Casey Anthony Video Diary: Possibly Hacked, Definitely Her

Plenty of questions surround the strange Casey Anthony video diary, which mysteriously surfaced online a day ago, but two things are crystal clear: 1. Everyone’s talking about it, and 2. The whole thing is bizarre. No one seems to know why Anthony would record the thing, but even more strange is the lack of information regarding its release and Casey’s role in that. It almost magically appeared in the Facebook ether without explanation, even by the person who posted it. Even that anonymous person pleads ignorance. Casey Anthony Video Diary The video is taken in mirror image, thus making it harder to pinpoint her location, and the audio cuts in and out throughout, which may indicate editing. Some think it was released by Casey Anthony , unintentionally or intentionally, only to be yanked offline quickly, but not before one person discovered it. Others, chiefly Anthony’s attorney Cheney Mason, feel her computer was broken into by a sophisticated hacker. Mason told the Today Show as much: “If we find out who did it and how they did it, then they are going to be, I hope, answering to state and federal law enforcement agencies,” he said. Meanwhile, the original YouTube poster , who claims he didn’t steal it, spoke to E! News about how he got his hands on it … and is extremely vague. “I checked Facebook one day and I had a message saying, ‘I have some things that you might be interested in and I trust you with it,'” the poster said. He would not reveal his name for obvious reasons. Adding that he was sent the video by an unnamed acquaintance, he says, “They gave me the video because they trusted me with the video and the pictures.” “They knew I would not try and make money off it. And if it did leak onto the Internet, they would be authentic and that they were not fake Caseys.” The poster said before releasing it on YouTube, he blocked out names of specific people Casey mentioned before posting it onto his channel as “unlisted.” Asked why he released the clip at all, the poster said he simply wanted “Casey Anthony supporters to see that the secretive 25-year-old “is happy.” Casey Anthony has supporters? And despite the viral spread of the footage that he made possible, the poster insisted that Casey never intended the video for public consumption. “Casey did not want people to see these videos. Cheney Mason, her lawyer, says that Casey is doing the video diaries as a form of therapy.” “She has nobody. She has her dog and her webcam.” And yes, that was video diaries, plural. The poster confirmed he was in possession of a second video of Casey but does not plan on releasing it. The first video was up for four minutes before, the guy says, the Facebook group The People Against ‘We Support Casey Anthony’ found and reposted it. That is the alleged source of the widespread leak. “I did not mean for this to happen. I wish it would go away,” the poster said. “It snowballed out of control. I feel sorry for her because the media is ripping her and the video apart. They need to let the girl live. I respect the constitution and she was found not guilty.” The poster clarified that he does not know and has never met or been in contact with Casey Anthony, but claimed to know that Anthony has since altered her physical appearance from the blond bob and glasses look she had in the video. Well, that settles that. Raise your hand if this clears it up for you. Hello? Anyone?

Cry Me A River: Even Though He Pleaded Guilty, Shane Sparks Says He Didn’t Do The Grown Up With A Teenage Girl On Purpose

Look who’s got words to say in his defense all of a sudden. Almost four months after pleading guilty to having unlawful sex with a minor and being sentenced to less than a year in prison , Shane Sparks has written an open-letter to the world to let us all know he really wasn’t responsible for taking advantage of a 12-year-old. To the dance industry, peers and fans, “Within the last few years of my life I have encountered many difficulties, all while being unable to freely speak and share my side of the story. The truth of the matter is that when I was in my early twenties, over 17 years ago, I began seeing a young lady who I thought at the time was of age. She was an employee at (a well known Los Angeles) dance studio, where I was a dance instructor. My biggest regret and mistake was not making sure that she was over 18 when I began a physical relationship with her. This young lady’s mother was fully aware and knew that her daughter and I were seeing one another, and consented to the relationship, while leading me to believe that her daughter was older. Nevertheless, I apologize to her and her daughter for any harm I may have caused them. For a few years now, I’ve had to deal with the public humiliation and personal strife of being condemned by heinous and false accusations. The case is now over and I was eventually charged and convicted of one count of having sexual relations with a minor, and my punishment was to engage in counseling, which I have already began, and I may have to complete four months in a private jail facility. After my case was over, TMZ released an inaccurate story stating that there were six other ladies who had been assaulted by me which is completely false. Statements by my attorney and the prosecuting attorney from the District Attorney’s Office will confirm how false and misleading TMZ’s story was. I am disappointed and hurt that TMZ would report such a false story without first checking the facts, by contacting the District Attorney’s Office. Deputy District Attorney: Alison A.W. Meyers wrote a legal statement proving that I was cleared of TMZ’s accusations stating that other minors came forward as victims. “While the case was pending against Mr. Sparks, no other chargeable victims ever came forward to discuss with me any allegations of the defendant having (sexual encounters) with them when they were underage.” – DDA Alison A.W. Meyers I am taking all the necessary steps to move towards a positive path and clear my name so I may be remembered as a man of faith, and a talented dancer/choreographer, and leave behind a legacy my loved one’s can be proud of. I can only hope that people will finally hear my side of the story and be forgiving instead of believing false accusations that the media highlights. I would like to thank my family, friends, and supporters for standing by my side and providing me with their strength during this trying time in my life. I love you all, and will be forever grateful.” -Shane Sparks Yeah… you know what? Maybe you should have lead with this in 2009 when you first got popped. And if you had the consent of the mother of your underage girlfriend who looked six years older than she was, why would your lawyer let you cop a plea instead of fighting to defend yourself? Source

Dottie Sandusky Releases Statement, Stands By Husband

For the first time since her husband was arrested on multiple charges of heinous sex crimes against young boys, Dottie Sandusky has spoken out. Dottie says she’s been “shocked and dismayed by the allegations made against” the ex-Penn State coach, adding: “As the mother of six children, I have been devastated by these accusations. “Our children, our extended family and friends know how much Jerry and I love kids and have always tried to help and care for them. We would never do anything to hurt them. I am so sad anyone would make such a terrible accusation which is absolutely untrue. We don’t know why these young men have made these false accusations, but we want everyone to know they are untrue.” Earlier today, Dottie helped bail her husband out of jail by writing a personal check for $50,000. He remains confined to the couple’s house and, if his lawyer has any brains at all, will stop making public statements such as these .

Man Who Beat His Mentally Disabled Wife To Death With Flashlight After She Tried To Murk Their Kids Was Sentenced 15-30 Years

What would you do if you came home to your wife attempting to kill your children??? A New Hampshire man was sentenced Friday to 15 to 30 years in prison for beating his mentally ill wife to death with a flashlight after he came home to find she had strangled their 4-year-old son with a ribbon and tried to kill their 7-year-old daughter. Christopher Smeltzer, 39, pleaded guilty to killing Mara Pappalardo, who was hospitalized several times for mental illness. Prosecutors say she was paranoid, obsessed with death and convinced her husband and mother-in-law were plotting to take her children away. Smeltzer initially was charged with second-degree manslaughter. Prosecutors at his plea hearing in October changed the charge to manslaughter by provocation in deference to the horrific scene that triggered his actions. The 90-minute sentencing took place in a Rockingham Superior courtroom. There was tension between members of Smeltzer’s family and his wife’s. And at one point, a member of her family shouted to Smeltzer that God will be the judge of his actions. Senior Assistant Attorney General Jane Young said what happened at the Smeltzer home Nov. 7, 2010 “was simply a tragedy.” The voices of the two survivors of that tragedy — Smeltzer and his daughter — were heard publicly for the first time during Friday’s sentencing. A tape recording of Mercey reading a letter to the judge was played by her lawyer; the girl did not attend the hearing. Mercey’s young voice hushed the courtroom. “I am mad and sad that my Daddy killed my Mommy and brother Mason,” she says on the tape. The girl, who lives with one of her mother’s sisters, ends by saying, “Please keep him in jail for the rest of his life.” Young said Mercey’s statement contradicts what she said in the days after the attacks and to her counselor. Smeltzer said he wished he had a “rewind button” to go back and change what he did, including leaving his delusional wife to do cocaine and smoke crack with his friends. He came home, prosecutors say, to find his son strangled, his daughter dangling off the bed with a scarf wound around her neck and his wife in the throes of a suicide attempt. “As soon as I saw my son I knew something was very wrong,” Smeltzer said, choking with emotion. “I knew he was dead and I lost all control. Enraged, I struck my wife. I did something that was not going to bring my son back.” Smeltzer believed his daughter was dead as well. Prosecutors say toxicology tests confirm he took a large quantity of pills in an effort to take his own life. They say Mercey awakened him the next morning and asked if her mother and brother were breathing, and asked her father to make her some tea. Defense attorney John Newman asked the judge to impose a 7 1/2 to 10 year sentence, saying he could think of no greater provocation to manslaughter than Smeltzer picking up his dead son, putting his mouth to his son’s mouth only to find it ice cold. Wow there’s just too much wrong with this story we don’t know where to begin. At first, we felt bad for dude until we found out he left his wife home with the kids to go snort some yayo and suck on a glass d*ck. WTF?!?!?! Source

Justin Bieber, Scooter Braun Address ‘Unfortunate’ Paternity Suit

Pop star jokes that a better false allegation would have been: ‘Justin Bieber went off to South America with this 27-year-old supermodel.’ By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber at New York radio station Z100 on Thursday Photo: Kevin Mazur/WireImage Justin Bieber stopped by New York radio station Z100 on Thursday morning (November 17) and addressed a number of subjects, from his favorite candy (Swedish Fish) to his early crush on Selena Gomez to his Christmas album, Under the Mistletoe. But there was one topic he couldn’t avoid: the paternity suit . “Right now, I’m focusing on my album and the music and the [Pencils of Promise] charity we’re doing, and just being positive because Christmastime is a time for joy and happiness, so that’s what I’m thinking,” Bieber told Elvis Duran and crew. “And as far as the whole baby situation, it’s unfortunate that it had to happen like that. People make false accusations, but things happen in this industry and you have to keep your head high and be positive.” When asked if he wondered why he was the target of Mariah Yeater’s allegations, he joked, “If it was up to me, it would have been a better story like, ‘Justin Bieber went off to South America with this 27-year-old supermodel.’ That would have been awesome. “They say that any press is good press — I do not believe that’s true,” the pop star added. “If you’re in the spotlight, then people are looking at you to be a role model, and if you’re doing bad things to be getting press, I think that’s really, really sad.” While Bieber was diplomatic about his response, his manager, Scooter Braun, had stronger words for Yeater and her legal team . “Look, I don’t usually talk in front of mics but the bottom line is they said they’re in settlement talks with us, and the only thing I’m gonna say is they will never be in settlement talks with us,” he said. “We will never settle with them. That’s my little guy right there — I protect him — and they messed with the wrong crew. “It’s false and people should be held accountable when they run out and say this stuff,” Braun continued. “And they have this lawyer running around saying, ‘Well, we want everything to be held confidentially now.’ But you don’t get to go out there and badmouth a 17-year-old kid to the entire world then suddenly think it’s going to stay confidential. We’re not gonna go away quietly. I’m from around [the NYC area], and you know that people from around here don’t like to be messed with.” Bieber also revealed what he wants his legacy to be: “[I want people to say], ‘He was a good entertainer; a great entertainer,’ more or less. I don’t want to be second- or third-best, but I want to be the best.” Justin’s visit to New York City won’t end with Z100. He’s also slated to make various radio and media appearances, including a gala held for the Pencils of Promise charity and a Make-A-Wish Foundation event on Friday, where he’ll be honored for granting the most wishes in 2011. The Real Housewives of New Jersey Reunion Recap: It’s Bash Teresa Night!

It was bash Teresa Giudice night at The Real Housewives of New Jersey Reunion but she certainly invited the abuse. THG breaks it all down in our + or – review … Jacqueline Laurita bowed out of the event. Minus 5 . I always thought the players were contractually obligated to show up for these things, even when they all hated one another and looked like fools at the end. But it looked like Bravo let her slide. The turmoil had something to do with Teresa and an event that took place in season four which was currently being filmed. I suppose that’s more reason to tune in next season. Caroline earned a Plus 12 when she admitted she was mean to Melissa and Kathy Waklie at the start of the season. She had judged them on what Teresa had told her before ever having met them. That was unfair but at least she owned up to it. Teresa still swore what she wrote in her cookbook was nothing but a joke. She won’t say which of her three sister in laws she was insulting and sees nothing wrong with throwing out barbs about Caroline’s son. Minus 8 . There was nothing funny in what she wrote and she can’t see anyone’s opinion but her own. We had to sit through yet one more showing of the christening debacle. Minus 5 . I hope to never have to watch that nonsense again. At least the housewives had the decency to lapse into stunned silence after it was shown. Melissa Gorga earned a Plus 10 for admitting that her husband helped escalate the fight. That’s progress. Another Plus 10 to Joe Gorga who supposedly told Caroline he regretted his actions and knew he was going to get a public beating after it was shown. Of course Caroline was blunt as ever and agreed with him. When asked, Kathy said that Teresa and Joe Gorgas’ tempers were acceptable. That they’re just passionate people. Bull. Minus 11 . They’re adults who should know better than to scream, curse, and throw things like foul mouthed toddlers having a tantrum. I don’t mean to be the grammar nazi but what is with the “yous”? Listening to the Housewives families speak was like watching My Cousin Vinny week after week. Minus 10 . I almost couldn’t believe that Teresa Giudice could tell Melissa she wasn’t a good wife because she didn’t invite herself to the premiere party while she was in the hospital with a newborn, then went on to accuse her of marrying Joe for his money and followed it up by saying Melissa was the one ruining things. “We’re in a good place. Why are you going back there?” Does the woman not listen to what she says. She’s the one who was dragging out past history. Minus another 10 . Did anyone else get the feeling that Teresa’s completely clueless about her family’s legal and financial troubles or that bankruptcy fraud could end them up in federal prison? Her “call my lawyer” response to Andy was the smartest thing she said all night. Plus 8 . Plus 15 to Caroline Manzo who called the entire conversation a “whirlwind of stupid.” Yup. That about sums it up. We’ll be back for part two next week. In the meantime, here’s where the points land … EPISODE TOTAL : +6 . SEASON TOTAL: -68 .

‘Avengers’ Team Is ‘The Definition Of Family’

‘Everybody is just an arm of the octopus,’ Robert Downey Jr., tells Entertainment Weekly. By Kara Warner Avengers on the cover of Entertainment Weekly Photo: Entertainment Weekly For the most dedicated “Avengers” fans who’ve been paying attention to every story printed, photo leaked or fan video uploaded to YouTube, it’s safe to say that nearly everything we know about the Joss Whedon-helmed superhero epic is pretty awesome. Entertainment Weekly has assembled the star-studded cast on the cover of this week’s issue, along with an accompanying cover story that offers yet another excitement-inducing glimpse into the makings of what could be next year’s biggest movie. Whedon told the mag that he fully understands the amount of pressure he’s under to deliver but that he has to allow himself room for error. “Every day I make some boneheaded mistake and I go, ‘Really? Wow. So no learning curve, huh?’ There is a weird element of: They handed me one of the biggest movies of all time, and I’m making it up as I go.” As far as the A-listers in the cast go, there have been learning curves on their end as well, like Mark Ruffalo feeling anxious about taking over the Hulk from predecessor Edward Norton. “Norton and I are friends, and he was like, ‘You’ve gotta do it, buddy.’ He basically bequeathed it to me,” Ruffalo said. “It was very cool and very generous of him.” Meanwhile, Robert Downey Jr. revealed that he had to come to terms with the “sharing is caring” aspect of the ensemble film, versus pushing for his Tony Stark to be the centerpiece like in his “Iron Man” movies. “I said [to Whedon], ‘I don’t know what you’re thinking, but Tony needs to drive this thing.’ He was like, ‘OK, let’s try that.’ We tried it, and it didn’t work,” Downey said. “Because this is a different sort of thing. Everybody is just an arm of the octopus.” That “octopus” — i.e. the ensemble cast that consists of Ruffalo’s Incredible Hulk, Downey’s Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, Chris Evans’ Captain America, Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye and Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow — has become one big happy family, according to all parties involved. “Joss describes it as the definition of family,” Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said. “These are people who have no business being together, but they are thrust together and need to make the best of it.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Avengers.” For breaking news and previews of the latest comic book movies — updated around the clock — visit SplashPage.MTV.com .

T.I. Once Again A Free Man

Tip was just released from an Atlanta halfway house, his lawyer confirms to MTV News. By Rob Markman T.I. Photo: Astrid Stawiarz/ Getty Images T.I. was released from a halfway house in Atlanta on Thursday (September 29) and has completed an 11-month sentence stemming from his 2010 arrest for drug possession, the rapper’s attorney confirmed to MTV News. “I’m excited our family is back together,” T.I.’s wife, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, told MTV News in a statement. “Tip definitely completes us.” “He’s out, he’s good,” T.I.’s manager and Grand Hustle partner, Jason Geter, told The Associated Press. Tip’s legal drama began with his 2007 arrest and eventual sentence on felony weapons charges. The Trap Muzik rapper was sentenced to one year and one day in prison in 2009; he completed nine months of his bid but was arrested again in October 2010 while driving in Los Angeles. The L.A. County district attorney’s office declined to file drug charges against T.I. after finding narcotics in his vehicle, but the multiplatinum spitter violated his federal probation and was sentenced to serve 11 months in prison in October 2010. According to the AP, T.I. will now have to serve one year of federal probation, but barring any infractions, there will be no more prison time. It has been speculated that T.I. would make an appearance at the 2011 BET Hip-Hop Awards, which are being taped in Atlanta on Saturday. When T.I. was arrested in 2007, it was just hours before that year’s BET ceremony. T.I.’s buddy DJ Drama couldn’t confirm whether the King of the South would attend the festivities, but he did express his excitement about Tip’s return to the studio. “Me and Tip have been friends, working together for almost a decade now, so we know what we gotta do,” he said. “It’s really time to get to work and get to the music.” T.I.’s record company, Atlantic Records, had no comment concerning the rapper’s release.
