Media Insists On Calling Suge Knight A Rapper Suge Knight has never spit a single bar on any song ever. He’s not a rapper. He’s a mogul. A Businessman. And whether you think he’s a good or just businessman or a thief and murderer, the fact remains that Suge Knight is a mogul. Not a rapper. Yet every time he’s been mentioned since allegedly murdering someone, he’s been called a rapper. But…why? What compels the media to insist that Suge has spit bars to achieve his fame? Pure laziness probably plays a part. But it probably has something to do with the desire to pain rap and rappers as people who commit murders and act insane in court. There isn’t a distinction between a business person in the rap field and a rapper – probably because a person of color in the rap diaspora solely known for business practices is unheard of to them. I bet if Steve Stoute or Dame Dash got arrested for knifing someone up, they’d get called rappers too. For example, remember when Chris Brown was called a rapper? Exactly. It’d be great if the media stopped placing their own racist expectations on Blackness. Please and thank you. So, again: SUGE KNIGHT IS NOT A RAPPER. So stop it.

Suge Knight Taken Out Of Court By Ambulance Poor Suge just keeps collapsing and having medical issues left and right. The former mogul had to be carted away by a medical team from an LA courtroom once again on Thursday for undisclosed ailments. Oddly enough, this court appearance had nothing to do with the hit-and-run death case he’s also facing, bur rather the September incident in which he and Katt Williams were accused of stealing a fan’s phone. Via PageSix : Former rap mogul Marion “Suge” Knight was taken from a Los Angeles courthouse for an undisclosed medical issue. Knight was scheduled to appear in court Thursday for arraignment on a criminal threats charge and for a scheduling hearing in a robbery case, but he never appeared in the courtroom. Los Angeles Superior Court spokeswoman Mary Hearn says Knight was taken away by ambulance but there was no information on why. The Sheriff’s Department did not have any immediate information on Knight’s condition. Knight was charged with robbery after a photographer reported that Knight and comedian Katt Williams stole her camera in September. Knight has pleaded not guilty to robbery and prosecutors recently added a criminal threats charge. Even though Suge insists that he had no idea he hit anyone , the DA feels that the video evidence shows deliberate action, revoked his bail , and have charged him with several counts of murder. Via TMZ : Suge Knight has just been charged with murder in the death of his friend, and sources say a videotape will be a key piece of evidence. The L.A. County D.A. just filed the charges in connection with the death of Terry Carter … who was killed Thursday after Suge ran him over in Compton. Suge ran over an adversary — Cle “Bone” Sloan — and Carter was accidentally struck and killed. In addition to murder, Suge was charged with attempted premeditated murder, hit and run resulting in death, and hit and run resulting in injury — all felonies. As we previously reported, deputies obtained a video of the incident. Law enforcement sources say the video captures “a portion” of what went down, but authorities tell us it significantly strengthens the case against Suge. Suge’s bail was revoked Monday … the bail commissioner decided he’s a flight risk and might intimidate witnesses. If convicted, Suge faces life. Suge Knight has been formally charged with murder. The music mogul was arrested last week in conjunction with a hit-and-run that took place in Los Angeles. Knight was allegedly engaged in an argument when he got into his pickup truck and backed over two men. One of them, Terry Carter, died from the wounds he sustained as a result of the incident. Reports state that Knight was being accosted by multiple men when he floored the gas pedal out of fear for his life. He claims he wasn’t aware he had struck anyone when he fled at scene. However, the cops allege Knight was trying to run over a nemesis name Cle “None” Sloan when he hit Carter by mistake. In addition to murder, Knight faces charges of attempted premeditated murder; hit and run resulting in death; and hit and run resulting in injury. These are all felonies. Knight had his $2 million bail revoked today, while insiders say video obtained by deputies at the scene capture a “portion” of what took place in Compton. Authorities say the footage strengthens the District Attorney’s case against Knight. Knight, the co-founder of Death Row Records, turned himself in to police on January 30 after running over Carter, a friend, with his vehicle. “The complaint includes use of a deadly weapon and causing great bodily injury allegations and that Knight has prior convictions, making this a third strike case,” the L.A. County D.A.’s Office said earlier today. Knight is set to appear in the Compton courthouse tomorrow. If convicted, he faces up to life in state prison. The producer, of course, is no stranger to brushes with the law.
