Grammy Nominee Andra Day Launches New Program With Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, And Essence Festival Andra Day celebrated the launch of the Rise Up ESSENCE® Festival program in Times Square. As part of the program, the vocalist and the lyrics of her single, “Rise Up” and the film ‘I Rise’ are featured on close to 40 million Coca-Cola cups in select McDonald’s restaurants across the nation. McDonald’s, Coca-Cola, and ESSENCE® Festival have partnered with the app, Shazam to feature new visual-recognition technology for content distribution. Each cup becomes a portal to an exclusive digital experience where music enthusiasts can scan the specially marked Coca-Cola cups and watch the short film, ‘I Rise’ which features music by Andra. Additionally, Andra Day is performing on the main stage at this year’s ESSENCE® Festival in New Orleans June 30-July 3. And you can have a shot to get tickets when you purchase Coca-Cola fountain products at McDonald’s restaurants. Customers they will learn how to enter the Coca-Cola Rise Up ESSENCE® Fest Sweepstakes* for a chance to see her perform at. Tyga finally went on record and cleared up some of the rumors surrounding his controversial relationship with Kylie Jenner. Actually, he didn't clear up a whole lot. But the 26-year-old definitely did discuss his girlfriend during an interview with 106 KMEL's Shay Diddy. In one of the more probing questions, the host brought up the issue of Tyga dating Kylie when she was only 17 . Shay clearly didn't want to antagonize her guest, so instead of asking what we're all thinking, which is of course, “What's up with you banging a minor, ya nasty perv?” she went easy on the rapper. “Last year when everybody had an issue because of that age difference, how did you handle that?” she asked. Tyga hemmed and hawed for some time, then finally just took off on a random, nonsensical rambling word spree. “I dunno because it's like, it's kinda hard to really talk about that because, I mean, you know people are gonna bash… I didn't understand it, though, coz I'm like, this person is a really good person.” What didn't he understand? That dating a minor is, ya know, considered statutory rape in the eyes of the law? Clearly stumped by the question, he went ahead and brought God into it. “It's almost like the devil keep trying to like tell me something and not like follow God and not like, just let God do what he wanna do.” Soooo, he hit on a 17-year-old because God told him to? And the devil advised him NOT to? Nice wingman, that God. Wonder if God coached him when writing the lyrics to “Bouncin' on My Dick”? Tyga did the interview to promote his new single, “Baller Alert,” although we're not sure who the song is about, because the last we heard the rapper was broke and getting evicted . Grammy Producer Says Taylor Swift Knew About Kanye’s Lyrics Looks like Taylor Swift is a “fake azz” after all. As you may know, Taylor stole won the Grammy for Album Of The Year — and used the opportunity to shade Kanye West and his clearly comical lyric about smashing her because he made her famous on his new album — even though Kanye had already clarified to the public that they had a whole discussion about it and she gave the okay for the line. While many suspected that Kanye was lying, at least one person was able to inadvertently back him up. Entertainment Tonight caught up with Grammy producer Ken Ehrlich, who mentioned in passing that Taylor knew all about the song, and even had an advanced copy on her hands: Well, apparently someone in Taylor’s camp called Ken up and made a few threats, because next thing you know, he popped back up with a retraction of his previous statement: “Regarding my statement at the Grammys about Taylor, I misunderstood what she had told me. Under the pressure of rehearsals, rather than say that she was aware of the song, I said she had heard a track when in fact she had not and and what she said to me didn’t imply that at all.” So under the pressure of rehearsals he…hallucinated an entire scenario? Kanye West Says He Didn’t Mean To Diss Ray J On New Song Yesterday, we reported that Kanye West had reportedly fired shots at his wife’s sex-tape partner Ray J on a new track off his latest album. According to TMZ reports, Yeezy claims he reached out to Ray before releasing the song and meant no hard by the diss. We’re told Kanye ran into Brandy and they talked face-to-face, he asked her to tell her brother he meant no harm or disrespect by the lyrics … he said is was pure fun and he was not talking trash about Ray J’s bank account. In addition, Kanye’s rep contacted Ray J’s manager, David Weintraub, to reaffirm the message. As for how Ray J received it, we’re told he’s cool with both Kanye and Kim and appreciates Kanye reaching out. Kanye claims the lyrics was all in fun but how long is he going to rap about his wife banging other guys? Ray J has happily moved on since his relationship with Kim Kardashian and is still laughing all the way to the bank to prove it.
