‘American Idol’ finalist talks about his whirlwind romance and wedding plans. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Matt Elias Paul McDonald Photo: MTV News Earlier this month, “American Idol” contestant Paul McDonald and “Twilight” star Nikki Reed used the MTV Movie Awards as the perfect opportunity to take their engagement public, only months after they began dating. When MTV News caught up with McDonald at the “American Idol” season 10 tour press day in Los Angeles, the singer opened up about planning the big day. “Well, yeah, I’m not allowed to say too, too much about that stuff, but it’s going good,” he dished. “I love her to death.” While outside observers may have felt that the two were rushing to the altar, McDonald says that they fell in love at first sight, which was even more surprising for him. “She’s amazing. It’s kind of one of those things you don’t expect,” he said. “Like, last year I never would have thought I’d be getting married. She’s amazing. She’s the perfect girl. We fit each other; when you know you know and she’s the one.” His gushing sentiments about the actress seem to mirror ones she’s shared about him. Shortly after announcing their engagement, she reportedly told E! News, “He’s the one. He’s the one.” For now, McDonald is on the road with his fellow Idols through September, giving him enough time to nail down who he wants to get to sing at his reception, whenever that should take place. “Oh, I told Jacob Lusk he’s going to sing at my wedding and my funeral,” he joked. “Who knows? Maybe we’ll get the whole ‘Idol’ crew to be wedding singers. Maybe we’ll get Adam Sandler.”
In an interview with iVillage , Khloe Kardashian admitted that when she first met Lamar Odom, it was hardly love at first sight. Khloe says “It was typical. ‘There has to be some kind of moment where you feel a different energy around someone,’ the ‘Water for Elephants’ star tells MTV News. When MTV News caught up with Pattinson to discuss his latest project, “Water for Elephants,” the topic turned to whether he believes in love at first sight. His “Elephants” character, Jacob, goes through something similar when he experiences an instant attraction and connection to Marlena (Reese Witherspoon) . “I think people can [fall in love at first sight],” said the 24-year-old star, who has been romantically linked in real life to his “Twilight” co-star Kristen Stewart . “I think pretty much all people who love each other, had some kind of thing at first sight,” he continued. “I mean, there has to be some kind of moment where you, like, feel a different energy around someone.” RPattz went on to make the argument that, “Generally, if you don’t notice someone ever, you’re probably not going to fall in love with them.” In other words, Robert Pattinson probably doesn’t believe in too many romantic comedies! But if you’re still hoping a simple run-in with Pattinson will make for a love match, there’s something you should probably know about him: He has some strange habits where his lips are concerned. During our “love at first sight” chat, Pattinson got distracted and wondered aloud, “Oh, why do I always have stuff on my lip?!” After mimicking licking his lips, the actor said this sort of thing happens “like, constantly!” Pattinson then joked that the lip thing was a reoccurring problem during every interview he’d had while promoting “Water for Elephants” over the weekend. “If I keep my mouth closed for 20 seconds, my lips [get] stuck together,” RPattz complained. Apparently Rielle Hunter has the green light to start blabbing about John Edwards and their torrid love affair, because GQ has a feature on her in its new issue. A feature showing Edwards’ mistress – a woman of “serenity and spunk” – trying hard to look sexy and, fittingly, given what she’s known for, wearing no pants. The John Edwards sex tape participant and mother of the love child he denied was his for two years certainly is captivating, albeit for all the wrong reasons. So he knocked up Rielle, had Andrew Young take the fall and may have used campaign funds to cover it up because he was scared of his wife. Makes perfect sense. She continues: “It’s beyond difficult to allow a man to be a man.” “The biggest mistake that I find is that women attempt to make men women. You know, we want them to be like we are. We want them to get it immediately and do things the way that we want them to do them. And men are men.” “I love him for being a man.
