Actress Felicity Huffman , who was one of the biggest names caught up in the college admissions scandal, just received her punishment for trying to bribe her kid’s way into college. Her sentence? 14 days in prison. According to NBC News , Huffman was sentenced on Friday. Joined by her actor husband, William H. Macy , Huffman was also sentenced to a fine of $30,000 and 250 hours of community service. “I am deeply sorry to the students, schools, and universities, that are impacted by my actions,” Huffman said, while choking up. “I take full responsibility for my actions and as a first step for making amends for my crime. I will accept whatever punishment you deem appropriate.” U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani, who handed down the sentence, said the scandal demonstrated a major imbalance in America in which rich parents are able to give their kids more advantages. She said she didn’t relish sending Huffman to prison, but she believed it was the right decision. “I don’t think anyone wants to be going to prison, I do think this is the right sentence here,” said Talwani. “You move forward and you can rebuild your life after this. You pay your dues.” Yet there are tons of Black people in prison for minor non-violent offenses serving way more time than 14 days. Of course, much of Twitter wasn’t happy with Huffman’s sentencing. Huffman pleaded guilty to mail fraud and honest services fraud for dishing out $15,000 to college fixer Rick Singer to cheat on daughter Sophia Grace Macy’s SAT test back in 2017. Yet, she somehow evaded a prison system in which the less wealthy and less White folks aren’t so lucky. Ironically, probation officials initially said the government was at fault for setting Huffman’s sentencing range at four to nine months because the amount of money she paid should not be a factor in how she’s sentenced. They said Huffman should be subject to the lowest sentencing guidelines of zero prison time to six months. It looks like they got what they wanted. “The mere fact that prosecutors asked for such little prison time showed that Huffman appeared to be in good position to avoid time behind bars,” said NBC legal analyst Danny Cevallos. “Federal courts are under obligation to avoid ‘unwarranted sentencing disparities.’ A sentence of incarceration for Felicity Huffman sure seems like an unwarranted sentencing disparity.” So basically, there are people who think her sentencing is actually too severe. Notorious bigot Derick Dillard’s transphobia is so intense that it tanked his reality career. Some of his fans hope that he might express some degree of regret — or maybe even apologize — for verbally attacking a teenage girl. Instead, Derick says that people should just “get over it already.” Ugh. “QUESTION: What do you consider to be the most pressing civil rights questions?” Derick asked his followers on Twitter. It’s not the right question to ask, since no single issue can be tackled alone. Civil rights work has to be intersectional or it does little good. “Thank you!” Derick replied to a no-longer-available tweet. “There’s no right answer; I’m just interested in what people feel are the biggest issues.” “I agree with you,” he then affirmed to his follower. “That we should always treat everyone with dignity and fairness.” “Great!” replies another tweet, who then asks Derick: “So you can now apologize to @JazzJennings, right?” Instead of ignoring the tweet or replying “hey, that’s a good idea,” he instead doubled down on his general awfulness. “Oh get over it already,” Derick demanded. He wrote: “Any comments were directed @TLC and the parents.” “I love @JazzJennings,” he claimed, all evidence to the contrary. Then, in a sentence that would be random if you didn’t know how his twisted mind works, he concluded: “We have got to protect children!” See, Derick Dillard thinks that Jazz Jennings’ parents are “abusing” her by accepting and affirming who she is. While it’s absurd and insulting for anyone to claim that, it’s almost comical coming from someone who married into the Duggar family. Even before Josh’s molestation scandal was uncovered, the Duggars were notorious for their monstrously abusive parenting practices. In the mean time, Jazz’s parents simply let her be herself from a young age, giving her love and emotional support. But to Derick’s distorted worldview, a “good” parent would force their child to live out a lie that matches whatever was scribbled on their birth certificate. In August of 2017, totally out of the blue, Derick took to Twitter to rail against TLC for the show, I Am Jazz . I Am Jazz has followed Jazz Jennings for years as she experiences her teenage years. Jazz is very fortunate in that her family has been supportive of her gender since she was very young. She’s always know that she is a girl. She was also able to undergo bottom surgery — the term for genital alteration, sometimes known as gender confirmation surgery. Not all trans folks experience enough dysphoria to get bottom surgery (or have the money to afford it if they wanted to), but Jazz underwent that in 2018. TLC’s cameras followed Jazz through that part of her journey — and that’s part of why Derick thinks that the show is “bad.” Even though trans folks have existed across numerous cultures for thousands of years, Derick thinks that hiding their existence from kids will magically stop kids from being trans. That’s not a surprising point of view — his ilk have been saying the same about gay and bi people for generations. It’s not true for htem, either. What really happens when you raise your kids in a bubble where they don’t know about LGBTQ+ folks is that kids who are think something’s wrong with them. Some will go into denial. Others will live with their secret for decades, feeling misplaced shame over who they are. Either Derick would prefer that minorities remain silent, invisible, and miserable … or he really thinks that they just hear of trans people existing and go “oh, I’ll try that for fun.” So no, Derick, people are not going to “get over” your clownish transphobia. Might there be hope for Meri Brown yet? Might this long-time Sister Wives cast member actually be sticking around for the long run? A new photo on her official Instagram page makes us think this may actually be case. Amid rumors of her unhappiness in her marriage to Kody Brown , the reality star took to her social media platform last week to share a new selfie of her and Aurora Brown’s fun night out at an Andy Grammer concert. Aurora, of course, is the daughter of Kody and Robyn Brown. “Super fun night at the [Andy Grammer] concert tonight with this cute thing!” Brown, the first of Kodi’s wives, captioned the snapshot, which featured herself and Aurora posing in the crowd with the stage to their backs. Why is this notable? First, as many fans pointed out, because Meri and Aurora actually look a lot alike. “Two lovely Women. She actually looks a lot like you,” one individual wrote in a comment that drew more than a dozen Likes of agreement, while another added: “She looks like you 20 years ago. So beautiful.” Secondly, though, because we keep hearing rumors that Meri is sick of her situation with Kody and sick of being on the show in general. And while these rumors may be true, it has to say something positive about Meri’s state of mind when she’s out and about with Aurora, who is not even her biological daughter. Meri and Kody share a single child together, daughter Mariah Brown. Meanwhile, Kodi shares an additional 13 children with his three other wives. Yes, 13 more children! It’s quite a hectic set-up, and it’s one that has seemingly brought out a very bitter side in Meri of late. “Not everyone likes me. That’s ok, I like me,” she recently wrote on Instagram , standing up strongly for herself and adding: “People will criticize my shoes. That’s ok, I have foot issues and need to be careful what kind of shoes I wear to not cause too much pain. “People will mock my necklace because it’s not centered in this photo. That’s fine, I just did a little twirl and didn’t stop to check that it was straight before this photo was taken.” She doesn’t done, either. “People talk trash about my dark front tooth, that’s fine, I had fun as kid and fell and it killed it, but it didn’t kill me,” the TLC personality continued. “People will criticize my choice of outfit because they’re not comfortable with pattern mixing, but that’s ok, because I am, and I’m the one wearing this and I feel confident.” We applaud Meri for sticking it to all trolls, while we continue to wonder why she doesn’t remove herself from his unhealthy relationship. The bond she has Aurora, along with other kids in the family, likely explains a lot. Concluded Meri in her aforementioned post: People love to talk trash about my business choices, that’s ok, they don’t realize the truth because they just “google” their information. That’s ok, of all people, I’m one who knows what kind of “information” one gets when “googling” something. The fact of the matter is, I’m living MY life for ME, and I’m happy with it. By now, you probably know the story well. Back in April, David Eason shot and killed Nugget, his wife's 11-pound French bulldog. At the time, he claimed the dog was too dangerous to live and somehow presented a threat to the health and safety of his family. Realizing this made no sense, he backpedalled on the story, and Jenelle told the public that the dog simply went missing. Now, Eason is finally manning up and admitting to what he's done. He thinks his confession will help his wife rebuild her reputation and hawk her cosmetics line. We think his timing couldn't be worse. Take a look: 1. The Monster and the Martyr In a fit of rage, David beat little Nugget before shooting him at close range with a shotgun. The appalling act made Jenelle’s pet an animal rights mascot. 2. A Brutal Scene David did all of this while his children were at home, and the ensuing CPS investigation resulted in the Easons losing custody of the kids who were still permitted to live with them. (They had each lost custody of one child already.) 3. House of Lies David claimed that Nugget attacked and bit his daughter Ensley. However, the only evidence he was ever able to provide was this photo — which shows no bite marks or damage. 4. Jenelle’s Choice Evans briefly left Eason over the incident, but she quickly changed her mind and decided to stand by him — even if it meant losing her kids. 5. Muddying the Waters Nugget’s body was never found by police, and Jenelle used this fact to try to obscure the facts of what really happened that night. 6. She may not be a housewife, but we’re guessing Felicity Huffman is feeling mighty desperate these days, Along with fellow actress Lori Loughlin, Huffman is one of the faces of the college admissions bribery scandal , which made tabloid headlines back in March and continues to create endless legal nightmares for many well-heeled, but ethically-deficient parents. Basically, Loughlin and Huffman stand accused of handing out bribes in order to ensure their children’s admission to top colleges. Loughlin refused a plea deal and is planning to fight her charges in front of a judge. Huffman accepted a deal from prosecutors — but it looks like the court is still planning to make an example of her. According to documents filed on Friday, the U.S. Attorney’s office is recommending that Huffman pay a fine of $20,000 and serve one month in federal prison. “Huffman’s conduct was deliberate and manifestly criminal: it was wrong, she knew it was wrong, and she actively participated in manipulating her daughter’s guidance counselor, the testing services and the schools to which her daughter applied,” the documents read. “Her efforts weren’t driven by need or desperation, by a sense of entitlement, or at least moral cluelessness, facilitated by wealth and insularity,” prosecutors wrote. “Millions of parents send their kids to college every year. “All of them care as much as she does about the children’s fortunes. But they don’t buy fake SAT scores and joke about (‘Ruh ro!’) along the way.” The “Ruh ro!” remark is a reference to a comment Huffman made in an email to co-conspirator Rick Singer when she learned that her daughter’s high school would be using its own proctor for the SAT, which would make it more difficult for her daughter to cheat on the exam. Needless to say, it sounds as though prosecutors are taking Huffman’s case quite personally — and she’s certainly not receiving much sympathy from the public. According to TMZ, 27 people submitted letters of support defending Huffman’s actions, including her husband, William H. Macy, and her Desperate Housewives co-star Eva Longoria. But it doesn’t sound like those B-list pleas will be enough to keep Huffman from serving time. We imagine Loughlin — who, again, refused the deal that was offered to her by prosecutors — is shaking in her designer boots at the moment.

The rapper finally dropped his highly anticipated debut album, announced a new tour, filmed a new judge-style television show for Netflix called Rhythm & Flow , and most recently, he welcomed a new baby girl into the world. Of course, these are all great things to have on your calendar, but one of those seems to have come at the wrong time for Chance: his upcoming North American tour. The Chicago native took to his Instagram page to make the announcement that his tour, which was scheduled to start in only a few days, was going to be postponed . This news comes directly following the announcement that his wife gave birth to their second child together. “I thought it over for the past week and I’ve decided to push back my tour. This year has been one of the greatest of my life; Marriage, new baby, first album etc. But with it being so eventful it has also been very strenuous having to divide my time and energy between family and work. Reunited… and God, did it NOT feel good! On the Keeping Up with the Kardashians Season 17 premiere Sunday night, viewers were given a glimpse into Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson‘s first public hang-out since the latter cheated on his baby mama with Jordyn Woods in February. And at least one stunning development came out of this gathering. As the episode opened, the 35-year old mother of one confessed she still had “so many raw emotions” towards her ex in the wake of their split. “I’m really just trying to figure out my own life at the moment,” she said. “I’m just healing and processing and going through the motions.” Thompson, of course, slept with other women while Khloe was pregnant with their daughter. She gave him another chance, however, only for Tristan to then swap spit with a good friend of Khloe and her family’s less than a year later. According to Khloe, Tristan had been trying to see her right around when the Season 17 premiere was filmed… but she kept turning down these requests. “Tristan thinks people are disposable — if he sends me enough flowers or enough text messages, I’m going to come around,” she explained, continuing along this theme as follows: “I still have not spoken to Tristan face-to-face and right now, I am not ready to. “I know I’ll get to that place, but right now it’s really challenging and tough for me. My feelings are super raw and I am really humiliated and hurt by what he did to me.” Kardashian and Thompson share young True, who turned a year old in April. Despite all he has done to her, Khloe has never tried to keep her ex away from her daughter — which meant she felt compelled to invite Thompson to his child’s birthday party on this premiere. “It’s the first time Tristan and I will be in a public setting together,” Khloe said. “I’m envisioning a party full of people, Tristan walks in and everyone is staring at us — I don’t want this at my daughter’s first birthday party.” She then recounted all the ways in which Thompson has tried to make up for his wandering penis and tongue. “All Tristan does is sent countless amounts of flowers, calls, texts, and I just haven’t been ready to talk to him because I feel like it’s going to turn into a screaming match and I don’t care to scream,” Khloe told viewers. “But I said that I would be willing for the first time to speak to him if there’s a therapist involved.” With this on the table, the parents did alleegedly take part in an off-camera therapy session via FaceTime “to help co-parent True,” but but Khloe said it went very poorly. She then wondered why she invited Thompson to True’s party. Ultimately, Khloe choce actually invited Thompson over the night before the shindog they could “get the whole initial weird first seeing each other out of the way in private.” This did make sense, but it also meant their reunion wasn’t filmed for the show and we had to rely on Khloe telling her assistant that it was “pretty awkward” to have any idea what transpired. “He was just kind of lingering … He was like, ‘So, do you want to grab a glass of wine?’” Khloe said, adding that Tristan even tried to kiss her after she reluctantly gave him a hug. Wait… WHAT? And how did Khloe respond? “I go, ‘This is the problem with you. You can’t just take what you get,’” she said, adding: “Then this morning he was like, ‘Thank you for letting me see True. She looked great, you looked even better.’ … Sometimes I feel like if I give an inch, he’ll take a mile and take my kindness for weakness.” Look, we suppose this may have happened. But doesn’t it seem just as likely that Khloe just made it all up for the sake of a storyline? It’s not like Thompson is in a place to publicly deny anything. As for how things went at the party? Khloe was mostly concerned about how Thompson would interact with Kim Kardashian , who had been a rather harsh critic ever since the Woods debacle. “This situation, it’s a little awkward,” Khloe said. “Everyone is staring at us and I’m really concerned, a little uncomfortable, about Kim and Tristan’s dynamic.” She should have been worried aboout Tristan and Kanye’s dynamic, as it turned out. Footage was shown on E! of the two having an animated conversation — and while there was no audio, the rapper later claimed that Thompson was upset about the fact that the family used the intro to West’s song “Runaway” in a Season 17 teaser. (The lyrics reference toasting to “a—holes” and “scumbags.”) “He felt like we were using my music to reinforce his narrative,” West said, after which an angry Khloe fumed. “I don’t need at my daughter’s birthday party for any of this to be a discussion,” she said. “I know everyone’s intention is to help and be protective,” she added. “But at True’s birthday party, it’s not the right timing.” In conclusion, while Thompson is feuding with Kanye, he’s supposedly getting help from a past Kanye rival.
