Amber Portwood and Gary Shirley: Can They Make Co-Parenting Work?

Amber Portwood and Gary Shirley may not be back together, but that doesn’t mean they can’t raise their daughter, Leah as a team. ” Me and Gary sat on his front porch and talked about everything,” Portwood told People Magazine ahead of Teen Mom OG ‘s season premiere tonight. “[We were] like ‘Okay, what should we do?’ And we made the decision that he would take primary custody, simply because we didn’t want to take her out of her school. “She’s going to a really great school and she’s in an advanced class and I don’t want to take that away from her.” Last week, MTV shared a preview of Portwood discussing custody with her friend, Krystal.   Portwood revealed that the animosity between her and Gary was affecting the 7-year-old, so she decided to put whatever issues she has with her ex aside for the well-being of their daughter. I have her on my weekends and during the summer we had her back and forth 50/50. It was great. I would have her for like a week straight and we’re doing really good with this.” What’s even better is that Portwood and Shirley don’t have to go back to court to discuss custody.  It’s not, however, smooth sailing for this famously volatile duo. She’s so beautiful; I don’t know where she gets it. It’s crazy. “She’s the greatest big sister to Emily. She loves that little girl. It’s the cutest thing. And Emily kind of looks like her when she was little. Lane Graves Alligator Attack: More Details Emerge On Toddler’s Fatal Injuries

The drowning of 2-year-old Lane Graves by an alligator at Walt Disney World’s Grand Floridian Resort still haunts members of the public two months later. On the evening of June 14th, Graves was wading in the shallow waters of Seven Seas Lagoon, Disney’s man-made lake when an alligator snatched and dragged him underwater . The little boy’s body was found by divers six feet under water the next day,  just 10-15 feet away from where he was attacked.  Radar Online obtained a copy of the full autopsy , which rules the death as an “accident” and notes that Graves sustained fatal injuries to his “neck, scalp and skull.” Graves, whose family was enjoying a movie night on the beach, was “dressed in a pair of blue shorts” with a disposable diaper underneath, “worn with a short-sleeved T-shirt emblemized with the American flag.” The most severe injuries, according to the report, were around Graves’ head. “The right side of the scalp,” the coroner noted, revealed “a vertically-oriented laceration measuring 2.3 x 0.3 cm.” with “a maximal depth of 0.4 cm. “The skin on the left side of the hair-bearing scalp in the parietal region has two recent puncture wounds.” Graves’ skull was fractured, and the coroner found “abrasions on his eyelid, eyebrow and jaw.”  He concluded that Graves “died as the result of cranio-cervical trauma and drowning.” The alligator was eventually caught and killed by authorities.  Even though there is no swimming permitted in the lagoon, signs did not warn resort guests that alligators, snakes and other dangerous animals inhabited the waters.  Prior to the accident, lounge chairs would be set up on the beach for people to sunbathe, and the resort also hosted movie nights, like the one the Nebraska-based Graves took part in before their son was killed. Graves’ father, Matt tried to wrestle the boy out of the jaws of the alligator, but it was too late. We continue to keep the Graves family in our thoughts.

Is It Wrong For Kim Kardashian To Market Products Using Photos Of Her Children Kim Kardashian is putting out a new edition of her ‘Selfie’ book and just this weekend she shared one of the photos from it — a rare photo of baby Saint with Kim and North West. Super cute right? But we noticed a few people commenting that she’s treating her kids like accessories. Ouch. We can’t help but wonder how much strategy goes into every Saint West appearance . Anyway we thought it would make a good question of the day. What do you think about Kim using her kids to promote her projects and products? On the one hand, isn’t it the very thing that every Mommy blogger does? On the other, you have people saying she’s exploiting her kids. What do you think?

Be still my heart. One dad in Brazil recorded his young son watching an ultrasound from his mother's check-up.   According to Mashable , the boy was captivated by the video , until his dad told him that there were two siblings in mom's tummy. “I can see the baby's face,” the kid siad, clearly having no idea what he was looking at. “Can you?” the dad asked. “Yes, I'm seeing it.” Dad called his bluff. “Do you know what it is?” “No.” “Your sibling.” “Is it?” “And they're two.” “Really?” “Really!” “Holy cow, dude,” the boy said before slowly starting to tear up. “What's happening, boy?” the dad asked. Wait for it, because this is friggin' adorably. “I'm touched,” the little guy said through tears. ALL.  THE.  FEELS. Recording reactions to moments like these are the antidote to the Hot Mess Express train humanity is forced to ride on these days.   For every video of Donald Trump either threatening assassination against his opponent or making fun of a disabled journalist, there are little moments like this one that make us smile. The smiles don't stop there.  Remember the little girl who didn't want her brother to grow up, so she bawled her eyes out in protest? And then there was “Charlie Bit My Finger,” which instantly became a viral hit. I hope the little Brazilian boy gets everything in life his little heart hopes for, because he reaction to having not one, but two younger siblings was nothing sort of beautiful. What a lovely way to respond to becoming a big brother.  He's psyched about his growing family, and there is no way you can fake those kind of tears. Good luck to you, little boy, and your growing family. Now if you'll excuse us, we're going to have ourselves a good cry.

19-Year-Old Parents Welcome Identical Triplets Into the World

Move over, Farrah Abraham and Jenelle Evans . Prepare to meet a teen mom who has even more to deal with than you do. Fortunately, she won’t have to do so alone. In fact, Amber Hills may never be alone ever again. Hills and Logan Brown-Fletcher – both 19 years old and residents of Newberg, Oregon – welcomed three daughters into the world on August 1. Their names are Raelyn, Avery and Elaina. But it gets even crazier: The three daughters are IDENTICAL triplets. The infants – who respectively weighed in at 2 pounds, 12 ounces; 3 pounds, 11 ounces; and 2 pounds, 15 ounces – were delivered by caesarean section 33 weeks into Amber’s pregnancy at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center.  This is the average gestational age for triplets. “My dad has multiples in his family, so I figured it would happen to me someday,” Amber told Us Weekly of her reaction to learning she was having three kids. However, her fiancé was in for the shock of his life. “I was crying and swearing!” Brown-Fletcher admits. Yeah. We would be, too! Logan has since calmed down and gained some perspective, however. “I was a little scared because I was still in high school and working a small job with not many hours,” he says. “But as we started to approach their due date, I was like, ‘This is going to be life changing, but I am ready.’” View Slideshow: 29 Tweets That Remind Us of What Motherhood is All About Sadly, both Amber and Logan did not receive full support from those around them. “A lot of our friends weren’t very supportive at first,” Brown-Fletcher says. “They were all like, “You are too young, you are not ready.'” And then, of course, there was the Internet. With Amber chronicling her pregnant journey on Instagram, the trolls came out in full force. It’s a good thing these daughters have a father with his head screwed on right. “They don’t know who we are,” Logan says of the critics. They have never met us, so they have no idea whether we are too young. We are both pretty mature for our age. And we know what we are doing.” Neonatologist Craig Novak says the kids are expected to leave Providence St. Vincent Medical Center within the next two to four weeks. So far, so very good when it comes to their health. “I’m just excited to take them home and be a family together in one house,” says Brown-Fletcher.

Farrah Abraham: Not Addicted To Plastic Surgery…Anymore!

We’ve had the pleasure of learning so much about Farrah Abraham lately, more than we had ever bargained for.   Abraham went on the Allegedly podcast to promote season six of Teen Mom OG (premiering August 22nd), and no topic was off-limits.  Not her nightly rate , not her plastic surgery, and certainly not her policy on makeup in elementary schools. Abraham’s features have (for lack of a better word) changed over the years.  In 2015 she even appeared on an episode of Botched after some sketchy lip injections left her in quite a state. But I’m not addicted to anything.   “The only things that I had to fix were breasts, because I was getting serious scarring, I felt like I was having a heart attack multiple nights in a row, so I had to change up my regimen.” Right.  Anyway, she’s as natural as she every going to be, so we might as well get used to it. As for how she raises her daughter, Sophia and how much bronzer she’s allowed to apply, that’s Abraham’s damn business.  Sophia Abraham Dancing Video So, when the call from Sophia’s elementary school came in that makeup wasn’t allowed, Abraham marched down to the principal’s office to defend her daughter’s right to contour. “You know, when your kids are 5 or 6 they already start playing with makeup,” Abraham said. “And I was the only mother in freakin’ elementary school getting called in to deal with makeup on her daughter.” Abraham dealt with the principal the only way she knew how, by treating the administrator like her own mother, Debbo. “So I said to them – and I proved my point because then the principal switched schools – I go, ‘Well then you should take off your makeup. If you don’t want little girls coming to school with makeup then don’t wear makeup,'” Abraham recalled. “And then ever since I’ve seen that principal she hasn’t had makeup on her face.”  Slow claps for Abraham and her ace parenting techniques. Donald Trump May Have Just Called For Hillary Clinton Assassination

There are jokes, and then there's the stuff that comes out of Donald Trump's mouth. As you're probably aware from having been alive for the past 14 months, Trump's presidential campaign has been plagued from the start by gaffes and fallout from the candidate's often bizarre attempts at humor. Many believe that the real estate mogul's “jokes” have veered into criminal territory in recent weeks, such as when Trump suggested that he hopes Vladimir Putin was able to hack into Hillary Clinton's email server. Now, Team Trump is once again scrambling to justify a shocking off-the-cuff remark about Clinton, and this time it's being widely interpreted as a veiled, violent threat. After claiming that Clinton seeks to “abolish” the Second Amendment (The former secretary of state has repeatedly insisted that she has no intention of doing so.), Trump went on to suggest that his anti-gun control supporters may be able to forcibly “stop” Clinton: “If she gets to pick her judges – nothing you can do, folks,” Trump told his crowd. “Although, the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don't know.” For obvious reasons, many have taken the comment as Trump's suggestion that gun owners should use force – and firearms, if necessary – to prevent Clinton from taking office. Not surprisingly, the Trump campaign quickly issued a statement explaining that the remark had been misinterpreted by the media: “It’s called the power of unification—2nd Amendment people have amazing spirit and are tremendously unified, which gives them great political power,” Trump senior aide Jason Miller said in a statement sent out shortly after the rally. “And this year, they will be voting in record numbers, and it won’t be for Hillary Clinton, it will be for Donald Trump.” This latest controversy comes on the heels of a week that's been rife with PR debacles for Trump. While most have been fairly minor (the 70-year-old former reality star kicked a baby out of a campaign rally and accepted a Purple Heart medal offered to him by a wounded war veteran), the impact on Trump's popularity has been considerable. Right-leaning media outlets have attempted to distract from Trump's hellish week by raising (thus far unfounded) concerns about Hillary Clinton's health , but it doesn't look as though they've been successful. Clinton now leads Trump by a double-digit margin both nationally and in key battleground states.
