With Lamar Odom fighting for his life in a Las Vegas hospital, it's worth sadly remembering all the former basketball star has been through. 1. Left All Alone Lamar’s mother died of cancer when he as 12 years old. His father, Joe Odom, was addicted to heroine and scarcely in the picture when Odom was a child. 2. Off-Court Troubles Odom was a high school phenom on the basketball court. However, academic troubles (along with a citation for soliciting prostitution) plagued Odom prior to him transferring from UNLV to the University of Rhode Island. 3. On to the NBA Odom was selected fourth overall in the 1999 NBA draft by the Los Angeles Clippers. A couple years later, he was suspended twice in an eight-month span for marijuana use. 4. Goodbye to Grandma In 2003, Odom’s maternal grandmother Mildred, who helped raise him, passed away. 5. An Unspeakable Loss Three years later, Odom’s 6-month-old son, Jayden, died from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome while sleeping in his crib. 6. Once a scandalous photo or video hits the world wide webs, it is bloody difficult to expunge, as it will always be cached or reposted somewhere. Just ask the lawyers up in arms over the Justin Bieber nude photos . In that case, at least, Bieber isn’t too mad … unlike Weezy right now. If you missed it, the Lil Wayne sex tape rumors first surfaced a few weeks ago, then a clip hit the web basically confirming that the tape is real. And kinda boring, minus the fact that Weezy is wearing socks. Only socks. The two girls he’s with, reportedly strippers, do most of the heavy lifting, so to speak, as the 33-year-old lies there enjoying himself. Anyway, he’s not pleased about the footage going viral online. Wayne’s attorneys fired off a cease and desist letter to Hollywood Street Kings, the blog that somehow got ahold of and has been posting clips. The letter does not even concede there is a sex tape, per se, but implies that if there were one, Wayne had no idea he was being filmed in it. One Direction shocked fans in Dublin on Friday night by playing the track “Perfect” for the first time in a public venue. The song will be included on the group's upcoming album, “Made In The A.M.,” and many believe it to be somewhat of a shot at Taylor Swift . How come? “Perfect” is similar to Swift’s “Style” both musically and lyrically, as both mention Harry Styles and Swift taking midnight drives together. The songs actually mash-up well together, while the chorus for “Perfect” included the following lyrics: “And if you’re looking for someone to write your breakup songs about/Baby, I’m perfect.” Case closed, right? Khloe Kardashian remains at Lamar Odom’s bedside as reports surface that the two are not legally divorced and she is making his medical decisions. Moreover, she stands to inherit a large portion of his estate if he passes away, as the ailing basketball star did not have a will, and the law is the law. Insiders say rumors of Khloe feuding with Liza Morales over Lamar’s estate are false, and that she is by his side only because she cares about him. The feeling was/is mutual, as Lamar has not let their divorce get in the way of his feelings, as he never took steps to disinherit her from his fortune. Khloe and Lamar had a prenup, separating her money from his. In some cases, prenups state that a spouse is disinherited from the other spouse. Not the case with these two. With no will, under California law, if he were to die, Kardashian would be entitled to 1/3 of the 35-year-old’s personal fortune. His kids with Liza Morales would get the remaining 2/3. Khloe doesn’t need, care about or want the money, but if this sad story were to end tragically, the reality star would inherit it just the same. Odom also has several life insurance trusts, making both Khloe and his kids with Liz beneficiaries. We just hope this is all a moot point. The amazing news is that there has been a ray of hope. Lamar is not out of the woods yet, but he is doing better. Many predicted he’d be brain dead after his overdose, but his heart is doing better and Odom is off life support and breathing on his own. Splash News Breaking Through: Lamar Odom Making Progress, Breathing With Out Life Support After Drug Overdose We reported earlier that Lamar Odom was communicating with family at his bed side by squeezing Khloes hand, now doctors say he’s moving in the right direct and almost ready to breathe on his own. About 48 hours ago , Lamar Odom needed the help of a life support machine to pump his organs with oxygen but, today he was able to breathe again on his own, for a few moments. TMZ is reporting that Odom is now able to breathe with the help of an oxygen mask, rather than a ventilator. As a precaution doctors have returned Lamar to his ventilator until he gets much healthier, but they have tested him with an oxygen masked and it worked out fine for a short time. Breathing on his own is a positive sign towards recovery. This break through comes after the athlete suffered a severe drug overdose in Nevada.
After individually sending their thoughts and prayers to Lamar Odom via social media this week, the young members of the Kardashian-Jenner family have released a joint statement. With Odom allegedly brain dead and with hope tragically running low, the sisters gave fans a brief update on their personal status, while also touching on their latest business ventures. Via a message posted on the new websites of Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner, the siblings wrote: “As a family, we’ve decided to hold off on publishing content across our apps while we continue to support and pray for Lamar. Thank you for your kindness and understanding during this difficult time.” (Kourtney Kardashian does not have an app.) Following a weekend of partying at a brothel in Nevada, Odom was found unconscious on Tuesday afternoon. Tests have revealed both cocaine and a dangerous herbal supplement were in his system at the time of the incident, with Khloe, Kim and Kris Jenner flying to Lamar’s hospital bedside as soon as they learned the news. Other family members later joined them, although everyone except Khloe has now headed back home to California. Odom, however, remains in a coma. Earlier this month, we reported that Carole Middleton got noticeably drunk while attending a rugby match at London’s Twickenham Stadium. A single instance of Carole knocking back one pint too many is amusing. Unfortunately, sources are now claiming that it happens quite often and that Duchess Kate often cringes in embarrassment at her mother’s sloshed behavior. “It seems to be happening a lot lately,” a source tells Star magazine. “It’s a huge concern for Kate. She’ll hide her booze at her house, but mom just brings her own! Last Christmas, Carole had too much to drink and started telling totally inappropriate jokes. “Kate was so humiliated that she finally had to drag her away. As you’ve probably heard by now, Lamar Odom was found unconscious in his VIP suite at the Love Ranch brothel in Nevada. The 35-year-old former NBA star remains in a coma in a Las Vegas hospital, and sadly, it looks as though he’ll never regain consciousness. Lamar Odom Pill-Popping Video Doctors believe Odom suffered a drug overdose brought about by binging on alcohol, cocaine, opiates and Reload – an “herbal Viagra supplement” that had recently been recalled by the FDA. Now, Radar Online has obtained security footage from the Love Ranch that purportedly shows Odom partying with hookers and popping pills that are most likely Reload. Insiders say the slumped figure in the background is Odom. The footage was reportedly taken at about 5:30 pm the day before he lapsed into a coma. In the video, a woman in the foreground prepares shots and chasers and brings them to Odom, leading many to believe that he used liquor to swallow his pills. Radar Online and other outlets who have analyzed the footage claim that Odom can be seen reaching into a small plastic bag full of pills and removing several capsules, though due to the quality of the video, it’s difficult to tell exactly what he’s doing.
