Congratulations: Mbathio Beye Has Been Crowned The First “Miss Black France” Amidst A Bed Of Controversy

Black girls rock, in every country in the world! Mbathio Beye has been crowned the first Miss Black France France has a new queen–beauty queen that is. Mbathio Beye has been crowned the first “Miss Black France” But there was a lot of hoopla surrounding the pageant, so we’re surprised it even took place. According to the pageant’s organizer Frédéric Royer, the goal of the event was to “celebrate black beauty,” and “to shine a light on the many Black women in this country who are rarely given any media attention.” Yet the last time woman of color to took home the “Miss France” title was only three years ago in 2009 when Chloé Mortaud won—a biracial woman of African American and French descent. Protesters have called the “Miss Black France” pageant “stupid,” “dangerous” and “hostile.” Even the founder and president of the French Representative Council of Black Associations (CRAN), Patrick Lozes, said the pageant is hardly “progressive.” But despite these strong sentiments the pageant commenced and crowned it’s queen. Beye was officially named the first “Miss Black France” Saturday night in Paris, after being selected from a pool of 1,000 applicants and ultimately competing amongst 17 other finalists. Beye, 21, hails from Senegal and is a marketing student. Damn, where is the love??? You would think that an event celebrating Black beauty that there would a little more support from a group like CRAN. Source More On Bossip! Secret Loooovers! Moody Monster Flick? Lesbian Letdown? Puzzling Jack and Diane Debuts at Tribeca

Oh to be young and in love and periodically a flesh-rending creature of globular, hairy, throbbing pulp. That’s the curse heaped upon the eponymous romantics in Jack and Diane , one of the more anticipated — and more disappointing — features in Tribeca 2012’s narrative competition. It’s hard to be too down on such lean passion; Jack and Diane ‘s premiere Friday night amounted to the culmination of nine years of work by filmmaker Bradley Rust Gray, whose acclaimed 2010 drama The Exploding Girl served as sort of a hetero prelude to the lesbian body horror/romance mashup swamping his latest: Diane (Juno Temple) is a hot British teen mess visiting her aunt in New York City, all babydoll dresses, knit watermelon halter tops and purple knee socks, rocked by the hormonal lighting strike that is butch, brooding Jack (Riley Keough). The girls club, they kiss, they bond, they exchange vaguely sweet Manhattan banalities (“I have a Metrocard if you want it”), and then… I don’t even know. On the one hand it’s not worth spoiling; jumpy genre reveals are involved, hinted at by customarily grisly animation by the Brothers Quay. On the other hand, Jack and Diane is too much of a mess to spoil, suffocated in the dynamics of longing without even the hope of dramatic — or even darkly comedic — satisfaction. It’s a movie whose shadowy genre overtones — a girl! In a bathroom! With a bloody nose! And a monster! — surrenders to the same auteurist A.D.D. that sank The Exploding Girl . For once, I would like to see Gray’s New York not refracted surveillance-style through long lenses and the fraught nubile wits of characters whose doe eyes and costumes connote virtually the whole story. Temple’s expressive genius — all matted blond hair and mischievous (and monstrous) pixie — goes only so far against Keough’s near-total blankness, getting most of its mileage out of a single early, affecting confessional between the star-crossed girls. Ultimately, though, it’s hard to know just how seriously to take Jack and Diane , with all its sinewy portent and bizarre porn digressions and tragicomic pube-shaving and actual straight-faced dialogue such as, “Do you have to take a shit? Try to do like I do and fart it out.” Viewers familiar with The Exploding Girl might realize after a while that they’re only staying with Jack and Diane for the promise of more B-list hipster-goddesses losing control; then it was Zoe Kazan’s simmering epileptic panic, and now it’s the viscera-devouring prospect of sapphic passion — in one case featuring Elvis Presley’s grandaughter (Keough’s mother is Lisa Marie Presley) and Kylie Minogue in a heavily tattooed cameo. It is what it is, and it never feels like much more. Nevertheless, there is at least one glint of salvation in Jack and Diane , though it has nothing to do with its filmmaking or performances (and here I should issue a spoiler alert): Keough and Minogue make out to the strains of Shellac’s rare and entrancing hate-punk ballad ” Doris ,” which I suppose means that someone somewhere has a clean MP3 of the notoriously vinyl-only single. Tegan and Sara Bikini Pics of the Day

Tegan and Sara are a ganag of lesbians, the kind who plot influencing the world through song, cuz they are lesbians, to hate men and rip off their penises if ever they have a chance, cuz they are lesbians…. They were at one point living and based out Montreal, but now on eof them lives in LA, I’m gonna assume the fat one….. I live in Montreal, but since I don’t run in the lesbian singer songwriter scene and probably never will, cuz lesbians are about as accommodating to meat eaters who don’t recycle, who eat meat and who fuck women as the KKK is to Black Gay Jews….even though we’re all in it for the pussy….you’d think that common ground would be the basis of many high fives….and by high fives I mean trying my best to set up a threesome and break their commitment to lesbianism…. If I knew one of them had fat tits….on her dumpy body…I probably would have stalked her igloo a little harder…. THis has been my first and likely my last Tegan and Sara post….unless the sex tape drops….and I hope it does…even if I hate lesbian porn…it lacks a climax….but then again every girl I knows jerks off to Lesbian porn, so I guess I should find a little love for that….cuz girls with lesbian fantasies….are girls who give me threesome fantasies… They are twin sisters, possible lovers, cuz at that point their lesbianism is masturbation…until they add another girl in the mix, cuz let’s face it, even lesbians have twin fantasies…..That’s it. Mother of 9/11 Hero Addresses Carson Daly, Defends "Strong, Heroic Gay Men"

Carson Daly is still feeling the heat for comments he made yesterday morning on his radio show, and this time the source is the mother of a 9/11 hero. Following Daly’s on-air joke that implied gay people were too weak to subdue an airline pilot – in this case, the JetBlue captain, Clayton Osbon , who simply lost control of his senses aboard a flight earlier in the week – Alice Hoagland has penned a letter to the host of The Voice . Hoagland is the parent of Mark Bingham, one of the passengers on 9/11’s United Airlines Flight 93, who helped wrestle control from terrorists and crashed the plane in a Shanksville, Pennsylvania field, saving countless lives in the process. “Yes, my gay son was known in our family for bringing me flowers on my birthday and Mother’s Day,” Hoagland writes. “He also was known for careening down the rugby pitch, and, on the morning of September 11, 2001, for charging unarmed down the aisle of a doomed Boeing 757 to face knife-wielding Islamist thugs in a hijacked cockpit. “No one among his pick-up team of fellow passengers was asking ‘Are you straight? Are you gay?’ No one doubted that a guy who weighed 220 and stood 6’4” tall – who could run over a charging opponent on the field, and ran with the bulls in Pamplona earlier that summer – would be an asset to a desperate group trying to overcome a threat onboard an airliner. “The world has its share of strong, heroic gay men. Gay men in sports uniforms and military uniforms have been winning America’s games and fighting America’s battles for a long time: quietly, humbly, and in the face of vicious bigotry. “I hope you and I may have an opportunity to talk sometime. I prefer to believe you didn’t mean to offend. Good luck to you.” Daly has since spoken to GLAAD and followed his Tweeted apology with the following statement: We live in a time where gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender individuals find courage every day to overcome adversity, stand up to bullying and find equality. I’m truly saddened that my words today suggested otherwise. I’ve long been a supporter of Gay and Lesbian rights, and I’m saddened that my comments, however unintentional, offended anyone, specifically members of the LGBT community. The fact that I have hurt anyone is devastating. I’m not that guy. I’m proud to be an ally of the LGBT community and will continue to fight with them.

In White Folks News: Actress Gillian Anderson Admits To Having “Numerous” Romantic Relationships With Women

Remember Agent Scully from the ‘X-Files’??? Well she sat down recently and discussed her sexuality with Out Magazine: “I was in a relationship with a girl for a long time when I was in high school, and then I was in a relationship with a punk rock drug addict who…” Wait, a lesbian relationship? “Yeah, yeah, well it’s… You know, I’m old enough that I can talk about that,” she says, before resuming her list: “And then I was in a relationship with somebody who was way, way older than me. Everything that that kind of anarchistic attitude brings—the inappropriate behavior it leads to—was how I chose to be in the world at that time, which was, you know, not what people did.” Much of this has been written before — how she dyed her hair purple, how she glued the school gates shut on graduation night, the drugs and alcohol — but her lesbian romance is something new. Understandably, she is wary of making a big deal of it, precisely because it is a big deal for so many people. “If I had thought I was 100% gay, would it have been a different experience for me?” she wonders. “Would it have been a bigger deal if shame had been attached to it and all those things that become huge life-altering issues for youngsters in that situation? It’s possible that my attitude around it came, on some level, from knowing that I still liked boys.” Anderson says she has had relation-ships with other women, but they have been the exception, not the rule. She is, of course, aware of the lesbian fan base — in a 2007 episode of The Graham Norton Show, a popular U.K. talk show, the mischievous host invited her to read aloud from a lesbian foreign phrase book, to which she gamely responded, “Lick my cl*t,” only to realize that Norton intended her to deliver the phrase in German. But for many of those fans, it wasn’t Anderson they were responding to; it was Dana Scully, the FBI special agent she played in an oversized trench and sensible shoes on The X-Files. It’s clear that Anderson doesn’t want to make more of her admission than it warrants, but it goes to the heart of the instincts that animate her life. Wow. Who knew??? U2’s Edge And MTV Spotlight Homeless Youth In Documentary ‘The Break’

Program executive produced by U2 guitarist airs on MTV March 2 at 8 p.m. By MTV News Staff U2 guitarist the Edge has addressed many social issues through music. He tackles a new epidemic — the growing number of homeless youth — in the MTV documentary “The Break,” for which he serves as executive producer. “The Break” premieres Friday, March 2, at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Today, over 1.5 million youth in America have found themselves living in various states of homelessness stemming from all sorts of circumstances. “The Break” introduces viewers to three young people who refuse to give in to the despair and overwhelming weight that landing on the outskirts of society has placed upon them. The documentary delves deep into the journeys of these three young individuals as they take steps to rebuild their lives once they are provided with the tools and guidance necessary to emerge out of homelessness and rejoin society. First, viewers will meet Nancy, a 20-year-old woman who was involved in abusive relationships and has been homeless for two years. Nancy will need to regain her independence and change the behavior that has held her back throughout her life. Then viewers will be introduced to Rob, a talented drummer who came to New York with dreams of becoming a star. After a downward spiral, Rob will have to clean up his act in order to get a fresh start and rebuild his life. Lastly, Ava ran away from her conservative home after clashing with her family over her lesbian lifestyle. With the opportunity to receive training and experience, the academically gifted young woman will be inspired to pursue her dream of becoming a police detective. Providing the trio with support is Anne Mahlum, the founder and CEO of the nonprofit Back on My Feet. The organization uses running as a vehicle to promote the self-sufficiency of the homeless population, providing them with support and resources to help them get closer to their goals. Back on My Feet helps Ava, Nancy and Rob finally have access to the opportunities to create functional, healthy lifestyles. In addition to producing the program, the Edge also wrote the original song “No Home Like Place” for the documentary. Related Artists U2

Movie Nudity Report: Wanderlust

Our Skin Skout attended the press screening of Wanderlust last night, and as predicted Jennifer Aniston ‘s topless scene was nowhere to be found. And to add insult to non-nude injury, the lesbian foursome scene featured in the red-band trailer has been cut from the movie entirely. Malin Akerman doesn’t even get naked, and she’s Swedish for God’s sake! The movie isn’t entirely skin-free, though: anonymous flower children lose their tops for a nighttime skinny-dipping scene 21 minutes in, and again for a group meeting at the commune 1 hour, 24 minutes in. We also get some full-frontal from those uncredited hippie chicks when they chase a fellow commune-goer through the grounds, but honestly our hearts just aren’t in it anymore. Looks like Wanderlust is a Wander-bust. Catch up with the greatest tits- uh, hits – of Malin Akerman and Jennifer Aniston right here at MrSkin.com!
