Lauren Conrad: Summer Style Star

We cover a lot of celebrity fashion all-stars, but if you had to pick a star to emulate, you can’t go wrong incorporating elements of Lauren Conrad’s summer style. Not only can she dress for any occasion, her basic philosophies on accessories (sunscreen is #1) and makeup (less is more) are brilliant in their simplicity. Contrast that with Heidi Montag and her ilk, or even to a lesser extreme, the many celebrities who feel they need to lather on layer upon layer of makeup 24/7. Rather than the bimbo route, take your cues from a girl who knows how to do more with less, but still manages to look stylish in a wide variety of looks … SoCal native Lauren Conrad knows how to dress for summer . She’s a natural beauty, that’s for certain. For more on the former Hills star’s many warm-weather looks, click to enlarge tons more Lauren Conrad pictures …

‘Lost’ Finale: Jessica Simpson, Sarah Silverman Admit Shedding Tears

Lauren Conrad, Dominic Monaghan, Conan O’Brien weigh in on show’s long-awaited finale. By MTV News Staff The cast of “Lost” Photo: ABC There were things going on in the world on Sunday night apart from the “Lost” series finale . Bret Michaels won on “Celebrity Apprentice,” “Shrek Forever After” topped the box office, and the Mets and Yankees faced off at Citi Field. But for many people, the only thing worth discussing is “Lost.” Celebs from Jessica Simpson and Lauren Conrad to Neil Patrick Harris and Sarah Silverman were tuned in for the “Lost” extravaganza and tweeting about it the whole time. “Powerful ending of ‘Lost,’ ” Jessica Simpson tweeted . “Wow. Incredibly beautiful! Cried so many times in the last 5hrs of ABC LOST TV!” Lauren Conrad tweeted , “Who’s watching the ‘Lost’ finale? It’s like X-mas. You can’t wait for it to finally be here, but u don’t want it to be over!” That’s exactly how “Lost” star Dominic Monaghan was feeling about the show. “Sad to say goodbye to ‘LOST,’ but hoping fans have enjoyed the adventure,” he wrote. Neil Patrick Harris certainly enjoyed the ride. “I haven’t read the reviews, don’t know the consensus. But I watched the @LOST finale last night, and I loved it! Bravo cast/crew/creators!” “Twilight” saga co-star Chaske Spencer agreed with the sentiment, and started to mourn a future without the mysterious island in his life. “I can’t believe LOST is over!” he wrote. Christopher Mintz-Plasse took in the Celtics-Magic basketball game earlier in the evening — “I am going to go get my Rondo on, so no one ruin the last Lost for me!!! I will watch it tomorrow. Holy b—s, it is almost done,” he wrote — but caught up with the action later. “Craziness. ‘Lost’ finale. Well done,” he wrote later, adding, “I feel a little incomplete knowing I won’t be watching anymore new ‘Lost’ episodes. Man, that finale was a little too touching.” How to battle those “Lost” blues? Series exec producer Damon Lindelof has some ideas. “Remember,” he said. “Let go. Move on. I will miss it more than I can ever say.” Sarah Silverman , meanwhile, had some kind word for Lindelof and his team. “I can’t tell if I’m crying because it was beautiful or because I’m sad it’s over,” wrote the comedian. “Thank you ‘LOST’ for 6 amazing years.” And then there were those celebs who hadn’t made the six-year “Lost” commitment. “Please don’t tell me how ‘Lost’ ended last night,” tweeted Conan O’Brien . “I’m up to the part where they discover a hatch.” What did you think of the finale? ‘Hills’ Buzz Moment #1: Lauren Conrad Leaves, Kristin Cavallari Enters

When LC decided to leave ‘The Hills’ behind, Cavallari was there to keep the drama alive. By Jocelyn Vena Lauren Conrad Photo: Getty Images Over the years fans have watched Lauren Conrad grow up as the main protagonist on “The Hills.” We were there when she graduated from high school and when she when she decided to move to L.A. to study fashion in college. We saw her first love with Jason Whaler and her first heartbreak . “I don’t want you out of my life, but I can’t be normal with you,” she later told Whaler when they decided to end their relationship. Fans also go to see the sweet beginning and bitter end to the friendship with Heidi Montag . “We don’t really have a relationship,” LC later said about her relationship with Heidi. “We’re friendly with each other. I don’t have a problem with her, but, you know, we’re not great friends.” Yet when Lauren decided to leave the show in 2009, viewers couldn’t imagine “The Hills” without her — until it was announced that a familiar face and her former “Laguna Beach” frenemy was moving back in. Kristin Cavallari immediately caused a splash in “The Hills” reminding us all why we loved to hate her. “It’s almost like going home. It’s really comfortable,” Cavallari said of joining the show in its fifth season. “I know what to expect going into it, so I think I’m just more excited than anything.” So with “The Hills” coming to a close this season, Cavallari is now, once again, center stage, which means we’re sure to see a whole lot of drama. But we’ll still keep our fingers crossed that Lauren makes a return , even if she’s hinted to the fact that she’s already moved on. “I’m not planning on it,” she said last year. “I’m happy with the time I walked away, and I think that from now on, they’re going to pick it up and do a great show. But I think that my time on it is done.” What are some of your favorite “Hills” moments? ‘Hills’ Buzz Moment #3: Lauren Conrad Chooses Her Man Over Paris

LC turns down Teen Vogue ‘s overseas internship to spend the summer with then-boyfriend Jason Wahler. By Jocelyn Vena Lauren Conrad Photo: MTV The old saying goes that before you find your prince, you have to kiss a few frogs. In Lauren Conrad’s case, one of the bigger frogs happened to be former “Laguna Beach” co-star Jason Wahler. By the time Jason made the transition to “The Hills,” the pair were already experiencing their share of problems. Still, she decided to get serious and give Jason one more chance as summer approached and the series’ first season drew to a close. Although she probably knew that Jason wasn’t right for her, LC couldn’t resist giving the troubled relationship another go. “It’s like there’s this guy who I really like, and he’s done something really terrible to me,” she said to Jason. “But I still like him.” Even friend/roommate Heidi Montag could see there might be trouble ahead. Heidi warned her then-bestie, “Just be careful with Jason.” LC was determined to make it work: “I got my guard up this time. It’s fine.” But in spite of all the fighting, including a major blowup on New Year’s Eve, Lauren held on to Jason through the bad times — and the good. And it may have been those good times that prompted Lauren to make one potentially life-changing decision. ‘The Hills’ Most Buzzed-About Moments – #4: Heidi Moves Out … And On – #5: Kristin Cavallari Declares War – #6: Heidi And Spencer’s Many Weddings – #7: Holly Gets Tipsy At Speidi’s Rehearsal Dinner – #8: Heidi Montag Crashes Lauren’s Party – #9: Justin Is Renamed ‘Justin Bobby’ – #10: Stephanie Pratt’s Job Interview “Today, Lisa Love offered me an internship for the whole summer [in Paris],” LC told her beau of her Teen Vogue boss’ jaw-dropping offer. Lauren decided to stay with Jason, which only proved to be another source of tension in their doomed relationship. (“I don’t want you out of my life, but I can’t be normal with you,” she later told him.) It was also a mistake in her career. As Lisa Love put it: “Lauren didn’t go to Paris. She’s going to always be known as the girl who didn’t go to Paris.” What are some of your favorite “Hills” moments? ‘Hills’ Buzz Moment #5: Kristin Cavallari Declares War

In her first episode as the new star of ‘The Hills,’ Kristin tells Audrina and Stephanie: ‘It’s on, bi—!’ By Jocelyn Vena Kristin Cavallari in “The Hills” Photo: MTV With so many moments counted down — and with the stars giving MTV News their favorites before “The Hills” final season debuts Tuesday — we’ve now reached #5 on our list of the most buzzed-about scenes in the show’s history. With Lauren Conrad off the show in season five, newcomer Kristin Cavallari immediately brought her own brand of drama. Since her days on “Laguna Beach,” wherever Cavallari goes, the drama follows. When she made her big return to reality TV, she made sure we knew that she was back in full force. As a surprise guest at Speidi’s wedding , Kristin immediately hung out with Justin Bobby , much to Audrina Patridge’s dismay. Months later, when the entire crew was hanging out at a rooftop party, the two ladies came to verbal blows over JB. No one could have predicted that during Kristin’s first episode, the drama that we’ve always loved on “The Hills” would be brought to a whole new level. That fight — in which Kristin declared, “It’s on, bi—!” — certainly set the tone for the rest of the season, and Kristin lived up to her promise of bringing nothing but excitement. “The [moment] that really stands out the most for me was the first episode that I was on. … The fight that I got into with Audrina and Stephanie was so out of left field,” Cavallari later told MTV News. “It was the last thing I was expecting to happen, and it was probably one of the biggest fights I’ve ever been in.” What are some of your favorite “Hills” moments? ‘Hills’ Buzz Moment #6: Heidi And Spencer’s Many Weddings

Speidi made it official last year after a few proposals and one not-quite-legal ceremony. By Jocelyn Vena Heidi Montag gets married on “The Hills” Photo: Max Butterworth/Louise Barnsley/PacificCoastNews It was the moment — well, moments — that kept “Hills” fans guessing. Over the show’s five seasons, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt have gone through two proposals, three weddings and a whole lot of drama — which all adds up to the #6 spot on our list of the most buzzed-about moments on “The Hills.” Over the course of their relationship, not everyone has been rooting for Speidi to stick it out, and Spencer hasn’t always been the best influence on Heidi. He broke up her friendship with Lauren Conrad, caused problems with her family and didn’t always give her sage career advice. Yet, despite the animosity toward him, it seemed like maybe Spencer had changed when he decided back in 2007 to take his relationship with Heidi to a whole new level and proposed to her for the first time. But the two couldn’t agree on all the details. Heidi wanted a lavish wedding, while he wanted to elope, and of course, in the end, Spencer got his way. So, on a trip to Mexico fueled by some tequila, Heidi and Spencer eloped. But a Mexican wedding doesn’t mean you’re really married in the United States, and upon their return, Heidi and Spencer wanted to make it legal in a courtroom wedding in Los Angeles. The news was not well-received, but thanks to some advice from sister Stephanie, Spencer showed us all he actually has a heart. “I just want to give you the wedding of your dreams, and I will deal with it,” Spencer told Heidi, forgoing the courtroom ceremony. “It’s worth it, and we’ll do it the way you want.” Eventually, Spencer proposed again, and Heidi finally got the wedding she always dreamed of — plus a nice rock. On April 25, 2009, friends and family gathered to see Speidi make it official in a fairy-tale wedding . With Lauren Conrad in attendance and Kristin Cavallari making an appearance, it was a day to remember. Stephanie later told MTV News , “This is with the family. There was a legal priest, and the ceremony had prayers. It was completely different.” What are some of your favorite “Hills” moments? Heidi Montag Drops Hills Sexual Harassment Claim

Heidi Montag has decided not to sue The Hills creator, Adam DiVello, for alleged sexual harassment after all. You mean it was all a trumped-up stunt? Shock. The surgically enhanced bimbo had accused DiVello of inappropriately groping her during a cast photo shoot in March, which seemed a little absurd to us. For one, MTV stood by DiVello, said it investigated the matter and decried her harassment claim , while other stars like Lauren Conrad defended him too. Secondly, look who we’re talking about. Heidi Montag’s fake boobs aren’t even sexually attractive anymore … there’s a point in which it’s comedic, not hot. In any case, she consulted with her lawyers about a lawsuit, and a source tells the New York Post, “Heidi and Spencer Pratt have changed their minds.”
