Matt Barnes Fights Derek Fisher Over His Courtship Of Estranged Wife Gloria Govan Hasn’t this guy gotten himself into enough trouble for one year??? Matt Barnes reputation as the epitome of a silky-haired fake tough guy proceeds him, but his mission to prove how macho he is has now reached critical mass. The Memphis Grizzlies’ baller was at training camp in Santa Barbara when he got word that Derek was parlaying at the Los Angeles crib where he used to lay his head before becoming estranged from his wife Gloria Govan. The news sent Matt into a rage and he hot-tailed it to L.A. For those who aren’t well-versed in geography, Santa Barbara is approximately 95 miles from Los Angeles. 95 MILES! According to the NYPost , Matt’s intent was to “beat the s#!t” out of Fisher. “Derek was in Gloria’s back yard with about 10 people having a bonfire on Saturday,” said a source. “Derek’s separated from his wife and there’s a relationship with [Gloria].” The source added, “Barnes was in Santa Barbara [at Memphis Grizzlies training camp] and heard that Fisher was in his house. He went crazy. He got in his car and went to the house and went after Fisher.” Another source said, “Someone told Matt that Fisher was at the house and he drove down there — he went over to confront Derek.” A source close to Fisher confirmed the fight but said, “Matt came after Derek but he only had a few scratches … Derek’s not going to press charges, he’s going to let it go.” That “couple of scratches” story SOUNDS good, however… Derek Fisher was not at practice due to personal reasons – expected back tomorrow.
