Kristen Stewart Preparing Her Next Apology

“I don’t feel very comfortable on the red carpet,” Kristen Stewart recently told Hello! What else is new? Oh: “I look out there at a thousand people and I realize they could rush me and assassinate me. No security could protect me. Ostensibly they’re fans, but I think about them turning on me.” Sigh. On the bright side, at least she has a year off to get the next press tour right. Or get better security. [ PopEater ]

‘Eclipse’ Has Biggest Wednesday-Night Opening Ever

According to early reports the ‘Twilight’ movie’s first-day take is $65 million, breaking ‘Transformers 2’ record. By Gil Kaufman Taylor Lautner, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in “Eclipse” Photo: Summit Entertainment This weekend could go down in history as the Fourth of July when the vampires and werewolves took over. Based on preliminary figures from Wednesday night’s opening of “Eclipse,” Deadline Hollywood is reporting that the third “Twilight” movie is expected to have the best-ever mid-week opening in history, with a $65 million haul. If the numbers hold — final figures from the studio are expected later in the day — that would mean that “Eclipse” would easily beat the $62 million Wednesday opening record set by “Transformers 2” last summer. The numbers included $30 million alone from 12:01 a.m. and 3 a.m. screenings at more than 4,000 North American theaters. “Eclipse” already broke the record for midnight grosses , last year’s “New Moon,” which raked in $26.3 million on its opening night. “Eclipse” also set a new record for the biggest-ever release in Hollywood history, rolling out in 4,416 domestic theaters and breaking the “Iron Man 2” record of 4,380. Among the other records it beat, Deadline reported that “Eclipse” took in more than $1 million at 192 theaters showing the movie in the IMAX format, beating the $959,000 banked by “Transformers 2” during its Wednesday night opening. The next record in sight is the all-time biggest Fourth of July opening-weekend crown, currently held by “Spider-Man 2” at $180 million. Current projections call for “Eclipse” to come in around the $142 million range, but with strong word-of-mouth and a broader appeal to both men and women this time around, it’s possible the movie could end up having an even bigger take. ‘Eclipse’ Sets Box-Office Record For Midnight Screenings

More than $30 million gross tops previous record-holder ‘New Moon.’ By Kara Warner Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner in “Eclipse” Photo: Summit In knowing the fervor and devotion of “Twilight” fans, it should come as no surprise that ticket sales for “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” have broken the record for highest-grossing midnight screenings — previously held by “New Moon.” According to the film’s distributor, Summit Entertainment, “Eclipse” took in more than $30 million from midnight screenings on Wednesday (June 30), with final box-office numbers to be determined once the studio finishes its final count. The previous record for midnight showings is $26.3 million, set on the opening day for “New Moon” last November. “Eclipse” will have to break $72.7 million to beat its predecessor in the all-time opening-day-gross category, but given the strong numbers Wednesday, and the fact that “Moon” opened on a Friday, not midweek, it is fair to say the third chapter in the hugely popular film franchise is on track to rake in serious dough throughout its opening weekend. “Eclipse” ranks as the widest domestic release in history , opening in 4,416 theaters in North America, beating the record set earlier this year by “Iron Man 2.” Four-thousand of those theaters held midnight screenings. Several theater chains also reportedly had 3 a.m. screenings to meet public demand. IMAX was expected to hold 3 a.m. screenings in 120 of its theaters. In addition to being on par to break the “New Moon” opening-day and midnight-screening records, “Eclipse” has a shot at besting the record for a movie opening over the Fourth of July weekend. That record is currently at $200 million, set by last year’s “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . Taylor Lautner Says ‘Twilight’ Merchandise Can Be ‘So Weird’

‘I haven’t seen anything too crazy,’ he tells MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Taylor Lautner Photo: MTV News There seem to be a multitude of products with the “Twilight” stars’ faces on them. Lunchboxes, clothes, posters, cardboard cutouts — you name it, Taylor Lautner , Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson most likely have their likeness on it. And it seems that the wolf in that pack finds it all a bit daunting. “I haven’t seen anything too crazy. There’s a wide variation,” he revealed to MTV News about all the “Twilight”-related merchandise. “There’s ChapStick. There’s makeup kits. There’s the T-shirts, and there’s chocolate bars.” There isn’t a particular item that weirds him out, just the fact that there’s so, so much of it. “It’s just weird to see all those different things,” he said. “I don’t [have any of it]. I definitely do not.” While Stewart’s face isn’t on anything too out of the ordinary , she’s heard stories about some of the stuff the guys are on. “I’ve heard that there are pretty obscene items that you can get with the boys’ faces on them,” she said. “I’m actually just on T-shirts and dolls and stuff, to be honest. I don’t think I’m on bed sheets and stuff like that, which is still funny-weird.” Just how strange does it get? Pattinson will explain . “I like the glitter lube stuff. I thought that was really funny,” he laughed. “I was just like, ‘I did not sign that! Where is the paper?’ I think, yeah, I’m pretty sure it’s glitter. … I think it’s lube.” What’s your favorite piece of “Twilight” merchandise? Discuss in the comments! ‘Eclipse’: The Reviews Are In!

Some reviewers agree with one critic who praised the novelty of a blockbuster saga centered on ‘a girl’s primal dream of being desired.’ By Eric Ditzian Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in “Eclipse” Photo: Summit Would it be an exaggeration to say “Eclipse” is the most polarizing film of the year so far? In one corner, you have the Twilighters lining up outside theaters across the country to be among the first to check out the latest romance-laden adventure starring Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner. Those fans will line up again and again before the weekend is over, likely bringing “Eclipse” an opening box-office haul to match, if not exceed, the $142.8 million that “New Moon” grossed in November. In the other corner, you’ve got the skeptics, the who-watches-this-crap haters and the bloggers taking to the Web to spew vitriol at every moment of teen romance “Eclipse” has to offer. There will be no d

Kristen Stewart’s Boney Leg Show Continues

Kristen Stewart is everywhere these days promoting her latest sensitive vampire movie, I’m not complaining, she’s showing off her skinny long boney legs every chance she gets and I like it. They’re all pale and sexy. Hot. Anyhow, I’m glad that she’s at least trying to wear more women’s clothing, it suits her, but I know that once she’s done promoting this crap she’ll probably go back to her regular grungy jeans and ladies softball coach sweater so we’d better enjoy it while we can. more pictures of Kristen Stewart here

Fashion Face-Off: Kristen Stewart vs. Taylor Swift

They are two of the most beloved, gifted young stars alive – and they might get along very well in real life. But this is the virtual world, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Swift, and there are no friends in the world of fashion face-offs! The actress and the singer each wore the same J. Mendel dress out to public events over the last few months, although Stewart chose the strapless ivory version, while Taylor rocked it in lavender. This photo of Kristen is also outdated because she’s cut and dyed her hair since she walked the red carpet for the premiere of New Moon, but that doesn’t mean she can’t still take on Swift below. Compare, contrast and vote… Who wears this dress best?

‘Eclipse’ Moviegoers Get Pumped Up Outside NYC Midnight Screening

‘I’m going to see it again and again and again,’ one eager Twilighter tells MTV News. By Josh Wigler “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” Photo: Summit Only eight months have passed since “New Moon” hit theaters, but fans of “The Twilight Saga” have still waited anxiously for “Eclipse” to finally arrive. Thankfully, the waiting ends at midnight. “Eclipse” is officially here, bringing Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner back to the big screen once again. MTV News a New York movie theater to gauge fan excitement over the release of “Eclipse,” and unsurprisingly, the masses proved quite anxious for the movie’s first frames. “I’m really excited,” Hortencia Caires said. “I’ve read all of the series, all of the books, and I’ve watched all of the movies. I’m pretty darn stoked! I’m excited for Bella to finally make her choice. People portray Jacob as the guy she wants, but technically, I think she’s always wanted Edward. This is the right choice for her.” Indeed, the merit of Team Edward vs. Team Jacob was a hot-button issue among the many Twilighters we spoke with. “I’m Team Edward, duh!” Oladayo Idowu exclaimed proudly. “First, I was Jacob, and then I was Edward, because he’s best for [Bella].” “I’m on Team Jacob because he’s cute,” Cecilia Le said. “I don’t know. There are a lot of reasons!” Even fellow fans and friends Ellie Miltner and Amanda Lawrence couldn’t agree between Edward and Jacob. “I personally just like the vampire thing,” Amanda said, while Ellie declared: “I’m a werewolf kind of girl!” The two friends could agree on one thing: their most anticipated scene. “I’m most looking forward to the scene in the tent where Edward and Jacob are there together,” Ellie said, a notion Amanda agreed with. “They said it was really fun to film, so we’re excited about that, and he’s naked, so that’s the best part!” Other fans were excited to watch the highly touted action scenes, courtesy of acclaimed horror director David Slade. “I’m most excited for the scene where the vampires come out of the water and the big battle begins,” Stacey Harris said. Amanda Scully agreed with Stacey: “The scene where they fight at the end. It’s action-packed, and I like the action!” Even if fans had trouble agreeing on their favorite characters and scenes, they all shared the same infectious enthusiasm for the “Twilight” franchise. One fan even drove all the way to New York from Pennsylvania just to make sure her first viewing of “Eclipse” was extra special. “I live in Pennsylvania near Pittsburgh, and I wanted to come to an IMAX theater,” Erika Abad said. “I’ve never been to one.” “I’m really excited,” Oladayo said. “I’m here for [the midnight showing], so I’m surprised my mom even let me out! I’ve been waiting for this movie since I saw ‘Twilight.’ I’m going to see it again and again and again.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com .
