Cats Trailer Strikes Fear in the Hearts of Twitter

For reasons that no one can quite understand, Cats debuted its trailer this week. The star-studded ensemble cast includes the likes of Jennifer Hudson, Taylor Swift, and Dame Judi Dench. (And Idris Elba, and Sir Ian McKellen, and Rebel Wilson, and Jason Derulo … it's quite a list) The trailer for the film is nothing short of unnerving. A lot of people like the idea of human-cat hybrids – they appear across all sorts of fiction. But apparently a bunch of humanoid motion-capture cats who are the sizes of real cats is a little much. Twitter lost its mind, and the online responses are perhaps as entertaining as the trailer itself was unsettling. 1. Do you want to have nightmares? Because watching a bunch of familiar people play anthropomorphic cats who are also the size of real cats is a great way to have nightmares. 2. Oh no!! A lot of people were weirded out by seeing a furry Jigglypuff in Detective Pikachu (jiggly is a BALLOON Pokemon and, as such, should have been smooth). But that’s nothing compared to what’s happened to Dame Judi Dench here. 3. Same energy One of the best episodes of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and also one of the most memorable involves the gang putting on a deeply unsettling musical. But even the creepiness of the Nightman gets overshadowed by the horror of Cats. 4. The trailer needs some warnings Do not mix with marijuana, folks. We’re guessing that this could go for a number of other substances, too. 5. Wait …. what if they play it in theaters? Most of us watched the Cats trailer with some warning of what we were getting into, thanks to social media. Imagine being an innocent theater goer and then this deeply cursed trailer plays. 6. We really are in a golden age of horror films All clowns are vile, so it doesn’t take much to turn one into a horror villain. It takes true art to turn beloved cats into something this unnerving. Austen Kroll Explains How He Ended Up Boning Madison Lecroy in Colorado

A couple of months ago, Austen Kroll finally explained that weird viral video of him and his girlfriend, Madison Lecroy. Now, he’s shedding further insight into his on-again, off-again relationship. Sitting beside Craig Conover, he dishes on reuniting with Madison while on the group’s trip to Colorado. The pair of Southern Charm stars sat down with Us Weekly to discuss how all of that went down. “Were Madison and I talking?” Austen asks. “A little bit prior to the trip, yeah.” “But we hadn’t really seen each other much,” he admits. “So,” Austen confesses. “I was kind of nervous.” Hey, that’s understandable, especially after some previous hiccups in their relationship. Austen emphasizes that he was “excited to see her because we were going to be on a trip with our friends.” “So if we can’t act right here,” he reasons. “Then where can we act right?” What he means by that is that it’s a low-key, comfortable environment for them to spend time. “But everyone’s face,” Austen remarks. “I mean, for God’s sakes, it was like Ashley [Jacobs] just frikkin’ walked in the freaking room.” Now that would have been a sight. Craig admits that he and some of the others were just not sure how well Austen and Madison were going to do on the trip. “We didn’t know how it was gonna go,” he explains. Craig says that this is “because we didn’t know how secretive they were being, if they were still talking or not.” “And we were all kind of waiting for the moment that they saw each other,” he recalls. “Which was kind of goofy and made me laugh, but it was funny,” he describes. Austen and Madison got up to a little flirting in the hot tub, but fans didn’t see much more than that. He now confirms that he and his lady love “ended up in bed together.” But he still plays it coy when asked about where the two of them are at the moment, relationship-wise. “Honestly, there is so much more of the season left and a lot more happens,” Austen says. “And,” he opines. “I think you just need to watch and see how that all unfolds.” “But,” Austen teases. “You have most certainly not seen the last of Austen and Madison.” Craig was asked if he’s currently single or dating … and quickly got lost trying to define what either term means. “I don’t know what dating means,” Craig confesses. “Yeah, no, I mean, we are just having fun and traveling a lot and I met a few people recently and it’s been a lot of fun,” he acknowledges. “But just kind of talking,” Craig characterizes. “But no one’s coming to weddings with me, yet. …” “I feel like if I would have invited somebody to the wedding last week,” Craig assesses. “I would feel like he is kind of dating her.” Austen and Craig also open up about how it can be difficult to date as semi-celebrities. As we previously reported, the Chicago cop who killed Laquan McDonald , Jason Van Dyke, has been convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to 6 years and 9 months in prison. Today, we are happy to report that the cops who tried to help Van Dyke cover-up his murderous intent have all been fired from the Chicago Police Department according to NBCNews . Chicago’s superintendent of police, Eddie Johnson, in 2016 had recommended that Sgt. Stephen Franko and officers Ricardo Viramontes, Janet Mondragon and Daphne Sebastian be fired for violating rules of conduct after the shooting, according to the board’s decision released Thursday. Franko, who was the first on-scene supervisor in the October 2014 shooting, approved reports that “contained several demonstrable and known falsehoods,” including that Van Dyke was injured by the 17-year-old, who had been carrying a knife, the police board wrote in the decision. The other three officers, all of whom were on the scene, gave statements about the shooting, and the board found that “each of the three officers failed in their duty — either by outright lying or by shading the truth.” We kinda wish these cops would be charged criminally and imprisoned too because they definitely deserve it, but at LEAST they lost their jobs. Good riddance.

Ashley Martson: The GoFundMe for Jay Smith Was PURE FRAUD!

Earlier this month,  90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?  star  Jay Smith was arrested and placed in ICE custody  ahead of his deportation. The arrest was over violating a domestic violence protection order issued by his ex, Ashley Martson. Now, Ashley is clearing the air — and explaining that people who tried to “help” Jay fight deportation were lied to about what that money is for. “In regards to the GoFundMe…it was all lies,” Ashley Martson says to  Celebuzz . “The GoFundMe was made to pay for a criminal defense attorney to fight a PFA violation,” she explains. That is “not an immigration lawyer as the GoFundMe story led people to believe.” The GoFundMe set up for Jay has also said that the PFA violation charges were dropped. But Ashley says that this is just another lie. “She specifically states the charges were dropped for the PFA on the GoFundMe,” Ashley points out. “That was a total lie.” “We had court today,” she shares. “Where a judge found Jay guilty of violating the PFA.” Being found guilty of something is very different from the charge being dropped. “Everyone who donated money paid for an attorney to try and fight charges of abusing a woman,” Ashley explains. “Aot to save Jay from deportation.” Deportation, she points out, has been a foregone conclusion for Jay for some time, now. Ashley says that the stripper who set up Jay’s GoFundMe is also the girl whom he is currently dating. She also says that they started dating back in  January , which makes for a nauseating cheating timeline. “I just want this behind me,” Ashley expresses. “A PFA isn’t easy to acquire…” “If I did show the evidence people’s jaws would drop,” she promises. “It’s sad they don’t know the truth,” Ashley admits. “But I am not going to post it. It’s very disturbing.” Ashley doesn’t want to show the public evidence of domestic abuse — she showed it to the court, and that should be enough. “Jay will be deported,” Ashley predicts. “This takes quite some time.” “It could be a year until he will actually be deported,” she adds. “He had many chances to return home,” Ashley points out. “He knew he was here illegally.” Ashley explains that she wasn’t playing control games with Jay and the paperwork — he was the one toying with her heart. “As for people saying I held his status over his head, that’s not true,” Ashley emphasizes. She explains that “He knew I wasn’t willing to do the paperwork.” “Anyone who has a family and assets would never put all that on the line,” Ashley expresses. At least, not “for [someone] who used, abused, and constantly disrespected them.” Ashley has accused Jay of abuse. Alleged text messages shared by a 90 Day Fiance castmated appear to accuse Jay Smith of rape . His cheating was obnoxious, but it seems very clear that his toxic relationship with Ashley was much worse than viewers ever knew. Hopefully, the courts will do their job, and this will all be part of the past. In the mean time, we just wonder if any of these accusations will be touched upon at the Tell All special. Khloe Kardashian: I Will NEVER Hate Tristan Thompson!!

Khloe Kardashian just got super real on Instagram and we’re not so sure we’re here for it.  But the reality star is setting the record straight and explaining how she really feels about cheating ex Tristan Thompson … *deep breath* And even though the rest of the world hit cancel on the Cleveland  Cavaliers player back in February after one of the most backstabbing affairs ever , Khloe is choosing kindness and apparently, she is actually forgiving the guy.  After an Instagram user posted a side-by-side photo of Tristan Thompson with daughter True Thompson earlier this week, Khloe had a subtle yet very shocking response.  “I know Khloe hates Tristan, but Baby True [is] starting to look just like him,” read the post.  And on Wednesday, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians  low-key dissed the user. “Why would I ever hate anyone who helped create such an angel?” she wrote in the comments section.  “People make mistakes, but I won’t hurt my own healing by holding on to hate.” “I’m too busy raising my  beautiful baby and securing that [money] to hate any individual,” she continued. “Sweet True has always looked like her daddy. She’s beautiful!!”  The fan  acknowledged that he heard her defensive message loud and clear — as we all did!  But just in case some people were still confused by why the heck Khloe is out here sticking up for Tristan, she took to her Instagram Stories to further explain.  “Hate no one, no matter how much they’ve wronged you,” her message read. “Live humbly, no matter how wealthy you become. Think positively, no matter how hard life is.” “Give much, even if you’ve been given little,” she continued. “Forgive all, especially yourself.” “And never stop praying for the best for everyone.” In addition to her choosing kindness  initiative , she also shared a few words from author Anthony Douglas Williams. “We are here to heal, not harm,” the post read. “We are here to love, not hate. We are here to create, not destroy.”  The Good American owner and the NBA star broke up earlier this year after his numerous counts of  infidelity , one being with her sister’s BFF ( you all know how that story goes), but now it seems Khloe is taking the high road. We don’t know what to think, but I guess for baby True’s sake we are proud of Khloe’s selfless decision.  And yeah, yeah love always wins.  She and Tristan have remained somewhat civil with one another and are also doing a pretty good job at co-parenting True.  Tristan even bought a house close to the Kardashian sister so he could spend more time with their daughter.  Back in May Khloe discussed the situation saying, “It does f–king suck because our personal emotions are still in there.” “So those emotions can be heightened at times, but I do everything in my power –True is 1 and, like, a month old, so she doesn’t really know what’s happening,” she explained. “But to me she does know and she feels energy and I’m a big believer of that.” “I do everything in my power to not put just any sort of heavy energy around her,” the Kardashian continued. “Maybe that sounds a little too bohemian to some people,” Khloe finished.  You do you, Khlo! Ben Higgins is Confused by All the Hannah Brown Sex Stuff

Ben Higgins says he has a few questions for Hannah Brown. And they all center around two rather important topics: 1. Religion. 2. Sex. We’ve suddenly got your attention, don’t we? During a podcast discussion on Tuesday with Bachelor Nation’s Courtney Robertson, Higgins honed in on how open Brown has been during this season of The Bachelorette about the pair of subject cited above. She has talked often about both her faith and, to be frank, her f-cking. We’re not being crass here. Hannah literally told the camera that she “f-cked” one of her suitors in a windmill. Twice. “One thing that I think Hannah is doing that is a little bit confusing is … she’s saying things like, ‘We all fall short and we need God’s grace,’” the former Bachelor lead said to Robertson, adding that he isn’t certain how to square Hannah’s fondness for sex with her belief in Jesus Christ. Or is she owning it and saying, ‘I’m confident in my decision to do this?’ “Because there are two different things that are happening … and that’s the one part that is confusing me with Hannah.” Facing backlash from Christian trolls who have dared to sex-shame her online, Brown fired back this summer as follows: “I am standing firm in believing that maybe God wants to use a mess like me to point to His goodness and grace. But dang, it’s hard… “We all fall short of the glory of God…we just happen to do it on national television.” What Higgins seems to be saying here is that Hannah wants to have it both ways. She wants to admit to falling “short” when it comes to her religion, implying that her goal is to please the Almighty — while also standing up for herself as a sexually active single person who just wants to get herself some D . We never thought The Bachelorette would cause folks to debate religion and how one ought to balance one’s love for God with one’s love for making love… but here we are. Higgins went on to claim that the one thing that he thinks Hannah has “not done well” is say one thing on air, but then jump on social media and make posts towards Luke that are “counterintuitive.” Indeed, ousted suitor Luke Parker and Hannah finally went at each other this past Monday night. But they did so with their clothes fully on , as Parker came right out and said he wanted off the show if Hannah had slept with any other contestant. He did all he could to guilt trip Hannah for her sexual actions, acting as if he owned her and as if she had done something wrong by getting her bang on with these other eligible fellas. “I have had sex, and, honestly, Jesus still loves me,” Hannah said to Luke to put a capper on their epic argument . “@AlabamaHannah The difference in how we view sin is seen in the response, I’m weeping at mine and you’re laughing at yours. All sin stings. My heart hurts for both of us,” Luke later Tweeted, which sparked a reaction from Brown as follows: Time and time again jesus loved and ate with ‘sinners’ who laughed. and time and time again he rebuked ‘saints’ that judged. where do you fall Luke? According to reports from TMZ , a Massachusetts judge recently tossed out the disgraced actor’s case “due to the unavailability of the complaining witness.” Spacey was facing criminal charges of indecent assault and battery in connection to a July 2016 incident, in which he allegedly groped a then-18-year-old boy. This latest development in the case doesn’t come as a complete surprise. Many suspected that the charges against the 59-year-old would be dropped after the accuser refused to testify at a pre-trial hearing earlier this month. The alleged victim decided to invoke his Fifth Amendment right, not answering any questions about his missing cellphone that allegedly contained text messages proving Spacey’s innocence. The accuser dropped his civil suit against the actor about two weeks ago. When the alleged assault took place, Spacey was accused of buying the teen alcoholic drinks before sticking his hands down the his pants and grabbing his genitals. The former House of Cards star denied the allegations, which were first made public in 2017, and pleaded not guilty to the charges back in January. Even though this case is being thrown out, Kevin Spacey remains under investigation for other alleged sexual assaults that are said to have taken place in both Los Angeles and England.

Vivica A. Fox: Farrah Abraham Tried to Fight Me! I Would Whup Her Ass!

Vivica A. Fox is opening up for the first time about a memorable encounter with Farrah Abraham. It seems the actress and the reality star very nearly came to blows after Farrah's appearance on Fox's short-lived talk show Face the Truth. As you may recall, Farrah submitted to a drug test during her appearance on the show, and … we think it's safe to say she diidn't receive the results she had hoped for. Farrah tested positive for barbiturates, and it's anyone's guess as to how that's possible. We were pretty sure they stopped giving those things out around the time Elvis croaked in that gas station bathroom. Anyway, Farrah claimed the test was fake, and apparently she absolutely lost her sh-t backstage and accused Fox of setting her up. “Farrah, Farrah, Farrah,” Fox said in response to a caller's question. “She was in huge denial to be very honest with you, she was pissed at us. And she thought that we had tainted her drug test,” the actress continued. “I was like, 'Yeah so someone else went and peed in your cup and we just brought it out here.' And so, it was sad.” Meddling with drug tests isn't the sort of activity talk show hosts usually engage in, so Vivica was understandably peeved at the accusation. But as usual, no one was more pissed off than Farrah, who apparently got so pissed she attempted to get physical with Farrah. “And then she said she wanted to fight me so I was like, 'You know I trained for 'Kill Bill' right?'” Fox continued. “[Abraham] tried to knock out a water bottle and her thumb was out with the punch. So bad.” We're 100 percent Team Vivica on this one, but is she aware that Kill Bill came out 16 years ago, and she gets her ass handed to her in her only fight scene? Again, Farrah is wholly ridiculous, but so is that thing where actors think they're badass simply because they once played a badass. Just sayin'. To her credit, Fox ended things on a positive note, saying: “But you know I pray for Farrah and I hope she gets better especially because she's got a young daughter.” We all hope that — but there's really no point in wishing Farrah well. Like a toddler, once she decides she hates you, she's remarkably good at sticking to her guns.

The Bachelorette Spoilers: Who Does Hannah Bang in the Fantasy Suite?

Our apologies to those who may have found that headline a bit crass. And to those who want to avoid Bachelorette spoilers . But folks – it’s fantasy suites week, which means it’s time to send the kids to bed and get straight down to business. Last week, Hannah was introduced to her finalists’ friends and families. (Or in the case of Luke P., a bunch of people he paid off to pretend he’s a decent human being.) Anyway, meeting the parents is great and all, but this week, she’ll make her acquaintance of an even more important influence in the life of her fiance-to-be. It’s a figure who looms (hopefully) large and probably makes many important decisions on her future husband’s behalf. We’re talking, of course, about his ding-a-ling. Now, if you’ve been keeping up with our Bachelorette spoilers , then you already know who receives Hannah’s final rose. But that doesn’t mean he’ll be the only one who gets her flower, if you know what we mean. (If you’d prefer to be surprised, read no further, because we’re about to get all spoiler-y up in here.)   Okay, so now that all the info-phobes have tossed their phones into the nearest body of water, it’s time to tell you that Kevin Spacey was dead the whole movie, and Bruce Willis was Keyser Soze. Just a little spoiler humor! But seriously, folks, we’ve known for quite some time that Luke P. gets sent home in large part because he slut-shamed Hannah  for having sex with one of the other guys. So that’s double good news: Hannah takes at least one finalist to pound town, and it’s not Luke P. We also know that Jed Wyatt proposes to Hannah in the finale , and she accepts. It was later revealed that Wyatt had a girlfriend waiting at home while filming the show, and Hannah has reportedly kicked him to the curb as a result. But that’s a separate issue entirely. During the filming of tonight’s fantasy suite episode, Hannah was still very much smitten with Jed. And so, when previews for the episode revealed that Hannah has sex with someone in a windmill, it was widely believed to be Wyatt. But according to spoiler master Reality Steve, that’s not the case . “In Monday’s episode, you’ll see that Peter is Windmill Sex guy,” Reality Steve writes. “And there is a condom in the room that they joke about since he was the one that had it in the console of his car.” Yes, Peter Weber is the guy who goes full Don Quixote and thrusts his lance in a windmill. (Sorry, we couldn’t resist.) (We’re not ruling out the possibility that Hannah bangs Jed as well, but Peter was the infamous Windmill Guy.) So, that’s where we stand heading into tonight, and given what we know about Jed, that may seem like a bit of a bummer. After all, Peter was a fan favorite from the start, and poor Hannah wound up with a dude who was secretly in a relationship. So in a way, we guess today’s revelation that Peter also had a secret girlfriend is bittersweet. Basically, Hannah would’ve wound up with a cheater regardless. The long and short of it? Founder Of Louisiana African-American Museum Found Dead In Trunk Of Car

Source: The Washington Post / Getty The founder of an African-American Museum in Baton Rouge, LA has been found dead in the trunk of a car three miles from her home. Sadie Roberts-Joseph , 75, was mysteriously found Friday (July 12)  CNN reports. Her cause of death is still unknown. Text “RICKEY” to 71007 to join the Rickey Smiley Morning Show mobile club for exclusive news.  ( Terms and conditions ). Roberts-Joseph was dedicated to giving back to the Baton Rouge community. She founded the Odell S. Williams Now and Then African American Museum in 2001 where many events are held including an annual Juneteenth celebration. Roberts-Joseph had also founded her own nonprofit,  Community Against Drugs and Violence,  which was dedicated to making the Baton Rouge streets safer for children. “Ms. Sadie was a tireless advocate of peace in the community,” the Baton Rouge police department said in a Facebook post. “Ms. Sadie is a treasure to our community, she will be missed by BRPD and her loss will be felt in the community she served.” Sadie Roberts-Joseph, 75, an activist and founder of an African-American museum in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was found dead in the trunk of a car.
