Dr. Dre Apologizes For Past Domestic Abuse With the great success of ‘Straight Outta Compton’ has also come great criticism of the biopic for omitting key details of the group’s history…particularly Dr. Dre’s notorious pension for slapping up the women in his life . After all the backlash and call-outs the mogul has faced, he is finally addressing his violent past with women that got omitted from the film. Via New York Times : Critics charge that the movie, which was co-produced by Dr. Dre, glosses over N.W.A.’s record of misogyny and ignores Dr. Dre’s history of physically abusing women. In a sign that the uproar was threatening not only his reputation but also his business dealings, Dr. Dre, who has previously spoken dismissively or vaguely about the decades-old episodes, confronted them on Friday in a statement to The New York Times. While he did not address each allegation individually, he said: “Twenty-five years ago I was a young man drinking too much and in over my head with no real structure in my life. However, none of this is an excuse for what I did. I’ve been married for 19 years and every day I’m working to be a better man for my family, seeking guidance along the way. I’m doing everything I can so I never resemble that man again.” He added: “I apologize to the women I’ve hurt. I deeply regret what I did and know that it has forever impacted all of our lives.” Apple, where Dr. Dre, 50, now works as a top consultant, also issued a statement: “Dre has apologized for the mistakes he’s made in the past and he’s said that he’s not the same person that he was 25 years ago. We believe his sincerity and after working with him for a year and a half, we have every reason to believe that he has changed.” This is the latest case of a celebrity who, partly because of the Internet, has been forced to face old abuse allegations. Former NFL cheerleader Molly Shattuck must spend 48 weekends in a work-release program as part of her sentence for raping a 15-year-old boy. She will serve out that time in a work-release detention center in Delaware; Shattuck, 48, was sentenced today for committing the sexual offense. Shattuck apologized after pleading guilty in June to one count of fourth-degree rape, an offense that could have carried a maximum of 15 years. “I was the adult, and I’m sorry,” Shattuck said through years. “I never should have had the conversation with someone else’s son and I’m sorry.” “I will spend the rest of my life making this right.” Shattuck was arrested back in November 2014 on charges of third-degree rape, unlawful sexual contact and giving alcohol to minors. A plea deal later reduced the charge to a less serious offense. Police said she performed oral sex on the boy, last Labor Day weekend. Shattuck, according to court records, had connected with the boy through her teenage son , the same age as him, and via social media. Over the summer, police said in affidavits, Shattuck and the boy exchanged sexualized texts and emails, and met in parked cars. The mother and father of the victim asked Superior Court Judge E. Scott Bradley to sentence Shattuck to more than just probation. Bradley sentenced Shattuck to two years of level 3 probation, however, meaning 48 weeks of work-release and $10,650 in restitution. Shattuck must register in Delaware as a Tier II sex offender, and not contact anyone younger than 18 other than her own children. “The competing interests in this case are very difficult to weigh,” Bradley said, explaining his decision to hand down that punishment.

It will be such a steep and practically impossible climb to come back from this.” The insider adds that the family is living in complete isolation at their compound in Arkansas, afraid to even go outside for fear of being photographed by lurking paparazzi. And of course, things are rather awkward at Casa de Duggar these days, as the family is reportedly stunned by Josh’s behavior: “It’s like he’s a completely different person from who they thought he was,” says the source. “They’re still trying to reconcile all that they know is good about Josh, whom they will always love and adore, with what they’ve learned now.” Despite all of this, insiders say Anna Duggar will not even consider divorcing Josh . According to Daily Mail reports : Ballerina Misty Copeland has revealed that she is engaged to her longtime boyfriend Olu Evans – and she is already busy planning what her wedding gown will look like. The 32-year-old dancer, who made history earlier this year when she became the first African-American female principal dancer for the American Ballet Theatre (ABT), stars on the September 2015 cover of Essence , and confirmed the happy news in the pages of the magazine, admitting: ‘I can’t believe my life right now.’ Earlier this week, the brunette beauty told Vanity Fair that her bridal attire will not mimic the whimsical tulle creations she wears on stage as at ABT performances. ‘I’d like to show my figure, somewhat – romantic and elegant,’ she said of her dream gown. ‘I don’t think I want to go super poofy or anything like that.’ She explained: ‘It’s very different for a performer, a ballerina, someone who is onstage a lot and wears big costumes. ‘So it’s not like this is my chance to be that way, because that’s something I do every day, almost. Speaking at the The Starfish Foundation’s PowHERful Summit in July, Misty revealed that although she dated other guys, Olu was first real boyfriend. ‘It took me finding a person that respected me, that allowed me to still fulfill what I wanted to in my career,’ she said. ‘That was most important to me. ‘I always said “no man is coming in and taking me away from ballet.” And that was so important to me that the person I ended up with was going to support me in every way, because my career is so important to me. ‘And I knew immediately when he wasn’t afraid of hearing or seeing me so damaged – and that he wanted to help because he cared about me as a person,’ she added of Olu.
