Source: NBC / Getty The Tonight Show Is Officially Doing A Night In Puerto Rico Jimmy Fallon and his whole crew over at The Tonight Show are all set to hit the road to air a special episode from Puerto Rico on January 15. It will all go down during the 24-show run of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton on the island, which is going to raise relief funds in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. The news was announced during an interview with Miranda for Monday night’s episode of The Tonight Show . The January episode–on which Miranda will be a guest, of course–will highlight the nation’s efforts to rebuild after the hurricane that struck the island back in September. The episode is going to feature an exclusive performance of the musical’s new touring cast along with Miranda, who is reprising his lead role in the play Both Fallon and Miranda were ecstatic as they announced the plan on the program last night. This isn’t the first time The Tonight Show has taken their live show to the streets and performed in venues outside of the famous 30 Rock. Back in September, Fallon’s late-night show did a live episode from New York’s Central Park. They’ve also done numerous stints on the other side of the country in Los Angeles, California.

In the latest condemnation of his fellow rapper, Snoop made his feelings about Ye very clear as he posted an Instagram video bumping some Drake in the car before going on to tell Kanye he needs to get off his phone and handle his issues in person. “Is y’all getting tired of Kanye West and these tweets? ‘Cause I am,” Snoop sbegan, while Drizzy’s “From Time” played in the background. “I see why n***a, you and Donald Trump hangout. N***a, y’all tweet like a motherf**ker. I think that n***a need Dr. Phil or Maury … You know what? That n***a need Jerry Springer.” The Long Beach native went on to criticize Yeezy for addressing Drake over social media and told him to “get your a** off your phone and go holla at that n***a in real life. Stop telling the whole f**king world what you’re going through. We don’t give a f**k!” Even though Kanye made a point of praising Snoop in his recent rant (despite his public disapproval of Ye’s recent actions) it looks like the Tha Doggfather was still unimpressed. Taylor Swift turned 29 years old on Thursday, December 13. Happy birthday, girl! And a new report says that she can expect a whopper of a post-birthday present any day now from boyfriend Joe Alwyn . Joe is apparently very eager to propose to her. So romantic! Us Weekly reports that Taylor Swift could get a proposal any day now from her British boyfriend. “Joe is very keen on proposing soon,” an insider reveals. We sure hope that this isn’t spoiling any surprises that he might have in store for Taylor! “But,” the source says. “He wants to make it unforgettable.” “And,” the insider continues, Joe wants to make it “extremely special.” We should hope so — there’s only one Taylor Swift. You don’t want a less-than-stellar proposal. But apparently he shouldn’t be too worried. The key to proposing to Taylor may simply be to, well, be his charming self. “He’s her dream guy,” the source gushes. She’s dated some of the hottest and most famous dudes on the planet. But it looks like she and Joe just clic k. So whatever he has planned, it sounds like Taylor’s answer is expected to be in the affirmative. According to the insider’s prediction: “Taylor’s going to be over the moon.” Part of Joe’s appeal as a boyfriend — and perhaps, as a future fiance or even spouse — is that he’s comfortable in Taylor’s shadow. “She can be herself and be open,” the source explains. As pregnant Duchess Meghan Markle defies the monarchy , she may find that she needs new friends. It turns out that she won’t have to look far, because Kim Kardashian is reportedly angling to befriend her. Kim believes that the way to worm her way into Meghan’s life is by finding the perfect royal baby present. Heat magazine reports that Kim Kardashian has concocted a scheme to become besties with the Duchess of Sussex. “Meghan’s baby isn’t even born yet,” an insider points out. That’s true — Meghan Markle is due some time in April. “But,” the source says. “Kim is already brainstorming an OTT present.” In this context, OTT stands for over the top . “Which she hopes,” the insider elaborates. “Will seal her long-held ambition.” Apparently, the source says, it has been Kim’s fondest wish “to make Meg a friend.” “Money is no object,” Kim has reportedly said on the subject. Well, that’s more or less a given when it comes to Kim, who is wealthy even by her very rich family’s impressive standards. “The arrival of the royal baby will be a perfect time for her to remind Meghan and Harry that she and Kanye are thoughtful people,” the insider says. Well, Kim is very thoughtful. Kanye is … complicated. “And, the source notes. “She’s looking to stand out from all the other celebrities.” According to the insider, Kim wants to draw attention to herself “with something truly impressive.” No, she is not referring to her butt. Apparently, Kim is going above and beyond as she tries to choose the most perfect royal baby gift. “She’s been getting her people to research everything,” the source reports. The insider says that they are pouring over possibilities “from diamond baby jewelry to crystal nursery decor.” That sounds a little gaudy, but … we’ve all seen the royal aesthetic. It was conceived before taste was invented. “Kim is convinced she and Meghan will be best friends one day,” the source claims. Interesting! That said, Kim has zero expectations that Meghan Markle is just going to wake up one day and want to hang out with Kim nonstop. “It’s very much a long-term project,” the insider explains. “And,” the source continues. “She’s chipping away.” The insider says that Kim is looking for ways “to impress her when the opportunities arise.” So, basically, this is like any seduction, just with a much higher budget. We can understand Kim’s alleged process here. Most of us have been there, even if we weren’t conscious of it when we were doing it. It’s not uncommon for people to deliberately make friends with someone who is super popular — or to try to make friends. Kim just has unlimited resources at her disposal while she tries to strategize. But will her wealth and fame be enough to impress her way into Meghan’s inner circle? That is a very tall order, these days. Meghan probably knows how to spot fake friends and inauthentic “new friends” a mile away. She’d have to, given what her life is like these days. But is this report about Kim’s ever-growing ambitions true? We … do not know. While it is easy to imagine that anyone might want to befriend Duchess Meghan, this report is entirely unconfirmed. We’ll take it with a grain of salt. And if it’s true … well, maybe we’ll actually feel sorry for Jonathan Cheban for being replaced. On top of revealing how Jorge’s prison sentence has changed her life for the worst, Anfisa Nava recently explained why they’re done with the show. She says that negotiations for a pay raise fell through, and that she and Jorge didn’t want to be TLC’s “little b–ches.” Anfisa was throwing shade at her former castmates, and Paola and Russ have issued a response. Anfisa has dedicated a lot of her free time to bodybuilding recently, but she still makes time for her fans. “We had to make a choice,” Anfisa explained recently. “Either we go into something on our own, like our YouTube channel and other things,” Anfisa said. “Or,” she continued. “We had to become the show’s little b–ches and do whatever they tell us to do, like some people.” It was that final jab that caught the attention of fans, and ultimately prompted Russ and Paola to respond. In a very lengthy YouTube video (Paola and Russ want fans to watch their 15 minute YouTube video? In this economy?), they replied. “It was very undermining, the way it was stated, and it generalized the cast,” Russa states. “And we just didn’t appreciate that,” “If you’re going to make jabs,” Russ suggests. “And you’re going to call someone out, then do it.” “But don’t generalize it, because, in the end, we’re all a part of this,” he says. Generalizing hurts everyone. He has a point. “And,” Russ says. “We all want to be a part of this.” Paola and Russ continue, saying that the show has helped them to build a base of fans and to connect with viewers. “And thanks to the show, all of you know about us,” Paola says. “To be honest,” Pao continues. “We are grateful to have been on the show for so many seasons.” That’s a very positive attitude. Russ and Paola go on to praise Danielle Mullins and Mohamed Jbali for bringing attention to 90 Day Fiance . They say that the controversial couple “really put the show on the map.” We don’t dispute that. Paola then praised Danielle for having been so smart with how she spent the money that she made from the series. The timing of that was awkward, since Danielle has been begging fans for cash . To be fair, Danielle invested her money into her home and into furthering her education. It wasn’t frivilous spending. Paola and Russ then suggest that Anfisa was trying to bite off more than she could chew with TLC. “Just because that specific person is not getting the ridiculous amount of money that she’s asking,” Paola says. It’s clear that the person to whom they are referring is Anfisa. “Yeah,” Russ adds.” I mean, they’re asking something along the lines of Kim Kardashian.” That’s a doozy of a claim. We have trouble beliving that Anfisa wants $500,000 per episode. We suspect that Russ and Paola don’t realize how much Kim makes per episode — or how much they themselves could be making. “Even more than what Kim Kardashian can get,” Pao claims, “And let’s be honest — this is not MTV, this is not E! Entertainment television.” “And at the end, yeah, the money is good,” Paola says. “But the idea of doing this show is not just about the money.” Well, she and Russ both work. Anfisa has not been shy about being fixated on money. Pao has other priorities. “You have fun,” Paola says. “You enjoy it. You want to share your story.” Paola is great, but she’s missing the mark about this. TLC is a television network, not a cobbled-together YouTube channel. And 90 Day Fiance ratings tend to outpace other major reality series. Maybe the stars have been told that they can only afford to make $1,000 or so per episode. But many suspect that they could be making a whole lot more, with TLC still turning a tidy profit. After Paola shared the video, she received some heated comments from diehard Anfisa stans. Yes, they exist. Paola defended herself and Russ. “She is trying to stay irrelevant by trashing the show and the cast,” Paola says of Anfisa’s abruptly ended reality career. Pao says “calling us ‘little bitches of the network’ just because she didn’t get what she wants it’s ridiculous!” “If she hates the show so much,” Paola suggests. “Maybe she needs to move on and stop tagging 90DF and talking s–t about the cast!” “Maybe it is none of my business what she says,” Pao admits. “But I’m part of the franchise and that video wasn’t just about her.” “I wish her nothing by the best as I know she is alone in this country with her husband in jail,” Paola says. “Have a great day!” Nice shade there, Paola. Keeping Up with the Kardashians Season 15 came to an end on Sunday night. With both a bang, and a lot of whimpering from the public over comments Kanye West made about slavery . Oh yeah: Kim Kardashian also met with Donald Trump in the Oval Office. Yes, that Donald Trump . The episode opened with a Kim explaining how she became moved and inspired the story of Alice Johnson . As explained to Kourtney, this was a woman who had been sentenced to a life sentence for a nonviolent first-time drug offense. She had already served 21 years of this stint. Kim became involved in the case after reaching out and offering to assist, and she was determined to convince the President that Johnson deserved clemency. “My first phone call was to Ivanka [Trump],” Kim said in a testimonial, adding: “She connected me with her husband Jared [Kushner]. They’ve asked me to go and talk to Trump about why Alice should get out.” Kardashian also said she told Kushner that she was a Hillary Clinton supporter in 2016 — but that this issue goes beyond party affiliation. In the middle of planning her White House visit and traveling to New York for the Met Ball, however, Kim had to deal with one of the children in her life. No, not Saint, North or Chicago. We’re talking about Kanye. During an appearance on TMZ Live, the idiotic rapper said the following: “When you hear about slavery for 400 years … for 400 years? That sounds like a choice .” Kris Jenner was actually scheduled to appear on Ellen just as news of Kanye’s rant broke; but Corey Gamble encouraged her to cancel. But the matriatch wasn’t having it. “I just want to make everything better,” Kris told Corey in the Ellen greenroom. “You know me, I want everybody to get along, I want everybody to be happy, I want everybody to understand one another and communicate.” In a solo interview with the E! cameras, Kris explained: “Even though Kanye went on TMZ this morning and made some controversial comments, my loyalty really lies with Kanye.” Later, while preparing for the Met Gala in her New York City hotel room, Kim opened up to Jonathan Cheban about West’s words actions. “Everyone thinks he’s having a breakdown,” she said. “When I saw the clip, I rushed home, I was hysterically crying. So I go home, he’s totally fine.” Typical Kanye, right? “The thing is, when he gets ramped up, he can’t control what he says, he can’t let it go. But he loves being ramped up,” Kim continued. “He’s like, ‘I feel powerful when I’m ramped up. I don’t want to be so suppressed. Yeah, I say crazy sh-t, but I’ve always said crazy sh-t. That’s why I’m Kanye.'” But Kim only had so much time to deal with Kanye’s latest controversy. She had to go into full-on business mode upon traveling to the White House with attorney Shawn Holley, the lawyer who famously represented Lindsay Lohan during her 2013 legal battle. Holley described the meeting with Trump with Kim, saying on air: “It was a lot of chit-chatting. They talked a little bit about Khloe on The Celebrity Apprentice.” There was also “a lot of Kanye talk” because West had also garnered backlash for supporting the MAGA movement. Johnson, who later appeared in the episode as Kim flew to Tennessee to meet her, broke into tears and referred to Kim as an “angel.” As for her sit-down with Trump, Kim later told her lawyer: “This has nothing to do with politics. I don’t really know anything. This just has to do with getting in front of the person that is the only person in the world that can make this decision and try to change their mind.” Kim delivers the life-altering news of her freedom to Alice Johnson in this photograph/scene. And as for the past 12 months of her life? After some time chilling at home with her semi-insane husband, Kim said the following to conclude Season 15: “Every time I think I’ve had a crazy year, I live the next year and it’s even crazier.”

It’s a powerful scene in Barry Jenkins screen adaptation of James Baldwin’s classic novel. Today, Regina scored a Golden Globe nomination for best actress, adding fervor to buzz that she’ll also land an Oscar nomination. We caught up with Regina and the cast of If Beale Street Could Talk at the Toronto International Film Festival ahead of the world premiere, where she opened up about the scene that will carry her through award season. “Every woman who I know that wear wigs, it’s not necesarily becuase they don’t like their hair or their hair isn’t long or short. The documentary aired on the OWN network in 2011. I believe the documentary highlighted some of the issues of colorism in the black community. It shined on the “Dark” skin girls experience. Listening to the women that shared similar stories as mine, but from another point of view. Dating While Light: In high school I was approached by a guy who said he gave me a double take because I was light. Now if you know me, I’ve been more involved with light skin men. Not because I don’t like other guys of different complexions or races. I’ve just been approached more by those guys. I’m now instantly turned off by guys that say they love my complexion or “our skin tones look good together”. I’ve had white men tell me, “you’re not too black but you’re cute for whatever you are.” Let’s not forget the white women that looked at me with these piercing looks because I was in a club on Washington Ave in Saint Louis, MO and a white guy was talking to me. We exchanged numbers and I instantly felt like “that black girl”. You’re either not black enough or too black. Awhile back, I sat down to grab a bite to eat and drink with a good friend that is a white male , that I’ve known for about 15 years at the time. We laughed, we hugged, and we enjoyed ourselves. I assume I was mistaken for being Hispanic because one of the waiters came up and told him I was “trouble” , whatever that meant. My friend and I continued our conversation, we caught up the family then we hit the topic about how interracial couples are looked at in all environments; the privilege versus non-privilege , and how complexions are what separate Black Americans. I told him later I felt like the more we talked and laughed we were being observed. No one knew we were friends that haven’t seen one another in a very long time and always enjoyed being around one another. You can say we dated, briefly. He realized some White Americans didn’t agree with the idea of interracial couples. I remember us sitting at a bar in the Saint Louis City area. We were talking, as I watch him get distracted by a man sitting behind me. He was starting to get upset and I eventually got him to calm down, but that’s when I told him, everyone hasn’t adapted to change. People will make faces and have their opinions, but we have to ignore the ignorance. My daughter’s father is biracial and both of my parents are Black, she is very light, and she has the same name as her cousin but it is spelled differently. These two are different complexions and when they were younger the kids would call them the Black one and the White one. Luckily another kid stepped in and changed that, now they are used their initials to identify the one they want. It’s obvious that others pay attention to the color of their skin. Being Black is already difficult without other Blacks comparing ourselves to one another. I’m still Black and this Black is beautiful. My birth certificate doesn’t say, “yella”, “redbone”, or “highlighter”. Human beings created racism”. The human race is what allowed colorism to pin people of lighter and darker complexions against one another. We then allowed ourselves to create animosity towards one another, by how one person treats or accepts another person. I’ve been in situations where I was treated unfairly by a person that’s darker than me, I later found out in conversation , that person was unfairly treated by someone lighter complexion. This created a downward spiral of aimless retaliation. No matter who I date, I’m Black. Many would disagree or say I can’t be “Pro-Black”, but the definition of being pro is “in favor of”; yes , I’m in favor of Black males, I’m not against. I can date and still represent myself as a woman of color. Even if it’s a “ Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner” moment or step in the room with my beautiful family members of beautiful hues of Black. Yes, I agree with Jane Elliot, “God created one race, THE HUMAN RACE. Human beings created racism”. Then I also agree with Issa Rae, “I’m rooting for everybody Black”, because I’m rooting that we understand our greatness no matter what. I root that we work together as a human race that we are inferior but superior to those that can’t see the benefit of equality.
