Porn Company Creates Kinect Sex Game

By NewsCore – A demonstration of a new sex game for the Kinect video game console received more than 11,000 hits on YouTube by Thursday morning — just 15 hours after it was posted. The controller-free console designed for family fun became a new medium for pornography less than two months after it was released. The game allows users to simulate sex acts using the console's advanced technology, which requires users to move their bodies instead of a controller. “The open-sourcing of device drivers for Kinect have enabled the device to be used directly from connected PCs operating on Windows 7. The Kinect interface provides another exciting interface option for users of the sex-simulation software to control the experience in extraordinary new ways,” the game's developer, 3D sex-simulation producer ThriXXX, told cnet.com. Lady Gaga Arrives In Gaming World With ‘Dance Central’

‘Rock Band’ creator Harmonix is working on a new dance game that uses the Kinect camera on Xbox 360. By Russ Frushtick Lady Gaga Photo: Jeff Kravitz/ FilmMagic Harmonix was making rhythm games long before the days of “Rock Band,” but despite being fans of dance music, the developer has always had a difficult time implementing those kinds of tracks into their games. The solution was to launch an entirely new rhythm-game franchise: “Dance Central.” The key to “Dance Central” was Microsoft’s Kinect , a motion-sensing camera that’s able to track the precise body movements of anyone standing in front of it. No game pad or controller is required — simply walk up and you’re good to go. From there, the jump to making a dance game seemed like a perfect fit. It’s the easy-to-play nature of “Dance Central” that made Harmonix believe they could bring it to the masses. During Microsoft’s press conference at E3 2010 , Harmonix co-founder Alex Rigopulos admitted that it’s a challenge to get people to play a dance game. “At Harmonix we’re always thriving for new ways to get people experiencing music,” he said. “Dancing can be intimidating for some people, but ‘Dance Central’ was developed so that everyone can play.” As someone who has never been good at dancing (in games or out), I came upon “Dance Central” with a healthy amount of skepticism. Surprisingly, though, I found the game remarkably easy, even for someone as rhythmically challenged as me. Complex dance moves are broken down into individual steps, and the difficulty is slowly ramped up, so players can take one move at a time. If someone is having difficulty pulling off a step-clap-step in the middle of Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face,” for example, the game will pause and let the would-be dancer try the move again until they have it down. It took me no time at all to adapt to the dozen moves throughout Bell Biv DeVoe’s “Poison,” and I even managed to gain a decent-size crowd of onlookers. Warning: This game requires a healthy sampling of humility. Harmonix isn’t ditching its “Rock Band” roots anytime soon, though. The developer is hard at work on “Rock Band 3,” which will introduce keyboards and a new “Pro” mode, which helps players to learn real-world guitars, drums and keyboards just by playing through the game. Both “Dance Central” and “Rock Band 3” are planned for release in the fall. For more gaming news straight from E3, head on over to Multiplayer.MTV.com . Microsoft Kinect Unveiled At E3

The platform formerly known as Project Natal makes its debut. By Russ Frushtick Microsoft Kinect unveiled at E3 2010 Photo: Russ Frushtick/ MTV News Microsoft kicked off E3 2010 with the long-awaited unveiling of its motion-sensing gaming platform. The company offered an early glimpse of the technology last year, when it went by the temporary moniker Project Natal. But on Sunday night Microsoft debuted a much more complete, full-featured array of games and gave the platform a new name: Kinect (a blending of “kinetic energy” and “connect”). Demonstrated during a lavish performance by Cirque De Soleil, the Kinect presentation featured families jumping, twisting and flailing in front of a TV to complete objectives in a variety of games. The technology behind Kinect rests in a new 3D-sensing camera, which sits below the user’s TV and can accurately capture the movements of anyone who stands before it. The games that were demonstrated — which included a “Star Wars”-themed title that allows players to engage in light saber duels — proved that Microsoft isn’t just aiming for children with this new innovation. Here’s a quick rundown of some of the Kinect titles: “Joy Ride” Initially just an Xbox Live driving game, this game was been redesigned to support Kinect. Players can steer their chosen car simply by holding their arms out in front of them and turning an invisible steering wheel. “Track & Field” A collection of team-based minigames ranging from the 100-meter dash to the javelin toss to, oddly enough, bowling. It seems to be Microsoft’s answer to Nintendo’s popular “Wii Sports” series. “Yoga” Another nod to Nintendo’s past successes, this yoga game features a digital tutor who can walk players through complex positions. An on-screen representation of your character tracks every movement to ensure accuracy. “Dancing” A rhythm-inspired game that allows players to learn choreographed dances step by step. The game checks the accuracy of your moves and will even slow down the pace if you’re too far off. “Natal Animals” Users can purchase stuffed animal creatures that, when held up to the Kinect camera, become in-game characters that can be played with. Users can even teach the animals tricks such as how to jump and how to play dead. “Star Wars” The biggest response came from the appearance of a “Star Wars”-themed game, which allows players to wield a light saber and take on the Empire. The on-screen Jedi follows the players’ every movement, allowing for graceful ricochets and powerful explosions. Unfortunately the demonstration didn’t feature any hands-on time with the games, but MTV News will get to try out many of the above titles on Monday evening. Check out MTV Multiplayer for our latest impressions of the Kinect.
