According to TMZ reports : Joe Francis — the mastermind behind “Girls Gone Wild” — is sending Madonna a cease and desist letter, threatening that he’ll take legal action if she sings the song from her new album — titled “Girls Gone Wild” — at the Super Bowl. TMZ has obtained the letter that Francis has sent to Madonna and her “co-conspirators.” Francis’ lawyer threatens to sue all of them for attempting to get a “free ride on the valuable consumer goodwill and brand recognition” of Joe’s famous trademark. Francis’ lawyer makes it clear: “Your misappropriation of my clients’ trademark will not be tolerated.” But Francis is willing to cut a deal with Madonna, provided she agrees to the following terms: – Negotiate an immediate licensing agreement for the use of Joe’s trademark – Account for the number of times Madonna has already used the trademark – NOT PERFORM THE SONG AT THE SUPER BOWL Joe thinks NBC and the NFL are conspiring with Madonna, so the letter went to them as well. Joe’s lawyer is demanding a response by 5 PM PT today … or else.

Sesame Street and its production company the Sesame Workshop do make a lot of money from product licensing, but not nearly enough to cover expenses. According to the company’s most recent financial report, the Workshop earned about $45 million in merchandising during 2010, which accounted for one-third of its total revenue. The rest came mainly from distribution fees and royalties, and from an assortment of private donors, corporate sponsors, and government grants. 45 mili?? That’s it? But wait, there’s more… That may sound like more than enough to make a puppet-based television show, but according to the same report, the operating expenses for the Sesame Workshop totaled about $133 million, including $37 million for production and development of TV shows at home and abroad; $41 million for production and distribution of non-TV content including apps, home video, and live entertainment; and a hair under $7 million for “Muppet acquisition.” The rest of the money goes towards education, outreach and fundraising expenses. Only about $4 million comes from PBS annually, and in return PBS only gets back SOME of the cost. Everyone grew up watching Sesame Street, could you imagine it not being on for future generations? Another day, another Catholic Church scandal. An assistant bishop of the Roman Catholic archdiocese of Los Angeles has resigned because he has a secret family, including two teenage children. The Vatican said on Wednesday that Pope Benedict had accepted the resignation of Gabino Zavala, an auxiliary bishop of the diocese which has been plagued by sexual scandals. A brief Vatican announcement did not give the reason for Zavala’s resignation, saying only that the pope had accepted it under the norm in canon (Church law) that says a bishop who is ill or otherwise unfit to carry out his duties should resign. But Zavala’s direct superior, Los Angeles Archbishop Jose Gomez, has prepared a letter for the faithful in the archdiocese explaining the circumstances of the departure of Zavala, who was assistant bishop for the San Gabriel region of California. In the letter, a draft of which was obtained from a Catholic Church source in Rome, Gomez said Zavala, 60, had informed him in early December that he was the father of two teenage children who live with their mother in another state. The Catholic Church demands celibacy from its priests. “Bishop Zavala also told me that he submitted his resignation to the Holy Father in Rome, which was accepted. Since that time, he has not been in ministry and will be living privately,” Gomez says in the letter. “The Archdiocese has reached out to the mother and children to provide spiritual care as well as funding to assist the children with college costs. The family’s identity is not known to the public, and I wish to respect their right to privacy,” the letter says. Gomez asked for prayers “for all those impacted by this situation and for each other as we reflect on this letter.” Zavala’s resignation is the latest headache for the diocese, which paid a $660 million settlement in 2007 for cases of sexual abuse going as far back at the 1940. Zavala was also the latest Catholic Church official who was found to have had a secret family. The late leader of the Legionaries of Christ religious order, Father Marcial Maciel, who died in 2008 at the age of 87, lived a double life for decades that was not discovered until after his death. Maciel, a Mexican, was found to have abused seminarians. He was also discovered to have had a mistress with whom he had fathered several children. Hello everybody! My name is Anastasia, I’m 16 and I live in Belarus. You probably don’t know about this country but the main thing is that Justin knows about it. So here is my experience. It was July 2011. I was spending my summer at home. I was reading experiences from this site, so I felt like why can’t I write my own experience? The thing is that I had nothing to write about. I decided to write a letter to Justin. Immediately I found an address and wrote a letter to him. I wrote about how much he inspired me , how much I wanted to get his book, so I flew to London from Belarus just to get it, how my dad bought me JustBeats for my improvement in Germany, how my nice friend from the USA sent me the Someday fragrance. I wrote so much, 2 pages of how thankful I am. I sent the letter and I forgot about it after a week. Of course, at first I was thinking and hoping to get an answer. But then I just forgot. I can’t say I gave up because I didn’t. I just realized how many Beliebers are writing to Justin and it is almost no chance that my letter would be read. Almost 4 months passed and yesterday, 28 October something happened. An hour before I was busy tweeting. My mom and brother came home and my little brother was like, “You got a letter from Atlanta!” I was like only Justin lives in Atlanta, I mean I sent a letter to him a while ago. In a second, I opened the envelope and that was the moment when I burst into tears. I saw a photo of Justin which I included in the envelope along with my letter to him. This photos was signed. Signed by Justin Drew Bieber. I cried so hard. I was crying for more than an hour. I called my classmate and she was like, “Why are you crying? I know you, you are a great fan, you definitely deserve what you got!” But I was like, “I can’t. I just can’t believe this is happening to me. I’m dreaming.” And I went on crying. Then I called my dad who is currently in Germany and he didn’t find words to say. He was speechless. So now I’m writing this experience, my first one. I’m so thankful to Justin, to his crew and more importantly to Def Jam group for giving my letter to Justin. It proves that they care about the fans and want to make them happy too, that they understand BELIEBERS. Also it was the best day of my life, I can’t be more happier. I’m feeling the luckiest. The letter of apology was written over 30 years ago by Michael Jordan during his advanced chemistry class. MJ apologizes for making Laquette look “pretty Rotten” and how he is still getting use to dating a girl so much smaller than him. According to the sports auction house lelands, the letter sold for over $5,000. Lequette was in shock when she saw the letter on TV last week and wants Michael Jordan to know she would never betray him like that. She suspects the letter was stolen and sold by a family member. During MTV’s “RapFix Live,” the Brooklyn rapper detailed some of her experiences while serving time for a perjury conviction. “When I first got to prison, I slept so good for the first three weeks,” Kim told MTV News. “I was working that whole two months before, nonstop, trying to finish an album, doing promo, doing the TV show [BET’s ‘Lil’ Kim: Countdown to Lockdown’ ], doing shows, doing all types of things. So I never slept, never [rested] at all for two months straight. … When I got there, I kind of just collapsed.”
