Although she had a shaky (almost LoLo Jones fight having) start, Tamar Braxton was victorious on “Celebrity Big Brother.” Tamar won becoming the first Black person to win Big Brother and also became only the second person to ever win a U.S. Big Brother season unanimously after she beat out Ricky Williams. Tamar spoke on her big win that includes a $250,000 prize to Entertainment Weekly and told them that she’s buying a house for herself and her son little Logan. According to Tamar, she’s been living in an apartment as her divorce is still pending from Vincent Herbert and she promised Logan they’d get a house. “Well, right now, I’m in an apartment. I just … I don’t even know if I’m divorced. [Calls out to the room] Does anybody know?” PERSON WITH TAMAR ANSWERS: No, you’re not. [Laughs] Okay, when everything went down with [being let go from] The Real, a lot of things changed. And, unfortunately not really in my favor. But, I’m grateful for the person that I’ve become from all the hardships that I’ve been through. And the growth that I have received from all the changes that has been made. And so my son and I are going to be moving to a house. And every day he asks me to go back to his old house and that’s just not available to him anymore. And I promised him a month and a half ago before I moved into the house that mom will be working hard to not replace it, but build towards our future and getting us a new house. Because we do live in an apartment and that’s nothing that I’m ashamed of. Sometimes you’ve just got to start over to start right.” Tamar also told Entertainment Weekly that she’s glad she and Kandi rebuilt their friendship while in the house although things were rocky at first. Remember when Tamar told Kandi she “did something to her” on The Great Xscape tour and burst into frustrated tears? “Yeah, we got it back because we wanted it. We wanted to make amends more than we wanted to fight and that’s for the both of us. I just think that’s a testament to life. When you want to get along, when you want to do something, and it’s another person involved, they’ve got to want it too. You’ve got to work at it. And we constantly worked at our relationship in the house. I wasn’t too happy to see her face, I’m not going to lie, when I first saw her. But, in the end I’m really grateful that she was there. And I’m really grateful of the friendship that we’ve been able to have in the house and outside of the house.” Congrats Tamar!

It took a while, but Mexican cartel leader Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán Loera was convicted today (Feb. 12) in a Brooklyn federal district court of multiple crimes including operating a continuing criminal enterprise and multiple charges of conspiracy to import and distribute cocaine, heroin and marijuana. He was found guilty of all the charges he was facing. El Chapo is also infamous for escaping not one but two supermax prisons in Mexico. But don’t expect such finesse stateside. Reports the New York Times : The guilty verdict against the kingpin, whose real name is Joaquín Guzmán Loera, ended the career of a legendary outlaw who also served as a dark folk hero in Mexico, notorious for his innovative smuggling tactics, his violence against competitors, his storied prison breaks and his nearly unstoppable ability to evade the Mexican authorities. The jury’s decision came more than a week after the panel started deliberations at the trial in Federal District Court in Brooklyn where prosecutors presented a mountain of evidence against the cartel leader, including testimony from 56 witnesses, 14 of whom once worked with Mr. Guzmán. He faces life in prison at his sentencing. Needless to say, the trial was bananas. Case in point: At times, the trial was so bizarre it felt like a drug-world telenovela unfolding live in the courtroom. Last month, one of Mr. Guzmán’s mistresses tearfully proclaimed her love for him even as she testified against him from the stand. The following day, in what seemed like a coordinated show of solidarity, the kingpin and his wife, Emma Coronel Aispuro, appeared in court in matching red velvet smoking jackets. Toward the end of the proceeding, Alejandro Edda, an actor who plays El Chapo on the Netflix series “Narcos: Mexico,” showed up at the trial to study Mr. Guzmán. The crime lord flashed an ecstatic smile when told Mr. Edda had come to see him. El Chapo is accused of making a whopping $14 billion during his run. Today (Feb. 12), the Roc Nation singer shared video footage and texts that cast the “Mo Bamba” rapper in the worst of lights. Yesterday (Feb. 11), Skye finally named Wes as her abuser (it was all Internet speculation beforehand) while claiming his goons attacked her and her boyfriend, rapper GoldLink. Afterward, Sheck Wes took Twitter to deny putting hands on any woman. Skye saw his denial, and doubled down on her accusations. It’s been five weeks since Mike Sorrentino reported to prison to begin serving an 8-month sentence on tax fraud charges. While Mike doesn’t deny that he’s guilty, his imprisonment is still a heartbreaking development for many, particularly given the ways in which he’s turned his life around over the course of the past two years. Fortunately, Mike recorded a wealth of video content before beginning his sentence, and his life, Lauren Pesce, is now releasing it gradually on the couple’s new YouTube channel, titled, of course, The Situations . The biggest of Mike’s many life changes has been putting his hard-partying past behind him. Sorrentino has been sober for almost three years, and admirably, he’s been using his experiences with addiction and recovery to help others beat their demons and step into the light. Mike Sorrentino: The Sober Situation In the video above, Mike opens up about his struggles and pays a holiday visit to a sober house. At the time the video was shot, Mike had already been sentenced and knew that he was just weeks away from beginning his sentence. So this wasn’t an attempt to butter up the sentencing judge — it’s just Mike trying to pay it forward as an expression of gratitude. “I was known to be, ya know, one of the bigger partiers on Jersey Shore, so I had to think in my brain, ‘how was I going to contribute to the show if it even gets popular?’ You don’t even know if people are going to watch the show again,” Mike says about the recent Shore reboot. “So, I just said to myself ‘I’m going to have to continue to challenge myself in my recovery,’” he adds. “My base was two years sober, I had the sponsor, I had a good support system at home with my wife.” Asked about his plans for the future, Mike reveals that he’s not letting prison slow down his career momentum. “It’s all about mindset,” Mike says of his time behind bars. “I’m going to try to better myself by reading more, I’m going write a book.” He also reveals in the clip that a third season of Jersey Shore Family Vacation has already been filmed and will feature footage of his wedding to Lauren. “We’re so excited to have a second chance and we’re doing the most with it,” Sorrentino says at one point. Mike’s release date is currently set for September, but with good behavior, he could be bound for a halfway house in just 3-4 months.
