Blue Power Ranger Reveals He Quit Show ‘Over Gay Insults’

David Yost, who played nerdy triceratops commander Billy on the ’90s kids show Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers , revealed that he left the series because he was “called ‘f*ggot’ one too many times [by the show’s] creators, producers, writers, directors.” He added that he became “worried that I might take my own life.” Sad. Arguably, if Yost had come out with this confessional during the run of the show, some of Rita Repulsa’s most destructive anti-gay initiatives could have been derailed. [ TMZ ]

New Piranha 3D Video is Not Afraid to Take on the Oscars, After All

Last week, when a fairly funny “For Your Consideration” ad for Piranha 3D hit the internet and then promptly had several of its jokes snipped, some speculated that the Weinstein Co. was afraid of Oscar blowback (thought I’m guessing they realized the four-minute clip was just too damn long?). Consider this the company’s rejoinder, then: a new Piranha viral video where Ving Rhames wins a Best Actor Oscar for the film, makes out with Elisabeth Shue, and throws shoes at Brad Pitt. Enjoy!

How to Talk Masturbation with Your Kids: A Guide From CBS, Mad Men and Movieline

Slllooowwww clap for CBS News, which today capitalized on Sunday’s controversial Mad Men episode in a most inspired and… well, godawful fashion. “What Can Mad Men Teach Parents About Childhood Masturbation?” reads an actual headline on a story posted today, followed by nuggets of professional wisdom to help vexed parents who’ve apparently never masturbated themselves get over the, er, hump. Let’s break it down scientifically — and through the application of Mad Men ‘s own child-rearing practices:

Mad Men: The Trouble with Sally [Recaps]

Adolescence is never easy and when you have a shitty mother like Betty Draper, it’s even worse. Don is also trying to bring his new firm into adulthood, but not without growing pains. It’s tough for those Mad Men kids. More

"I’ll Cut Your Fingers Off!’: Mad Men Recapped

The Japanese are coming! It should be cause for celebration at Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce, but instead served as the trigger for an epic orgy of scheming, loathing and throat-slashing agita — just the way we like our mid-season Mad Men . That it entitles Roger Sterling to some of his most historic one-liners is merely a bonus. Let’s break it down.

Forget James Bond: Robert Rodriguez Will Return With Machete Sequels

As Machete barrels toward its opening weekend with the same wafting smell of niche that ruined the Scott Pilgrim box office party, it seems a bit premature to start talk of a sequel. Or not. During a press junket for the film — which apparently teases such future titles as Machete Kills and Machete Kills Again in its end credits — director Robert Rodriguez all but confirmed that there will be more Machete movies in the future. Because if you can’t have another James Bond, why not more Machete instead?

Which Mad Men Dress is Christina Hendricks’s Favorite?

In a Newsweek Emmy roundtable , Christina Hendricks revealed that her favorite dress from Mad Men is the infamous purple dress with a pink sash from season one , a.k.a. “the Roger dress.” Said Hendricks: “I wore it in a scene in a scene with John Slattery in a hotel room, and I’m getting dressed and doing up this scene. I really liked that scene, so it stood out to me.” It also happens to be the dress used to outfit the unbearably fabulous Joan Holloway Barbie doll . [ ONTD , Project RunGay ]

Which Mad Men Emmy Rival Got NBC to Yank Jimmy Fallon’s Spoof Videos?

Can you be a sore loser before actually losing? Apparently! After NBC released a set of fairly amusing parody videos that showed Emmy host Jimmy Fallon channeling his inner Don Draper — complete with an appearance from Christina Hendricks — a network with a show nominated against the AMC drama got a bit peeved because the Emmy voting window is still open. The logic being that a spoof of Mad Men featuring the Late Night host could be enough to sway voters. Wait, what?
