Amanda Seyfried plays the titular porn icon in Lovelace , the upcoming biopic about the ’70s adult film industry’s most famous Deep Throat practitioner. Amanda took over for Lindsay Lohan after producers cut her loose amid her never-ending legal woes. While Lindsay seemed like a natural fit, this may have been a real blessing in disguise for the film, which co-stars Peter Sarsgaard. Check out the first Lovelace poster and see why: Sarsgaard plays the husband who basically forces Seyfried’s Lovelace into the industry (heathen), and James Franco even makes a cameo as Hugh Hefner himself. The film will reportedly deconstruct the glamorous facade of the early porn biz via its rampant abuse of Lovelace, who went on to adamantly oppose her line of work. Sounds like a must-see, and not necessarily only for its lead actress!

The reports are true: Demi Moore is out of rehab and now safely back in Los Angeles. TMZ was the first site to post a photo of the actress touching down in California yesterday, as she was spotted exiting a plan, donning a white top and shorts and looking healthier than she has in weeks. The actress left rehab in Utah last week and reportedly took off with close friend Eric Buterbaugh for Parrot Cay in Turks and Caicos. It’s unclear what the future holds for Moore, both personally and professionally, as she dropped out of a Linda Lovelace biopic shortly after being rushed to the hospital on January 23. “She knows she’s in a bad place and needs help,” a source told Us Weekly at the time. “She needed something serious to get her back on track.”

Shooting on Lovelace has wrapped in Los Angeles, and along with a sneak preview of Amanda Seyfried in character as Linda Lovelace (left), a new New York Times article about the production tells us a little of what to expect from the porn biopic. Unlike Inferno , which has been described as an unrelentingly dark bummer-fest by star Malin Akerman , the stars of Lovelace say they’re bringing more of a Boogie Nights vibe to their movie. Adrian Brody , who plays real-life Lovelace co-star Harry Reems , says his sex scenes with Amanda Seyfried are “ by far the lightest, silliest stuff in the movie, ” which he describes as “more ‘ American Pie ’ than it is Lars von Trier .” Seyfried herself seems similarly upbeat about the (literal and figurative) exposure that the film will bring her, as noted by the NYT reporter: “‘This film is really, I feel, the beginning of something else for me,’ said the actress, who was un-self-consciously sporting a frilly, translucent white dress that showed off a bit more than her silhouette.” Nice! With filming underway on Lovelace , one of two competing biopics about ’70s porn actress turned anti-porn advocate Linda Lovelace, the New York Times has a look at a faux-vintage poster featuring Amanda Seyfried as the XXX starlet in her star-making 1972 skin flick, Deep Throat . Lovelace’s life story, as we’ve touched on before , is a very dark one; after rising in the porn ranks, Lovelace broke off and accused husband Chuck Traynor of abuse and forcing her into sex acts and prostitution. The NYT profile addresses the darkness of Lovelace’s tale, curiously enough, as an element producer Heidi Jo Markel and Co. wanted to balance out with levity; it also highlights the link and difference in approach between Markel and rival Lovelace project Inferno , which Markel was once helping to develop.
