Andy Cohen is already getting backlash for his parenting skills. Which he has had approximately two weeks to perfect. According to opinionated trolls on social media, that is more than enough time. The 50-year-old Watch What Happens Live host welcomed his first son , Benjamin Allen Cohen, via surrogate on February 4. And on Friday, what started as a funny Instagram story quickly turned South. Cohen shared a comical video of his dog, Wacha, destroying the baby’s new stuffed Torah, a gift from a Rabbi. “Did you just eat my son’s stuffed Torah that the Rabbi gave him Wacha? And now you’re exhausted? That was my son’s Torah. Did you want to explain to my son what you did?… And what do I tell the Rabbi? Wacha? Wacha!” Cohen jokingly teased his pet. Immediately the first-time father was flooded with DMs about his “big problem” on his hands with “jealous” Wacha. The parent shamers scolded the host for the way he handled the situation. And some even suggested that he shouldn’t have the pooch at all. Dad shaming is bad enough, but dog shaming is NOT acceptable. The ridiculous messages provoked Cohen to explain to the haters that he did not, in fact, have a big problem on his hands. He made it clear that Wacha is not jealous, as well as that he has two loves in his life now. “Wacha didn’t know that the Torah toy, we’re talking about a Torah toy, belonged to the baby. He just had his eye on a purple toy, and he wanted to rip it apart. It’s not that deep. Stand Down. Everything’s fine in the West Village,” one message read. In another video, he tells Wacha, who licks him, “Hey, I’ve been a dad for 12 days. People are judgy as f–k. We gotta be careful, ok?” And “sometimes a Torah toy is just a Torah toy, everybody!” he added. Mackenzie Edwards is really trying, you guys. She’s trying to act all happy and normal and content with her life, even though one rather important person being missing from it. We speak, of course, about husband Ryan Edwards. Who is in prison. The former Teen Mom star has been behind bars for several weeks now, ever since his latest arrest for drug possession. He’ll be stuck behind bars until at least April , but all indications point to Mackenzie remaining by Ryan’s side despite his numerous run-ins with the law. Various insiders have said she won’t file for divorce or leave him — and now Mackenzie herself has basically confirmed this chatter. In honor of the holiday that falls on February 14 each year, the abandoned new mother shared the following photo on her Instagram story yesterday: “Happy Valentine’s Day,” Mackenzie wrote as a caption to the image, which features a bouquet of flowers, along with a photo of her and Ryan and Ryan and his son, Bentley, alongside the pink roses. It’s actually a really sad image. Poor Mackenzie was all alone on Valentine’s Day because her husband has a major drug problem. That’s pretty depressing. Edwards spent 90 days in rehab after he got arrested in the summer of 2018. He missed the birth of his son with Mackenzie as a result, but returned home around Thanksgiving, presumably a new and improved man. The photo shared at the top of this article was snapped in December, prior to Ryan’s latest arrest, when it seemed as if he’d be a dedicated husband to Mackenzie and father to his two kids. Alas, it didn’t take long for multiple rumors to make their way around the Internet. He allegedly signed up for Tinder within weeks of geting out of rehab, and allegedly asked a woman he met on that dating service for cocaine . Then, in January, Edwards was arrested for heroin possession and for theft after he left a restaurant without paying his tab. By our estimation, this marked the third time Edwards was arrested on a drug-related charge. He’s going to serve time in county jail until then.” Mackenzie, however, isn’t prepared to ditch her law-breaking, drug-addicted husband. “This is devastating for Mackenzie, to have Ryan locked up again and away form her and the kids is almost too much to handle,” a source previously told Hollywood Life, expounding: “You have to understand how hard this all is on her though. Believe me, a part of her wants to just lay down in bed and stay there.” But she did partially know what she was signing up for when she started to date Ryan and she does have children to worry about and, look, the heart wants what the heart wants. “She has no plans to leave Ryan,” this same insider insists. “She is standing by him and believes that they will overcome this together” because “she has young children to remain strong for and that is what is keeping her going.” Fair enough. The sad saga of Artie Lange finally saw some good news today. After spending the past two weeks in jail, the troubled comic was released today. Unfortunately, Lange still has a great number of legal hurdles ahead of him. Worse, he continues to grapple with a number of substance abuse issues that loved ones fear may claim his life. Lange was arrested last month after failing a court-ordered drug test. He had been released from a mandatory treatment program just weeks earlier. Lange had previously been sentenced to rehab following an arrest for cocaine and heroin possession in 2017. Following rehab, fans were encouraged by Lange’s abrupt return to comedy, as well as by a series of tweets in which the 51-year-old spoke with optimism about his sobriety and his future. “Guys I will tweet about this once. Today in court they drug tested me,” a hopeful Lange wrote on December 14. “For the last decade or more they’d have found both Heroin and Cocaine. With the help of in my eyes a miracle legal medication called Suboxen I tested negative for Heroin. I haven’t used Heroin in 41 days…” Shortly thereafter, however, an anonymous friend of the comedian’s revealed to Radar Online that Lange had fallen off the wagon and feared it was only a matter of time before he was found out. “He knows he won’t survive drug court, so he’s going to party as much as much as he can until he gets thrown in jail or a year-long rehab,” said the insider. “Even his sponsors from The Retreat [Lange’s most recent rehab center] know that he’s partying even though he’s denying it.” Lange denied those claims but seemed to contradict his own statement by stating that he knew where “the leak” was coming from and revealing that he felt his confidence had been betrayed. Immediately after his release from jail today, Lange was sent to an undisclosed rehab center for treatment. He still faces jail time for violating his probation, but his next court date has yet to be determined. “A hearing will not be set until Mr. Lange is close to completing the drug treatment program,” a court official told Radar Thursday afternoon. It’s a strange time in the life of Paris Jackson. Paris checked into rehab last month, possibly in anticipation of the pressure she would feel in response to a scathing new documentary about her father that had yet to be released at that time. Leaving Neverland made its debut at the Sundance Film Festival in January. The Jackson family has described the film as a ” public lynching ,” arguing that it serves no purpose other than denigrating a man who’s no longer alive to defend himself. Proponents of the film say it gives Jackson’s many victims a long overdue opportunity to tell their story. Most of the public has yet to see the piece for themselves (It makes its TV debut on HBO in March.), so it’s hard to make a determination as to whether it’s an opportunistic hit piece or essential of journalism that sheds new light on an old scandal. Whatever the case, it’s not hard to see how the release of the documentary could take a profound emotional toll on Paris, who has maintained throughout her life that her father is an innocent victim of a malicious slander campaign. Those closest to the aspiring model say that Paris is breaking down over the new allegations against her father and has thus far refused to watch Leaving Neverland. Fortunately, there’s a silver lining to Paris’ current struggles. It seems that she wrongly believed she could safely delve back into drinking and recreational drug use after a previous bout with addiction, and her latest rehab stint convinced her otherwise. “Paris has actually gotten clean for the time being,” a source close to the situation tells Radar Online. The insider adds that Paris’ new boyfriend, Gabriel Glenn , has been instrumental in her recovery. “Paris is coming up on 30 days off other substances,” the source added. “She’s is getting a ton of support from Gabriel.” Hopefully, Paris can maintain her commitment to the hard work of sobriety even in the face of new information about her father’s controversial private life. Shocking news out of the music world today, as celebrated singer/songwriter Ryan Adams has been accused of sexual misconduct by several female artists, including his ex-wife, Mandy Moore. In a scathing report published today by the New York Times , Moore and six other women detailed sexual and psychological abuse they allegedly endured at Adams’ hands. Moore — who was married to Adams for six years before filing for divorce in 2015 — says that Adams took advantage of her career aspirations and her youth (she was 23 when they met; Adams was 10 years her senior) in order to manipulate her and engage in years of “psychologically abusive” behavior. “His controlling behavior essentially did block my ability to make new connections in the industry during a very pivotal and potentially lucrative time — my entire mid-to-late 20s,” Moore told the Times . “What you experience with him — the treatment, the destructive, manic sort of back and forth behavior — feels so exclusive,” she added. “You feel like there’s no way other people have been treated like this.” “Music was a point of control for him,” Moore said. Singer Phoebe Bridgers recounted a similar situation, in which — as with Moore — Adams plied her with the promise of career opportunities before making his sexual intentions clear. Bridgers says that despite some concerns about his behavior, she accepted an opportunity to open for Adams on tour, but quickly regretted it. “The first day, he asked me to bring him something in his hotel room,” she told the Times. “I came upstairs and he was completely nude.” But perhaps the most shocking account comes from an aspiring musician identified only as Ava, who says Adams began sending her nude photos and other sexually explicit material when she was just 14 years old. “If people knew they would say I was like R Kelley [sic] lol,” Adams messaged her at one point. Through a statement from his attorney, Adams denies any wrongdoing: “Mr. Adams unequivocally denies that he ever engaged in inappropriate online sexual communications with someone he knew was underage,” Adams’ lawyer told the Times , adding, “if, in fact, this woman was underage, Mr. Adams was unaware.” On Twitter, Adams’ tone quickly shifted from combative to apologetic. Before the story broke, he posted a photo of the Times logo with a caption reading: “Fuck you. You are kitty litter. Happy Valentine’s Day.” He also replied to one tweet before the story’s publication: “Run your smear piece. But the leagel [sic] eagles see you. Rats. I’m fucking taking you down.” After the story broke, Adams expressed remorse, while at the same time, denying most of the allegations against him. “I am not a perfect man and I have made many mistakes,” he tweeted. “To anyone I have ever hurt, however unintentionally, I apologize deeply and unreservedly. “But the picture that this article paints is upsettingly inaccurate. Some of its details are misrepresented; some are exaggerated; some are outright false,” he added. “I would never have inappropriate interactions with someone I thought was underage. Period. “As someone who has always tried to spread joy through my music and my life, hearing that some people believe I caused them pain saddens me greatly,” he added. “I am resolved to work to be the best man I can be. In 2017, a teen girl was accused of pressuring her boyfriend to commit suicide … and he went through with it. She stood trial for his death in the controversial case, and was sentenced to prison. Now, Michelle Carter is finally heading to prison. On Monday, a Massachusetts judge ordered Michelle Carter to report to prison. She is to begin serving out her sentence, which was handed down to her about a year and a half ago. Bristol County Juvenile Court Judge Lawrence Moniz sentenced Michelle Carter to a minimum of 15 months in prison. She was, however, permitted to remain free while she appealed her conviction. But now the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court has upheld that conviction. The finding of the court was that the evidence in the case demonstrated that she was culpable for the death of Conrad Roy III. Michelle was 17 when her then-boyfriend, Conrad, took his own life in 2014. The case was framed around a series of text messages that she had sent to him. Prosecutors argued that her text messages were clearly encouraging him to commit suicide. At times, it even seemed that Michelle was more enthusiastic about his suicide than he was, pushing him to work past his reluctance. Clearly, the jury and now a series of judges have all agreed. Conrad died from inhaling carbon monoxide fumes from his truck. Michelle was then accused of having listened over the phone as he died, and of then not notifying his parents or police. The issue, however, was whether or not she pushed a vulnerable man who was already battling with suicidal ideation to take his own life. (At times, she even chastised him over his apparent indecision, and downplayed how sad others would be with him gone) Michelle’s attorneys argued that, as vile as her words to him were, they constitute protected speech under the First Amendment. Attorney Daniel Marx lamented the court’s ruling. “Today’s decision stretches the law to assign blame for a tragedy that was not a crime,” Marx says. “It has very troubling implications, for free speech, due process, and the exercise of prosecutorial discretion, that should concern us all,” he states. Of course, the Supreme Court has long upheld that there are certain, reasonable restrictions to Free Speech. Conspiracy to commit a crime is not protected speech. Inciting a person or group to commit an act of violence is not protected speech. While people can make their (logically flawed) slippery slope arguments, a teenage boy lost his life. And, given that he was already experiencing suicidal ideation, he was particularly vulnerable to this exact type of influence. Some people may view suicide as a personal choice, rather than as a terminal symptom of mental illness. Suicide is not the same thing as medically assisted euthanasia for people who are already dying. Those of us who are not at risk for suicide can view “kill yourself” messages as, at worst, hurtful, no matter their origins. That was not the case for Conrad Roy III. One could liken verbal pushes to commit suicide from someone so close to him to exposing peanuts to someone with a peanut allergy. Last year, disgraced former Subway spokesman Jared Fogle lost his appeal . But for all of his efforts to regain his freedom, his 15-year-sentence doesn’t sound too rough. According to a man who spent months in bars alongside him, Jared is living his best life. That’s kind of disappointing, right? Despite his many efforts to win his freedom, Jared Fogle remains behind bars, where he belongs. But just a couple of weeks ago, 41-year-old Marc Brooks was released from the same facility. Brooks had spent eight months serving his sentence alongside the disgraced former sandwich spokesman. And he tells The Daily Mail that Jared’s time behind bars isn’t exactly The Shawshank Redemption . “‘Yo, he’s living the life in there,” Brooks characterizes. He continues: “he’s eating good, working out, cooking…not a care in the world.” “It’s like Club Fed,” Brooks assesses. “They’ve got a movie theater, a fully-equipped gym with weights, ellipticals, StairMasters, cable weights.” “Outside,” he continues. “They have a baseball field, tennis court, soccer field, horse shoe pits, a bocce ball court and corn hole.” Of Fogle, Brooks says: “He got his culinary arts certificate while all these other sex offenders were getting their GEDs and stuff. I took the photos.” We’re not sure who would want to knowingly eat food prepared by an infamous pedophile, but that’s neither here nor there. “Subway Guy is in the low security section,” Brooks shares. “He’s in a dry cell, that means the door is never locked.” So, Brooks explains, “he can wander around and use the phone, use the computers, use the movie theater, whatever he wants.” That makes a kind of sense. Fogle probably isn’t a danger to the guards unless it’s a poorly conceived take-your-child-to-work-day. “When I first got there I was like ‘man, you guys have got it made in here!’ I couldn’t even believe it was a prison,” Brooks says. Notably, people are much more likely to emerge from prison reformed when they are treated like actual people while behind bars. “It’s more like a daycare than a prison,” Brooks marvels. “There’s a hobby section there for painting, leather work…there’s people making little toy cars, carpentry,” he says. “There’s dudes in there who do crochet and knitting,” he adds. Brooks also reports the existence of pool tables, ping pong, and dart boards. “He gets a lot of down time, there’s a recreation station with cards, Monopoly, Risk,” Brooks says of Fogle. “So,” he says. “He can sit outside in the sun and chill with his little sex offender buddies.” “He’s getting money that he can spend in the commissary store,” Brooks notes. Not so long ago, Jared Fogle was worth $15 million. “They have fancy snacks in there,” he characterizes. “Stuff like candy, chips, meats, tuna, mackerel, real nice foods.” Despite that, Fogle is apparently looking healthier than ever. “He looks real healthy and fit,” Brooks says of the disgraced former spokesman. “I’d say he’s about 180-200 pounds,” Brooks estimates. “He’s 6’2′ so that’s about perfect.” Sure, though of course ideal weight has to do with many health factors, not just height. But it’s Jared Fogle, so we’re not terribly invested. “When I first got there I would make fun of him,” Brooks says, noting that Fogle was an easy target for ridicule. “We’d shout things like, ‘hey Subway are you going to try and get a job at Quiznos or Jimmy John’s next?'” Brooks says. Apparently, Brooks was serving time after an arrest by the Bad Joke Police. “After that I just kept my mouth shut,” he says. “I didn’t want to go anywhere near him or his nasty sex offender buddies.” “There’s one sex offender on the range making little stuffed animals,” Brooks accuses. “What’s he going to do with them when he gets out? It’s horrible.” There’s a difference between someone honing a craft for work or therapy and someone perfecting skills that they could use as a predator. “I was totally grossed out by all the pedophiles in there,” Brooks admits. “Sometimes you’d want to punch them, because of the disgusting stuff they would say, but I never did that,” he shares. He explains: “I didn’t want to mess up and get extra time, I wanted to get home to my momma and my sister.” That sounds very reasonable.
