Aaron Hernandez: Indicted For First-Degree Murder

Aaron Hernandez was indicted today on a first-degree murder charge in the death of Odin Lloyd, the friend whose body was found near his house. The six-county grand jury indictment charges the former New England Patriots star with killing 27-year-old Lloyd, a semi-pro football player. The indictment against Hernandez also contains weapons charges. Aaron Hernandez Indicted For Murder Lloyd was reportedly dating the sister of Hernandez’s girlfriend, Shayanna Jenkins , whose role in a potential cover-up has yet to be established. Hernandez, 23, pleaded not guilty to murder and weapons charges in June, and he is being held, in solitary confinement, without bail at a county jail. His lawyers have maintained that the case against the former NFL standout is circumstantial and say that he will be able to clear his name. Hernandez signed a five-year, $40 million deal last summer but was cut from the team within hours of his June 26 arrest for the murder of Odin Lloyd. He could face life in prison if convicted. Prosecutors say Hernandez orchestrated Lloyd’s killing because he was upset at him for talking to people Hernandez had issues with at a club days earlier. They say Hernandez and two associates, Ernest Wallace and Carlos Ortiz, picked Lloyd up at his home in Boston, then drove to the industrial park. Shortly before his death, authorities say, Lloyd sent his sister text messages. He asked if she had seen who he was with when he got into the car in Boston. Then he indicated who it was in a way that Lloyd’s family said he knew his sister would understand. “NFL,” he wrote to her. “Just so you know.” Moments later, authorities say, Lloyd was dead after gunshots rang out. He apparently got out of the car for what he thought was a bathroom break. Authorities have not said who fired the shots, but according to court documents, Ortiz told police in Florida that Wallace said it was Aaron Hernandez. Wallace has pleaded not guilty to a charge of accessory to murder. Ortiz has pleaded not guilty to a firearm charge. Both are being held without bail. Despite a massive search effort, and an apparent gun photo , authorities haven’t found the murder weapon, believed to be a .45-caliber Glock pistol. They have recovered a magazine for .45-caliber bullets in his car as well as ammunition of the same caliber inside a condo he rented, however. Police also recovered a shell casing that matched those found at the homicide scene after tracking a rental car Hernandez was in the night Lloyd died. Story developing …

SMH: Former NFL Star Aaron Hernandez Shown Holding A Gun On New Surveillance Footage After Friend Was Shot Dead

Things just keep getting worse for Aaron. Aaron Hernandez Showed Holding Gun After Friend Was Killed They got him allegedly confessing in police documents and he’s literally holding the smoking gun. It’s a wrap for this guy..there will give him the O.J treatment because both of them will spend the rest of their lives in jail. According to ESPN Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez is holding what authorities say appears to be a gun in several surveillance photos that were released Thursday and had been recorded shortly after his friend was shot to death. The photos taken from Hernandez’s home surveillance system are contained in more than 100 pages of court records released by Attleboro District Court. Aaron Hernandez is holding what authorities say appears to be a gun in several surveillance photos that were released Thursday. Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to murder in the death of Odin Lloyd, a 27-year-old Boston semi-professional football player whose body was found June 17 in an industrial park about a mile from Hernandez’s home. Lloyd was shot five times. The pictures show Hernandez in his basement holding a gun shortly after Lloyd was killed, an affidavit released Thursday says. The surveillance was cut off within minutes. Other photos show what authorities say is Hernandez in his living room, a few hours before Lloyd’s killing, also holding what they believe is a gun. Police say Lloyd was killed with a .45 caliber gun, but it has not been recovered. The previously sealed documents were released after several media organizations, including The Associated Press, filed motions seeking access and Judge Daniel O’Shea agreed Wednesday that they are public records. Defense attorneys have objected to the unsealing of the records, saying it is “systematically undermining” Hernandez’s right to a fair trial. The affidavit in support of the arrest warrant for Aaron Hernandez was unsealed Thursday. These documents contain explicit language. PDF Also Wednesday, O’Shea sided with prosecutors who asked to delay a probable cause hearing for Hernandez to give them more time to present evidence in the murder case to a grand jury. That hearing was rescheduled for Aug. 22. Hernandez will continue to be held without bail until then. Prosecutors say Hernandez orchestrated Lloyd’s killing because he was upset at him for talking to people Hernandez had problems with at a nightclub a few days earlier. They say Hernandez and two associates, Ernest Wallace and Carlos Ortiz, drove with Lloyd to the North Attleborough industrial park. Authorities have not said who fired the shots, but documents filed in Florida portray the former Patriot as the triggerman. According to the records, Ortiz told police that Wallace said Hernandez fired the shots. The Patriots released Hernandez within hours of his arrest. What makes a man who has everything do something so stupid? Whatever his friend “mouthed off” about was not worth shooting him over. Continue reading

Aaron Hernandez Shooting Victim to Appear Before Grand Jury

Alexander Bradley, the man who claims that Aaron Hernandez shot him in the face earlier this year, has been ordered to appear before a grand jury. This is separate from the murder of Olin Lloyd, for which Hernandez is charged, and a 2012 Boston double homicide in which he is a person of interest. Bradley has been ordered by a judge in Massachusetts to testify before a grand jury later this month; it’s unclear if police are trying establish any link. He is scheduled to appear July 17. Bradley had been actively fighting the interstate subpoena, claiming that he required medical treatment in Florida. The judge ruled that the travel “will not cause undue hardship” for Bradley, who “is a material and necessary witness” in the investigation of Hernandez. Bradley sued Hernandez in June, before Lloyd’s murder, claiming Aaron Hernandez shot him in the face following an altercation at a Miami strip club. He never identified the New England Patriots tight end as the assailant when speaking to police, and only directly accused him in his recent lawsuit. The former NFL star is facing a first-degree murder charge in the slaying of his friend/acquaintance and is being investigated in a drive-by last summer. Officials suspect his motive may have been to keep Odin Lloyd quiet about his involvement in the earlier murder(s), though that remains just a theory.

Aaron Hernandez Motive: Keeping Odin Lloyd Quiet About Previous Murders?

Police are confident that Aaron Hernandez had the means and opportunity to kill Odin Lloyd, and believe they have sufficient evidence of each. Motive, however, has been a mystery throughout the investigation of the former NFL star, though a second case has given police a new angle. Officials think Lloyd may have had information about Hernandez that the tight end felt would destroy his relationship with his fiancee and the Patriots. There are several operating theories, but a prevailing one is that Lloyd “mouthed off” to Hernandez about “secrets” Aaron had told him in the past. Those secrets, police believe, concern Aaron’s involvement in drugs and his involvement in several violent incidents – possibly two other murders . Officials are not under the impression that Lloyd tried to blackmail Hernandez, but that he mouthed off to the athlete, throwing that information in his face. Hernandez, thinking the secrets Lloyd knew would potentially end his relationship with his fiancee and his career, lost it and plotted Lloyd’s execution . Or so the theory goes. As motives go among people capable of killing other human beings, it would make a lot more sense than some “beef” at a club. Investigators working the Aaron Hernandez murder case are focusing on the link between Lloyd and the double drive-by homicide in Boston in 2012. They say that may also be tied to Hernandez, and that he is currently a person of interest – though not officially a suspect – in the double murder. Meanwhile, the dominoes certainly look like they’re beginning to fall for Hernandez, who is being held without bail on the charge of murder . One of his alleged accomplices, Carlos Ortiz of Bristol, Conn., was arrested on Wednesday as a fugitive on weapons charges pending in Massachusetts. Investigators say those charges related to the killing of Lloyd. Another man tagged an “accomplice” was apprehended today in Florida after prosecutors issued a wanted poster, saying he was “armed and dangerous.” That man, Ernest Wallace, was wanted as an “accessory after the fact of the murder of Odin Lloyd.” He turned himself in to police in Miramar, Fla. Police recently returned to Hernandez’s home to search the building yet again, this time in the hunt for evidence associated with the 2012 double slaying.

The Sister Of Aaron Hernandez Murdered BFF Odin Lloyd Speaks Out For The First Time! [Video]

Wankster azz Aaron Hernandez not only ruined his own life, but ultimately the lives of many, many others… Odin Lloyd’s Sister Speaks Out For The First Time Since His Murder Via ABCNews A star football player is in jail, charged with murder. Another man was sent to the same jail today on related weapons charges. And a third man in Florida turned himself in after authorities labeled him an “accessory after murder.” Lost in the haze of fast-moving developments is a 27-year-old Connecticut man named Odin Lloyd. Massachusetts prosecutors say Lloyd, a semi-pro football player, was a friend of former Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez – that is until Hernandez allegedly murdered him in cold blood on June 17. Lloyd is to be mourned at funeral services today. In an exclusive interview with ABC News, Lloyd’s sister broke her silence to remember the brother she knew. “I’m still trying to process what’s going on,” Olivia Thibou said. “I feel like I relive every day in my dreams. I go to sleep and I relive everything that’s broadcast on TV. I relive the night that we found out. I relive just everything. Even when I’m sleeping at night, I feel like it’s just a bad dream I’m not waking up from.” We can’t even begin to imagine what that kind of pain feels like… Thibou teared up recalling the words uttered by prosecutors. But she acknowledged that Lloyd and Hernandez were friends. “I do know that they were friends,” she said, though she didn’t want to say more. Because of that friendship, Thibou said she’s having a hard time understanding how her brother could have met the end he did. “It’s confusing,” she said. “I don’t think there’s anything that any man can do to have their life taken away. So I can’t even begin to process everything. It still feels like yesterday, that we just found out.” Lloyd’s sister said the football was her brother’s life even though he wasn’t fortunate enough to make a living at it the way Hernandez did (the Patriots released Hernandez right after he was arrested Wednesday). “He wanted to go to college and play football but, unfortunately, because of financial aid issues, he never ended up starting it,” she said, “and he ended up just joining the work force to raise money and see if he could go back to school.” R.I.P. Odin Lloyd, our thoughts and prayers continue to be with his family and friends. You can go HERE to watch Olivia’s interview in it’s entirety. Image via ABCNews Continue reading
