In the recent judgment from U.S. District Judge John A. Kronstadt in California, Thicke, Williams and Williams’ More Water From Nazareth Publishing are jointly required to pay Gaye’s family damages of nearly $2.9 million. Additionally, Thicke was ordered to pay more than $1.7 million and Williams and his publishing company must pay $357,631 in separate awards to Gaye’s estate. The ruling also awarded Gaye’s family prejudgment interest on the damages and 50% percent of the royalties from “Blurred Lines” moving forward. Meghan Markle is out of f-cks to give, you guys. At this point, it’s impossible to believe that the Duchess of Sussex isn’t well aware of the negativity surrounding her at the moment, as one report after another labels her a spoiled diva who keeps stirring up trouble . So… what did Markle do in response on Monday night? She made a surprise appearance in London at the 2018 British Fashion Awards in order to present Givenchy creative director Clare Waight Keller with the British Designer of the Year Award. Keller is the woman who designed Markle’s wedding dress. The appearance on stage drew a raucous ovation from stunned attendees, as Markle showed off a very present baby bump — and also broke Royal Protocol once again. Perhaps making a statement that she isn’t about to rein in her defiant personality, Markle shocked onlookers and Internet users by rocking dark nail polish. This onyx-like shade complemented her black velvet dress… and also proved once more that Markle is her very own person. While there’s nothing official written down about nail polish color, it’s generally accepted that members of the Royal Family only wear very light or neutral colors. The idea, as is the case with nearly anything Royal, is that those under the umbrella of the monarchy do nothing to stand out individually in any way, shape or form. But this has been a problem for Markle since she exchanged vows with Prince Harry on May 19. Expecting her first child this spring, for instance, Meghan has threatened to give birth at home ; while multiple outlets have claimed she told off Kate Middleton a few months ago during fitting for her wedding. Heck, just in this latest sighting alone, Markle donned strappy gold Tamara Mellon sandals instead of pumps, which showed off her toes — and they were also painted black! We can’t say for certain, of course, whether or not Markle is purposely bucking tradition in these cases. She may be unfamiliar with some of the rules that exist for Royals; or she may see them more as guidelines. But the chatter about a feud between Markle and Middleton has grown so strong that Kensington Palace took the unusual step of actually commenting on it last week. This is something you almost never see happen. Multiple Royal staffers have quit instead of continuing to work under Markle, while Middleton and Prince William have been forced to change their Christmas plans. Instead of chilling with Kate’s family for the holidays, they will now pretend to get along with Meghan and Harry for the cameras. This Royal Quartet is expecting to spend the holidays together, just as they did a year ago. A lot has changed since then, however. For weeks now, rumors of a feud between Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle have been dominating tabloid headlines, and it doesn’t look like that’s likely to change anytime soon. Usually, narratives like this one are easy to dismiss, but this time, there’s real reason to believe the reports of royal discord are accurate. In fact, the situation is so dire that in an unprecedented move, Kensington Palace issued a statement on the feud . And is if that weren’t confirmation enough, Harry and Meghan are now moving out of Kensington and into new digs on the Queen’s Windsor Estate. Royal sources have also confirmed that Harry and Meghan will not be spending Christmas with William and Kate , as is customary. So what happened? How did this all start? Getting along is not only a familial obligation for these four, it’s a huge part of their professional duty. There are numerous theories about what drove Kate and Meghan apart (sources seem to concur that they began feuding and then William and Harry followed suit). But if you stick with the most reliable sources and the most believable claims, the timeline of this epic battle goes something like this: According to The Daily Mail , last Christmas, Prince Charles became aware that Kate and Meg were not exactly besties. He arranged a peace summit at Will and Kate’s country estate at Anmer Hall — but things didn’t quite go according to plan. A source tells the Mail that William “voiced his concerns” about Meghan’s suitability as a royal mate, which led to a “ghastly row.” The situation was tense, but the couples were reportedly able to put their hostilities aside in time for Harry and Meghan’s wedding in May. But according to London tabloid The Sun , Meg and Kate locked horns during the planning process, as Kate was openly unhappy with the dresses Meghan had picked out for her and Princess Charlotte to wear. Apparently, there was yet another argument, and this time Meghan allegedly took her aggression out on members of Kate’s staff. “That’s unacceptable,” Kate reportedly snapped. “They’re my staff, and I speak to them.” One insider tells The Sun that Meghan and Kate are no longer angry with one another, but they’ve learned it’s best if they simply keep their distance. “It’s a tricky situation, but it was a one-off, and they are determined to maintain a positive relationship even though they are obviously very different in their approach,” says the source. So there you have it. The good news is, it sounds like the situation has stabilized. The bad news is, there might not be any more amusing clashes for a while. According to Page Six the Fugees songstress pleased fans during a stop of her Miseducation of Lauryn Hill 20th-anniversary tour. Hill apparently was only fashionably late to her London concert at the O2 Arena on Monday. Reporter for British periodical The Independent Roison Connor wrote “‘She’s on time!’ A ripple of excitement has just gone through the O2 Arena. The lights have dimmed, and Lauryn Hill is as about as ‘on time’ as she’ll ever be – just 20 minutes late.” Apart from being somewhat punctual her rendition of her classic album was well received by ticket goers. Connor penned that “the former Fugees member’s free-jazz approach to the live set is often scattershot, but it makes the set feel loose and relaxed rather than messy.” The improved showing came to her fans and the public alike as a pleasant surprise. Over the last five or so years Hill has built a reputation for starting her sets very late , upwards to almost two hours behind schedule. Additionally the rumor is that since she was sued by the album’s ghost producers and lost in 2001 she is not allowed to perform original songs. Thus Ms. Hill has been playing renditions that ticket goers claimed sound nothing like the versions they grew up to. She has about 20 shows left in the tour, let’s see if she can keep it together. Tonight’s episode moves season five’s storyline forward in a major way and of course, we get left with a major cliffhanger. We pick up this week’s episode with Bella pointing the gun up at her chin. Thankfully, she doesn’t shoot herself as Hakeem manages to diffuse the situation. Cookie and Lucious take this as their chance to respectively lecture the former lovebirds. Cookie apologizes to Tiana for encouraging the toxic ride or die mentality. Lucious tells Hakeem that he shouldn’t even feel the need to carry a gun because he’s the only one in the family that doesn’t have blood on his hands (ironically) and should stay that way. Lucious points out that there will come a time when he and Cookie may have to face a lot more karma they have coming to them and he may be the one who has to take over the empire for real. The best thing to happen on tonight’s episode is that Andre finally got Quincy out of prison! He got another inmate who was never going to see the light of day again to confess to the crime that Quincy was falsely accused of. So that’s that. Quincy’s mom wants to pursue a relationship with Andre but he’s understandably afraid and fate may just not allow it. Now it’s the holidays and everyone is in Christmas mode, especially Cookie and Lucious. The best gift ever is when Kai drops his report about how Kingsley has been selling people’s data, via Empire, to the highest bidder, including the FBI. Cookie and Lucious are thrilled while Kingsley is pissed and Giselle and Becky are nervous. Patel is pissed because this is messing with his other businesses and he tells Giselle and Kingsley they better figure out who’s going to fall on the sword. Kingsley decides it’s going to be Becky. He claims to have video chats that prove she was working with Lucious and makes a spectacle of having her escorted out, but this is part of a larger plan. Becky is furious and says this isn’t true. Now, we all know what she did for Thirsty, but this ain’t that. Kingsley is trying to scapegoat her for a larger plan because when Giselle asks to see the footage, Kingsley tells her, “Sink or swim” and that’s enough to shut Giselle down for a minute. Plus, Thirsty said the USB he gave Becky was untraceable and we all know Thirsty’s plots are airtight when it comes to covering tracks because he’s the real MVP. Not all heroes wear capes. Kai informs Jamal that he got some more intel about criminal activity that happened at Empire under Lucious. He wants to release it, being the journalist that he is, but he won’t for now. Plus, his producers in London want to give him a full-time spot. Basically, this means he’s not sure where he and Jamal’s relationship stand and we’re all super confused. Like, did you two not just get engaged? Anyway, let’s cut to the Lyon Family Management showcase. You already know everything goes down at the showcases! So, here we are. It starts off all-good. Hakeem, Blake, and Tiana perform their song. Cheers to their truce. Meanwhile, in an office upstairs, Lucious comes face to face with Kingsley and snaps. He starts beating the breaks off of Kingsley and probably would have killed him had Giselle not stepped in and told him that Kingsley is his son. Lucious is stunned and only manages to eek out, “That’s impossible.” From there, Lucious takes a break from the showcase to visit Kingsley’s mother, Tracy, in the hospital right quick. Tracy, in the hospital and we flashback to the 80s. It’s what we already know: He was her dealer, but she also liked “hanging out” with him. Back in the present, Tracy wakes up and tells Lucious that she knew he’d come back. Lucious is still in denial about Kingsley being his son, claiming that they only “hung out” a couple of times. We all know that it really only takes one time, but at the same time, you get the feeling that there’s a chance that Lucious isn’t the father. Tracy encourages him to take a DNA test. There’s also flashback information that shows us that Tracy actually brought Kingsley to Lucious’ home once when Andre and Jamal were really young. She mentioned that she was clean but didn’t have the heart to tell Lucious that Kingsley was his son since he wouldn’t let them in the house and was generally acting shady. Cookie also startled him because she shouted out wanting to know who was at the door, which got him shook enough to tell Tracy to go away and not to come back. That was also the day Tracy got hooked back on drugs (Lucious gave her the money and encouraged her to get taken care of). Trigger much? Lucious manages to get back to the showcase in time for Giselle to tell them what Kingsley is trying to do to Becky and to make a deal to save her own shady arse. Giselle says she has more information that can help get Kingsley out but they must agree to make her co-partner when/if Lucious takes control of Empire again. Lucious says he’ll think about it. Cookie really just wants them to move forward, but the allure of getting Empire back is strong for Lucious. Lucious also has to tell her about Kingsley, but he gets derailed when Porsha summons her to the stage. Cookie starts off with a nice speech about their victory, but Kingsley crashes the party and blows up Lucious’ spot. Everyone is stunned when Kingsley reveals that Lucious is his father and that he used to sell his mother drugs. Cookie, the ridiest ride or die chick there ever was, is so disturbed that she walks off stage. Finally, Andre confronts Kingsley and says he will end him but Kingsley’s chilling reply is, “Not unless I end you first baby bro, bring it!’ Then we cut to three months after that and we see Andre flatlining on a gurney. That doesn’t mean that Andre is the person who died, but it doesn’t…not mean that either. We know what show this is. We can expect anything to happen but one thing that’s certain is that the flashback storytelling is over and everything will move forward from here. See you in March. Indeed, Kanye was familiar with this tape. So was most of the American public. But a new Kim Kardashian-Ray J video emerged this week — and multiple insiders have confirmed that it’s thrown West for quite a loop. The dude is really pissed off. You’ve likely heard about it at this point, right? Radar Online obtained footage filmed at some point during Ray J and Kim’s courtship, which lasted from approximately 2003 through 2006. The raunchy tape features Kim sucking on a penis-shaped bong that is placed between Ray’s legs, while also taking a hit of marijuana straight from her then-lover’s mouth. Particularly the part of her past when she films herself taking it from another guy. “At one point Kanye was all about the sex tape with Kim and Ray J, but now that he is married and a father to Kim’s kids it burns him to see that the tape is still referenced and people still see it and that it is still a thing,” this source said, concluding: “He is upset that Ray J will always be remembered for the tape. Nick’s father officiated the wedding — it was a Christian ceremony, and tomorrow they’ll have a Hindu one. Ahead of the wedding, they had a mehendi ceremony, a tradition for Indian weddings in which the bride gets henna designs placed on her hands and feet. Nick and Priyanka actually explained this in statements on their Instagram accounts today. “One of the most special things that our relationship has given us is a merging of families who love and respect each other’s faiths and cultures,” they wrote. “And so planning our wedding with an amalgamation of both was so so amazing.” They explained that “An important part for the girl in an Indian wedding is the Mehendi.” “Once again we made it our own and it was an afternoon that kicked off the celebrations in the way we both dreamed.” The celebrations included a sangeet — another Indian wedding tradition that’s essentially a huge party with lots of food, music, and dancing. Reports say that during this event, Priyanka danced for Nick, and he sang for her. There were also fireworks, because why wouldn’t there be? Their wedding took place nearly four months exactly after their engagement, which happened just a couple of months after they began dating. But they say that when you know, you know, and when Nick shut down an entire jewelry store in London so he could choose an engagement ring , there’s a pretty good possibility he knew. As he explained in an interview in September, everything “was kind of immediate, and I think we just knew it was right and jumped right in.” And thanks to another interview from earlier this year, we have a good idea what’s going to come next for these two! “I definitely want to have kids,” Priyanka declared back in June, shortly after she began dating Nick. “It’s going to happen in the next 10 years.
