D.A. May Charge Lamar Odom With Possession Of Cocaine Following Brothel Overdose According to TMZ , Nye County D.A. Angelo Bello is close to filing charges against Lamar Odom for his possession of cocaine and or being under the influence of a controlled substance. Research shows that there has never, repeat NEVER, been a person prosecuted after overdosing and being hospitalized. At this point Lamar has almost died, being hooked to tubes, spent time in 2 hospitals, can barely speak, walk, or recognize his family and the D.A. STILL wants to hit him with charges??? Isn’t that a bit excessive? What good does that serve Lamar or the public at large? The D.A.’s office maintains that Lamar is not being railroaded because of his public persona, but if no one has EVER been charged under these circumstances before, what the big f***ing deal? Khloe Kardashian talked candidly about Lamar Odom’ s condition during her recent appearance on Ellen. The former NBA star was hospitalized on October 13th in Nevada after he was found unconscious at a brothel. Khloe has barely left his side, save for a few personal and professional engagements. Odom has since been transferred to Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles, but he’s still not fully aware of the extent of his injuries. “We tell him that he had a brain injury, but we can’t tell him how that brain injury was caused, because that will set him back,” Khloe explained to Ellen DeGeneres. “He never asks why he’s here. He doesn’t ask,” she said. “He’s really confused a lot — sometimes he knows who the president is and his birthday, and sometimes he thinks he’s 26, and I say I bet you wish you were 26, so do I!” The reality star, who is also promoting her book, Strong Looks Better Naked , said she is putting off their divorce not because there’s a chance they’ll get back together, but because he needs someone to look out for him. “I’m there helping him and I love him and I’ve always loved him, and that will never change,” she said. “I just feel like it’s a really insensitive thing to fast forward a divorce. “He’s a fantastic person who deserves support and love and for someone to be by his side and for me I’m that to him. ” Khloe’s appearance on Ellen airs Monday, November 16th. The good news is, Lamar Odom is on the mend after the overdose that nearly claimed his life. The bad news is, he’s still enmeshed with the Kardashian family, which means everything he does is viewed as a possible source of TV ratings. We’ve already heard about Kris Jenner’s attempts to cash in on Odom’s overdose , but now she’s apparently taking things to the next level – and seriously pissing off Khloe Kardashian in the process. According to Radar Online, Kris recently presented Lamar with a contract which would ensure that footage of his recovery could be used on upcoming episodes of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. “Khloe confronted Kris after she found out that her mother tried to get Lamar to sign the contract in order to be able to use the footage that has been shot for next season’s show,” says an insider. “Kris knows that that having this be a huge part of Season 11 would be great for ratings because viewers will definitely tune in. Khloe thinks that Kris is being completely irrational about this.” Yeah, we’re gonna have to go ahead and side with Khloe on this one. Unfortunately, it seems everyone’s favorite Kardashian doesn’t quite know what she’s up against: “She told Kris that Lamar is not a part of the show any more and neither she, nor him, will make money off of this.” says the source. “But in the end, Kris knows that she is going to win this fight because she calls the shots.” Seriously, Khloe, think this one through. As we reported earlier, Khloe Kardashian covers the new issue of People , and inside the magazine, the 31-year-old reality star gives one of her most revealing interviews to date. Khloe already cleared the air and responded to critics who say that she’s exploiting Lamar’s situation, by explaining that the People cover shoot was completed before Lamar’s overdose. That may explain why so much of the interview is focused not on Lamar, but on the other troubled man in her life: “Rob is such a great guy,” she says of her younger brother. “He’s charming, charismatic, everything. That’s what’s so infuriating. I’m like, ‘Where is your will to live life? Let’s be around people!'” Khloe goes on to explain her theory on why Rob seems to have such a harder time in life than his siblings: “My dad died when Rob was 16. Rob doesn’t have a father figure in his life. When Bruce was around, he was great, but he was going through his own things that none of us understood at the time. Lamar was [Rob’s father figure]. Once Lamar left – and it’s not Lamar’s fault at all – I think Rob didn’t know where to go. He was like, ‘I don’t have guidance anymore.'” Yes, it certainly sounds like he’s had a rough go of it in recent years, but that doesn’t mean that Khloe plans to sit idly by while Rob drinks, smokes weed and plays video games all day while living in her house rent-free: “I’ve been working on my patience. I’ve been really trying. But I have my moments and I do snap. I’ve offered to get a chef, I’m like, ‘What’s your excuse?'” “But it’s not just that. I can’t win life for Rob. I have to wait until [he’s] ready to do it for himself … It’s sad, because he’s only wasting his life more and more. But he has to figure it out for himself. And he has so many people who want to help him.” We can imagine her frustration. Rob has had a lot of advantages that very few people enjoy, but at the end of the day depression is depression and addiction is addiction, and Rob’s got a tough road ahead of him. Even with the help of an awesome sister (and a personal chef) it won’t be easy for the man to get his life back.
The strokes didn’t have a major impact on his vital organs, but did affect his motor skills, and Lamar’s doctors haven’t clarified whether or not the impairment is permanent.
