Matt Lauer Affair Alleged; Annette Roque to Divorce Today Show Hunk?

Sources claim that Today host and NBC resident sexy beast Matt Lauer’s affair has led to the imminent demise of his 11-year marriage to model Annette Roque. The National Enquirer does not name the alleged Matt Lauer mistress, but says his marriage is ending and that he is in the market for his own NYC apartment. “I heard he and Annette are breaking up. I was not shocked to hear that but it’s very sad,” Lauer’s ex-wife Nancy Alspaugh tells the celebrity gossip magazine. Annette Roque and Matt Lauer did file for divorce back in 2006 but later reconciled and have three young children together – Jack, 8, and Romy, 6 and Thijs, 2. Matt Lauer and wife Annette Roque have been married 11 years . We’d love to discredit the National Enquirer here, but it’s actually more reliable than people give it credit for – at least when it comes to big bombshell scandals. Bristol Palin’s pregnancy, Michael Jackson’s health woes, Tiger Woods’ affair with Rachel Uchitel and most significantly the Rielle Hunter scandal come to mind. We would not be surprised if its Matt Lauer affair story were true, but we’re holding off judgment for now. What do you think? Did the hunk cheat on Annette?

If there’s anything I’ve learned from reading Jezebel , it’s that women love paparazzi pictures of celebrities but hate the assumption that they can’t get along with each other. How to explain, then, the preponderance of movies like Mean Girls, Bride Wars , and the new Kristen Bell comedy You Again , which suggest women are never more entertaining then when they’re taking each other down?

Best. Casts. Ever?

Two comedies are staffing up with some mighty impressive casts. First, we’ve got the Kristen Wiig vehicle known as Bridesmaids , which is adding Jon Hamm, Dianne Wiest and Matt Lucas to a cast that already includes Rose Byrne, Maya Rudolph, Ellie Kemper, and a raft of other female comics. Then there’s the Steve Martin-Jack Black-Owen Wilson bird-watching comedy The Big Year , which has brought on Rashida Jones, Jim Parsons, Rosamund Pike, Joel McHale, Dianne Wiest (again!) and many more. What’s On: Trying to Defy Gravity

Starz’s freshman suicide survivor series debuted last week and proved that, like Dead Like Me and Six Feet Under before it, balancing comedy, drama and death is tough. Even with bubbly Kristen Ritter, whose character designed an actual “death by chocolate” cake, the show still has far to go before it finds its footing.
