Advice Advisory: When To Take Heed Of Others Help

Nobody knows it all, but some of us are more experienced in some areas than others. Whether its wisdom to due age, education, exposure or lessons learned, knowledge is power and when used appropriately it can change lives for the better. Yet, if it’s abused and taken for granted it can become your worst nightmare. As a society, especially women we’ve been taught to seek advice from trained professionals in areas that are considered important and worthy to succeed in such as education- counselors and college advisers where always on hand and available to help you navigate the rigorous road of taking needed courses and choosing a career that was perfect for your skills. Then once we received the education and began to make a little bit of money we are told to seek out a financial adviser to improve our money management and financial security longevity. For the most part, that type of advice has been helpful and profitable and worth the time and effort. Click Here To Read The Rest At MadameNoire.com

Don’t Be Thirsty: Signs It’s Time For You To Fall Back

There’s nothing wrong with letting a man know how you feel about him, it’s courageous; but discretion is key. I like to think there are three types of women, the ones who aren’t scared to put themselves out there, the ones who chase after men and then there’s a third category of women who strap on roller skates to catch up to men who are obviously running away from them. Confused or Stringing You Along: What’s Behind the Mixed Signals

One minute he acts as if he wants to be with you. The next minute he acts as if he barely knows you. The mixed signals are driving you one step away from turning into a Lifetime movie character. Why is he so confused? You consider all the reasons in your head (and with a little social network snooping) why he’s acting different. Is he really confused or is there someone else? What’s really behind the mixed signals? ‘They really don’t know what they want’ one of my girlfriends would often say in reference to the men she was dating. Each time she would make the statement, I would quickly respond with my usual ‘nope they don’t’; and let’s not forget the shake of the head in disgust that was usually accompanied by this response… ( Continue reading

Men And Marriage: Why They Are Scared Of The Shackle

Let’s get one thing clear from the jump: men not named George Clooney are not averse to marriage as an institution. The characters in black love flicks (often starring Taye Diggs or Omar Epps) might have folks convinced that men would rather be garroted in the scrotum before they settle down, but that’s not the case….we’re just really, really cautious about who gets the Magic Stick for life. I tried to think of at least five things that freak men out about getting hitched, but for me, it all fits under three umbrellas… Continued at MadameNoire.com

Is it Racist to Only Date Your Own Race

Physical attraction is very subjective, and I don’t think it’s much of a coincidence that, by and large, we’re attracted to our own kind. Nor do I think it’s a testament to racism. For example, many of you are not attracted to anyone that’s not a black man, for many reasons. Does that necessarily make you a bigot? Methinks not. Read More At Madamenoire.com

Ladies, Do You Have A Rebound Guy? Here Are The Rules

I must admit I do believe in the old saying “the best way to get over a man is to get another one!” Now before you get all upset and say you need to take time out for yourself and enjoy being single, let me tell you that I also totally agree. I don’t condone jumping from one relationship to another without any time off to reflect on what may have gone wrong or take a break from the mundane and enjoy the single life for a bit, but I am a firm believer that you should also have fun while doing so. So if you have recently broken up with your beau and need to get your mind off the whole breakup here are a few rules to follow to have fun with a rebound… Continued at MadameNoire.com

7 Ways You Can Tell Chivalry is Dead and Gone

You’ve probably heard someone say “chivalry is dead” thousands of time. And that individual was probably a disappointed woman. Not all men have forgotten the rules to being a gentleman (SEE! I’m not generalizing!), but many just don’t care anymore. Maybe it has something to do with the whole independent woman stance many of us have taken over the years. Perhaps some men think “if you’re so independent, then what do you need me to pay for dinner for?” And no, we’re definitely not meek and helpless, we can indeed do things for ourselves too. But it’s not like we’re asking men to bring us flowers everyday and recklessly paint our toenails, but just a little display of respect from time to time, showing off what I know your parents taught you, would be nice. Here are seven ways you know there needs to be some slow singing and flower bringing on behalf of our dear friend chivalry. Continued at MadameNoire.com

Black Child Actors That Are Succeeding…And Struggling

Being a child actor in Hollywood is no joke. Especially if you’re a black one. You can’t help that you’re eventually going to grow up and possibly not be as cute-as-a-button like you used to be. And once you try to cross into more adult roles (if you can find any) you might be criticized for raunchier portrayals. Check Out More At MadameNoire.com

The Seven Worst Places To Meet A Guy

Birds of a feather flock together and some men are bad just by association with particular locations. A book shouldn’t be judged entirely by its cover, but a few things should be taken into consideration. Men are drawn to different places for different reasons and most people are not the exception. So, if you’re in the market for a good guy, cut your losses (as much as possible) and avoid looking for love in these places… Continued at MadameNoire.com
