Our Favorite Romantic Scenes From Television And Film

Ashanti once sang, “I wanna be like those girls in the movies, to have a man so in love it makes him drop to his knees.” And who can really blame the girl? Unless you’ve lucked up and snagged yourself a die-hard romantic man, for many of us, the big screen is the only place where we’ll get to experience flamboyant, over-the-top and maybe even a tad bit cheesy declarations of affection. The next time your man gets into a habit of forgetting that you’re a female with feelings who likes to be treated as such, pop in one of these flicks to be reminded how it’s done. And for the fellas, just take notes… ( Continue )

Aubrey O’Day Gets Down In Her Undies

Twitter can be pretty annoying, I don’t need to hear about how awesome your bowel movements was, but this is yet another example why it can also be pretty awesome. Here’s a nice picture of busty nobody Aubrey O’Day in her underwear playing with her dog. I wish I could say that was a sexual euphemism, but sadly I wasn’t that lucky. Anyhow, she’s on her knees in her undies…. That’s good enough for me.

Chris Brown Melts Down During BET Awards Michael Jackson Tribute

Singer dances flawless but is overcome by emotion when time comes to sing. By Rochell Thomas Chris Brown at the 2010 BET Awards Photo: Frederick M. Brown/ Getty Images When Jamie Foxx, Ne-Yo and New Edition were performing tributes to Michael Jackson during last year’s BET Awards show, Chris Brown was nowhere to be found, even though many felt he was an obvious choice to honor the fallen legend. Brown’s assault on Rihanna several months earlier presumably kept him out of the show. On Sunday night (June 27), Brown finally got his chance to publicly honor the man he idolized — and while his dancing was flawless, when the time came for him to sing, he simply fell apart. After being introduced by Jermaine Jackson, Brown beautifully channeled Michael as he danced to “Remember the Time,” “Smooth Criminal” and “Billie Jean.” Yet when he grabbed a mic to sing “Man in the Mirror,” he choked up, visibly weeping. “I’m gonna make a change for once in my …” Brown’s voice trailed off. He was out of breath and sounded hoarse. Tears stained his cheeks as he paced the stage, holding the microphone by his side. “This … wind is blowing my … Who am I to…” He clearly knew the lyrics but they failed to come out. Brown faded in and out of the song, closing his eyes, grimacing, trying to soldier on. Whether it was the emotion of the moment or the past 16 months, Brown struggled and failed to find his voice, even though the pre-recorded backing vocals played on. Finally, he gave up, raised a bandaged finger to the sky and fell to his knees as Michael Jackson’s voice could be heard saying, “I’m starting with the man in the mirror.” The camera cut from Brown to an audience member who clearly uttered “Oh my God,” in shock. The audience loudly sang the words that Brown could not. Their aid seemed to move Brown to rise from his knees and mouth the words along with Jackson’s voice, while gesturing along with the mic as tears rolled down his face. In the audience, actress Taraji P. Henson could be seen mouthing, “That’s all right baby,” as Brown walked offstage to Jermaine Jackson, who moved to console him. Brown’s emotional performance echoed through the rest of the show. When Niecy Nash came onstage to present the Video of the Year award, she said, “When Chris Brown started crying I got choked up.” What did you think of Chris Brown’s Michael Jackson tribute at the BET Awards? World Cup 2010: David Platt relives Italia 90 volley against Belgium

Flashback to 26 June 1990: Bologna, Italy: with penalties looming David Platt volleys England to a stunning second-round victory over Belgium David Platt, England midfielder “I started as a substitute. I can remember little snatches of the game. John Barnes having a volleyed goal harshly disallowed, Belgium hitting the woodwork twice, I can still see Enzo Scifo hitting the post with a tremendous strike from 25 yards. I was at the other end of the bench from Bobby Robson and didn’t have much contact with him. Having since been a manager I now know that the emotions he must have been going through were far more intense than mine. I came on for Steve McMahon [in the 71st minute].” John Motson, commentating on BBC1 in extra-time after 119 goalless minutes: “Gerets challenges Gascoigne. Free-kick given to England …” Platt: “It was the last minute. There was a free-kick in the centre.” Motson: “… Gascoigne shaping to take it …” Platt: “Gazza was on it. I was in the box trying to get a yard or half of space.” Motson: “… and chipped in …” Platt: “I was spinning, the ball dropped over my shoulder and I just tried to get something on it.” Motson: “… and volleyed in …” Platt: “There wasn’t a great deal of power. It was all technique.” Motson: “… and it’s there! …” Platt: “I saw it going in and fell to my knees.” Motson: “… by David Platt! …” Platt: “Everything was intuitive, the way I met and hit the ball and then dropping to my knees. Instinct just took over. I’d never ever dropped to my knees after scoring before, I don’t know why I did.” Motson: “… England have done it! In the last minute of extra-time!” Platt: “But when you score a goal like that you just go outside yourself for a bit, everything is surreal. The adrenaline surge is so great it’s as if I really was in a different place, a different world.” Motson: “… That’s the biggest smile in world football tonight – David Platt of Aston Villa.” Platt: “Don’t get me wrong, the goal wasn’t a fluke. I had an eye for getting on the end of that sort of ball and the technical ability to finish those chances off. I worked hard on practising overhead kicks and volleys in training at Aston Villa but, even so, if I had re-enacted that chance against Belgium 10 times in training the next day there’s a very good chance I wouldn’t have scored once from it. It was just one of life’s rare, perfect moments.” Motson: “He turned, volleyed and what a good finish.” Platt: “The one place where things didn’t go right was almost as soon as I left the pitch. One minute I was euphoric and the next I was being hauled off for a random drug test. It was hot and you’re so dehydrated after playing that it took 40 minutes – which passed very, very slowly – for me to produce a sample. I was in a room with a couple of Belgians who were seriously unhappy because they’d just been knocked out. I didn’t know what to say. By the time I came out the other players all had their suits on and the euphoria had passed.” Motson: “One of the most dramatic goals in the World Cup – and probably one of the best. England through to the quarter-finals of the World Cup.” Platt: “After finally getting back to the hotel and having something to eat I decided it was too late to phone my then girlfriend, now my wife, Rachel. For some reason I thought she’d be in bed and annoyed if I woke her up. In reality everyone was having a party and expecting a call from me. Nowadays my mobile phone would have been going mad with texts and voice messages but in 1990 the England squad were isolated from everything. “If I hadn’t scored that goal, I might still have ended up playing in Italy [Platt went on to play for Bari, Juventus and Sampdoria] but, realistically, I’m sure it was the catalyst. Italian clubs were looking for international names and, before that goal, I was only really known as a club player with Aston Villa. We’ve got a home in Sardinia now. The goal was a big catalyst.” World Cup 2010 Louise Taylor guardian.co.uk

Bill Murray Craps on Ghostbusters 3 Once Again

Bill Murray has been so publicly dismissive about the mere possibility of Ghostbusters 3 — remember when he called it his ” nightmare ?” — that it’s hard to believe he hasn’t just burned his old costume in effigy at this point. In fact, based on his latest round of “let me cut this project off at the knees” quotes, it feels like the best way for Murray to get whatever revenge he’s looking for would be to simply appear in the sequel, cash his big check and put in as much effort as he did on Charlie’s Angels .

David Beckham Puts His Feet Up

He’s certainly not watching his diet, that’s for sure. But we’re pretty positive David Beckham would want nothing more than to be training for the upcoming World Cup, but with his injury, that’s not going to happen. At least he’s in good spirits. Becks was all smiles at the Los Angeles Lakers game where he looked to enjoy a giant pretzel, a soda, and a winning home team.
