Taylor Swift Breaks A Heart In Her ‘Back To December’ Video

Swift ends relationship with hunky lead in the Yoann Lemoine-directed clip. By Jocelyn Vena Taylor Swift in the “Back to December” music video Photo: Big Machine Records What happens when you break the heart of a hunky-looking dude who resembles a “Twilight” character and you regret it? Well, if you’re Taylor Swift, it snows in your straight-out-of-an-Anthropologie-catalog bedroom as you write a breakup letter for your ex-beau. That’s the basic plot for Taylor Swift’s just-released “Back to December” video . In Swift’s clip for “Mine,” her lead single off her massive album Speak Now , the singer proved that she was no longer that girl who sang about proms and cheerleaders. Instead, she sang about finding love, getting married and having a family. Here, in her darker, more somber clip (despite all the early morning sun) for “Back to December,” Swift is breaking up with someone, an image we don’t usually associate with the singer. Looking almost sultry in bedhead hair, cozy sweater and a boyfriend T-shirt, Swift looks morose as she contemplates breaking it off with her good-looking boyfriend. Shots of the singer sitting in a bathtub clothed, sitting on her kitchen counter (perhaps a nod to the “Mine” video fight scene) and sitting on her bed singing the song are intercut with those of the actor who plays Swift’s love interest driving in his car, presumably away from Swift’s suburban mansion, and sitting alone on a football field, perhaps regretting letting Swift get away so easily. The video was directed by Yoann Lemoine, who did Katy Perry’s equally dreamy, equally girly clip for “Teenage Dream.” The video ends with Swift in her snowy home while the ex-boyfriend finds her breakup letter in his coat pocket as he sits alone in the bleachers. The song is rumored to be about the demise of Swift’s relationship with “Twilight” heartthrob Taylor Lautner . It’s to be noted that the video was released on January 13 — as Swift fans know, 13 is the singer’s lucky number. Snow has also been the theme in Swift’s live performances of this song, a natural fit given that the song is about December. What do you think of Taylor Swift’s new video for “Back to December”? Sextra: Who’s in Mood for Some Capricorn Lovin’?

Happy New Year, billie goats! This is your time of year and who could ask for a better year, numerically: 1.1.11? We swung into the Capricorn’s zodiacal cycle last which was, likely, a picturesque, snow covered, good time. Just like the crisp chill in the air, the Capricorn is a part of life that is always on time, inevitable and necessary for life to move on produce new fruits. Even as children, Capricorns are refined, observant and possess a strong ambition and determination for success and stability which people mistake as being shrewd or oddly conventional. But, the misunderstanding comes with their need for structure, in which they function best! So, wishy-washy, indecisive, unreliable and irresponsible individuals are automatically scratched from their personal and social realm – regardless of the relationship – friend or family, any of the aforementioned is unacceptable. Despite their direct, forward and well-planned approach to life, they are some of the most humorous people! The capricorn will keep you in stitches with their candid and casually dry sense of humor, which can become mean-spiritied and hurtful if you become a target of this astral sign’s wrath. Capricorn’s zodiac symbol is the goat and the similarities between this animal and those that fall under this sign are astounding. Like the goat, the Caps are normally introverted — or classified as the loner type — quirky and most comfortable by themselves. Reason being: they aren’t too quick to trust folks, so, instead of taking a chance, they keep to themselves. Another goat-like trait that tends to be recurring is their love of the outdoors — true lovers of nature. They will take a hike up a hillside, run for miles or take in the beauty of nature and it’s surroundings sitting by a lake or during a stroll through the park. This zodiac sign is a true adventurer and is not above being a nomad, wondering around the world to fulfill the depths of their cultural explorations. But if the goat is too extreme, they are prone to become comfortable with being lonely and, as a result, they come off as socially awkward or “out there.” But, again, they make you wonder what’s on their mind because, undoubtedly, it WILL be interesting! If you are so lucky to have one the most complex zodiacs in your life, you can hang your hat on that person being a dependable, sturdy partner. Once they are committed to a relationship, they are constantly working to keep their union a smooth operational unit and making it better. They are extremely loyal to their partners and it took some time for the Capricorn to allow that person into their intimate space, so for them, it is to be considered a privilege not to be forsaken or betrayed. If you cross that line with them, the goat will instantly become closed off and unresponsive … and they can give a mean silent treatment like no other! And when they do finally open their mouthes to express the pain you’ve cause, you better be ready pick your face, ego and pride off the floor … and sometimes the damage is irreparable. Sex with the Capricorn is truly an adventure and experimental, their sexual prowess matches their attitude towards any other endeavor: success is the only option and their eyes stay on the prize. They take their time with their lover to learn what they like and how to best deliver it … regardless of location. Yes, location — there are no boundaries to when and where! The office, the car, in the park under the stars, the kitchen … if there’s space and opportunity, why not? The Capricorns are often very playful in the bedroom, indulging and fulfilling each others fantasies and exploring the pleasures that sex brings. Anyone who has had the experience of loving on a Cap enjoyed every moment of their blissful splendor! And with every one of those moments, his/her message was clear: my love is true. My sister is a Capricorn and she is crazy! If you cross her, she will strike you with mighty force and turn green! And grow muscles! She is such a square and is extremely anal but she’s a really great person. If I had to place my sister in a category of some sort, I would say that she is a no nonsense kind of person and she could really loosen up sometimes but when she does, she’s a lot of fun! Another thing I wish I could do is take her shopping and edge up her style a little bit but if I did, I don’t believe she would be cool with the colors and pieces she should wear! Her body is gorgeous but she’s so “plain Jane.” I love her. She’s great but it a good thing we live states away, for sure. Otherwise, we would always fight like we did when we were little girls. – Melinda, 28 I’m a Capricorn and so is my wife so we but heads all the time! I didn’t realize how much of control freak she is until we got married! She is incredible! As much as she drives me crazy, I love her just as much. My life wouldn’t function properly without her because she’s very organized and takes deadlines seriously and I do too. There are definitely time where when I fall short in that arena, she can take the wheel and I don’t have to worry about it because we’re kind of type A. We’re always on the same page in that respect. Our sex life is very active and we always make time to do what we do. We might drive up to the mountains and ski for a weekend, go see a movie or lay around the house naked together. She still turns me all the way on after 8 ling years and I keep her content also. I’m confident of that. – Jabril, 35 The Capricorns that I know, I either hate them or love them! My son is a Capricorn and he used to get his a*s handed to him by his sister all the time. He is very manipulative and bossy and my girls weren’t having it! They broke him down through the years and I think because he them he’s a little more tolerable of other people’s circumstance. He can be very judgmental and cruel but we had to really check it before it got out of control, you know. He’s 21 now and he’s a really good guy, in terms of how he treats women and friends but I often wonder if he didn’t have his sisters, how much of an a*shole he’s be. I love my son with all my heart and he knows that but learned the hard way that he is not above or better than anyone. – Gail, 44 I am a Capricorn and I think I’m the freakiest of them all! Nobody can top some of the things that I’ve done and I know it. I like adventure play and toys — handcuffs, hot candle wax and light bondage — you know, that kind of thing! What I don’t think people realize about us it that we have a dark side and if anybody could pull off leading a double life, it would be us Capricorns! There’s not a whole lot that I wouldn’t try at least once and never see or speak to that person again in my life! Don’t be fooled by our schoolgirl exterior because we can hang with the best of the best. I’m just saying! – Nicole, 30 Shouts out to all the Capricorns this year! Happy birthday and make it a good one! Happy New Year, Bossip Fam! Have a blast and please be safe! Please remember to e-mail all your topic suggestions, feedback and questions to loveandrelationships@bossip.com !

Late Night Highlights: Chris Colfer Debuts New Haircut, Tells Jay Leno a Bully Revenge Story

He may have missed the Glee cast performance on The X-Factor due to Warbler scheduling conflicts, but Chris Colfer was able to escape set for a few hours to debut a new haircut on The Tonight Show and tell Jay Leno about the time he literally led a high school bully into a pile of sh*t. Elsewhere, Mila Kunis complained about the Black Swan diet, Jimmy Fallon impersonated Justin Bieber, Russell Brand talked about the sex appeal of a Prius, and Charlie Day discussed the lost Danny DeVito prison rape scene.

REVIEW: Garden of Eden Isn’t Just Lesser Hemingway; It’s the Worst of Him

Though based on the Hemingway novel published 25 years after his death, Hemingway’s Garden of Eden feels more like the result of an ungodly alliance between Harlequin house writers and the cut-and-paste masterminds at A&E Biography . Hemingway worked on the novel from 1946 until his death, leaving its 200,000 words unpublished. The story is roughly autobiographical, derived in part from to his second marriage (to wealthy Pauline Pfeiffer), but allusions to Fitzgerald and his wife, Zelda, whom Hemingway reviled, seem to figure as well. As adapted by former Paris Review editor James Scott Linville and directed by John Irwin, The Garden of Eden suggests the bad first novel that Hemingway never wrote. There’s a reason This Side Of Paradise never made it to the screen.

Jesse Eisenberg on Using Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg and His Next Project (Which May Involve You)

Last week I met actor Jesse Eisenberg for a lengthy discussion of subjects ranging from his coming-of-age in the New York theater to his beloved Zombieland and his awards-season prospects for The Social Network. We covered a lot of ground, which I’ll be retracing this week in a five-part series here at Movieline. As our impromptu Hell’s Kitchen rendezvous continued, Jesse Eisenberg naturally drifted into the subject The Social Network was in part based on: Facebook, and its founder, Mark Zuckerberg. The actor elaborated on his (short) experience on Facebook, the possibility of sending Mark Zuckerberg ill-advised late night emails, if he can still walk down the street without being recognized (or, as it turns out, without being given a noogie) and his new project — which just may wind up somehow involving you.

Another marijuana tunnel and two more warehouses found

20 tons of pot seized, eight arrested in San Diego and Tijuana. Reporting from San Diego — Federal authorities have unearthed another cross-border tunnel in a San Diego warehouse district, the second major tunnel discovery and multi-ton seizure of marijuana believed to be from Mexico's most powerful drug cartel in a month. The tunnel, which started in a residence in Tijuana, stretched nearly half a mile and split into two passageways, with the branches emerging at separate warehouses nearly 800 feet apart. The tunnel was within a block of a subterranean passage found three weeks ago, where authorities seized more than 25 tons of marijuana, the second-largest marijuana seizure in U.S. history. With Thursday's haul of 20 more tons, authorities said they had dealt a significant double blow to Mexican organized crime groups. The amount seized was the equivalent of about 17 million marijuana joints, said Ralph Partridge, the special agent in charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration office in San Diego. “This has a huge impact,” Partridge said. Authorities believe the drugs found in the tunnels this month belonged to separate cells of the Sinaloa drug cartel, which has long used northern Baja California as staging ground for smuggling drugs into California. The discovery on Thursday morning came after U.S. agents stopped a tractor-trailer loaded with marijuana bales that had just left a warehouse on Marconi Drive. Inside the empty warehouse space where a “For Rent” sign hung out front, agents found an opening cut into the concrete floor. They traversed the tunnel to the second opening in a warehouse a few blocks away on Via de la Amistad. To find the opening on the Tijuana side, Mexican Army soldiers traversed the entire 2,200-foot passage, which featured lighting and ventilation systems. They surfaced in the kitchen of the residence where a family lived. Authorities said six people were arrested in Mexico. “They were very surprised,” said Tim Durst, an assistant special agent from Immigration and Customs Enforcement who heads the multi-agency San Diego Tunnel Task Force. The bust culminated an eight-month investigation, built largely on tips from informants. Authorities seized four tons of marijuana in the Tijuana residence and another location in Mexico; three tons in the tunnel; and about 13 tons in the tractor trailer. Two men were arrested in California, including the driver of the tractor-trailer. The tunnel was one of the longest ever discovered and had several unique features that highlighted traffickers' evolving approach to ferrying drugs under the border. The floor of the passageway was lined with tongue-and-groove wooden boards that served as a level surface for the cart and rail system. There was an underground room, roughly 10 by 20 feet, where smugglers off-loaded the marijuana bales from the cart before hoisting them to the surface. The most unusual feature was the construction of two tunnel branches, which authorities speculate allowed smugglers alternate exit points in case of surveillance. http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-tunnel-20101127,0,416000.story added by: im1mjrpain

Pedal Powered Kitchen Center An Idea Whose Time Has Come

Back in the 60’s the Nutone Kitchen Center was all the rage in high-end kitchens; The idea was that you would have a pile of different appliances and one motor to serve them all, built into the kitchen counter. But in the end it didn’t make a lot of sense as electric motors were relatively cheap. But what if you do not want to use electricity? The mechanism is going to take up a lot more space and perhaps be more expensive. Designer Christoph Thetard has designed the R2B2 “to reduce private electric waste production.”… Read the full story on TreeHugger
