Twitter Had A Lot To Say About The New Trailer for ‘Avengers: End Game’

Read the original:

Source: Jesse Grant / Getty The official trailer for Avengers: End Game is finally here, and of course, people have a lot to say about it. Since the second Avengers: Infinity War dropped in April of last year, Marvel fans were already asking a million questions about what’s going to happen in the sequel–and now, we are closer than we’ve ever been to finally seeing what happens to our favorite Avengers squad. Disney dropped the brand new Avengers: Endgame trailer on Thursday, which immediately caught fans by surprise. The short movie teaser shows our heroes–including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Captain Marvel and many more–trying to figure out how to move forward with their lives after Thanos destroyed half of their universe with one simple snap of his finger. The trailer starts with some ominous voiceover work from the one-and-only Tony Stark, who begins,  “God, it seems like a thousand years ago I found my way out of that cave, became Iron Man, realized I loved you. I know I said no more surprises, but, I was really hoping to pull off one last one.” Here, he’s addressing who we can only assume is his soon-to-be-wife Pepper Potts. As the trailer continues, we see a lot of very nostalgic flashback moments for some of our favorite heroes like Ant Man, Hawkeye, Captain America, and more. The trailer itself is pretty melancholy, showing just how serious life and its stakes have gotten since Thanos’ decimations–but it’s not all bad news. At the end of the trailer, we get to see a brand new scene where Thor summons his hammer, which whizzes right past Captain Marvel’s head without causing a flinch. In this very telling introduction for the new hero, she smirks as Thor turns to Black Widow and says, “I like this one.” If you haven’t seen the trailer yet, join the rest of the world and watch it down below: Of course, with a new trailer comes some new reactions, and people are going absolutely crazy for this preview of what’s sure to be the biggest movie of 2019. For Better Or For Worse: Remembering What Life Was Like Before Instagram And Like-Based Culture

Source: NurPhoto / Getty Social media junkies got a taste of what the old days were like when Instagram and Facebook glitched this week. People were so lost without their respective timelines, “IG and FB down” trended for the better part of Wednesday. It got us thinking about what life was like before social media fully infiltrated our lives , specifically Instagram, and come to think of it…the olden days were an entirely different world. Then, going viral became a major measure of success and things haven’t been the same since. So, what all do we do differently now? Pretty much everything… People used to just eat their food, for instance. Now it’s all about taking photos to let people know how good you’re eating—and even food pics need perfect lighting. You weren’t able to watch your significant other “like” a surplus amount of *ss or eggplant pics in real-time prior to IG. Social media definitely exposed the overall flimsiness of present-day relationships. There’s a lack of real-life presence. We do EVERYTHING with our phones these days…being able to walk and check Instagram at the same time is actually a life-skill. Whereas before, people actually lived real life…instead of taking pictures of life to flex for the Gram. Then there’s the added pressure to appear just as picture perfect when people see you out and about. Let’s just say kids don’t look like they used to… Instagram provided people the ability to share content with the world instantly. With a way to immediately let your key market know that your product/service/talent is available, owning your own business and being your own boss is a lot less intimidating these days. Everyone’s an entrepreneur now. And in many cases, these folks are also mini-celebrities with super powerful brands thanks to all those “likes.” Speaking of which… Fashion Nova and online boutiques like FN changed the game by getting Instagram influencers and celebrities to wear and endorse their products in IG photos. A relatively new company, FN was the most searched fashion brand of 2018 , beating out ALL the top dawgs with a simple but innovative marketing strategy. Checkmate. View this post on Instagram I just saw the Finished version of #Aladdin!! IT IS FIRE I AM HYPED!!! I can’t wait for y’all to see it. But, for now… Here’s the full trailer! 🙂 A post shared by Will Smith (@willsmith) on Mar 12, 2019 at 5:48am PDT Speaking of marketing, if you expect your film to be hailed as a blockbuster movie these days, you’d better have an Instagram-ready rollout! Remember when that new joint was announced primarily via television (or posters on the train)? Remember when a guy used to have to work up the nerve to ask you for your number IN PERSONNNN??! Now there are what they young people call “DMs.” Celebrities talk directly to their fans now…no interviews necessary to set any rumor straight. And that access works both ways. You’re just one click away from seeing what your fave has been up to recently, provided they have an active IG account—but most of them do. Unheard of prior to IG. We used to get cards and flowers, but now if you forget to do an Instagram shoutout for your friend on his/her birthday, you’re as good as dead. Made up a cool new dance? Music videos aren’t the primary way of spreading your moves to the world anymore. Just dance for Instagram and if it’s cool enough, it’ll get around by way of a dance challenge. Remember newspapers? Well today if you’re not up on the latest scoop, no need to read…search the hashtag on IG and get filled in instantaneously with lots of photo evidence and MEMES. Speaking of which, does anyone remember what life was like before we got the tea from The Shade Room and Baller Alert? Since celebs are online, accounts like these make it their business to be all up in your fave’s beeswax…this much tea was also unheard of. We had to mind our business back in the day. Thinking of the perfect Instagram caption? Anecessary life skill now. And last, but certainly not least, remember when you could breakup with your boy/girlfriend without having to breakup with them online too? Yep, life was definitely different. Do you think it’s better or worse now?

Stephanie Pratt Bikini of the Day

Stephanie Pratt out here waiting for someone from the Hills to call her….you know because the revival has happened with Mischa Barton on board…because MTV has lost their fucking minds trying to find ways to resonate with the youth….realizing that was once the voice of the youth, is outdated shit and the only people who care about MTV are in their 40s…which is convenient for Steph Pratt…Spencer’s sister…because she’s in her 40s and people in their 40s or older would be the only ones who think she’s hot. Aging…it is disgusting. It’s terrifying…even when the woman isn’t fat, it’s still miserable…a shadow of what she once was…a glimpse…maybe she smells the same as she once did…her scent..but everything else about her is just rotten…fucking rotten. Steph Pratt…went from being a third tier member of the HILLS to the UK…where she had a second life…while America forgot her…she was able to find her market….and she is doing the bikini thing as whores do. The Bachelor Season Finale, Part 1: What Did Colton Do?!?

Colton Underwood promised to be a different Bachelor this season, coming into the season as a virgin. (It's true! He had never had sex before! Not sure if the show had mentioned that at all.) And, in the end, Underwood lived up to this promise. He made an unusual decision on part one Season 23 finale, breaking down in tears often and taking both viewers and Chris Harrison aback. Like, way aback. For what reason? What did Colton decide? Scroll down for all the delicious details! 1. Cassie or Bust! As nearly all Internet users knew heading into the finale, Colton lost it a week prior after Cassie said she didn’t love him and wanted to go home. He jumped a fence and disappeared into the night, leaving Chris Harrison and company confused and in a panic. 2. Quote of the Century? “We called back to Los Angeles… and we woke up other executive producers and executives and said, ‘This is what’s happening. What do we do?’ and they said, ‘At some point, you’re gonna have to call the authorities,'” Harrison said on air of Colton bolting. “Luckily as we were about [to call the cops], someone’s walkie talkie clips.” (Ummmm… you were gonna call the cops and say what?!? A grown man was walking outside by himself? Please help?) 3. I’m F-cking Done! When finally tracked down by producers on the finale, Colton told Harrison that he was “done” with the show because Cassie’s rejection reminded him that he is “not enough.” 4. What About Tayshia and Hannah G? You know, the two women remaining on the finale? Colton said they were cool and all and he was maybe falling in love with them — but he was ALREADY in love with Cassie. And he wanted to fight for her! 5. Sorry, Ladies So Colton went out and made history: he dumped both of the women remaining! He chose to enter part two of the finale (airing on Tuesday night) with zero suitors because his heart was set on winning Cassie back. 6. How Did Tayshia Take It? Very well. She wasn’t happy about Colton’s decision, but she also said some nice things about The Bachelor before leaving Portugal. View Slideshow

Jed Allan Dies; Veteran Soap Opera Star Was 84

Jed Allan, a long-time soap opera star who also appeared on many episodes of Beverly Hills, 90210 as the father of one of the show’s main cast members, died on Saturday night. He was 84 years old. The actor’s son Rick Brown broke the sad news on Saturday with a moving Facebook post on a fan page dedicated to his dad. “So sorry to post the very sad news of my father’s passing tonight,” Brown wrote to followers, adding simply: “He died peacefully and was surrounded by his family and loved so much by us and so many others.” The cause of death is unknown at this time. Allan was likely best known for his starring roles as Don Craig on Days of Our Lives and C.C. Capwell on Santa Barbara; at least among fans of daytime drama. Others may remember him best for his role plasying Steve Sanders’ dad, Rush Sanders, on Beverly Hills, 90210, the iconic Fox series on which Luke Perry also starred. (Perry, of course, died last week of a stroke at the age of 52.) In a touching tribute his fictional father, Ian Ziering shared a photo of the pair smiling together as their father-son characters. And he wrote the following as a caption: “So sad to hear we’ve lost another 90210 classmate. I had the pleasure of working with Jed Allan from 94 to 99. He played Rush Sanders, Steve’s father. Such a great guy to work with, he will be missed.” Across a career than spanned six decades, Allan also appeared on shows such as Lassie, Columbo, Adam-12, Love, American Style, CHiPs and many, many others. In another tribute, soap opera star A. Martinez, who shared a screen with Allan on Santa Barbara, remembered the actor for his “fearless” workthis link opens in a new tab as well as his “generous support” over the years. This is what Martinez wrote to honor Allan: Jed was a pro’s pro in every sense, and an inspired artist in the moments when the red lights came on — he was fearless, and his work moved millions. I first met him in the early seventies, when his son Mitch Brown and I were cast mates on the TV series, The Cowboys. With his effervescent wife Toby at his side, he quietly asked me to keep a watchful eye out for Mitch, as it was his first gig. Jed was already a star by then, and he was as warm and articulate and charming as anyone I’d ever met. A decade later, when he came to Santa Barbara, the show finally began to find its eventually glorious stride. I LOVED working with him, as did everyone else who got the chance. Years later, he visited me backstage during the difficult run of a play I was doing — offered typically generous support — and then spoke of the loss of Toby, the love of his life, who had passed away shortly before, with literally no warning. (It was hard to imagine a human being missing another more…) In my dream, the two of them are dancing together again tonight — a great comfort to all who’ve known and loved them over the years. Condolences now to their wonderful sons, and gratitude to Jed for his unerring joy in the telling of stories, and for offering always the embrace of his massive heart. Jed is survived by his three sons from his marriage to Brown, who died in 2001. May he rest in peace. View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Died in 2019: In Memoriam

Colin Hanks Just Shared the Coolest Luke Perry Story Ever

In the wake of  Luke Perry’s tragic death on Monday, countless celebrities have paid tribute to the last star. Each has been legitimate and heartfelt, of course, but most have also simply rundown the same sentiments of sadness and shock. This is why Colin Hanks and the story he has shared on Instagram truly stands out. The actor has found a way to not only honor what sort of man Perry was… … but also to make followers laugh out loud and to realize that Perry was just as cool in real life as he was while portraying Dylan McKay on Beverly Hills, 90210. “I only met him once but the story is too good not tell given todays sad events,” Hanks wrote late yesterday, teasing the incredible tale he was about to share. He then dove right into it as follows: “My wife and I are on a plane back from Mexico. Couple of rows ahead of us, these two brothers, young kids, are beating the hell out of each other. Their poor parents are powerless to stop the crying, yelling and screaming. “If you’re a parent you understand. Sometimes there’s nothing you can do. It was like this for close to two hours.” Yup. We’ve certainly been there. Go on, Colin… Then about 10 minutes before landing it starts to get real bad. Out of no where, a man comes from first class. Hat, beard, sunglasses, blowing up a balloon. He ties it off, hands it off like he’s holding out a sword to a king. Kneeling, Head down, arms up. Kids calm down in milliseconds. Plane damn near bursts into applause. 15 minutes longer and it probably would have started WWIII, but we landed before that could happen. As we post Hanks’ story about Perry, we’re also gonna post a few more stories about Perry that have gone viral in the day since his passing. For instance: Back to Hanks now, though: We get off the plane, are waiting on line in customs. Finally get a good look at the guy and I say to my wife “Holy shit. I think that balloon man/hero” is Luke Perry”. As luck would have it we end up standing next to each other. And now another amazing story about Perry: Again, back to Hanks: Out of the blue he turns to me and says some kind words about Fargo, which kinda blew my mind. I start singing his praises about how long I’ve admired him and also about the move with the balloon. ” That’s a pro move! You can’t teach that!” I say. He tells me he always flies with a couple of balloons for that very reason, to give to screaming kids. Don’t know if that’s true, but have no reason to believe it wasn’t. And now another incredible story about Perry: This is how Hanks concluded his message: Guy seemed like a true gent. Gone way too damn soon. Also, I’ll be damned if I don’t start traveling with some spare balloons. Wow, right? Just…. wow. It’s sad any time we lose an icon, someone whose career made us smile or cry or simply sit up in appreciation. But it really does sound like we lost an original in Luke Perry. Just an all-around great and decent and awesome guy. Here’s a look at what others stars have said about him: View Slideshow: Luke Perry: Mourned, Remembered by Co-Stars and Friends

MODEL MONDAY: Muslim Model Leah Vernon Is Body Positive Without Baring It All

Visit link:

Photo Credit: KD Photo London Name: Leah Vernon IG: @lvernon2000  Agency: Seeking Representation Claim To Fame: Not only has she been in ads on two continents Vernon has been featured in Cosmo , Buzzfeed , Yahoo Style , and The Detroit Free Press for her fashion sense and activism. When Leah Vernon was growing up in Michigan admiring the women presented as the height of beauty on the glossy pages of magazines, she had no idea she would one day be among them. The plus-size model, author, body-positive activist, and Muslim feminist didn’t see a clear path to the spotlight for a person who looked like her. “I was never represented so I thought it was impossible to be a model,” she told Hello Beautiful in an exclusive interview. “They would be thin and white with the long straight hair like you know really skinny very high fashion, and there wasn’t anybody who looked like me doing it.” The media taught her that “my body doesn’t fit the standards,” but that did little to restrain her “obsession” with the fashion industry. She wanted in and if being on the catwalk wasn’t an option, she would look to the other careers displayed during the hours and hours of television programming she was consuming on the now defunct Style Network . Photo Credit: Eric Puschak “I was like okay I’ll never be a model , so I’ll style skinny people and that’s the only way I’ll be able to be in the industry is by being behind the scenes.” A Detroit native with a noticeably eclectic style Vernon was ready to apply her ability to study and interpret trends to styling. She kept up to date “by looking at fashions in Europe or fashion in New York.” She said “I was heavy into Gwen Stefani at the time and the whole punk culture. I took inspirations from a little bit of everywhere.” She felt boxed out professionally, but social media and the rise of blogging introduced her to a way she could strike a pose for fun. Writing was cathartic and shooting was a way to express her creativity. “I did two photos shoots just for fun because I wanted to be a blogger, and I discovered the hashtag #plussizemodel. I was like there’s real plus size models out in these streets? So, and then I was like I’m gonna do two photoshoots and see what happens.” Photo Credit: Mike Edmonds What happened was thousands of women who also didn’t see themselves represented flocked to the images Vernon posted. As she became more transparent and connected to her body and spirit, they became more interested.  As of publication Vernon has amassed more than 40,000 Instagram followers by simply being herself. “So, after that I kind of just like fell in love with what modeling meant or what it actually means which is showcasing beauty . I just started modeling and posting on Instagram and talking about cool shit and people started fucking with me.” She explained that her friend’s deception actually led to her first gig. “My friend actually ended up tricking me into modeling the third time she was like ‘Can you come to the store and style my models?’ I was like ‘Fo sho!’ So, I get there, and I bring all my shit and I said, ‘Where are the models?’ She’s like ‘You ARE the model.” Afterwards, she applied her stylish instincts to dressing in a way that aligned with her faith on and off the set. She maintains that she is “just as Muslim without” her hijab but after exploring what it meant to her, she decided to observe the tradition. “It took a long time for me to figure out what the hijab meant to me and it’s definitely a choice. I’ve come to terms with it. The hijab reflects who I am whether I wear it or not I’m still Muslim and its definitely not oppressive to me. It’s actually like my crown and I rock it hard.” Photo Credit: Victoria Kaempfe Like other modern Muslim women, she has found a way to express her style with her hijab, but no number of sequins or other adornments will stop people from having their opinions about the practice. “Some people it doesn’t matter what you do to a hijab they’re still going to be offended by it because hijab means oppression to them for whatever reason even though they’ve never talked to an actual hijabi before,” lamented Vernon. But as a grown woman who has found her place and makes her own choices , she isn’t intimidated by others’ prejudices.“People are going to say what the fuck they want to say about what you’re wearing so you might as well wear what you want to wear.” Photo Credit: Eric Puschak Interest in her style has prompted productive dialogues in the media and on her website Beauty and The Muse about femininity, individualism, sisterhood , and self-image.  Her DMs are full of people wanting to know more about her decision. She can’t connect personally with each person but she encourages those she can to make their own choices and come to their own conclusions. “You definitely meet a lot of people who just are curious about it. So, it’s been cool to educate about it.” While she’s glad to be able to educate people it’s not always comfortable for her to do so in professional settings. “When I do ads a lot of people are not necessarily hip to Islam or what exactly my limitations are as a model. I was on set recently and I took off my hijab to put on another hijab that matched the outfit and this girl was like ‘You look cute. Why don’t you just model like that?’ and I was just like ‘I can’t do that I’m Muslim’ and she was like ‘I guess.’ It’s hard to not be offended sometimes.” It’s even harder in an adolescent body positivity movement straying further and further away from the roots that drew Vernon into the space. Once a force that threatened the ideal of visual hierarchy the community that overthrew the supremacy of Victoria’s Secret has now been infiltrated by quests for engagement that often include baring it all. “I’m not throwing shade, but I feel like some of them are doing that not necessarily for body positivity they’re doing it for likes and engagement,” said Vernon of the behavior that led Allison McGevna to ask if “plus size bodies can only be recognized and celebrated” when they are sexualized in Plus Model Magazine . She has no problem with people making their own choices as long as they’re examined ones.“I want to see liberated bodies if they’re covered or not,” said Vernon. Fortunately, she can always look in the mirror. Black Woman Who Paid R. Kelly’s $100,000 Bail Receives Fake Bomb Threats At Daycare

View post:

Source: Scott Olson / Getty The Black woman who paid R. Kelly’s $100,000 bond claims she received numerous bomb threats to her Chicago daycare center. According to CBS-Chicago reporter Brad Edwards, police confirm that they got multiple calls on Sunday from Valencia P. Love saying they had received a bomb threat. Apparently, everyone was evacuated from the South Side facility, however a local bomb squad did not find any explosives. Police are still investigating these threats. ONLY HERE: Saturday, multiple people called in a bomb threat to a daycare near W. 79th & Kedzie. The business is connected to the woman who posted R. Kelly’s $100k bond. PER CPD – “No offender in custody. Bomb and arson cleared the scene. Area Central investigating.” @cbschicago pic.twitter.com/80AHAAGmv8 — Brad Edwards (@tvbrad) March 3, 2019 While Love, 47, is currently listed as a “registered agent” with the daycare under the Illinois Secretary of State, daycare personnel, as well as the Department of Children and Family Services, say Love no longer works at the daycare anymore, TMZ noted . SHUT HER DOWN. pic.twitter.com/4ZobPfYpDk — kiki bryant (@uppitykiki) February 26, 2019 Apparently, she lost her job after news of Love went viral last week, linking her to the daycare center. Love posted Kelly’s bail last week, telling Chicago reporter Tia Ewing , that she does not believe the singer, who she has only known for a few months, is not a monster. “He’s my friend and I knew he needed help,” she told Ewing. “There are three sides to every story, his side, there’s [the alleged victims], and the truth.” Love confirmed that she had paid the singer’s bond, but wouldn’t disclose where the money came from. “It wasn’t my money. I’m not going to say whose money it is.” As we previously reported , Kelly was released from jail last Monday after being arrested “and charged with 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse involving four victims, three of whom were minors.” The allegations date back to 1998 and span more than a decade. Kelly could face up to 70 years in prison if found guilty on these charges. RELATED NEWS: UPDATE: R. Kelly Makes Bail After Spending Weekend In Jail Y’all, Another Sex Tape Of R. Royal Parenting: Meghan Markle Reportedly Says She’s Raising Kid With ‘Fluid” Approach To Gender

Source: Pool/Samir Hussein / Getty Sources Say She Wants To Avoid Gender Stereotypes Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are reportedly taking an approach to parenting that gives their child more leeway with their gender expression. The pair recently had their baby shower , and rumors say the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are having a baby boy. However, according to Vanity Fair , the two are trying to move away from gender stereotypes no matter the sex of the baby. A source close to the couple said that Meghan told at least one friend that they want to nurture their kid with a more fluid approach to gender. “Meghan has been talking to some of her friends about the birth and how she and Harry plan to raise their baby. Her exact word was ‘fluid,’” the source told Vanity Fair. The future parents are already sticking to their values, according to sources. They reportedly have a gender-neutral nursery with whites and grays over the typical pink vs. blue color schemes. Their gender fluid approach to raising their kid could mean various things in the future. It could be as simple as not forcing Barbie dolls on a girl or telling the boy they can only stick to one type of profession. Celebs like Kate Hudson and Angelina Jolie are already championing gender fluid ways of raising their kid. Hudson even went on Instagram to say she’s bringing up her kids “to feel free to be exactly who they want to be.” Some studies show positive effects too. According to a study in the Journal of Experimental Child Psychology , children enrolled in Sweden’s gender-neutral kindergarten system had more access to opportunities, which researcher predict could result in more success as adults. Of course, countries like Sweden differ drastically when it comes to things like healthcare , which could play a role in overall child access and success. But still, the report could still give major insight to the future well-being of kids.
