Mary Kennedy Death Caused By Asphyxiation Hanging

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s estranged wife Mary Kennedy died as a result of asphyxiation by hanging, confirming a report that surfaced yesterday. Now it’s official, according to the Westchester County medical examiner. The medical examiner’s report does not use the word “suicide,” although it’s being widely reported (and probably accurate) that Mary committed suicide . Police found Mary Kennedy dead yesterday afternoon at her home in Bedford, N.Y. She was already dead by the time authorities arrived at the home. According to the Bedford Police Department, officers responded to Mary’s home to investigate a possible ” unattended death ,” meaning no one saw it. Mary and RFK Jr., the son of Robert F. Kennedy and the nephew of president John F. Kennedy, had four children. They separated back in 2010. Her death marked the final event in a life that had turned tumultuous of late and adds yet another dark moment in the Kennedy family’s history. Psychologists said events in her recent history, such as reports of alcohol and drug abuse and psychiatric problems, pointed to an increased risk of suicide. [Photo: WENN.com]

Jason Biggs, Wife Parody Time Breastfeeding Cover

The already-infamous Time Magazine breastfeeding cover has sparked controversy, worldwide debate, and now this ridiculous photo from Jason Biggs. The American Reunion star and his wife, Jenny Mollen, posed up for a picture to parody the shot, with Biggs sharing the image on his Twitter page. Mollen emulated the pose of Time cover model Jamie Lynne Grumet. The Time cover story, on attachment parenting, asked: Are you mom enough? Biggs shared the picture with the caption: “Are you wife enough?” Biggs’ parody, while by far the most absurd, isn’t the only celebrity reaction to the cover story and subject everybody seems to be talking about. Actress Alyssa Milano, who’s been very vocal in the past about her beliefs surrounding breastfeeding, wrote on her Twitter page: “@Time, no! You missed the mark! You’re supposed to be making it easier for breastfeeding moms.” “Your cover is exploitive & extreme.” Model Joanne Krupa, never one to mince words, added: ‘Time magazine cover is disturbing! Breast feeding a 3yr old is wrong! What’s wrong w ppl!’ However, The Big Bang Theory star Mayim Bialik said that while she disagreed with the photo itself, Jamie Lynne Grumet’s story was inspiring. What do you think of “attachment parenting”?

Mary Richardson Kennedy Committed Suicide, Report Says

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s wife, Mary Richardson Kennedy, was “depressed and despondent” before committing suicide this week, according to a new report. Police found Mary Kennedy dead at her Mount Kisco, N.Y., home Wednesday. Radar Online is reporting that the 52-year-old hanged herself in a barn, though officials have not commented publicly on Mary Kennedy’s cause of death. A longtime friend, who spoke to Mary Monday, said they were sadly not surprised , as she faced mounting financial woes at the end of her marriage. “I spoke to Mary on Monday and she sounded extremely down,” the source said. “She was depressed and despondent and worried about the future.” “Mary said she was facing financial ruin, with American Express coming after her hard for an outstanding debt, along with several other creditors.” “In addition, she was concerned that Robert was about to substantially reduce the amount of financial support he gave her and she’d lose her home.” Mary was married to the son of Robert F. Kennedy for 16 years, before he filed for divorce in May 2010. The couple had four children together. While estranged from RFK Jr., Mary lived at the family home in Mount Kisco, while Robert spent the majority of his time in Los Angeles, Calif. “Robert still supported Mary and was there for her whenever he could be, but he had pretty much moved on,” a source said of the couple. “He has been dating Cheryl Hines for a while now and they are very happy.” The source says Mary Kennedy was struggling to come to terms with the end of their marriage, despite Robert having filed for divorce two years ago. “It was very tough for Mary to deal with Robert dating someone else,” the source says. “And it really didn’t help that the new woman is a celebrity.” “She would see photos of the two of them together and it would drive her nuts. I think, deep down, she had still harbored a belief they would get back together but it had recently become blindingly clear that wasn’t to be.” “Mary was in a very dark place recently. Robert tried to help her all he could but it was difficult for him to be around her. Robert is committed to his sobriety but Mary had chosen a whole different path to take.” “When I heard the news that she may have taken her own life I was devastated, but not that surprised. It was in the back of my mind that she may do something like this, and that was compounded by the conversation I had with her. “However she died though, this is an absolute tragedy. Mary was an amazing and beautiful person and she absolutely adored her children.” “It is a devastating loss to all that knew her.”

Occupy Boston took an interesting turn after midnight on Monday, as Boston police cleared a second protest site at the Rose Kennedy Greenway. Protesters were warned by police and Mayor Thomas Menino through fliers and bullhorn announcements that the area–which was serving as an overflow for occupiers who couldn’t fit into the already-packed first site at Dewey Square–would need to be emptied. Kara Kennedy, Daughter of Ted Kennedy, Passes Away

Kara Kennedy, daughter of former U.S. Sen. Ted Kennedy, passed away Friday at age of 51. She was working out in a Washington D.C.-area gym at the time. “She’s with dad,” Patrick Kennedy, her brother and Congressman from Rhode Island, said. Their father died in 2009 at age 77 after battling a brain tumor. She was the eldest of Ted’s three children. Though she never sought elected office like many in her famous family, she heeded the family’s call to give back through public service throughout her lifetime. Kara, who also helped work on her father’s senatorial campaigns, was also a cancer survivor. In 2003, she had a malignant tumor removed from her lungs. According to her Patrick Kennedy, the cancer treatment, while successful, “took quite a toll on her and weakened her physically. Her heart gave out.” Kara is survived by her husband Michael Allen and two teenage children.

Dom Kennedy Embraced By NYC Crowd, Despite L.A. Roots

‘ From the Westside, With Love II just came out last week, so it was shocking to me to see people that knew those songs,’ MC marvels after packed show. By Steven Roberts Dom Kennedy Photo: MTV News New Yorkers are a notoriously tough crowd — ask the Knicks or Yankees. Or try suggesting your favorite pizza spot, because you’re already wrong. The city is also full of staunch music critics, from The New York Times to the Apollo Theatre’s Sandman. Hip-hop acts have a notoriously tough time getting the crowd to put their hands in the air. West Coast MC Dom Kennedy didn’t seem to have much trouble Tuesday evening, however. Kennedy headlined a packed house — more like sauna — at SOB’s in Lower Manhattan. And to many people’s surprise, Leimert Park’s very own had the crowd in the palm of his hand. Even Kennedy looked pleasantly surprised at the start of his set as the audience repeated every word to songs old and new. He said the show was a bit of a celebration for the hard work he’s put in over the past few years. “I realize that these are people that were probably listening to my music every day or every other day since these projects have come out,” Kennedy told MTV News. ” From the Westside, With Love II just came out last week, so it was shocking to me to see people that knew those songs. But the other ones, it was our time to get together and have a good time.” Kennedy said he knew he had a following in New York based on the reception he received at the listening party for his Original Dom Kennedy mixtape earlier this year, but the moment he got to the show and saw he couldn’t make his way from the green room to see any of the opening acts, he knew it would be a special night. Kennedy’s From the Westside, With Love II dropped via iTunes last week, making it his first retail release. It’s the follow-up to his From the Westside, With Love, a project Kennedy felt was really good — most critics felt the same, but he thought it wasn’t complete. He wanted Part II to show his growth. He also wanted it to show that Tuesday evening’s overwhelming reception wasn’t a fluke. “I built my projects to be the best,” Kennedy said. “Whether it’s a free project, whether my first project just came out on iTunes for $6.99, I built those projects to compete with Lil Wayne CDs, with everybody’s album. Whoever people consider the top album, whether it be selling or music-wise, I want the Dom Kennedy album to stand next to those.” What do you think of Dom’s latest mixtape?
