A Philadelphia high school’s soccer coaches have quit after an investigation found players taunted a rival player with chants of ‘Ebola!’ and racial slurs.
On TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting Season 14 Episode 12 Tuesday night, Duggar family fans saw the countdown to Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard’s wedding in full swing. We know how THAT turned out, if you know what we’re saying! NOTE: We’re saying they got married and she’s pregnant. Just because we all know the happy ending doesn’t make 19 Kids and Counting Season 14 Episode 12 any less fun to watch, of course, as we go behind the scenes. With the wedding right around the corner, Jill’s parents Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar are hosting weekly counseling sessions with the soon to be newlyweds. Not that they need them. These kids have good heads on their shoulders and are clearly all in when it comes to the Duggar family dating rules and such. Meanwhile, Jill’s siblings, from the lovely Jana Duggar all the way down to the littlest ones, are starting to realize that she’s leaving the nest, and it’s bittersweet. In this week’s counseling session, the pair talks finances, and Derick – a hard worker who knows how to save, and be frugal – is cut from the same cloth. Next up is making sure their temporary home – the fixer upper Jim Bob bought not too long ago – is furnished before they move in after their wedding. Naturally, that means used furniture and electronics. The auction turns out to be a blast, and by the time it’s over Jill and Derick have almost everything they need for their first home together. So sweet! One thing we can all be jealous of when we watch 19 Kids and Counting online is home renovations and moving. They have the skills AND the manpower! Jill recalled when Derick stopped by while caroling with a church group, and not long after, “Derick contacted my dad and asked if he would be a prayer partner during his two-year term in Nepal.” With all of Jill’s siblings pitching in, and Ben Seewald to boot, there’s nothing they can’t tackle, giving new meaning to the term strength in numbers. Perhaps the coolest part is that even when they’re not naturally inclined to do a job, as we saw when they redid the carpeting, they’re willing to learn. Meanwhile the Duggar extended family starts to arrive for the festivities, including Jill’s brother, the first of the 19 kids Josh Duggar, and his wife Anna. They have three kids of their own, born around the same time as some of Josh’s siblings, making their aunts and uncles nearly the same age as them. Crazy! Josh also helps Jill and Derick secure a slick black truck for their wedding “getaway” vehicle, borrowing it from a friend for the special day. What a guy. Meanwhile, Anna joined the Duggar sisters at Jill’s new home for a decorating party, and even though they have a blast, they are sad to let Jill go as well. Jill is also feeling a bit nostalgic during one of her last outings with her sisters – to get their nails done – even as she can’t wait to marry the love of her life. Dates Without Chaperones The Duggar parents often accompany their children on dates in order to maintain their “accountability” and “keep things from going in the wrong direction,” per Jim Bob. The girls are fine with this, as being alone with men puts them in grave “moral danger.” When the parents aren’t available, their older siblings will often tag along, making every date a group date and a family affair. Jill and Derick’s wedding special will air October 28, just two weeks from now. We have a feeling the episode will be as magical as you expect and more.
It’s gettin’ real. Earlier today we reported that Iggy Azalea is pissed at Snoop Dogg as the result of a weird Instagram diss that Snoop is now refusing to delete from his personal page. The post shows what appears to be an albino woman with cornrows, along with a caption reading “Iggy Azalea no make up.” Iggy responded to Snoop online, tweeting, “I’m disappointed you would be such an ass for no reason.” She later accused the legendary West Coast rapper of hypocrisy, claiming that he sends his bodyguards to ask for photo ops any time she and Snoop perform together. But it was a different accusation that Snoop’s crew caught wind of today that’s really caused the the feud to get ugly. Iggy has allegedly claimed that one of her bodyguards once saved the life of Snoop’s friend during a hotel fire in Canada. Veteran Dogg Pound member Daz Dillinger claims that he was the one who saved the man’s life, and he’s now going off on Iggy to anyone who will listen. Dillinger told TMZ today that Snoop doesn’t “give a f-ck about Iggy because she’s nowhere near his level.” Daz also threatened to bring another female hip hop artist into the beef, saying: “B-tch needs to stay in her place before we get Nicki Minaj, the real rapper on her ass!” Nicki and Iggy feuded for several months but seemed to squash things at the VMAs back in August. This is shaping up to be a one-sided war, as Iggy has deleted all of her beef tweets and claims she’s “not mad at anyone.” Even so, we’d be careful if we were Daz Dillinger. Monday, on VH1’s Love & Hip Hop Hollywood Season 1 Episode 5, the truth finally came out for some of the key players in the game. Emphasis on players. Appropriately titled “Truth Be Told,” Love & Hip Hop Hollywood Season 1 Episode 5 saw Mally Mall promises Nikki that he and Masika are done. Done. Are they, though? Can anyone really trust this upstanding man? Apparently not. Nikki says both of them need to meet with Masika so he can tell her to her face that he’s Nikki’s and that it’s over. This is going to be fun. Teairra Mari, meanwhile, is teaming up with Yung Berg on a new collaboration that is surely not going to go over well with Hazel, not that he cares apparently. Masika and Hazel get together and talk about how much Teairra sucks, and vow to ignore their men and play hard to get, ’cause who needs ’em. Sure. Teairra tells Nikki she’s working with Berg, which Nikki says she supports if it’s not messy. Teairra’s issues with Morgan may be a different story, though. Omarion and Apryl meet with a midwife to talk about the childbirth, which they want to be natural and at the house … but there’s the small issue of his mom. Specifically, she’s very negative, stressful and painful. If you watch Love & Hip Hop Hollywood online , you know that this has been a recurring source of stress for the couple, and it’s not going away anytime soon. Nikki shows up at Ray J’s video shoot, ready to confront Morgan and things get heated quickly, with the Kim Kardashian sex tape maker forced to intervene. Between these two, Ray J and Princess Love , there is more animosity involving one quasi-celebrity than we ever thought we would see, even on VH1. That’s saying something, when you think about it. Morgan is upset about Ray not sticking up for her, and how as a foster child no one has been in her life consistently, which is why she values him so. Teairra Mari Teairra Mari is a cast member on VH1’s Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood. She has been with Ray J off and on for years. “I find Apryl selfish and materialistic,” she says, bluntly. Ouch. Apryl may be able to fool Omarion, but not her, she adds, and but he tells her she will not be at the birth and that she needs to apologize to Apryl. At least for now, Omarion scores a rare victory over his mother, although you know she’s going to be casting a wide shadow over him, Apryl and that baby. Morgan tells Ray how she doesn’t feel appreciated for everything she does, while he replies that yes, he loves her like family, but she needs to do her job. That would be the job of his assistant, like it or not. “Just stay on point,” Ray J tells his employee. Mally Mall, meanwhile, has called Masika over to lay down the law. Or something. “You know who my girl is. You know who I’m with. You know what it is,” Mally says. Masika denies knowing what it is, like at all. “All I’m saying is don’t lie,” Masika says to her shady man. “There should never be a time when another woman tells you something you should have told me.” After Nikki arrives, Masika says she doesn’t really give a f–k about them but is pretty darn pissed about the lies and “game” that led to this in the first place. Nikki, for her part, is not a big fan of the fact that Masika claims to have slept with Mally Mall, which he denies and which Masika insists really did occur. “You’ve proven that you’re a liar. Wow…the NURSE got the treatment the original patient couldn’t? Texas Nurse Treated For Ebola This will certainly re-spark some rumors of unfair treatment by the Dallas Hospital at which Thomas Eric Duncan was treated. One nurse who helped care for him and actually contracted the disease was able to get a treatment that may save her life — which wasn’t a viable cure for Duncan. Via MailOnline : The Texan nurse diagnosed with Ebola has received a blood transfusion from survivor Dr Kent Brantly, reports claim. It is the third time Dr Brantly has donated blood to Ebola victims after medics discovered he had the same blood type as previous patient Dr Nick Sacra and NBC cameraman Ashoka Mukpo, who is still being treated. Incredibly, nurse Nina Pham, 26, has also matched with Brantly and today received a transfusion of his blood in a move that doctors believe could save her life. Pham has been in quarantine since Friday after catching the disease from ‘patient zero’ Thomas Eric Duncan – the man who brought the deadly virus to America. Brantly is believed to have traveled to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, where Pham worked, to make the donation on Sunday night. Today, Pham’s condition was described as ‘clinically stable’. Those who have survived Ebola have antibodies in their blood which can help new sufferers beat the disease. Dr Kent Brantly was flown back from Liberia to the U.S. after contracting Ebola during his missionary work for Samaritan’s Purse. He survived after receiving a dose of the experimental serum Z-Mapp and round-the-clock care at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. On September 10, Dr Brantly donated blood to a fellow doctor, Dr Rick Sacra, who also contracted Ebola during his work in West Africa and survived the disease. Last Tuesday, he was on a road trip from Indiana to Texas when he received a call from Ashoka Mukpo’s medical center in Nebraska telling him his blood type matched Mukpo’s. He also offered his blood to Thomas Eric Duncan but their blood types didn’t match. Within minutes, he stopped off at the Community Blood Center in Kansas City, Missouri, and his donation was flown to Omaha. Pham was diagnosed after admitting herself to hospital on Friday when her temperature spiked – one of the first symptoms of the deadly virus. It’s wonderful that she was able to be treated…but if this kind of revolutionary care can’t treat everyone, what other solutions are on board to cure the virus? Facebook
