Kendrick Lamar To Induce N.W.A. Into Hall Of Fame Even more good news for Kendrick Lamar . Right on the heels of a triumphant Grammy night , the West Coast rapper is getting the opportunity to honor his childhood idols, N.W.A., by welcoming them into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Via Entertainment Weekly : Kendrick Lamar will head to Brooklyn in April to welcome legendary hip-hop group N.W.A. to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the hall announced Monday. While speaking to a group of Compton High School students ahead of the Grammys, the “Alright” rapper named Dr. Dre among his musical influences, and fanboy-ed a bit while interviewing the group for Billboard in August. “I’m trippin’ out right now looking at ya’ll right here,” he said before speaking with Dre, Ice Cube, DJ Yella, and MC Ren. The 31st Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center April 8, with HBO filming the event for an April 30 broadcast. Tickets for the live simulcast at the Rock Hall are now available. Good for Kendrick! And we can’t think of a better choice… Billboard
