Miranda Barbour, a 19-year-old Pennsylvania girl, admits to not only killing a guy who hired her for sex on Craigslist, but a bunch of other people as well. A BUNCH of other people. “When I hit 22, I stopped counting,” she says. Barbour is currently in a Pennsylvania jail awaiting trial for the murder of Troy LaFerrara, who she allegedly stabbed 20 times during a Craigslist encounter. Craigslist Killer Miranda Barbour: I Murdered 22 People! The reason? She tested him and said she was only 16, and he responded that he’d still have sex with her. A molestation victim, Barbour lost it on him . Gruesome, but not nearly as shocking as when Barbour said in a jailhouse interview over the weekend that she’s been killing people since she was 13. Like Dexter , she insists she only dispatches of society’s miscreants, claiming that “I did this to people who did bad things and didn’t deserve to be here anymore.” Barbour also says her first killing coincided with her joining a satanic cult. That group she joined in Alaska. It’s unclear if her husband was also a member, but her spouse of three weeks allegedly played a part in the LeFerrara slaying. Miranda matter-of-factly says the two of them killed the perv in their car. Finally, Barbour says she has no remorse about that or anything else, and actually does not yearn to be sprung from jail … not that she has any chance to be. She wants to stay put because if she got out, “I would do this again.” Hey, at least this Craigslist Killer knows who and what she is …
Michael Dunn was found guilty on four charges, including three for attempted second-degree murder, in connection with a shooting involving an SUV full of teens. Dunn allegedly got into an argument with them over loud music. He is looking at decades in prison, and yet there was no verdict on the first-degree murder charge related to the death of 17-year-old Jordan Davis. Michael Dunn Guilty of Attempted Murder Dunn’s lawyer, Cory Strolla, told reporters on Saturday that his client was “in disbelief … even as he sat next to me, he asked, how is this happening.” “It has not set in. I don’t think it will set in anytime soon.” The incomplete finale to this emotional, hot-button trial, largely because of the fact that Dunn is white and the teens who were shot at, including Davis, are black. For many, the Florida case echoed George Zimmerman ‘s trial for the killing of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin about 120 miles down the road in Sanford. While the state’s controversial Stand Your Ground law wasn’t used by Dunn (or Zimmerman), his lawyers similarly argued that he fired in self-defense. Given the partially hung jury, State Attorney Angela Corey said prosecutors would press for a new trial in Duval County, Fla., on the murder charge. “Justice for Jordan Davis is as important as it is for any victim,” said Corey, whose office also famously handled the Zimmerman case in 2012-13. Dunn is not a free man , unlike Zimmerman. Nor may he ever be. Prosecutor Erin Wolfson explained on Saturday night that each attempted second-degree murder conviction carries a minimum sentence of at least 20 years. “You are looking at basically at life in prison,” Strolla said, even as he vowed to challenge the convictions. “At 47, that’s a life sentence regardless of count one.” The decision to convict on these counts, and not on murder, didn’t come easily for a jury that had deliberated for about 30 hours since getting the case. Judge Russell Healey said earlier that the jury of four white women, two black women, four white men, an Asian woman and a Hispanic man was “struggling, obviously.” “But it’s not for want of trying to reconcile all of this,” he said. “I think we’ve got some analytical people trying to do just that – trying to analyze this from every possible angle.” The lack of a murder conviction upset some, including protesters who marched outside the Jacksonville courthouse calling for Corey to lose her job. “The people united will never be defeated,” they also chanted. Yet Davis’ mother, Lucia McBath, didn’t express any anger when she addressed reporters last night. Her family, she said, is “so very happy to have just a little bit of closure.” “It’s sad for Mr. Dunn that he will live the rest of his life in that sense of torment, and I will pray for him,” McBath said. “And I’ve asked my family to pray for him.” It was back on November 23, 2012, when Michael Dunn pulled into a gas station in Jacksonville, parking next to a red Dodge Durango full of teenagers. The teens pulled in for gum and cigarettes; Dunn ad just left his son’s wedding with his fiancee, who’d gone inside the convenience store for wine and chips. Dunn didn’t like the loud music – “rap crap,” as he called it – coming from the teens’ SUV. He asked them to turn it down, and what came next depends on whom you ask. Dunn says Davis threatened him, and he decided to take matters into his own hands upon seeing what he thought was the barrel of a gun sticking out of the Durango. But prosecutors asserted that it was Dunn who lost control, firing three volleys of shots – 10 bullets total – at the SUV because of the music he didn’t like. Prosecutors challenged specifically what he did after the altercation: He left the gas station and drove 40 miles away to a bed and breakfast in St. Augustine. There, Dunn walked his dog, ordered a pizza, then drank rum and cola, “stunned and horrified, (shocked how) things escalated the way they did over a common courtesy.” After learning almost six hours later that he had killed Davis, Dunn testified that he became “crazy with grief,” experiencing stomach problems for hours before napping. “My intent was to stop the attack, not necessarily end a life,” he testified. Yet his fiancee, Rhonda Rouer, testified that Dunn never mentioned any weapon to her – be it a shotgun, a stick, a barrel or a lead pipe – unlike what Dunn said. In fact, police found a basketball, basketball shoes, clothing, a camera tripod and cups inside the teenagers’ Durango, but no evidence of any firearm. Dunn himself never called police, either. The first contacts he had with them were at his home in Satellite Beach, 130 miles south of St. Augustine, as he was being apprehended in the case. Arguing that he wasn’t in a rational state of mind, Dunn admitted, “It makes sense that I should have (contacted authorities). We didn’t. I can’t tell you why.”
Dear Bossip , I actually have a gay best friend, as cliché as it seems, and we have actually been friends for five years now and are as close as can be. We work on many work-related projects with one another. We spend Friday nights together. We go out and pick-up guys. And, we share every low and high time together. So, when he told me that he had been in love with me for three years you can imagine my shock. He was leaving for an internship in Arizona for five months and in light of this event we had dinner to exchange, gifts, thoughts, and goodbyes. The card I read, and it is not something I can ever forget, “I waited because I didn’t know how you would react, but “Cindy” I love you.” My entire existence turned 180 degrees. In shock, I didn’t say anything. I just cried and exchanged hugs. On the way to the airport I could no longer contain myself and I asked him if he meant it like that. Of course he did and we discussed what it meant for the two of us. He had loved me for three years now, and he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. He said he would never risk hurting me, and couldn’t lose me as a best friend and if we got there as a life-long partner. What it came down to was, “I’m attracted to men, but I’m in love with a woman.” So, he didn’t really love me, he just had a deep affection for me (?) We arrived at the airport, and he kissed me, took his luggage, and left for Arizona. I got in my car with the anger of all the lands in my eyes. How could he tell me this and then leave? Send the world shattering then make me pick up the pieces? Tell me he wants me for life than say maybe not? I am so angry at him for copping out. I’m so angry with him for not having a solution, and I am so angry at him for saying, “maybe not.” Because I do believe he loves me. In fact, he is not the first person to tell me that my gay best friend has gone straight for me. After discussing this with a close friend, and if the things he told me are true, then it must also be true that there is some sort of attraction. When I fall asleep he holds my hands and yanks them away before I wake-up. He drops everything for me. He told me that the only secret he ever kept from me could destroy our relationship. He told me that he got involved with men at a young, confusing, depressive stage in his life and it may have given him solace when he really needed it. But, also it may have led him to believe he was a homosexual. Even more, he has never enjoyed any of his sexual encounters. At a time in his life when everything was changing, his sexuality in what he had as a stabilizer. The close friend even believes that his recent streak of promiscuity was probably in an effort to assure himself that he was gay. Moreover, he just said he wants to spend the rest of his life with me. That he’s been in love with me for three years. So, while it’s possible that he does not love me, and that he’s merely confused, I do believe that he is in fact in love with me. Yet, he had no plan, no solution, and he didn’t know what he wants to do. He would have to stop seeing guys, he would have to date me, and he would have to be open to heterosexual attraction. However, these are conclusions I have come to after he has left, after it has been left up to him. Moreover, these are conclusions I have come to, not him. So I’m sure you are going to ask, “Do you love him?” Well, I don’t know, but I think I may. I’ve never felt that way about him, but I have a very tight reign on my emotions, so it would be natural that I would never open up that door to a gay man. I felt in those thirty seconds my world shift. Something I’ve never felt before. I think I do love him, but I don’t want to say that if he doesn’t love me. In the meantime, he is gone. I am angry. I am confused. I don’t know what to do. I need him to be my best friend. I need him to figure this out too. – Confused Gay/Straight Love Dear Ms. Confused Gay/Straight Love , I guess I’m at a loss as well. I mean, your gay best friend, the man you pick up guys with, spend lots of quality together, and have been there through thick and thin, confesses his undying love for you and then jets off to another state. And, you’re wondering if you love him, and if he could “really” love you because for all you know he is gay. Also, you want to know how to move forward, and where do you put your feelings and emotions because he has left you hanging. Well, let’s see here: He is gay. He is and has been in intimate relationships with men. As far as you know he’s never been with a woman, and told you that he is attracted to men. Therefore, he is gay. He shared with you that when he was young, he went through a confusing and depressive stage and as a result he found solace in being with men. Hmmm, so, he found solace by sleeping with men? Or, was he confused and depressive because he was fighting his desires, and knew he was gay, but because he was young and it was hard for him to accept his sexuality. He desperately wanted to resist his desires, and he probably really wanted to be like his friends, and desire women. But, he knew he was different. He was afraid of losing his friends, and loved ones. He didn’t want to be ostracized by those he loved, and he really and truly wanted to be accepted for who he was. However, he was unable to resist his desires and began sleeping with men. But, later, he regretted it because like most men who are struggling with their sexuality, they resent and regret the act afterward because they are uncomfortable and unhappy in their own skin. They hate that they give in to their urges, desire, and true nature. They fight, hoping and wishing it will go away, but it doesn’t. It grows stronger, and then they start developing feelings, emotions, and physical attractions. And, no matter how hard they don’t want to be gay, it’s just their DNA. It’s just who they are. But, this is just my assumption. I have no doubt that he loves you. However, I feel that his love is not a romantic love, but a endearing love for a best friend, a confidante. He loves you because you allow him to feel comfortable in his skin and he can be himself without you casting any judgment and criticism on him. You accept him for who he is, and this gives him the freedom to be himself. Therefore, it explains his loyalty to you. He will do anything for you. He enjoys your company. He loves that he can share anything with you. You his open ear, shoulder to lean on, and comforter. And, he does not want to lose his best friend because you are the one person who loves him unconditionally. Yet, these feelings and emotions he has for you can easily be misconstrued or confused with romantic love. You have given him the space and comfort to express a love that he truly desires to share with another man. But, he has been unsuccessful in his quest for romantic relationships with men. And, this is due to his fear of actually being in love with another man because he is not in love with himself. Until he learns to love himself, and love who he is, then he will continue to sabotage his relationships with men, and continue to struggle to have any requited love with another man. His promiscuity is his search for acceptance of himself. He is acting out sexually only because he refuses to allow himself to be his true authentic self – A gay man. You are the only source of stability he has, and therefore he loves the stability you give him. His desires to be with men, his attraction to men, and his unsuccessful relationships with men has been and will continue to be his struggle unless he comes to terms with his sexuality, and accepts who he is. So, with that, let’s address the fact that you mentioned that you are not sure if you love him, and you’ve never looked at him in that way and you’ve never felt that way about him. You also mentioned that because you’ve always known him to be gay, and you cannot open yourself up to be with a gay man. Then, I think you have your answer on where this is going, and what to do next. I do agree that he should not have dumped this on you, and then left with no explanation, and no resolution. That was selfish, but then again he has led his life selfishly, particularly when it comes to his emotions and feelings. Notice the trail of men he has left behind, and how he has not had any successful relationships with men. And, now you’re in that mix. If you love someone you don’t do what he did to you by confessing his undying love for the past three years, and then leave in some dramatic fashion as he made his exit. That’s a drama queen! But, again, and because he doesn’t know how to handle emotions, and other people’s feelings, especially his own, he did what he only knew best how to do. He ran, left you to pick up the pieces, and left you with unanswered questions. That’s what he has always done, and will continue to do until he gets help, into therapy and counseling, and deal with his sexuality head on. He runs when things get too intense. He runs when it’s time to confront himself and his feelings. You don’t have time for this, and you should assess the situation for what it truly is: He is a gay man trying to find himself. He is running from his emotions, feelings, and true desires, and his love for you is not some romantic, physical, endearing love. It is a friend’s deep love who truly cares for, supports, and encourages another friend. You can call him, and let him know you are there for him, and that he should get into therapy and counseling with a specialist in an LGBT center in Arizona. He can talk with someone who can help him redirect his feelings and emotions, and hopefully resolve his issues of fear and hatred of himself. And, you can also begin picking up the shattered pieces he left you with, and put your life and yourself back together. You love him, but you are not in love with him. This incident just stunned you, temporarily put you into a tailspin, and had you reconsidering some things between the two of you. You’ve been a good friend who supported, nurtured, and allowed him to be himself without any question. That’s what he needed, and you gave that to him. Now, it’s time to love yourself, be good to you, and provide yourself with the same unconditional love. – Terrance Dean Hey Bossip Fam, what do you think? Share your opinions and thoughts below! This is why Republicans stay losing. Senator Rand Paul Sues President Barack Obama Over NSA Surveillance They stay looking for a way to bring Obama down. According to CBS News: Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., is joining with a conservative group and Virginia’s former attorney general to sue President Obama and other top administration officials. They allege that the administration is violating the Fourth Amendment by collecting Americans’ phone metadata and are seeking a ruling that would halt the program and purge all previously collected data from government databases. “There’s a huge and growing swell of protest in this country of people who are outraged that their records would be taken without suspicion, without a judge’s warrant and without individualization,” Paul said at a press conference after filing the lawsuit in Washington, D.C. He predicted it would be a “historic lawsuit” that goes all the way to the Supreme Court. In addition to Paul, the lawsuit is being brought by Matt Kibbe, the president of the tea party-aligned group FreedomWorks, and the lead counsel is former Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, who lost the state’s gubernatorial election to Democrat Terry McAuliffe in November. It names Mr. Obama, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, National Security Agency (NSA) Director Keith Alexander and FBI Director James Comey as the defendents. In a statement before filing the suit, Paul said the president has “publicly refused to stop a clear and continuing violation of the 4th Amendment.” It’s sad this guy honestly thinks he will win this fugazi lawsuit.
We think the U.S. justice system is pretty racist to begin with — and the laws against felons voting is just another way to rob black people from being heard — isn’t it? We’re not the only ones who feel this way. Attorney General Eric Holder is currently speaking up about how states need to repeal laws that keep felons from voting after being released from prison and he’s making quite a point if you ask us. Via WaPo reports : Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. on Tuesday called on states to repeal laws that prohibit felons from voting after their release from prison, urging changes that could allow millions more across the country to cast ballots. In a speech at Georgetown University Law Center, Holder said, “It is time to fundamentally reconsider laws that permanently disenfranchise people who are no longer under federal or state supervision.” Holder said that current laws forbidding felons from voting make it harder for them to reintegrate into society. He pointed to a recent study that showed that felons in Florida who were granted the right to vote again had a lower recidivism rate. “These restrictions are not only unnecessary and unjust, they are also counterproductive,” Holder said. “By perpetuating the stigma and isolation imposed on formerly incarcerated individuals, these laws increase the likelihood they will commit future crimes.” Holder does not have the authority to force states to change their laws, but his request could influence the debate to restore voting rights. His appeal is part of a broader effort underway by the Justice Department to overhaul the criminal justice system, which U.S. officials say often treats minority groups unfairly. The attorney general said that after the Civil War, laws that prohibit felons from voting were a way for post-Reconstruction states to keep blacks from casting ballots. Today, an estimated 5.8 million Americans are not allowed to vote because of current or previous felony convictions. Of those, nearly 38 percent are black. The Justice Department said that 23 states since 1997 have enacted voting rights overhauls. They include Nebraska, Nevada, Texas and Washington state. What do you think about this proposition? In sad news from the world of television today, Sid Caesar, one of the groundbreaking sketch-comedy artists in the history of the medium, has died at age 91. His friend Larry King revealed Caesar’s passing on Twitter a little while ago. King writes, “Sorry to learn about the passing of Sid Caesar – a dear friend, a comic genius & an American classic – there will never be another one like him.” A New York-born nightclub performer, he helped to usher in the TV revolution with a 90-minute Saturday night variety program, Your Show of Shows . That was 1950 if you can believe that. The live TV broadcast became a hit that lasted four years and later morphed into Caesar’s Hour , from 1954-1957. His writing staff included Woody Allen, Neil Simon, Mel Brooks, and Larry Gelbart, but the real star of the show was Sid himself, and he worked at it. Caesar was prolific but had no interest in small talk. He once said the hardest part of the show was being himself and wishing the audience good evening. The Biggest Loser trainer Bob Harper admits that he was as shocked as anyone when he saw Rachel Frederickson walk out during Tuesday’s finale. “I was stunned. That would be the word. I mean, we’ve never had a contestant come in at 105 lbs.,” he says in an interview on the Rachael Ray Show. Rachel Frederickson , 24, started the show at 260 lbs. Yes, 260. When she left as a finalist three months ago to work on losing weight at home, she was 150 lbs. Between then and the finale, she lost 45 more. It was the latter that shocked Jillian Michaels and her Biggest Loser trainer counterparts as much as it did longtime fans of the popular NBC competition. “What people don’t understand is, when the contestants leave to go home … they’re in charge of themselves,” says Harper, 48, of the show’s process. “So, I had not seen her until that night, and so when she walked out, I was just kind of like, whoa. And I’ve been on the show since the beginning, forever.” Frederickson, who has faced major scrutiny this week, worked on the show with trainer Dolvett Quince, who wrote in a Facebook message Wednesday: “Please try not to look at one slice of Rachel’s journey and come to broad conclusions. Rachel’s health is and always has been my main concern.” “Her journey to good health has not yet ended!” Quince added. Many critics of the show say she is too skinny at 5’4″ and 105 lbs. She says she worked out four times a day , but is now in “maintenance mode.” For her part, Frederickson is happy with her new body, saying “I just love myself, and I am embracing it,” while her “goals are to be healthy and strong.” Scroll through pics of her dramatic transformation below … Rachel Frederickson: The Biggest Loser Winner Before & After Open Slideshow 1. Fans weren’t the only ones shocked by The Biggest Loser winner Rachel Frederickson’s weight loss. Jillian Michaels herself was at a loss for words. The personal trainer appeared flabbergasted by Frederickson’s 155-pound weight loss (from 260 to 105) on the show’s season 15 finale on Tuesday. When the 24-year-old former high school swimmer walked out onstage for the first time since leaving the ranch last fall … this was Jill’s reaction: Michaels could be seen mouthing “Oh my God” after looking at Rachel Frederickson . Several times, in fact, before NBC’s camera panned away. Shrinking from 260 pounds and a size 20 to 105 pounds and a size 0/2, she beat fellow finalists David Brown and Bobby Saleem for the $250,000 prize. “It’s crazy!” the 5-foot-4 reality star said. “But it’s not about that. [My body] is absolutely the prize … to have this energy and to feel alive means the world.” “I lost that athlete, I lost that inner confidence, that self-worth. Throughout the season I started to find that girl again, and at the triathlon, [she] was there. She continued: “I embraced her, and I said, ‘Run with her. Go take charge of your life. You’ve had this second chance, now use it. Don’t ever let it go.'” Did she go too far, though? That’s what many observers are asking today. Rachel Frederickson Wins The Biggest Loser Her victory and competitive drive to win and win big has drawn major criticism from those who question the safety and ethics of The Biggest Loser . Not everyone agrees, though, as Frederickson apologists will point out that she set out to turn her life around and win money, achieving both goals. That’s the point of the show, isn’t it? You might question why it’s the point of a show, but is it fair to Rachel to basically say she was too good at it? You tell us: Rachel Frederickson on The Biggest Loser: Too skinny? Yes.
