The very sad and unfortunate news is in: The official cause of death for music legend Tom Petty has been revealed. The veteran artist passed away in early October , with his manager making the announcement at the time that shook millions of fans. “We are devastated to announce the untimely death of our father, husband, brother, leader and friend Tom Petty,” said Tony Dimitriades, adding: “He died peacefully at 8:40 p.m. local time (0340 GMT Tuesday) surrounded by family, his bandmates and friends.” Petty was 66 years old. Now, nearly five months after Petty died, the results of his autopsy have been made public. In a statement posted on the late singer’s website Friday night, his family said the beloved musician had been using a number of medications, including opioid pain medication Fentanyl. He ultimately died of “multi-system organ failure” caused by “mixed drug toxicity,” according to the aforementioned autopsy report, released on Friday by the Los Angeles County Coroner. During an examination on October 3, the medical examiner found fentanyl, oxycodone, temazepam, alprazolam, citalopram, acetylfentanyl and despropionyl fentanyl. Petty was discovered to be suffering from coronary artery atherosclerosis and emphysema. “Our family sat together this morning with the Medical Examiner – Coroner’s office and we were informed of their final analysis that Tom Petty passed away due to an accidental drug overdose as a result of taking a variety of medications,” reads the family statement. It was signed by widow Dana and daughter Adria. Petty’s loved ones went on to explain that the linchpin to Petty’s demise was a fractured hip. The singer insisted on touring for 53 concert dates with this difficult condition, which only grew over time and which caused him to take the medications listed on the examiner’s findings. “On the day he died, [Petty] was informed his hip had graduated to a full-on break and it is our feeling that the pain was simply unbearable and was the cause for his overuse of medication,” the family continued in its statement. The Los Angeles County coroner’s office finished an autopsy on the rocker in October, but the official cause of death required further investigation at the time. Said his family on Friday: “We knew before the report was shared with us that he was prescribed various pain medications for a multitude of issues including Fentanyl patches and we feel confident that this was, as the coroner found, an unfortunate accident.” Fentanyl, it should be noted, is the same opiate that killed Prince in April . The Centers for Disease Control approximates that fentanyl is 80 times as potent as morphine and hundreds of times more potent than heroin. It is classified as a Schedule II drug by the federal government and its medical uses are normally pain management following surgery or for chronic pain. Petty’s relatives acknowledged these facts in its statement. As a family we recognize this report may spark a further discussion on the opioid crisis and we feel that it is a healthy and necessary discussion and we hope in some way this report can save lives. Many people who overdose begin with a legitimate injury or simply do not understand the potency and deadly nature of these medications. Concluded this lengthy note, which was shared on Facebook: On a positive note we now know for certain he went painlessly and beautifully exhausted after doing what he loved the most, for one last time, performing live with his unmatchable rock band for his loyal fans on the biggest tour of his 40 plus year career. He was extremely proud of that achievement in the days before he passed. We continue to mourn with you and marvel at Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ incredible positive impact on music and the world. And we thank you all for your love and support over the last months. May Tom Petty rest in peace. View Slideshow: 22 Celebrities Who Died from an Overdose
I generally avoid Amber Rose and all her slut empowerment, with her Slut Walks, because she was a stripper who dated Kanye, got famous, and now is hated by the Kim Kardashian, or at least used in her storyline to generate some interest with people…like some kind of WWE wrestling bullshit that bored Americans buy into….because their lives are pathetic… But she got a breast reduction and the fact that is news, or that I know this, when I don’t even follow her on social media, is just further evidence that the world is the worst… Who the fuck cares about who chops off their weird sexualized tits, to have them rebuilt into something new and exciting with some anchor scars like she’s Ariel Winter… If anything, we should have funerals for this shit, but the mentally disordered Amber Rose is on some quest to intellectualize what she does and generate some buzz around who she is…and chopping off the tits is I guess all part of that de-sexualization of herself…who knows or cares…whatever… Or maybe they are just too damn big and getting the damn way Either way – Good Bye Our Friend we Never Met or Cared to Meet But Would have Liked to Have Bought a Lap Dance Off You When You Stripped for the Story… Hopefully she keeps the BUSH The post RIP to Amber Rose’s Titties of the Day appeared first on DrunkenStepFather.com .
T he president and his administration are deliberately sabotaging legal Haitian immigration through a number of political channels, advocacy groups, activists and people from Haiti said this week. And if the president’s profane position on Haiti wasn’t already clear enough — he reportedly called the island nation a “shithole” and asked lawmakers “Why do we need more Haitians?” — his administration doubled down on it Thursday by preventing people from Haiti from applying to work legally in the U.S. “Haitian nationals applying for H-2A and H-2B visas present extremely high rates of refusal, and those issued H-2A or H-2B visas have historically demonstrated high levels of fraud and abuse and a high rate of overstaying the terms of their H-2 admission,” the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) wrote in an official notice released Thursday. “Haiti has shown no improvement in these areas, and the Secretary of Homeland Security has determined, with the concurrence of the Secretary of State, that Haiti’s inclusion on the 2018 H-2A and H-2B lists is no longer in the U.S. interest.” READ MORE: Trump Targets Legal Haitian Immigrants For Deportation The news came as tens of thousands of Haitian immigrants in the U.S. legally were facing the prospects of immediate unemployment because the Trump administration delayed the process of re-registering for the Temporary Protection Status (TPS) program under which they were brought them to the country following a deadly earthquake in 2010. As a result, many employers have reportedly warned their workers who are TPS holders that they may not have a job come Monday, when the protection status was set to expire. Oh damn. #Haiti (via @nadiatodres ) pic.twitter.com/JdTp3ReAQy — Jonathan M. Katz (@KatzOnEarth) January 18, 2018 “They told me that if I don’t bring the work papers, they will send me home because it is the law. You have to have work papers. I am under pressure,” Edelyne Jean, a nursing assistant in Florida, told the Associated Press . “They say that if I don’t bring anything new by Jan. 22 or the 23rd at the most, I am jobless.” Haitian advocates blamed DHS and suggested the delay was done intentionally to create the situation that TPS holders have found themselves in. READ MORE: Everything To Know About Temporary Protection Status “This is unconscionable, especially since if you recall, right before Thanksgiving 2017, the Department of Homeland Security announced the termination of Temporary Protected Status for Haitians,” the Black Alliance for Just Immigration said in a brief statement on Wednesday. “They said they’d only be legally able to remain in the United States until July 22, 2019. Yet once again 60,000 people who have lived and worked in the U.S. for years and have established strong community ties will lose their ability to remain in any meaningful way in a matter of days.” Trump says he’s looking to protect our borders, but apparently he and his Mar-a-Lago club/estate don’t factor into that flawed equation. The U.S. has a grim legacy of involvement in Haiti. And it’s a legacy of occupation. pic.twitter.com/u2amoNX8PI — AJ+ (@ajplus) January 18, 2018 “The foreign workers brought in to help staff [Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club] tend to come from two countries,” including Haiti, the New Yorker reported . Aside from being the antithesis of humanitarian, moving to rid the country of TPS-holding Haitians as well as those with work visas is also a bad business decision that could adversely affect the country’s economy. “Haitian farmworkers on the H-2A visa that I have studied in Alabama added $4,000 to the U.S. economy per worker, per month,” Michael Clemens, a senior fellow at the non-partisan Center for Global Development, told NBC News .
