Say it ain’t so. Rumors of continued friction between 50 Cent and his G-Unit soldier Lloyd Banks seem to be at least partially true. During a visit (by phoner) to Big Boy’s Neightborhood in Cali, the “Many Men” rapper revealed that he hasn’t spoke to the Boy Wonder in almost a year… Continue
Honestly, I can’t tell which way is up with some of the news coming out of the April Fool’s Day weekend. Does James Cameron want in on a Prometheus sequel? Is the Queen collaborating with 007 for the Olympics? Surely Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels aren’t seriously going to shoot the long-gestating sequel to 1994’s Dumb & Dumber this fall once the Farrelly brothers are done promoting April 13’s The Three Stooges , right ? Well, the first was an April Fool’s joke, and the jury’s still out on whether or not The Sun pranked the blogosphere with their James Bond exclusive. But Coming Soon’s Silas Lesnick pinky-swears that the Dumb & Dumber sequel story is true, straight from the Farrelly’s mouths this weekend at the Three Stooges junket. “We’re getting set to shoot Dumb and Dumber 2 in September,” said Peter Farrelly. “It’s the first sequel we’ve ever done and we’ve got Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels back.” According to Farrelly, he, brother Bobby, and star Daniels were already gung-ho about picking up again with Lloyd and Harry. (Farrelly also seems to discount the studio-made prequel Dumb & Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd , as we all should.) Once Carrey was onboard, the project started moving. “He had just watched Dumb and Dumber ,” explained Farrelly, “and he said, ‘This is the perfect sequel. Let’s do it.'” [ Coming Soon ]
Over the last couple of weeks, BOSSIP’s email has been flooded with new music by artists whose names we never expected to hear in a sentence involving the words, “Yo, you heard that new…..” ever again. But as you know, artists can be a tenacious breed. And haters be damned, people like Ashanti, Teairra and Bobby Valentino have yet to receive the memo that this music thing isn’t going any further for them. Meanwhile, for a few others, like SWV, Jon B, and Mark “Return Of The Mack” Morrisson must have run out of options to deal with the realness of this recession. But as surprising as they might be, not all of these comebacks are necessarily a bad thing. So without any further ado, we bring you a Comeback Season: a Bossip Boombox Special Edition.
‘I don’t really feel affected by the comments that were made towards me,’ Lloyd tells MTV News of ‘RapFix Live’ comments. By Rob Markman Lloyd Photo: MTV News When Irv Gotti appeared on “RapFix Live” on October 5, he joked that he has no filter. And when the subject of his former Murder Inc. artist Lloyd came up, Gotti didn’t hold back, saying he had “no love” for the R&B singer. Lloyd, however, took the high road when asked about his old boss. “I haven’t been in that situation for years now,” said Lloyd, who has since moved to Interscope Records. “I think that what don’t break us, makes us, and people throw stones a lot, but I don’t live in a glass house. I don’t really feel affected by the comments that were made towards me.” The Atlanta vocalist, who recently dropped his fourth LP, King of Hearts, is now working with producer Polow da Don on his Zone 4 label and his happy about his musical progress, even if he isn’t enjoying the same sales success, as Irv pointed out. “It wasn’t a problem; me leaving was creative,” he said about his departure from the Inc. “It was a conflict of creative interest. It was me wanting to make music; it wasn’t me wanting to do anything more or less.” It doesn’t seem that Lloyd’s former labelmates Ashanti and Ja Rule share Irv’s sentiment. Back in April, both performed alongside the “You” singer when he opened for Diddy in New York. “It kinda deaded a lot of unnecessary rumors about my feelings towards people and my relationship with people,” Lloyd told MTV News of that show in particular. “I’m really happy about that concert.” What do you think about Lloyd’s response to Irv? The person or persons looking to purchase the rights to the Kim Kardashian sex tape are apparently not konnected with the celebrity or her husband Kris Humphries. Vivid Entertainment CEO Steve Hirsch, whose company currently owns the rights to the infamous bone-a-thon, says he doesn’t know who the buyer is. “It made sense the entire time that it would be Kim, but it appears it’s not,” he says, adding that it’s not even anyone remotely associated with her. The buyer will reveal their true identity if the deal gets done and explain once and for all why he/she/they want the sex tape off the market so bad. Hirsch says he met with the buyer’s rep several times in the last week but the buyer’s still several million short of Vivid’s $30 million asking price . A source close to Kim, meanwhile, insists she is not behind it but is very curious about who is, and why anyone would want to do her such a favor. Of course, perhaps the aspiring buyer simply wants to play a continuous loop of Ray J pushing up on that booty on some website. You never know. What would you pay for the Kim Kardashian sex tape?
Jordan Lloyd’s quest for a second Big Brother title ended Thursday . While she and boyfriend Jeff Schroeder seemed in command for much of the 13th season, which ends Wednesday, both were dispatched as the summer waned. “It’s really hard. It’s mentally draining in there,” Jordan told EW . The Big Brother 11 winner said she agreed to come back this summer mostly so Jeff could have a shot to win, feeling that she could at least help him. But her failure to win crucial challenges proved her downfall. “I don’t know. I’m not a competitor. I’m really not. The only reason why I made it so far was because I’m a great social player,” she said. “That’s why me and Rachel [Reilly] work so well together. She’s a great competitor.” “They didn’t trust her so I did all the talking.” Reilly may have rubbed other players the wrong way, but Lloyd admitted that she bonded with the fiery redhead – and will vote for her if given the chance. “After Brendon left, I think [viewers] began to love her. She wasn’t being so outspoken. She was kind of being herself, a great game player,” she said.” She thinks Reilly – not Porsche Briggs or Adam Poch – should win Big Brother 13 . But for that to happen, Rachel has to make the finals. Can she do it? If she wins the final HoH, that would get it done obviously. But would Adam or Porsche take such a strong competitor along with them if they triumph? Time will tell. Who do you think will win?
