ne-Yo joins the legendary list of soul and R&B singers that will record under the iconic brand created by Berry Gordy in 1959. The Grammy Award-winning singer (and co-star of the George Lucas-produced “Red Tails” ) has moved from Def Jam to Motown Records, according to a statement sent to MTV News on Wednesday (January 25). Not only that, Ne-Yo will also take over as the label’s senior vice president of A&R. “I’m honored that I

Unstoppable album will notch 17th non-consecutive week on top of the Billboard chart, tying Billy Ray Cyrus’ 1992 release. By Gil Kaufman Adele Photo: Getty Images Adele ‘s 21 gives a whole new meaning to “Achy Breaky Heart.” And since the singer’s unstoppable album will notch its 17th non-consecutive week at #1 next week on the Billboard albums chart, she now shares that honor with Billy Ray Cyrus’ breakthrough, Some Gave All , which did the same in 1992. After blowing past the 1997 “Titanic” soundtrack last week, Adele sold another 95,000 copies of 21 to keep the top spot, according to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan. That was more than enough to lock out the 21st edition of the Kidz Bop series, which will debut at #2 on sales of 59,000. The only other new face in the top 10 is gospel act James Fortune & FIYA ‘s Identity , which moved 18,000 units. The rest of the top 10: Black Keys ‘ El Camino (#3, 29,000), Drake ‘s Take Care (#4, 29,000), Rihanna ‘s Talk That Talk (#5, 20,000), Young Jeezy ‘s TM 103: Hustlerz Ambition (#6, 19,000), Toby Keith ‘s Clancy’s Tavern (#8, 17,000), Coldplay ‘s Mylo Xyloto (#9, 17,000) and Nickelback ‘s Here and Now (#10, 17,000). Otherwise, it was pretty quiet, with punk band Attack Attack! sliding into the #11 spot with their new one, This Means War (17,000), and the soundtrack to the Dolly Parton/Queen Latifah feel-good movie “Joyful Noise” jumping up nine spots in its second week to #12 (just under 17,000). Down at #26 was protest folkie Ani DiFranco with Which Side Are You On? (11,000) and, at #33, soft rockers Snow Patrol , whose Fallen Empires tumbled 28 spots in its second week on the charts. Adele might be safe for another week if the latest from country star Tim McGraw doesn’t push her out of the top spot. Other new releases include albums from Lamb of God , Kellie Pickler and Amnesty International’s four-disc Chimes of Freedom: The Songs of Bob Dylan compilation. Related Artists Adele
