Former WNBA Player Says She Her Teammates Bullied Her Out Of The League For Being Straight

WNBA Player Candice Wiggins Says She Was Bullied For Being Straight In an interview with the Sandiego Union Tribune , former NY Liberty player Candice Wiggins says that the “toxic” culture of the WNBA pushed her to give up her career early. “I wanted to play two more seasons of WNBA, but the experience didn’t lend itself to my mental state. […]I didn’t like the culture inside the WNBA, and without revealing too much, it was toxic for me. …My spirit was being broken.” She says not only was it a daily struggle playing in a sports league that still isn’t greatly respected or highly valued after nearly 20 years in existence…but that the culture of jealousy, bullying, and conformity among its players took a heavy toll on her and eventually caused her to toss up her hands and opt out. According to Candice, one major point of contention between her and her teammates was her sexuality. As a straight woman, she was quite a minority in the league, and she says her desire to embrace her femininity and proudly express her attraction to men got her bullied and ostracized by other players. “Me being heterosexual and straight, and being vocal in my identity as a straight woman was huge. I would say 98 percent of the women in the WNBA are gay women. It was a conformist type of place. There was a whole different set of rules they (the other players) could apply.” And as it tends to go amongst groups of “mean girls,” Candice say the fact that she was popular and pretty didn’t help matters much either. “There was a lot of jealousy and competition, and we’re all fighting for crumbs. The way I looked, the way I played – those things contributed to the tension. People were deliberately trying to hurt me all of the time. I had never been called the B-word so many times in my life than I was in my rookie season. I’d never been thrown to the ground so much. The message was: ‘We want you to know we don’t like you.’” Damn…who would have thought that kind of reverse discrimination was going on in the league? Sad to see something like that pushed one of the WNBA’s more promising players out. Instagram/Chris Poss

Kendall Jenner Morning Nipples of the Day

I’ve posted at least one of these images before, but like the Kardashians as a whole, they just keep on fucking multiplying, like the rodents, or snakes, or monsters they are….It’s like don’t get them wet or feed them after midnight, or they just multiply, and each one will be their unique brand of boring, lame, uninteresting, not very hot, dog shit that plays itself up to be fucking legendary, innovative, inspiring…I’d hate to be around these people, the egos, and the attitude from everyone feeding them fucking money and praise…and the whole “haters gonna hate so I don’t let it bring me down and make me kill myself”….while the only thing that will bring them down and make her or all of them kill themselves is when the world / America / everyone stops following them. Protests them. stops watching them. Stops paying them….and that will probably never happen, and these idiots know it, because they keep fueling the fire…they keep bringing out tits on different versions of their host Kim….and it’s fucking terrible…but so representative of the low level of expectations in content that America has…. Seriously… The worst… But she’s a model now, because society decided that, thanks to her deciding that, and that’s all that matters….because with models comes nipples, nipples I hope are forgotten eventually, so that they develop a drug addiction and sucide…. SELF DESTRUCT….but she won’t…her life is too good…assholes.. The post Kendall Jenner Morning Nipples of the Day appeared first on DrunkenStepfather .

Christina El Moussa Speaks on Divorce: Where Did It All Go Wrong?

Christina El Moussa went head-to-head with Tarek El Moussa this morning. Both halves of the estranged couple – who still hosts Flip or Flop on HGTV together, despite their December divorce filing – appeared on quasi news programs, speaking for the first time publicly about their split. Christina, for instance, appeared as a guest on Good Morning America, generally referring to the tabloid chatter that’s been surrounding the reality stars of late and saying: “There’s a lot of false stories and a lot of hype, but in the end we’re just normal, nice people who just want to be the best parents and coworkers that we can be.” Tarek and Christina are parents to an 18-month old named Brayden and a six-year old named Taylor. Speaking to The Today Show, Tarek reiterated the former couple’s commitment to their kids. “We have to make sure we remain friendly because we have to make sure they have good parents,” Tarek says in the following clip: Tarek El Moussa Explains Gun Incident: What Was He Thinking?!? Christina, meanwhile, is also featured on the cover of this week’s People Magazine. She goes into detail about her and Tarek’s break-up for the first time within this issue’s pages. “Like any couple, we had our share of issues,” Christina tells the publication . “But we went through a lot in a short amount of time.” She and Tarek separated in May following a scary incident that involved an argument, a gun and the police . The news of their separation went public a few months later, at which time they issued a joint statement that made it seem as if they were on solid terms. “Like many couples, we have had challenges in our marriage,” the pair said in December, adding: “We had an unfortunate misunderstanding about six months ago and the police were called to our house in an abundance of caution. There was no violence and no charges were filed.” Flip or Flop launched on HGTV in 2013. Not long afterward, Tarek learned he had thyroid cancer. As he went through radiation treatment, Christina also started a difficult struggle to get pregnant via in vitro fertilization and suffered a miscarriage in 2014. Little Brayden was then born, and Christina returned to work just four weeks later. “It was too soon for me,” she tells People. “I was overwhelmed. The tension between me and Tarek was high. “We weren’t able to properly communicate anymore. It got to the point where we weren’t even driving to set together.” By the time the El Moussas confirmed their split to the public, they had been living apart for six months. So the announcement felt like a “weight” had been lifted off Christina, she says. View Slideshow: Christina El Moussa Photos: Flip or Flop Hotness! What about talk that she’s now sleeping with Gary Anderson , the family’s ex-contractor? “Tarek and I don’t discuss each other’s personal lives,” she says. “It is what it is and we are going through a divorce and eventually we will be dating other people. I’m happy for him and whatever steps he takes in his life and I just hope he’s happy.” As for the most important people in all this? The stars’ two young children? Says Christina: “Our kids are amazing … Our kids are transitioning well. “Tarek and I are friends and we have a lot of support from our family. The kids are doing great.” For more from Christina on how she’s dealing with divorce in the spotlight, co-parenting and still working with her ex, Tarek, pick up this week’s issue of People. It will be available on newsstands Friday.

Frances Bean Cobain Remembers Father on His 50th Birthday

For many of those who are old enough to remember a time when music was purchased in brick and mortar stores and MTV played videos, it’s difficult to believe that it’s been nearly 23 years since Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain took his own life . Though only 27 at the time of his death, Cobain’s influence on the music world was so profound that one seldom hears a conversation about the cultural climate of the ’90s in which his name isn’t mentioned. Sadly, Cobain’s daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, has few memories of her father, as she was four months shy of her second birthday  when he died. There’s a tragic irony in the fact that the most potent living reminder of Cobain’s inimitable style, droll humor, and artistic temperament doesn’t remember the man herself, but Frances is clearly acutely aware of the ways in which she’s been influenced by her iconic father. Today would have been Cobain’s 50th birthday. The occasion has prompted outpourings of grief and nostalgia from family, friends, and fans, but perhaps no tribute is as moving as the one paid by Frances early this morning. The 24-year-old posted the following image of a handwritten note to her Instagram page: “Today would have been your 50th birthday. You are loved and you are missed,” the message reads. “Thank you for giving me the gift of life. Forever your daughter, Frances Bean Cobain.” In the past, Frances has spoken with surprising candor about her troubled father’s short life and death. “The world demanded it of him,” Frances said of her father’s suicide in an interview last year. “I think that was one of the main triggers as to why he felt he didn’t want to be here and everyone would be happier without him.” She added: “In reality, if he had lived,…I would have had a dad. And that would have been an incredible experience.”  Early in life, Frances faced challenges few young people encounter (she was estranged from her mother, Courtney Love), throughout much of her life, she seems to have developed into a surprisingly stable and grounded adult. She’s mended fences with Love, endured a high-profile divorce with dignity, and built a career for herself as a a visual artist. Nothing can make up for the absence of a parent in a child’s life, but we hope Frances finds some comfort in knowing how proud she would’ve made her father.

Brenda Buttner Dies; Fox News Host Was 55

Brenda Buttner, a senior business correspondent and the host of Bulls & Bears on Fox News, died of cancer on Monday. She was 55 years old. With a heavy heart, Fox News colleague Neil Cavuto passed along this sad news to viewers a couple hours ago, via an emotional tribute  to Buttner on his show. “Brenda was among the very first to put a kind female face to this once-staid old male batch of the business,” Cavuto said, adding: “She took stock of life more than stock in life.” A financial reporter, Buttner graduated from Harvard University in 1983 and spent two years as a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University, where she graduated with high honors in politics and economics. She kicked off her professional career at an NBC affiliate in Reno, Nevada, prior to hosting CNBC’s The Money Club and serving as a a contributor to that network from 1990 to 1998. The New Jersey resident joined Fox News in 2000 and served as a senior business correspondent there ever since. “In her sickest moments, battling an unrelenting cancer, there was Brenda, cheering you on,” Cavuto added on air. “Business journalism is never going to be the same. I just don’t know, now that she’s gone, whether we’ll ever be.” Others who knew Buttner well also paid tribute to her on social media. “She loved rainy days, cloudy places, motorcycles and her children most of all,” wrote ex-Fox News commentator Tobin Smith on Facebook. “I told her that I would spread a few of her ashes in her beloved Edinborough outside her favorite pub…she loved that idea. “She called me her ‘office husband’ and I told her that ‘all I got was crap from her and none the benefits’ and she would laugh a hearty obscenity in response… “My role in her life the last few years was to make her laugh…and I accomplished that goal on many phone calls. She was the type of friend you could not speak with with for months and then talk like we had just left off from yesterday. “My dear Brenda Buttner..she was the little sister I never had. I miss her terribly and yet she is in my heart forever and an inspiration to all that knew her and her battle.” Eric Bolling, another Fox News co-worker, Tweeted his condolences Monday afternoon after the news broke. “Our colleague and my friend Brenda Buttner passed today,” he wrote. “She fought cancer heroically. RIP Brenda. We will miss you.” And Greta Van Susteren wrote simply: “We will all miss Brenda.” The late reporter is survived by her two daughters. May Brenda Buttner rest in peace.

Holly Madison Sues Male Enhancement Company: WHAT?!

Holly Madison has lived quite the life, hasn’t she? She’s now a married mother of two and a bestselling author, but before that she spent her time at the Playboy Mansion as Hugh Hefner’s girlfriend. She had several questionable experiences at the mansion, which she’s detailed in her book and in interviews — and she’s gotten into a pretty heated feud with Kendra Wilkinson over the sharing of those experiences. Oh, and she’s also promoted some male enhancement pills. … Wait, that last part isn’t right? It never happened and that’s why Holly is currently in a legal battle with a company called Blackcore Edge? Huh. But it’s true — Holly recently filed a lawsuit against Blackcore Edge, a company that produces a natural testosterone supplement that’s supposed to help with erectile dysfunction. Her issue, she claims in the documents, is that there’s an article she saw online that states she did an interview with Dr. Oz, and in the interview, she said that when she was with Hugh, he’d take Blackcore Edge to get the old motor running. She allegedly said that “When Hefner took a pill, 15 minutes later his blood would start pumping! He got stronger, bigger, and lasted as long as an 18 year old.” Because that sounds like something Holly would say, right? Holly, who has said that she was “miserable” during her time with Hugh , that he would “talk down to his girlfriends and make them cry,” and that when it came to sex, “Everyone wanted to get that kind of thing over with very quickly.” She’s bragging in detail about Hef’s penis. Right. But it turns out that that’s the issue — it doesn’t sound like something Holly would ever say because she never said it. In her court documents, Holly says that she never said anything about this drug, and that she never even did an interview with Dr. Oz. She also says that Blackcore Edge made the article look like it was from Men’s Health, but really it was just some shady knock-off site. So because of all that, Holly is suing Blackcore Edge — which, while obviously not a great company, just has the greatest name, right? — for using her name and image without her consent. And, you know, for that entire fake interview. So Holly not only had to deal with being Hugh Hefner’s girlfriend in the first place, now she has to deal with people claiming she’s made remarks about his junk, all these years later. Poor, poor Holly.

Nick Cannon: Is He Going Totally Insane?

As previously detailed, Nick Cannon recently walked away from his main job. The entertainer quit as America’s Got Talent host because he was angry at producers for the way they reacted to a joke in his stand-up special this month. On stage, Cannon quipped that this gig was great and all… but it did make him worried that someone might take away his “black card” due to the cheesy nature of the NBC reality show. According to Cannon, executives actually thought about firing him for the remark, which led him to resign his post instead. In a lengthy Instagram message explaining his decision, Cannon wrote the following: “I find myself in a dark place having to make a decision that I wish I didn’t have to, but as a man, an artist, and a voice for my community I will not be silenced, controlled or treated like a piece of property.” He went on to castigate “The System,” adding: “There is no amount of money worth my dignity or my integrity.” Sounds pretty admirable, right? The guy left a very well-paying job in order to stand up for his honor. And yet some folks close to Cannon are concerned that the star isn’t strong-willed, he’s just falling off his mental rocker. Shortly after quitting America’s Got Talent, Cannon fired his longtime advisers, including ID-PR publicist Alla Plotkin and ICM Partners agent Chris Smith. Moreover, sources tell The New York Post that Cannon has recently “got really into religion,” donning robes and a turban and sometimes referring to himself as “Rev. Dr. Cannon.” It’s not unusual to find religion later in life, but this Page Six report says Cannon “isn’t attached to a specific religion so much as a general spirituality.” Which still doesn’t seem like a reason to think someone is going insane. However, Cannon – who recently spent several weeks in a hospital for complications related to lupus — spent last weekend posting on social media about depression and pain. To wit: That’s a whole different story. With an influx of memes such as the one above scattered throughout his Instagram page, we can understand why some folks are worried. Cannon’s manager has not responded to The New York Post after it tried to get in contact with him. But Cannon himself seems to be aware of this chatter. He shared the following quote by John Lennon on his social page this week: I think our society is run by insane people for insane objectives. I think we’re being run by maniacs for maniacal ends. I think they’re all insane. But I am liable to be put away as insane for expressing that. That’s what is insane about it. Don’t you agree? We guess? We guess we agree? Or maybe we agree with friends who think he is kind of nuts now? What do you think?

Johnny Depp & Daisy Ridley: Dating?!

You may not have noticed – what with the foundations of American democracy crumbling at your feet, and all – but it’s been an interesting few weeks in the life of Johnny Depp. (Hey, someone still has to deliver the celebrity gossip! You want all Trump, all the time, you can go to … just about every other website on the Internet that doesn’t have “porn” in the title.) Sources claim Johnny is broke thanks to decades of living a lifestyle so extravagant that he stopped just short of filling a swimming pool with gold coins, a la Scrooge McDuck. Just to give you an idea of what we’re talking about – the man spent $30,000 a month on wine. That’s not a joke. Anyway, despite the bad press surrounding his finances, and the continued negative attention paid to his messy divorce from Amber Heard , Depp is still one of the biggest movie stars on the planet. (We’re speaking in terms of recognizability here, not bankability.) So short of actually morphing into Steve Bannon, there’s very little that Depp could do that would make him unattractive to all women. However, his days of attracting young female celebrities may have come to end. Star magazine is claiming today that Depp is doing his damnedest to bang Star Wars star Daisy Ridley, but Rey is just not having it. The two actors are currently shooting a remake of Murder on the Orient Express, and Depp has apparently made no secret of his desire to get all up in Ridley’s Jedi robes. Unfortunately, a combination of factors (including Heard’s domestic abuse claims and the fact that Depp seems to be rapidly decomposing) are turning Ridley off. “Daisy’s in a tough spot,” an insider tells the tabloid. “She clearly thinks the world of Johnny as an actor, but simply isn’t interested in pursuing a romance with him.” Depp’s been a heartthrob for most of his career, so he’s not accustomed to getting the cold shoulder, and not surprisingly, he’s not taking it well: “He isn’t accustomed to being turned down, especially by a younger actress,” the source says. “Johnny’s convinced that if he cleans up his act, Daisy might change her mind.” He may be right about that, but … he’d have to clean up his act. Better to just stay the course and sleep with desperate up-and-comers. Living into your 60s is overrated, anyway.
