Fans have been wondering for months whether Amy was expecting her first child . At this same event, onlookers told In Touch Weekly that Amy and Dillon were asked about the status of the former’s womb often on the red carpet. “I overheard them say to many people that they’re not pregnant, just practicing,” this tabloid’s source said, echoing King’s exact words. Amy, of course, is the niece of 19 Kids and Counting stars Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar. She’s 32 years old, which is ancient for one to have her first child in the Duggar universe. But Amy has always been her own person in this regard, even throwing a bit of shade at her relatives who got pregnant within weeks of exchanging vows. “I [don’t] want to limit myself by just getting pregnant right off the bat and not exploring the rest of what my life could be,” Duggar explained in October in defending her life choices. It now sounds as if Duggar and King are prepared for parenthood, however. “If it happens, it happens,” she told Us Weekly on Tuesday, adding: “We’re ready to be parents. We’re ready whenever it happens.” Like many other woman, however, Amy also confessed that she’s worried what pregnancy will do to her appearance. “I don’t want to look like an Oompa Loompa,” she joked. Duggar and King got married in September of 2015. They actually appeared on Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars Season 7, but have since worked out all the issues that plagued them at the time. “For me, I just want to be a hands-on kind of mom. He’ll be a hands-on kind of dad,” Amy continued on the subject of kids. “We want to be involved in our kids’ lives no matter what they do. And they’re going to be our little best friends. They don’t know it yet, but they will.” The plan is to have no more than two children and to announce Duggar’s eventual pregnancy in a way that is “out of the ordinary,” Duggar teases. On Monday, December 10, Josie Brooklyn Duggar turned nine years old. Though the Duggars are kind of nuts , the story of Josie’s premature birth at such a low weight tugged at the hearts of even their toughest critics. In honor of Josie’s birthday, the Duggar family shared throwback photos of her fight to live. On Instagram, the Duggar family posted a series of throwback pics of Josie. In two of the photos, she is in the urgent care nursery of the hospital. “Josie was born on December 10, 2009,” the caption reads. They remind fans that Josie was born “at 25 1/2 weeks gestation.” She was born about three months early, folks. “And,” the caption continues. “Weighed 1 pound 6 ounces.” That is extremely, dangerously underweight. After a lot of work and a lot of love and luck, Josie survived. “Today is a huge milestone for her,” the Duggar family wrote in their caption on Monday. “She is a healthy, happy 9 year old,” the caption affirmed. They noted that she’s a 9-year-old “that is full of energy.” That is heartwarming to hear. “We are so thankful for everyone’s prayers,” the Duggar family’s caption affirms. Many fans and followers sent the family and little Josie their prayers during her health crisis. “And,” the Duggars continued, they sent their thanks to “all of the doctors and nurses at Arkansas Children’s Hospital that saved her life.” They really beat the odds. “That was the most difficult time in our family’s life,” the captions expressed. “But,” the Duggars concluded. “By God’s grace Josie and our whole family made it through!” As you may recall, Michelle Duggar was diagnosed with preeclampsia just before Josie’s birth. Preeclampsia, which often results in dramatic swelling as the body retains water, can even be fatal for both mother and child. Fortunately, little Josie made it through. Fans who have followed the Duggars for the past decade and beyond still remember Josie’s harrowing fight for her life. “I will never forget hearing about Josie’s early birth,” writes one fan. The follower continues: “I followed your updates so closely.” When thinking about a particular experience like this that is etched into your memory, 2009 doesn’t seem like it was so long ago. “I know it has been hard sharing so much of your life publicly,” the fan admits. The follower concludes: but I want to thank you for showing god’s love through your family!!” That is so sweet and affirming! “I remember when Josie was born and so tiny,” notes another fan. The follower observes: “The power of prayer can do awesome things!” “So many people were praying for her (including myself)!” the fan writes, clearly expressing that they played a small role in Josie’s health battle. Well, we didn’t see this one coming. Then again, that’s been true of pretty much every news story involving Charlie Sheen for at least the past decade. Everyone’s favorite dragon-blooded warlock from Mars took to Twitter today to reveal that he’s been sober for a full year. Sheen tweeted a photo of his newly-acquired anniversary chip from Alcoholics Anonymous along with a characteristically enthusiastic caption. “So, THIS happened yesterday! a fabulous moment, in my renewed journey,” wrote Sheen. He added the hashtag: “#TotallyFocused.” We’ve joked around over the years about Sheen being more cocaine than man , but we’d like to take this opportunity to congratulate on adopting a healthier lifestyle. We probably don’t need to tell you that Sheen’s substance abuse caused some problems for the actor over the years. Of course, what’s less talked-about is the fact that the Sheenius apparently had more than a decade of sobriety under his belt at one point. In a 2016 interview with Dr. Oz, Sheen joked that he’d attempted to quit drinking “about 2,000″ times. And it seems that at one point, he was victorious in his battle against the bottle. “There was a stretch where I didn’t drink for 11 years. No cocaine, no booze for 11 years. So I know that I have that in me,” he said. Sheen is HIV positive , and in the same interview, he revealed that it was his diagnosis that caused him to fall off the wagon. “It was to suffocate the anxiety and what my life was going to become with this condition and getting so numb I didn’t think about it,” Sheen told Oz. “It was the only tool I had at the time, so I believed that would quell a lot of that angst. A lot of that fear. And it only made it worse.” To his credit, even in his darkest and most scandalous times, Sheen tends to be more forthcoming about his flaws than most celebs. In the interview with Oz, Sheen was asked to provide three words to describe his old self and three to describe his current self. The actor said he used to be “hammered, fractured, crazy” and is now “focused, sober, hopeful.” Of course, that was in January of 2016, and Sheen celebrated one year of sobriety today, so we can safely conclude that his path to recovery has had its share of roadblocks. But as any addict or recovery expert will tell you, the important thing is to remain focused on sobriety in spite of past failures — and it seems that’s just what Charlie is doing. On this week’s new episode of 90 Day Fiance, Eric chose someone he’s known for approximately 90 days over someone he has known literally his entire life: His daughter. How did it even arrive at this point? Leida said she was prepared to call it quits with Eric and head back to Indonesia because he refused to buy her new furniture. That was the reason the pair started to argue at least. Leida explained how was overly stressed about child support and also about Eric’s daughter, Tasha, still living in the house with them. She claimed to be truly fed up and nearly finished with it all. “I feel like I’m forcing myself to get married with you because I don’t want to leave this country cause I have a lot of opportunity to pursue my medical career here,” she told Eric. After some cajoling, however, Leida accepted the child support. However, after she arrived home and saw Tasha’s dirty room, she lost it once again. “If you’re going to threaten to leave him, get the f-ck out of my country,” Tasha screamed at Leida, sick and tired of her threats. But this was not the route Eric chose to go; nope, Leida actually got him to kick Tasha out, making Tasha feel like her father was selecting Leida over his children. These two were feeling uneasy after they received a series of racist and violent threats against them and their wedding. In response, they installed security cameras in their house, yet their friends and family member were dropping out of attending the nuptials because they felt unsafe. The stars figured they had no choice but to elope in Las Vegas as a result. “The racist comments on our website really rattled us,” Ashley said. “Sometimes I think that a scary situation makes you get closer in your relationship.” Finally, we conclude with Asuelu and Kalani . Their relationship was on the thin ice after they got into a heated exchange last week in front of Kalani’s sister. Kalani felt as if she didn’t want to marry Asuelu anymore, while Asuelu simply grew quiet and shut down any time she brought this up. On Sunday night, however, they tried to talk about their major issues. “You’re not the person that I knew in Samoa,” Kalani said. “You don’t really talk to me. On top of revealing how Jorge’s prison sentence has changed her life for the worst, Anfisa Nava recently explained why they’re done with the show. She says that negotiations for a pay raise fell through, and that she and Jorge didn’t want to be TLC’s “little b–ches.” Anfisa was throwing shade at her former castmates, and Paola and Russ have issued a response. Anfisa has dedicated a lot of her free time to bodybuilding recently, but she still makes time for her fans. “We had to make a choice,” Anfisa explained recently. “Either we go into something on our own, like our YouTube channel and other things,” Anfisa said. “Or,” she continued. “We had to become the show’s little b–ches and do whatever they tell us to do, like some people.” It was that final jab that caught the attention of fans, and ultimately prompted Russ and Paola to respond. Generalizing hurts everyone. He has a point. “And,” Russ says. “We all want to be a part of this.” Paola and Russ continue, saying that the show has helped them to build a base of fans and to connect with viewers. “And thanks to the show, all of you know about us,” Paola says. “To be honest,” Pao continues. “We are grateful to have been on the show for so many seasons.” That’s a very positive attitude. Russ and Paola go on to praise Danielle Mullins and Mohamed Jbali for bringing attention to 90 Day Fiance . They say that the controversial couple “really put the show on the map.” We don’t dispute that. Paola then praised Danielle for having been so smart with how she spent the money that she made from the series. The timing of that was awkward, since Danielle has been begging fans for cash . To be fair, Danielle invested her money into her home and into furthering her education. It wasn’t frivilous spending. Paola and Russ then suggest that Anfisa was trying to bite off more than she could chew with TLC. “Just because that specific person is not getting the ridiculous amount of money that she’s asking,” Paola says. It’s clear that the person to whom they are referring is Anfisa. “Yeah,” Russ adds.” I mean, they’re asking something along the lines of Kim Kardashian.” That’s a doozy of a claim. We have trouble beliving that Anfisa wants $500,000 per episode. We suspect that Russ and Paola don’t realize how much Kim makes per episode — or how much they themselves could be making. “Even more than what Kim Kardashian can get,” Pao claims, “And let’s be honest — this is not MTV, this is not E! Entertainment television.” “And at the end, yeah, the money is good,” Paola says. “But the idea of doing this show is not just about the money.” Well, she and Russ both work. Anfisa has not been shy about being fixated on money. Pao has other priorities. “You have fun,” Paola says. “You enjoy it. You want to share your story.” Paola is great, but she’s missing the mark about this. TLC is a television network, not a cobbled-together YouTube channel. And 90 Day Fiance ratings tend to outpace other major reality series. Maybe the stars have been told that they can only afford to make $1,000 or so per episode. But many suspect that they could be making a whole lot more, with TLC still turning a tidy profit. After Paola shared the video, she received some heated comments from diehard Anfisa stans. Yes, they exist. Paola defended herself and Russ. “She is trying to stay irrelevant by trashing the show and the cast,” Paola says of Anfisa’s abruptly ended reality career. T he legacy of Richard Collins III —a student who tragically lost his life on the University of Maryland’s campus last year—will be kept alive through the creation of scholarships for HBCU students in the Maryland area, the Journal for Blacks in Higher Education reported. An annual $1 million scholarship was launched in honor of Richard Collins III, a Bowie State University student killed in May 2017. While visiting the University of Maryland he was fatally stabbed by a white man. Collins had so much going for him. He was a 2nd Lt. in the Reserve Officer Training Corps and was slated to graduate just days before he lost his life. Maryland Governor Larry Hogan recently shared that the state would fund a $1 million scholarship—dubbed the 2nd Lt. Richard W. Collins III Leadership with Honor Scholarship—which will be awarded to students who attend historically Black colleges and universities and are a part of the Reserve Officer Training Corps. Students who attend Coppin State University, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Morgan State University, and Bowie State University will be eligible for the scholarship. The families of several individuals who lost their lives to violence have chosen to honor their legacies by helping others further their education. The family of Tamara E. O’Neal —a medical student who was murdered by her boyfriend in Chicago—launched the Tamara E. O’Neal Memorial Fund as an avenue to create scholarships for young, Black medical students. “Tamara was an incredible advocate, particularly for physicians of color or anyone that may have expressed an inkling of doubt, as her disarming nature and warm smile made it easy for even the shyest aspiring doctor to inquire about the amazing job she loved, and in due time lend herself as a resource,” said one of her classmates in a statement . Kevin Hart out as host of the 2019 Academy Awards . As you’ve likely read by now, the comedian stepped down from this post after a series of homophobic Tweets and jokes from 2010 surfaced online. Hart could have apologized. He could have explained that these were just failed attempts at humor and he’s learned and grown since and understands why they were offensive. But he did neither of these things. Instead, Hart went on the offensive, lashing out on Instagram as follows: “Stop looking for reasons to be negative,” he initially wrote on Instagram in response to this scandal. “If u want to search my history or past and anger yourselves with what u find that is fine with me,” he continued. “You LIVE and YOU LEARN & YOU GROW & YOU MATURE. Please take your negative energy and put it into something constructive.” As you can see below, Hart simply got crazy defensive over the notion that he owed anyone a mea culpa. Hours later, Hart resigned as Oscars host because he claimed organizers asked him to apologize — and, still, he refused. “I chose to pass, I passed on the apology. The reason why I passed is because I’ve addressed this several times,” he explained, adding in stupid detail: This is not the first time this has come up. I’ve addressed it, I’ve spoken on it. I’ve said where the rights and wrongs were. I’ve said who I am now versus who I was then. I’ve done it, I’ve done it. I’m not going to continue to go back and tap into the days of old. I’ve moved on, I’m in a completely different space in my life. The same energy that went into finding those old tweets, could be the same energy put into finding the response to the questions that have been asked years after years after years. We feed internet trolls and reward them. I’m not going to do it, man. I’m going to be me, and I’m going to stand my ground. Regardless, to the Academy, I’m thankful and appreciative of the opportunity. If it goes away, no harm, no foul. Fast forward a short while later, likely aware that his career was likely at stake, Hart DID apologize. “I’m sorry that I hurt people,” he Tweeted. “I am evolving and want to continue to do so. My goal is to bring people together not tear us apart. Much love & appreciation to the Academy. I hope we can meet again.” Fair enough, we guess, right? It is worth noting, however, that one of Hart’s controversial so-called jokes said that, were his son to play with his daughter’s dollhouse, the star would “break it over his head & say n my voice ‘stop that’s gay.’ Ummm… LOL? But anyway. After claiming to be very sorry, Hart again took to Twitter and invoked Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy,” wrote Hart, quoting King. Don’t you just love it when someone compares a scandal of his own doing to the civil rights movement? Hart then thanked his supporters on Instagram Stories, as well, before taking the stage in Sydney. “Still selling tickets, 32,000 and counting,” he said. “I love you all.” Unless you’re gay, Hart meant to add. In a clip form his 2010 comedy special Seriously Funny, Hart says: “One of my biggest fears is my son growing up and being gay. That’s a fear. Keep in mind, I’m not homophobic. Be happy. Do what you want to do. “But me, as a heterosexual male, if I can prevent my son from being gay, I will.” Know that that is called, Kevin Hart? That’s called being homophobic.
