Katy Perry Sort of Slams Taylor Swift: Is She Really America’s Sweetheart?

Did Katy Perry just throw a bit of shade at Taylor Swift? As has been well documented, there’s a simmering feud these two pop superstars, with Swift having openly said her song “Bad Blood” is about a rival in the music business. Sources confirm that Swift holds a grudge because she believes Perry stole a few backup dancers from her back during Swift’s “Red” tour in 2012. Perry has since confirmed the rivalry, and that was before she gave the latest issue of ELLE an exclusive interview. “You’ve got to name someone the villain, someone the princess, someone’s the mom [and] the dad type – you know there always have to be characters,” the artist said of the state music industry. “As pop figures, we’re all characters. And the media uses that.” She continued: “Who is the sweetheart, who is the villain? You know. Taylor’s the sweetheart. Kanye’s the villain. That’s the narrative.” So, who would Perry be? Maybe the one with the big boobs? Yes, at least according to Anna Kendrick . Granted, Perry is dissing the coverage of Swift more than Swift herself with this take… but her implication is clear: people say Taylor Swift is a “sweetheart.” But she’s not. Not based on what Perry knows about her. What do you think of Katy’s words? Are they fighting words? Do you agree with her assessment? Zoe Kravitz Works It Good In A Bikini

Here’s Zoe Kravitz , aka Lenny Kravitz’s kid, showing off a pretty great bikini body at the beach in Miami and I’m pretty sure this is the first time I’ve ever done a post on Zoe. I’m a little surprised I haven’t done one earlier though, because in the realm of rock star daughters, Zoe here is clearly one of the hottest. So I’m predicting big things in her future — like a Twitter marriage proposal from a certain well-known blogger. I bet her dad will be so proud. » view all 15 photos Photos: PacificCoastNews

Play Your Part: Andre 3K Talks Role In Hendrix Biopic, Leaving Performing Behind, And New Album

Andre 3000 Speaks On Hendrix Biopic And What’s Next The New York Times caught up with the artsier half of Outkast for a sitdown about the state of his music career and his plans once the tour is over. On becoming his idol Jimi Hendrix in the new biopic: “I wanted André for the role, beyond the music, because of where he was psychologically — his curiosity about the world was a lot like Jimi,” said John Ridley, the film’s writer and director, who also wrote the screenplay for “12 Years a Slave.” Given that playing Hendrix had been discussed for so long, were you reluctant? I may have said it to John [Ridley]: “Man, I’m old. I have gray hair. Get some young unknown kid to play Hendrix.” I turned it down. They kept at it. I actually asked my son, [Seven]. He said, “Yeah, man.” Honestly, I needed it in my life, too. Hendrix kind of saved me. I was in a not-so-great space, just in a dark place every day. I needed something to focus on to get me out of my depression and rut. Sometimes, when you’re alone, you can let yourself go. I knew if I got on a train with a lot of different people, then I couldn’t let them down. On aging in Hip Hop: I’ve heard you say that you didn’t want to become an old rapper. I remember, at like 25, saying, “I don’t want to be a 40-year-old rapper.” I’m 39 now, and I’m still standing by that. I’m such a fan that I don’t want to infiltrate it with old blood. But over the last five years, you’ve recorded maybe three or four guest appearances a year, and those verses are always really strong. I struggle with the verses. I don’t sit around and write raps, I just don’t. Now the only time I’m really inspired to write raps is if an artist that I enjoy invites me to their party. So if Future calls and says, “Hey man, I want you to do this,” I don’t want to let Future down. I don’t want to let Lil Wayne or Drake down, because I love them. But when you show up to the party, do you believe that you have something to contribute? My son, he’s 16. Him and his buddies, they’ll be in the car, and I’ll say, “Hey, what do you think about this verse?” That’s my gauge at this point. I don’t have the pulse. Part of art is knowing when not to put paint on. And when to change your medium. Why the tour now, then? Honestly, I never planned to go onstage again in that way. If I feel like I’m getting to a place where it’s mimicking or a caricature, I just want to move on. But I felt like: Let me do it now ’cause these kids [in the audience], it feels good to know that they’re happy. I really don’t actually get anything from performing. On if we’ll EVER hear a new 3 stacks project: So no plans to put out an album, but we might get a gallery show? No, I’d love to put out an album. Sung or rapped? It’s hard to say. [Laughs.] I’m just going to call it honest. I know this may sound morbid, but I was like, if I were to die today, I have all these half-songs on my hard drive, and I don’t want that. But you don’t have a time window. When you feel it, it’s right. If you don’t feel it, then why? Honestly, think about it. Why do it? Why? We won’t hold our breath on that album release date…but super excited for the Hendrix film! Will you be watching?

A Lil Positivity: 11-Year-Old Dying Boy’s Final Wish To Feed The Homeless Raises $64k And 34,000 Pounds Of Food

An 11-year-old Louisiana boy who passed away from cancer this week made sure to fulfill his one final selfless wish before he died. 11-Year-Old Dying Boy’s Final Wish To Feed The Homeless Is Fulfilled Via HuffPo reports: After a five-year battle with rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare cancer that develops in the soft tissue, Trevor Sims of Baton Rouge died on Wednesday, according to WBRZ. But even as the young kid who loved video games and going to the beach faced a grave fate and severe pain, he spent his waning days helping others. Trevor’s goal before he died was to raise money and collect food for the Baton Rouge Food Bank to help the homeless and the hungry. So impressed with his altruistic spirit, the organization decided to dedicate a week-long charity event in his name. The generous kid said he was inspired to help others after his own mom struggled to put food on the table. “One time, when I was diagnosed, my mom didn’t have any money to get food and we were starving for two or three days in a row. She couldn’t get a job because she had to take care of me,” Trevor told ABC. “I don’t want nobody else to feel that way.” Altogether, the Trevor’s Wish City-Wide Food Drive raised more than 34,000 pounds of food and $64,000 in monetary donations, according to the organization. But it wasn’t just the homeless and the hungry that Trevor had on his mind. Before the charitable boy passed away, he sat down with WBRZ to share his thoughts on how to leave a meaningful mark in this world. “You can make a difference every day. Just by helping somebody who’s getting bullied or helping somebody cross the street or anything,” he told the news outlet. “All little things count.” In his short life, this young man taught others what ‘living’ and ‘giving’ means. Bless that fine little man for his big heart and love of fellow man. Continue reading
