Earlier today, we reported that Taylor Swift is covering the September issue of Vanity Fair , thus cementing her place as the music industry’s number one fashion icon. That’s all well and good, but can Taylor afford to spend $312,000 on a pair of diamond shoes?! Yes, she absolutely can. But would she buy them? Probably not. It’s really the kind of move that only Queen Bey can pull off: Page Six is reporting today that Beyonce dropped roughly the cost of 17 Honda Civics just for some stilettos that she’ll probably wear for about 8 seconds in her newest video. That’s right – the shoes aren’t even for personal use. They’re part of Bey’s costume for a forthcoming video, which is a little surprising. After all, Bey’s most memorable videos are also her most stripped-down (sometimes literally). For ” Single Ladies ” all she needed was a leotard and some unforgettable dance moves. For the fantastic “7/11” video , she rocked a “Kale” sweatshirt and sipped from a red Solo cup. But hey, obviously Bey is entitled to get glammed up when she feels like it. Besides, after her recent failed business ventures , Mrs. Carter might feel the need to send a message that she’s still one of the world’s foremost ballers.

Disaster struck at a party hosted by Drake in Toronto early Tuesday morning. According to multiple outlets, two attendees were killed and three others sent to the hospital after what sources describe to Billboard as a “sporadic” shooting took place following the OVO Festival. The tragic incident went down at Muzik nightclub around 3:30 a.m. The venue sits on the grounds of the Canadian National Exhibition, which is across the bridge from the Molson Amphitheatre, where OVO ended its two-night run late Monday evening. Toronto Police Superintendent Frank Bergen of 14 Division says one victim died at the scene, while the other was pronounced dead at the hospital. Both were in their 20s to 30s; one was a male and one was a female; no further details are available at this time. “What occurred originally in the bar area had spilled out into the streets… so south and north of this area … we do have three separate crimes scenes,” Bergen said, adding: “At this point we do know for certain that one or two [shootings] were in the nightclub and we believe the others were outside of that area. “This is all unfolding now and we’re doing our investigation.” It is not known whether or not Drake was inside the club at the time of the shooting. A man was also shot at an OVO Festival afterparty at Muzik last year.

Trick question! They're all from TD2 (though it could be argued that the first line is actually stolen from a Rolling Stones song), and if you thought those words sounded ridiculous coming from under Colin Farrell's '70s cop 'stache just wait until you hear Seth Meyers' delivery. Yes, the late night host asked audience members to differentiate between fortune cookie sayings and lines from True Detective last night – and the task proved exceedingly difficult. Sadly, our favorite gem from last week's episode (“Everything is f–king.”) was left out of the game, but we guess that's to be expected on a network show. Anyway, if you're in need of an easy drinking game to help celebrate this Sunday's finale, we suggest you watch True Detective online , write down your favorite lines and try to stump your friends. Just remember – sometimes your worst self is your best self. Whatever that means.

In the wake of the Josh Duggar sexual abuse scandal , Jessa Duggar defended her older brother in rather bizarre fashion. She admitted that Josh had touched her inappropriately, but she also stated that he was a “sly” molester who groped his sisters in such a way that they were unaware that they were being abused. While that may be Jessa’s most controversial remark to date, anyone who follows the 22-year-old expectant mother on social media knows that she’s never been one to worry about pissing off her critics. Take Jessa’s latest tweet, for example: The cartoon, of course, is mocking the recent controversy over the killing of Cecil the lion . Clearly, Jessa is suggesting that instead of attacking Walter Palmer, the world should be focused on more important issues, such as reproductive rights. (Like the rest of her family, Jessa is vehemently pro-life and once compared abortion to the Holocaust on Instagram.) We like to keep things light and gossipy around here, so we won’t get into the abortion debate, but we will take issue with Jessa’s argument that concern over the killing of protected animals for sport somehow distracts from more pressing matters. You could easily go to ESPN’s website and comment, “Who cares that the Yankees play the Red Sox tonight?! ISIS is on the move!” but doing so would demonstrate a fundamental lack of understanding of human beings’ ability to care about more than one thing at a time. Like, we could say, “Jessa shouldn’t you be spending less time tweeting and more time helping your husband find a real job now that your family’s reality show has been canceled ?” but that would be dumb, because there’s clearly enough time in the day to do both. Seriously, though, we hope Ben’s looking for a legit gig that can support a family, because that baby is on its way, and it doesn’t like the Duggars will be back on TV any time soon. Every season of Game of Thrones is packed with jaw-dropping violence, and season 5 has been no exception. Over the years we've seen beheadings, poisonings, death by infected boo-boo (RIP, Khal Drogo ), a man getting shot by an arrow while being burned (pour one out for Mance Rayder ), even the old “molten gold dumped over the head” trick. With all of these memorable demises, it was hard to pick just a few vicious send-offs for our list, but here are the torture sessions and Valyrian steel run-ins that really kept us up nights. Enjoy! 1. Viserys Gets Crowned Viserys was up there with King Joffrey in terms of douchebags we loved to hate. Even so, his death by molten gold is tough to watch. 2. The Death of King Joffrey Joffrey’s death wasn’t particularly gory but it WAS unexpected. And it certainly wasn’t unwelcome. 3. The Red Wedding Possibly the most shocking moment the series has offered up thus far. That GRRM certainly knows how to shock and appall. 4. Oberyn Martell vs. The Mountain Surely, one of the most gruesome deaths in the history of television. We even feel bad for the witnesses. 5. Tyrion Gets His Revenge Tywin and Shae learned a valuable lesson: Don’t mess with the Imp. Unfortunately, it’s too late for them to do anything with that knowledge. 6. Mande Rayder Swekered at His Own Barbecue! Mance Rayder was spared a brutal death on Game of Thrones. He still died, of course…it just wasn’t quite as brutal. View Slideshow
