State Trooper Offers Grieving Man Unexpected, Inspiring Assistance

We’re living in a scary moment in history. The relationship between police officers and the citizens they are meant to protect has never been worse. But perhaps the following story will serve as some kind of turning point. Or, at minimum, put a smile on your face. Around 3 a.m. on Sunday, Mark Ross discovered that his 15-year old younger sister, Eliza Fletcher, had been killed in a car crash. In a desperate panic, he enlisted the help of a friend to make the immediate drive from Ohio to Detroit in order to be with his grieving mother. According to Inside Edition, however, an officer pulled their car over for speeding at approximately 100 miles per hour. When the officer saw that the driver of the vehicle had his license was suspended and that Ross had an outstanding warrant, he subsequently towed their car. Ross was left stranded. Moreover, there was a good chance he was going to prison for the warrant. But then Ohio State Highway Patrol Sergeant David Robison showed up on the scene… and things started looking up. In a lengthy post on Facebook, Ross said he explained how Robison responded once he learned exactly what was going on. Here is what Ross wrote, as pictured above: At 3am I got a phone call stating that my sister had been killed in a car accident due to some young dumb punk! I haven’t slept and instantly got on the road. Of course we were speeding, trying to get back to Detroit. And we got pulled over in Ohio. I knew I was going to Jail due to a petty warrant. The police called Wayne county and they refused to come get me because of the distance. I explained to the officer that my sister had died and that I needed to get to my mother asap. I broke down crying and he saw the sincerity in my cry. He REACHES OVER AND BEGAN PRAYING OVER ME AND MY FAMILY. He offered to bring me 100 miles further to Detroit because they towed the vehicle. Everybody knows how much I dislike Cops but I am truly Greatful for this Guy. He gave me hope. This story is giving us all hope. The Facebook post above has been shared over 103,000 times at last check. Inside Edition even says the officer who drove Ross all the way to Michigan will be attending his sister’s funeral. Pretty amazing, huh? Especially in light of all that’s been happening around the country over the past few months. Here is a photo of Ross’ late sister. May she rest in peace. Jose Fernandez: Tragic Details of Star Pitcher’s Final Hours Emerge

Early on the morning of September 25,  Miami Marlins pitching phenom Jose Fernandez was killed in a boating accident . The two-time MLB All-Star and former National League rookie of the year was just 24 years old. In their first game back following Fernandez’s tragic passing, the Marlins paid loving tribute to Fernandez, with the entire team wearing his jersey. Fernandez’s friend and teammate Dee Gordon led off the game with a home run – his first in 358 days – and welled up with tears as he rounded the bases. Two friends of Fernandez’s, Eddy Rivero and Emilio Macias, were also killed when Fernandez’s 32-foot fishing boat crashed into a jetty off the coast of Miami Beach. Now, details about what brought all three men our on that fateful late-night excursion are beginning to emerge thanks to information provided by family and friends. According to several of his teammates was eager to head out on the water due to a fight with his pregnant girlfriend. Aware of his fragile emotional state, friends say they cautioned him to be careful. “That night I told him, ‘Don’t go out,’” outfielder Marcell Ozuna told the Miami Herald . “Everybody knew he was crazy about that boat and loved being out on the water. I told him I couldn’t go out that night because I had the kids and my wife waiting for me.” Fernandez assured Ozuna that all would be well and asked his friend to help make sure he made it to the ballpark on time the following morning: “He told me if I didn’t hear from him by 10 a.m. (Sunday) to call him and wake him up so he could get back to the ballpark on time for the game,” Ozuna said “I told him, ‘Yeah no problem. I’ll call you.’ I woke up Sunday and that’s when I found out. I cried and cried.” Will Bernal, a close friend of Rivero’s posted the above photo, along with his and Rivero’s final text message exchange, on his Instagram page. As you can see, Bernal also had concerns about the planned boating trip. He captioned the photo: “Our last phone conversation and text messages last night. I feel sick to my stomach. “Everyone is talking about Jose Fernandez but you died trying to be there for him and be a good friend. This doesn’t sit with me well. “I can’t get over this nightmare. I already miss you and our daily conversations. You died being a great friend. “I feel guilty that I didn’t do a better job of trying to convince you not get on that boat. You told me just so I know in case something happens. You had a gut feeling and that is killing me. View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Passed Away in 2016: Gone, But Not Forgotten “You were loved by many and I’ll do my best to stay involved with them. Lauren and I will keep you in our prayers. Rest In Peace brother. Love you little bro Eddy Rivero.” Authorities say no signs of drug or alcohol use were present at the crash site. At this point, it is unclear which of the three men was driving the boat. We’ll have further updates on this story as more information becomes available.

Herman Echevarria Dead; The Real Housewives of Miami Star Was 61

It is with a heavy heart that we report the passing of Herman Echevarria Sr.  Details are sketchy at the moment, but there are reports that The Real Housewives of Miami star was found dead in the Epic Hotel in Miami. The reports state family and employees grew concerned for Herman when he failed to show up for work.  They knew something was wrong when he did not pick up his phone.  There’s word that Herman died of a heart attack, but this has yet to be confirmed. Herman appeared on the Bravo series with his ex-wife, Alexia Echevarria for three seasons before the show was unofficially canceled.  It never managed to reach the levels of success of the other spin-offs in the franchise, but that did not mean it was lacking in drama.  Herman and Alexia confirmed the news that they had separated in May 2015. The couple were allegedly arguing for much of their final years together.  However, the two of them continued to run Venue magazine together.  It was noted that Herman would continue to play a big role in the lives of Alexia’s two sons from her previous marriage.  Alexia has been very vocal in the past about how Herman served as a father figure to her children.  If you recall, Alexia’s previous husband, Pedro Luis Rosello was sentenced to 24 years in prison. He was found to be part of one of the largest cocaine smuggling operations in the 1980s.  UPDATE : Alexia released a statement addressing her ex-husband’s death: “The Echevarria family is heartbroken over the sudden passing of our patriarch Herman Echevarria this morning.” “He was a family man, a hardworking businessman, dedicated to helping others and a pillar of his community that was loved by everyone who’s life he touched.” “We ask that you please respect our privacy during this time of grieving.” We extend our thoughts and prayers to the Echevarria family at this difficult time.  View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Passed Away in 2016: Gone, But Not Forgotten

LeBron James Expresses Support for Colin Kaepernick

LeBron James will be standing for the national anthem when the 2016-2017 NBA season kicks off this fall. But he's also standing up for Colin Kaepernick right here and now. Asked at a press conference on Monday for his take on Kaepernick, who continues to make headlines for kneeling during the national anthem in protest of social injustice, James said the following: Me standing for the national anthem is something I will do. That's who I am. That's what I believe in.” HOWEVER… “That doesn't mean I don't respect and don't believe in what Colin Kaepernick is doing. You have the right to voice your opinion, stand for your opinion, and he's doing it in the most peaceful way I've ever seen someone do something.” James also believes in the same cause as Kaepernick. Along with three other NBA superstars, he opened the ESPY Awards in July with a speech against gun violence and racial tension in America. “My personal feelings is that I got a 12-year-old son, a 9-year-old son and a 2-year-old daughter, and I look at my son being four years removed from driving his own car and being able to leave the house on his own, and it's a scary thought right now to think if my son gets pulled over,” James said. “You tell your kids if you just apply [the lessons you teach them] and if you just listen to the police that they will be respectful and it will work itself out. And you see these videos that continue to come out, and it's a scary-ass situation that if my son calls me and says that he's been pulled over that I'm not that confident that things are going to go well and my son is going to return home.  “And my son just started the sixth grade.” While LeBron says he won't be following Kaepernick's exact actions, he still showed support for the quarterback. And he takes issue with anyone who does not. “What I do not like about the situation is the negative attention that has been thrown upon him by some people because it's not deserved,” James said. “He was very educated, very smart, very candid and very demanding about what he wanted to do, and he didn't ask anyone else to join him. And he did it in the most peaceful manner I've ever seen anyone stand up and do something. So I can respect that. “And the things that I do personally, when I'm knowledgeable about it and I'm passionate about it, I'll do that as well and let you guys know when those things are because I'll tell you.” Watch snippets from LeBron's comments on the topic below:

Hailey Baldwin is So Street in NYC of the Day

Hailey Baldwin is so edgy…so urban…it’s like all I see is some street kid living in the projects selling crack to buy music equipment for her Hip Hop career…or prostitute career…like I’m watching a modern take on KIDS…wearing her Biker Gang hat, and posing on cars she doesn’t own….which makes her a better actor than her dad…it doesn’t mask the fast that she’s some entitled Hollywood rich kid brat who hangs out with the Kardashian / Jenners to leverage her own personal brand – to give her some sort of way to live her own life outside of being a Baldwin, while using her Baldwin money, connections and name to open as many doors as possible….. She’s not that hot, she’s definitely not doing anything interesting beyond the vapid instagram bullshit of being in exclusive places with exclusive people…and I just see a waste of opportunity, who chose to be an instagram whore rather than doing good with her life…but she’s still young, lots more disappointment left in her…as she books actual jobs and sees relevant to a world of retards who think she’s relevant… The post Hailey Baldwin is So Street in NYC of the Day appeared first on DrunkenStepfather .

Dad Sets Inspiring Example for Daughter, World in General

So… how do you start your morning? With irritation at the alarm clock? With a hot shower you never want to leave? With a cup of coffee you slurp down before hitting the road? With a smile? Probably not, right? And almost definitely not the way Ron Alston and his three-year-old daughter, Aliyah, start their mornings everyday. In a Facebook video that has gone viral (to the tune of over 13 million shares!), Alston and his adorable child are simply standing in front of a mirror. But then you need to see what happens next: Dad and Daughter Share Morning Affirmation, Set Example for Entire Internet As you can see above, daddy is holding up daughter and smiling over her shoulder. He’s then making her repeat a handful of affirmations in order to instill in Aliyah a combination of self-confidence, respect and humility. I am strong , he says first, asking his young daughter to then follow suit. I am smart. I work hard. I am beautiful. I am respectful. I’m not better than anyone. Nobody is better than me. I am amazing. “What are you?” father then asked toddler, to which she replied: “I am blessed.” The loved ones then conclude their ritual with the following lines: “Thank you God for making me the greatest. There’s nobody better than me.” A high-five and a kiss follows and then it’s time to really start their day. Pretty amazing, right? The sort of thing we could all learn from, no? You don’t need to go through this daily routine, of course. But perhaps keep these words and these messages in mind on a regular basis and see how they improve your outlook on life. In an interview with Babble, Alston explained: “I want her to understand and experience the world from her perspective and then learn to cope with the feelings that come with each interaction. “I feel that the most important thing I do is encourage her to try.” Why did he film this and share it online? “I was inspired to film the moment between Aliya and I just so that she can see it later in her life when she is older. “This is something we do everyday in the morning before we leave the house, no matter what, although the affirmations do change and the pep talk in the beginning may change depending on what is happening or has happened.” Sorry, all other dads around the world. You’re just playing for second place now in the Father of the Year contest.

Natalie Suleman: Octomom is Dead, I Had to Kill Her!

In 2009, Nadya Suleman gave birth to octuplets via IVF after Dr. Michael Kamrava injected her with 12 embryos. Fast forward seven years, and Suleman insists that that she only wanted one more child, since at the time she was an unemployed single mother of six children. Since then, Dr. Kamrava had his medical license revoked, and Suleman has changed her name to “Natalie.” She’s also “killed” the nickname given to her by the press, “Octomom” in an attempt to move forward with her children as a normal mother. “Everything I ever did was for money to put food on the table,” Suleman told the Daily Mail . “Everyone thinks I had all these donations and help but I didn’t – I did everything on my own and paid everything out of my own pocket so I was Octomom for four years. Suleman did porn, took part in bikini photo shoots, all so that her 14 children wouldn’t go hungry. “The last two years of it were so dark,” Suleman admitted. “I descended down a very dark and destructive path .” Suleman “exploited” and “dehumanized” herself by stripping and getting into the adult industry, but she insists that she and her family were “on the verge of homelessness,” so she felt she had no choice. “The consequence of exploiting myself was deep toxic shame and self disgust,” she said. “To continue I had to numb and that’s when I started with the prescription drugs.   “I wasn’t able to exploit myself and do what I was doing without it, which became a problem – it wasn’t healthy .” Because her line of work required her to look the part, Suleman opted for plastic surgery. However, she didn’t get nearly as much as the media claimed, nor did she spend money that was reserved for her children. “I had a breast augmentation after breastfeeding three kids, which I paid for myself as I was working,” she admitted. “I had a tummy tuck after the octuplets after a media outlet promised me $100,000 to pose nude. In 2008 she got lip injections, which left her feeling “ashamed,” she told the Mail . “The media created the character and I shamefully embraced it in 2009 out of scarcity and desperation to survive “This is not something I ever wanted but I think every single mother can understand the challenges we face.” At one point, Suleman decided she’d had enough of her job, and told her manager she was quitting. Her manager said she would face a lawsuit if she didn’t show up, so Suleman took her lumps and went to the job. After she wrapped, Suleman came home to find her 10-year-old daughter, Amerah playing dress-up in a pair of Suleman’s spiked heels. “Later on I was cleaning up in the middle of the night and I saw that heel on the stair and the kids were all sleeping,” Suleman recalled. “All my emotions I’d suppressed started to bubble out into rage and I took the heel and threw it across the house and it stuck in the wall. “It was like I’d escaped prison. That character of Octomom was dead.” These days, Suleman works as a counselor.  It’s a vocation she knows well, since she was a nurse before the infamy took over her life. “Before that I worked as a psychiatric nurse for a decade – altogether on and off I’ve been in the helping profession for over 20 years,” she said. Still, it’s tough for the Sulemans to make ends meet, so they do get help from the government. “We still get a little welfare – we get food stamps,” she said “There’s a misconception of welfare.  I’ve been working for three and a half years and people think I’m a lazy welfare recipient.   “Everyone thinks people on welfare don’t work but welfare is supplemental.  “My kids eat three times the amount that food stamps provide so I have to work to feed them.  ‘I’ve been helping drug addicts and alcoholics, so I’m doing the hard work not the easy exploitative work. I’m back to who I am.’  And at the end of the day, Suleman can look her children in the eyes and tell them the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. “My kids know what I did as Octomom I tell them the truth,” she said.  “I’ve told them I’ve done some very bad and shameful things and they say, ‘It’s okay mom we love you anyway and we’ll always love you.’ “They know I did it for them. We don’t have kid conversations, we have deep and intellectual conversations about all of this. They are so smart and so aware.” RIP Octomom.

Police On The Hunt For Styles P Lookalike After A 41-Yr-Old Bronx Man Dies From Beating [Video]

NYDAILYNEWS : A Bronx man collapsed and died after a creep punched him to the ground and then kicked him in the head, police said Tuesday. Willy Montilla, 41, was felled by three punches to the chest at about 9:45 a.m. Monday by Westchester Ave. and Hugh Grant Circle in Parkchester, police said. His attacker then kicked him twice in the head. Montilla struggled to his feet, tried to hail a cab and fell to the ground unconscious. Sources said a cabbie mistakenly thought Montilla was drunk and refused to take the fare. Investigators are awaiting autopsy results to determine if the beating is what killed Montilla, who died after emergency personnel took him to Jacobi Medical Center. An NYPD spokesman couldn’t say Tuesday night what led to the attack. Longtime gal pal Yvette Pagan remembered Montilla as the “cool guy” in their Fordham Heights neighborhood, saying that he took care of her children as if they were his own. “He was always here for me and my kids,” Pagan said. “He loved children. Everybody, he cared for everybody.” Pagan said Montilla was on disability and collected scrap metal and painted on the side. He moved to Parkchester three months ago. She didn’t know why the men were arguing or if Montilla knew his attacker. “He never was in trouble like fighting,” Pagan added. “I don’t know if he even knew people over there.” Police released photos of a man wanted for questioning in the assault. He’s described as 25 to 35 years old and between 5-foot-7 and 6 feet tall. He wore sunglasses, a dark-colored hooded sweater, light blue jeans, black boots and a black baseball cap, cops said.
