For the last several weeks, we’ve been documenting the many ways in which June Shannon is in trouble with her family. But these issues between loves ones suddenly seem harmless and unimportant. Because June Shannon is now in serious trouble with the law. The long-time reality star — who rose to fame as the mother of a child beauty pageant contestant on Here Comes Honey Boo Boo and who now anchors her very own series, Mama June: From Not to Hot — has been indicted on a charge of felony drug possession. Said charge stems from a March arrest during which time cops in Alabama said Shannon had on her person both crack cocaine and a glass pipe. She was caught in a gas station parking lot at that time, arguing loudly with terrible boyfriend Geno Doak. He was also arrested back then for drug charges and domestic violence and both he and Shannon have now also been hit with a misdemeanor charge for paraphernalia. According to TMZ, Mama June was not at the Alabama courthouse Friday for this indictment. However, in a strange twist (although perhaps not to strange, given this family’s history), her sister was there with a camera crew, hoping to stage some sort of intervention. This would have been the second intervention relatives held for June in the past few months, as they previously tried to convince her to leave Doak and focus on her children’s well-being. Alas, June has seemingly chosen Geno over daughters Alana and Lauryn. The former is currently residing with the latter and has said she won’t return home until her mother leaves Geno. On September 1, Alana posted a selfie on Instagram and as a caption she wrote: “It’s ok not to be ok sometimes it’s hard to follow your heart doesn’t mean you losing everybody bruising.” Fans of the young star took to the comments and began to share their love and support for her during this challenging time in her family’s life. More recently, various sources have reported that Shannon is selling everything she can just to make ends meet and won’t even have anywhere to live in the near future. She plans to just ride around in an RV with Doak and, we presume, at least try not to ger arrested again. It’s all rather tragic when you remember there is at least one young kid involved here. As for this latest, significant legal situation? Shannon is due to be in court for a hearing later this month. She has not yet commented on the indictment nor has WEtv yet canceled her reality show. But the network really would be well-served to distance itself from this troubled start as quickly as possible and in as strong terms as it possibly can. We’re thinking of you, Alana. Try to hang in there, okay? View Slideshow: June Shannon: Living Out of Vile Hotel Rooms with Crazy BF Geno After Crack Arrest!?
We don’t normally agree with Tamra Judge, but she may be right when she says that Emily Simpson’s marriage is doomed . There has been a lot of tension in that marriage, and we’ve seen some of it on The Real Housewives of Orange County . Recently, fans have seen Shane all but ignore his family in order to “do what he has to do” to pass the California bar exam. While everyone knows it’s a tough exam and requires a lot of effort, dude was either ghosting Emily or being full-on rude. Well, he failed to pass the bar exam. As such, he made his wife feel like crap and still isn’t allowed to practice law in California. Will this spell the end of them? E! News reports that they have confirmed that Shane Simpson did in fact fail the infamous bar examination in February. There are two important updates, however: The first piece of good news is that he took it again, a couple of months ago, and is currently awaiting the results. The second reason for hope is that, as an insider further explains: “The pass rate in Feb. 2019 was only 31 percent.” “It’s the hardest bar exam in the country,” the source adds, and indeed, many legal experts believe this to be true. Perhaps it wasn’t his fault, in other words, or due to a lack of effort that he came up sort. It’s really damn difficult. Still, on Tuesday’s episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County , fans recall that Shane was out of town. He took the bar exam – which lasts multiple days – hours away from home. While there, he got a hotel room. Ostensibly, the hotel room was so that he could continue to study in peace and quiet between testing sessions. Real talk? Nobody wants to drive multiple hours this way and that, especially in the middle of a test. To take a test well, you need to be at your best. Learning it all doesn’t do as much good if you can’t think clearly. Of course, we’ve already seen how Shane studying for the bar exam the first time around impacted his marriage. When Shane returned from his (failed) bar exam, Emily spoke to him very directly about their litany of issues. “I feel very upset and resentful towards you,” Emily told him. She then acknowledged that the feeling is mutual, adding: “And I know you feel upset and resentful towards me.” That may sound worrisome – it most definitely is – but airing these issues aloud is the first step towards making things better. However, Emily had more to say to Shane. A lot more. She clearly does not feel respected by her own spouse, and after seeing him on Bravo, it’s not hard to see why. “I have trouble with the way that you talk to me sometimes,” Emily confessed to her spouse during an emotional exchange. She expresses: “I don’t like the condescending tone.” “It’s sarcasm all the time,” Emily laments. She summarizes her displeasure with his treatment of her: “I get tired of being the butt of all your jokes sometimes.” Yeah, that kind of terse treatment and dismissal – which we see frequently on the show – gets very old, very quickly. Clearly, things with Shane are far from ideal and have been trending the wrong direction long before this incident. Emily told him that she wants to go to couples therapy with him to work out their extensive issues as a result. (Much better than just a quick ambush on camera, of course, even if these are reality stars who play the part.) However, Emily has done her best to maintain a healthy perspective and is making her priorities extremely clear. As she recently wrote on her Instagram account, she knows that her husband is not the center of her universe. “At the end of the day,” Emily shared with her followers. “All that really matters is what my children think of me.” View Slideshow: The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 14: Everything We Know That is an extremely healthy perspective to have. Once you have kids, they’re your primary responsibility. Of course, your marriage and how you handle that will influence the kids, as well. Here’s wishing her the best in a tough situation.
The Duggar family will always be a controversial bunch. But if there’s one member of the Counting On clan that most folks can agree on, it’s Jinger. Jinger has rebelled against Jim Bob’s strict teachings in a number of significant ways, which has endeared her to the many who have been highly critical of her family. But to fans of the Duggars, Jinger still represents the core, ultra-conservative values that drew them to her family in the first place. It’s a tricky balancing act, but the mother-of-one pulls it off. Speaking of her offspring, it seems Jinger’s appeal is hereditary, as it’s possible that none of Jim Bob and Michelle’s grandchildren have received quite as much adoration as Felicity. Every time Jinger posts new photos of Felicity , the crowd goes wild. So you can imagine the reaction to the revelation that the 1-year-old took her first steps this week, “Seeing Felicity grow and develop new skills is like watching a flower bloom,” Jinger captioned the pic above. ”It seems like overnight that she’s gone from being fully reliant upon us for everything, to mastering crawling, leaving dad & mom chasing her all over the place!” she continued. “Last night, Felicity conquered her rocking horse, which was no small feat! She had that thing moving…might I add, it was on carpet, making it much more difficult to maintain speed,” Jinger went on before getting to the big reveal: “Felicity has taken a few solo steps in recent days, but seems to embrace a more cautious approach when it comes to her strides. I know that these days will pass quickly, and she will be running all over the place. “I am just so thankful to have a front row seat, watching this little one explore the world around her. Many were quick to shower Jinger and her family with congratulations, including her sister-in-law Anna: “Such a precious season of life! Felicity is beautiful inside and out!” Josh’s wife wrote. Others echoed that sentiment, including one fan, who wrote: “Enjoy this time they grow up so fast! She’s adorable.” Yes, it’s more than a little ironic that the so-called “rebel Duggar” has been the one to unite the Counting On community. Here’s hoping her daughter inherited her defiant spirit. Wednesday marked the 18th anniversary of 9/11, a day on which thousands of lives were lost, and America’s political climate was forever changed. Countless celebrities paid tribute to the fallen — and more than a few tripped over their words while marking this most delicate of occasions. Among them was Khloe Kardashian, a seasoned veteran when it comes to both putting her foot in her mouth and fending off unwarranted criticism. We’ll leave up top you to decide which description best fits her latest controversy. As you’re probably aware, Khloe and her sisters are of Armenian descent on the side of their late father, Robert Kardashian Sr. In the past, they’ve discussed their pride in their heritage and used their platforms to raise awareness of the Armenian genocide and other matters of which many Americans might be ignorant. But as you can see, fans felt that Khloe’s latest statement of affection for her ancestors’ homeland was a bit ill-timed. Armenia had no involvement in the 9/11 attacks, but many felt that it’s a day on which all Americans should focus on their shared identity, not their individual ethnic compositions: “365 days on your calendar and you chose today to say something like this..hmm,” one fan wrote. “Be proud of your roots of course but out of all the days you tweet this today. It’s ironic given that your own brand of jeans is called ‘Good American,'” another echoed. Needless to say, Khloe’s tweet wasn’t exactly a hit with her fanbase. But hey, at least Khloe wasn’t the only one to step in it on America’s most somber day of memorial. Former Teen Mom OG star Farrah Abraham took her daughter to Ground Zero and forgot the difference between a terrorist attack and a purveyor of Buffalo chicken taquitos. “Okay, so we wanted to do, since it’s gonna be September 11, in honor of the Freedom Towers and observatory deck and everything, of 7-Eleven, we are going to do this,” she said on Instagram Live. “Wow, look at this guys,” she added, panning the camera across the 9/11 memorial. So yeah, it could have been worse for Khloe. But hey, at least Farrah’s not alone in making that particular gaffe . View Slideshow: Khloe Kardashian Shares 5 Tips for Looking Skinny AF

Notorious bigot Derick Dillard’s transphobia is so intense that it tanked his reality career. Some of his fans hope that he might express some degree of regret — or maybe even apologize — for verbally attacking a teenage girl. Instead, Derick says that people should just “get over it already.” Ugh. “QUESTION: What do you consider to be the most pressing civil rights questions?” Derick asked his followers on Twitter. It’s not the right question to ask, since no single issue can be tackled alone. Civil rights work has to be intersectional or it does little good. “Thank you!” Derick replied to a no-longer-available tweet. “There’s no right answer; I’m just interested in what people feel are the biggest issues.” “I agree with you,” he then affirmed to his follower. “That we should always treat everyone with dignity and fairness.” “Great!” replies another tweet, who then asks Derick: “So you can now apologize to @JazzJennings, right?” Instead of ignoring the tweet or replying “hey, that’s a good idea,” he instead doubled down on his general awfulness. “Oh get over it already,” Derick demanded. He wrote: “Any comments were directed @TLC and the parents.” “I love @JazzJennings,” he claimed, all evidence to the contrary. Then, in a sentence that would be random if you didn’t know how his twisted mind works, he concluded: “We have got to protect children!” See, Derick Dillard thinks that Jazz Jennings’ parents are “abusing” her by accepting and affirming who she is. While it’s absurd and insulting for anyone to claim that, it’s almost comical coming from someone who married into the Duggar family. Even before Josh’s molestation scandal was uncovered, the Duggars were notorious for their monstrously abusive parenting practices. In the mean time, Jazz’s parents simply let her be herself from a young age, giving her love and emotional support. But to Derick’s distorted worldview, a “good” parent would force their child to live out a lie that matches whatever was scribbled on their birth certificate. In August of 2017, totally out of the blue, Derick took to Twitter to rail against TLC for the show, I Am Jazz . I Am Jazz has followed Jazz Jennings for years as she experiences her teenage years. Jazz is very fortunate in that her family has been supportive of her gender since she was very young. She’s always know that she is a girl. She was also able to undergo bottom surgery — the term for genital alteration, sometimes known as gender confirmation surgery. Not all trans folks experience enough dysphoria to get bottom surgery (or have the money to afford it if they wanted to), but Jazz underwent that in 2018. TLC’s cameras followed Jazz through that part of her journey — and that’s part of why Derick thinks that the show is “bad.” Even though trans folks have existed across numerous cultures for thousands of years, Derick thinks that hiding their existence from kids will magically stop kids from being trans. That’s not a surprising point of view — his ilk have been saying the same about gay and bi people for generations. It’s not true for htem, either. What really happens when you raise your kids in a bubble where they don’t know about LGBTQ+ folks is that kids who are think something’s wrong with them. Some will go into denial. Others will live with their secret for decades, feeling misplaced shame over who they are. Either Derick would prefer that minorities remain silent, invisible, and miserable … or he really thinks that they just hear of trans people existing and go “oh, I’ll try that for fun.” So no, Derick, people are not going to “get over” your clownish transphobia. It got you fired and it got you hated, and you deserve both. View Slideshow: Jazz Jennings Dismisses Derick Dillard: Who Cares What He Says?!?
Source: Sean Drakes / Getty When I found out that I was going to Kerby Jean-Raymond’s Pyer Moss show, I couldn’t feel my legs for a minute and it felt like the room was spinning around me at 100 mph. Granted, I had been to one of the designer’s shows a few seasons ago and had loved every single second of it, but this time, it was extremely different. In just two short years, Kerby has gone from a Black designer to watch to the designer of the moment, and dare I say, a designer of the century. He’s the type of public figure that urban kids can quickly identify, among the Off-Whites and Balenciagas splattered on every streetwear roundup. He’s the fashion designer whose clothing is clean and respectable — he’s not really gimmicky or peacocky just for the sake of show, but his clothes pack a bunch and are well-tailored. He’s the Black designer who straddles this fence between resources and talent, one minute discussing in magazine spreads how he received death threats for his Spring ‘16 show, and then the next minute taking out Kings Theater to well over a thousand spectators as the entire fashion world stopped for a moment in time. Attempting to write about the Pyer Moss S/S 2020 Collection feels like trying to explain what water tastes like to the malnourished, or what love feels like to one who has only known trauma. I suppose I should also point out that other than the extraordinary rise in Kerby’s career over the past few years, the other reason why the invitation to his show was downright unbelievable to me was because I wasn’t being asked to attend as press. I was simply being asked to attend on my own accord. Working press during NYFW is a marathon, indeed, but it’s also exhausting as hell. Fighting to get quotes, to snap photos, to ensure you’ve received all the assets you need before jet-setting off to the next show or to your laptop to sit down and write, write, write, can feel emotionally and spiritually draining. There were moments throughout the season I had to work press for shows, and that was totally fine: Building TheBlondeMisfit.com has been the act and labor of love that I have sought to create space in, but being Black media and press is also a who’s who game. Sometimes you don’t get the quote, or you don’t get the angle. Sometimes the larger outlet does steal your material and you’re not acknowledged, or everyone else’s team of five has the same responsibilities as your team of one. So to know that for one night, the show of my dreams only asked for me to sit back and enjoy without the added responsibility of work afterwards? I was moved, and after seeing the show, I was thankful. Source: Sean Drakes / Getty There are a lot of show reviews on Pyer Moss’s latest collection, and honestly, I stand by them all. There’s interviews, backstage looks, features, and so much more. This third collection focused on the contributions of Sister Rosetta Tharpe, also known as the Black woman who invented Rock’N’Roll. With jewelry done by Johnny Nelson, an entire choir named “The Pyer Moss Tabernacle Drip Choir Drenched in The Blood,” parts of design by Christopher John Rogers, and more, the show was not just Black. It was undeniably Black. The choir sang hits from influential Black women in music, from Lil’ Kim to Tina Turner, as beautifully dripped clothing walked the runway. We saw tailored suits, pleated asymmetric skirting, plunging necklines, and evening wear ready for the red carpet. We saw the color block moto jackets in partnership with Sean John, and the iconic “Vote or Die” T-shirt re-emerge in today’s troubling political climate. But throughout the show, I couldn’t help but find myself putting the phone down in an attempt to just enjoy this moment — it wasn’t the Black models, or the Black clothing, or the Black choir, or the thousand people filled into this theater for this Black man and his team. It was the message of what fashion can be and what it should be. View this post on Instagram At @pyermoss last night. I never thought I could belong in fashion, and I still don't think that I do. I'm hypercritical of myself and my talents, and I oftentimes wonder if I'm taking on too much and if I will fumble the bag. But I have had so many people, family, friends, and you all, who have loved me from near and far, who have poured into me and have affirmed me in this space. To know that wherever I plant my seed, it blossoms. Whatever I touch, it gets to grow. That the work I've put in hasn't gone unseen, and that I have little angels all around me working those overtime hours. This is because I have given God all of my gifts, and have asked Him to order my steps and my anointing. I've asked Him to show people that TheBlondeMisfit isn't on man's timing, but on God's. HE will put you in the presence of great men and women, and to be in the presence of the impact that @kerbito brought to fashion literally made me cry. It is divine orchestration that proves I was meant to be there. That I am doing fine and that God is making a way. I may not always know what's on the other side of fear, but I know who holds the keys. It was an honor to wear THREE black designers last night to the most undeniably groundbreaking, thought-provoking, memorizing, and Blackest show I have ever seen. Thank You Kerby for letting God use you as a vessel for the people, and for reminding me how powerful purpose truly is. A post shared by Jamé Jackson (@theblondemisfit) on Sep 9, 2019 at 11:13am PDT Friends and family know I believe I’m a fashion ‘outsider’, thus the ‘misfit’ misnomer. Even as I learn and meet more people, take up more space, and fill more rooms, I learn that the collective thought of fashion has changed over the years, and that there are still misunderstood misfits in fashion. There are still people who are thinking in colors, and shapes, and hues, whereas the majority are still thinking about what they had for breakfast that morning. As the models did their final walk and the choir belted out a gospel song that’s lyrics sought for God to make one over again, tears streamed my face as I realized I was sitting in on a moment of history. A reclamation of Black women and our bodies and our narratives, not just in fashion, but in history, was taking place right on the stage in the presence of a multicultural and multidimensional crowd. I felt the spirit in the theater, the same spirit I feel on Sunday mornings when I head to church and reconcile that God’s gotten me through another week, or the same spirit I feel when I give honor and praise in the wee hours in the morning when I know I am spiritually under attack. It’s the same spirit I know my mommy and grandmommy felt walking the floorboards as they prayed to a Creator to make a way out of no way, and surely, He always did. I felt God’s face shine upon us and confirm that we, as a people, would be alright. But more importantly, I saw what divine manifestation can look like for another when you walk in purpose. That is what is missing from these show reviews I’ve been reading, who have accurately discussed the beauty of the clothing, or the choir, or the resounding speech that started the show. The show reviews that probably gave you the backstory of how droves of people were standing outside the Theater for blocks and blocks, hundreds, if not thousands of people there just to see if they could buy a ticket. I’m sure you’ve read the reviews of people discussing the power and the magnitude of Kerby’s show, some even calling it his “church” and what’s next in fashion. But walking away, I saw the purpose of something so much more than clothing or a review. Sunday night is a hope for anyone out there with a dream and a prayer, with faith the size of a mustard seed, that if it’s of God, He can truly change the game with your gifts. He can change the industry with your talents. The clothes and the music and celebrity sightings are all gravy to the entré, which brings us back to center and makes us question for the rest of our lives are we operating in purpose or are we solely skating by. I want to thank Kerby for relighting a fire within me and all who attended. For honoring the Black women who have come before, and will undoubtedly come after us. And for all of those who understand now more than ever we can reclaim that power and use it to channel true change in the industry. I never want that feeling I felt to die, nor the feeling that being an ‘outsider’ is wrong when God is using your vision for a larger purpose. The world stopped for Kerby, they can stop for us as well. Source: @JustInMyView / R1 Digital It seems like just yesterday Tekashi 6ix9ine ‘s Trey Nine Gangsta Bloods crew was out in the streets of New York allegedly putting hands on rappers who dared talked sideways about the “Gummo” rapper. Now only a year and change after claiming to be the “King of New York,” the rainbow haired rapper who once bragged about how thorough his team is preparing to drop more dimes than a Kevin Love and Dame D.O.L.L.A commercial against the same people who once held him down in the streets…and eventually kidnapped and robbed him as well. Unfortunately for the rapper also Danny Hernandez , he will have to take the stand without any moral support from his immediate family as they fear retribution from the men Hernandez once ran with. According to TMZ , Tekashi 6ix9ine’s family has decided not to be in the crowd once Tekashi goes all “Henry Hill” on his former mob associates and sings some jail house rock notes that will help put his former homies turned captors behind bars . Knowing that members of the Trey Nine Gangsta Bloods would be in attendance, his family members fear that they might and try to make an example of them to send Tekashi and other would-be snitches a message. We’re told his family thinks, at the very least, they’d be harassed, but more likely followed back to their home … or even outright attacked by Nine Trey members. Remember, Tekashi was already scared for his family’s lives — despite hiring extra security to guard them — and it looks like he’s following through on that concern now that the day is right around the corner. As we reported … prosecutors laid out what Tekashi’s going to say on the stand next week, when he’ll supposedly name names, connect people to certain incriminating messages … and implicate himself and other Nine Trey Bloods to a plot on hurting rival rapper Casanova . Presumably, he’ll also get into detail about how he was bankrolling his fellow gang members — something prosecutors revealed in court docs . Yup, this kid is giving up the farm in order to get back his freedom. Whether or not rap is still an option in his post-snitching life remains to be seen but 50 Cent seems to believe there’s a chance for his rap career yet. Just don’t expect 50 to answer any phone calls from 6ix9ine from here on out. Them the breaks.
Tori Roloff has been forced to defend herself against allegations that she recently placed her beloved dog in danger of drowning. No, really, it’s true. We’re talking about the same Tori Roloff who comes across online and on television as perhaps the most loving and caring reality star alive. Earlier this week, Tori and husband Zach took their son, Jackson, and their dog, Murphy, on a fun outdoor outing. You can see one photo from the trip above and you can visit Tori’s Instagram Stories to see a few others, most notable of Murphy in the water. It appears as if this was the first time the Roloffs had ever taken their canine on such an adventure, considering what Tori wrote about it online. “Today we learned that Murph can swim,” she captioned one of these photos on her account. Everything seems pretty harmless and fun so far, right? Tori then added an image of her pooch enjoying the water activity, and then another slide that said: “Here’s a pic of Murphy clearly saving Zach and not the other way around.” This implication — that Murphy might need to be saved in some way — must have set the trolls off because she later added another slide defending the situation. “Before I get the hate and told how irresponsible I am with our dog … there were like three guys wading in the water (which was up to their waist) ready to grab him if his head ever went under (which it did not),” Tori added. She even included this note: “Murphy is a brute!” The Little People, Big World star later shared a snapshot of the family dog gazing off at a kayak in the water where she indicated her 29-year-old husband was hanging out. “This is how he spent the rest of the afternoon,” Tori wrote. “I guess we know who his person is.” Tori, of course, is pregnant with her second child. She has enough to worry about these days — as noted HERE — without strangers online taking issue with something so, well… stupid. We also with this was the first time Tori had to clap back at morons on social media. Alas, it wasn’t even the first time she had to do so in regard to Murphy. In June, the reality TV star fired back at those who criticized her son’s relationship with his dog after she shared a clip of the two of them playing together. Seriously, people gave Roloff grief over this sort of adorable footage. “I have gotten a lot of feedback on how we let Jackson play with Murphy and I feel like I just need to clear something up,” she started a series of slides on her Instagram Story on June 19, continuing as follows: “Please know that I am VERY aware of safety when it comes to animals. Murphy LOVES Jackson and often times engages him in play. “He is also very protective of J and I know in my bone of bones he would do nothing to hurt J on purpose. (The occasional knockdown happens but that’s life with a 120-pound uncoordinated teenager.)” “We know Murphy would never hurt Jackson. So that being said let them be best buds. Kthanksbye.” You tell ’em, Tori! View Slideshow: Tori and Zach Roloff: Secrets of the Little People, Big World Stars’ Private Lives
