Gangster Squad Trailer: Pulled from Theaters in Face of Dark Knight Rises Massacre

In the wake of today’s horrific Dark Knight Rises shooting in Colorado, Warner Bros. has chosen to pull the trailer for another movie out of theaters. The preview for Gangster Squad , which has been online since May and is posted below, was NOT played prior to this morning’s Batman feature and has NOT been attached to most of The Dark Knight Rises screenings around the country. Still, one scene does depict mobsters opening fire inside a movie theater and, with the spot scheduled to start running nationwide this weekend, the studio thought it was inappropriate to air at such a time.

Joe Gendreau on The Bachelorette Elimination: Just Too Different From Emily

Joe Gendreau’s time to impress Emily Maynard expired this week. Reflecting on the non-love connection that earned him a rare one-on-one date boot on The Bachelorette Monday, he said it just didn’t work out. Nothing scandalous or incendiary about it. Just didn’t click. “I tried to keep the rose out of mind. I didn’t want to look at it as a challenge and be like, ‘I really want that rose,'” Gendreau said. “I wanted to see how my time was with her and entertain the idea of being able to hit it off with her.” “I thought it was going well, but ultimately didn’t work out. We really didn’t hit it off with each other. We are in different places in our lives.” “I’m a single, free-spirited individual. Emily, she is looking for someone more settled and committed to family and work.” To that effect, Joe’s “five-year-plan” seemed to be his undoing. “I said, ‘I want to be happy with no regrets’ in five years … I think she was more looking for more detail like, ‘I want to be here with these many kids.'” “I didn’t take offense. She’s determined in what she wants and she didn’t see that in me. I answered truthfully. That’s me being myself.” “I was not closed-minded about it. I want to have kids and marriage in my life one day, [but] I’ll cross that bridge when I get there.” “Whether she made the right decision is on her. After she made her mind up, I was content to move on. I was really happy with everything.” “We just didn’t click. She was very sweet, and I wish her the best.” As for who he thinks Emily Maynard’s ends up with in the end? “My money’s on Jef. He seems like a great guy, a caring individual, and he’s got some money. I’m sure that’s going to put me in a doghouse,” he said. “Arie and Sean will stick around too. And maybe Doug, the guy who got the first impression rose. They’re solid good guys, good character.” Sounds like someone’s been reading The Bachelorette spoilers … or watching the first two episodes on TV. That’s all we’ll say for now.

Nicole Scherzinger Drops Some Perky Cleavage

Here are a few shots of Nicole Scherzinger at the Brit Awards last night. I’m not exactly sure why she was invited, she’s not British or up for any awards, but I’m not in charge of party planning. I guess if she’s going to squeeze those perky breasts into a nice dress I’d let it slide. I wonder if they ask what kid of outfit these women are going to wear. Cleavage equal invite, turtleneck sweater and mom jeans equals better luck next year. Luckily Nicole made the right choice.

Emilio Rojas Links With DJ Green Lantern For His Big Break

Emilio also enlists J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League and V 12 the Hitman for his upcoming mixtape Breaking Point. By Rob Markman Emilio Rojas Photo: MTV News Don’t Sleep: Necessary Notables Mixtape: Breaking Point Real Spit: Emilio Rojas puts a lot into his lyrics. It’s that attention to detail that got him noticed by XXL in December, when the popular rap magazine launched a 50-artist poll for their upcoming 2012 Freshman cover. Though he’s a rap newcomer, the Rochester, New York, native has been grinding for years. On Thursday, Emilio will drop his fourth mixtape, Breaking Point, for free online with his mentor DJ Green Lantern. “It’s a little bit of a different sound. Less sample-based sound, a little more synthy, mid-tempo,” Emilio told Mixtape Daily of Breaking Point ‘s production. With beats from the Grammy-winning trio J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League and V 12 the Hitman, Breaking Point is shaping up to be the perfect follow-up to Rojas’ 2010 tape, Life Without Shame . While his last effort boasted appearances from Big K.R.I.T., Killer Mike, Yelawolf and Mickey Factz, Emilio chose to make BP a solo affair. “I feel like the Life Without Shame project had a lot of rap features on it and I kinda just wanted to rap on my own,” he said. Rojas did include R&B features for his hooks, but no other rapper was invited to take part in the project. The title track finds the nimble-tongued lyricist pouring his heart out with multilayered bars. When talking about his parents, he gets deep. “My daddy learned she was pregnant and he was so angered/ He tried to end it, I’m no stranger to coat hangers/ He getting livid, sittin’ in on the clinic visits… he takes it out on my mama cause, he was into hittin’/ And that’s probably the reason my sister is into women,” Emilio painfully rhymes. Not all of Breaking Point is so heavy however. On “I Got it,” Rojas explores his wild and ignorant side. “It’s gonna catch some people off guard, but it’s fun,” he teases. On “Pimpin’,” ER once again teams with J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League. At first Emilio bucked the production trio’s direction. He wanted to perform the song’s hook himself, but the League’s Rook suggested using a seasoned vocalist to sing the chorus. “Rook made me change the hook on [Pimpin’], which I wasn’t happy about,” he said, “but when the hook came in, it was good. Rook made the right call on that.” And Emilio Rojas made the right call with Breaking Point. For other artists featured in Mixtape Daily, check out Mixtape Daily Headlines . Will ‘Star Trek’ Sequel Include Khan?

Actor Simon Pegg and producer Bryan Burk talk to MTV News about the infamous villain and other details. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz J.J. Abrams and the cast of “Star Trek” Photo: Zade Rosenthal The dedicated fan following of J.J. Abrams knows that the talented writer/director is great at keeping secrets — particularly when those secrets revolve around the highly anticipated and heavily guarded “Star Trek” sequel. And while a few details have started to emerge about the 2013 release, including cast additions ( like Alice Eve ) and villain speculation, we don’t know much. When MTV News caught up with Simon Pegg and producer Bryan Burk when they were promoting “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol,” we asked what they know so far and if they’d seen or heard any official talk about Khan, the rumored fan-favorite villain. Pegg swore he doesn’t know anything about new characters that have joined the story, but he does know that his Scotty will have a particularly creative sex scene. “There is a large group sex scene with Scotty and some green chicks. That’s all I know; that’s all I’ve been told. It was a sweetener,” he joked. “That was my condition for doing the film.” While Pegg assured us that what he had read of the script is, in fact, really “good,” he knows nothing about Khan. “I haven’t heard the name Khan come up. Not to say it won’t come up, but I have heard no mention of him whatsoever,” he said. “He is a great villain. I don’t want to say too much and then have to eat my words as I often do, but we’ve seen Khan [in a ‘Trek’ movie before]. To see him again, how much value is there in that? I don’t know.” Burk was equally coy about the superhuman tyrant’s place in “Trek 2.” “There are amazing villains all throughout the ‘Star Trek’ universe as well as new villains,” he said when asked for his thoughts on whether Khan belongs in the new film. “As we did in the last film, there’s a lot of directions you can go with the film. In this case, we chose to do something we thought would be original and unique and different, and I think on paper, we made the right choice. Now we have to go shoot.” Burk also promised that the second film will pick up where things left off. “Unlike the last film, where we were restarting and setting up the characters … we’re going to jump right back in, and we don’t have to set up everybody and we can go right in it,” he explained. “We’re kind of in a mad dash at the beginning of the film. In all of our conversation, we reference a lot of our favorite films and how ‘Empire Strikes Back’ was spectacular and how they were able to pick up and keep going.” Abrams’ “Star Trek” sequel starts shooting in 3-D in January and is scheduled to be released May 17, 2013. J. Cole Says Drake Initiated ‘In The Morning’ With Text

MC talks to Mixtape Daily about Friday Night Lights collaboration: ‘It’s the perfect song for us to get on first.’ By Jayson Rodriguez J. Cole Photo: MTV News Celebrity Favorites: J. Cole The old adage is that great minds think alike, and regarding the J. Cole and Drake collabo “In the Morning,” the saying couldn’t be more true. The two young MCs finally linked up on the track from Cole’s recently released mixtape, Friday Night Lights . It happened as a result of a budding friendship between the two, despite blog fodder that the rhyme slingers don’t get along. “I got a text from Drake,” Cole told Mixtape Daily . “Now, I kind of just let people say what they say on the Internet or when they have discussions, but the real truth is me and Drake are cool, and have been cool and have been building a relationship. But he hit me when I was in Paris [on a tour], like, ‘Yo, I just heard this “In the Morning.” ‘ He had just heard it for the first time. He said it was so good that he told me some wild story, you know those exaggerated stories, like ‘I need better beats,’ just one of those type of things, giving me props.” Cole originally recorded “In the Morning” in 2007 in his bedroom, featuring three of his own verses. The track almost made one of the North Carolina rapper’s previous mixtape efforts, but he held onto it before it eventually leaked to the Web. When Drake sent him a message, however, he told the Toronto lyricist he had actually been thinking about reworking “In the Morning.” Cole said Drake responded: “Save me 16.” When Cole hit Stateside, he reached out to the song’s producers, L&X Music, and requested the file. He said he tweaked it with a breakdown and some other additions to “take it to the next level.” Drake sent Cole his verse earlier this month, Cole released the record Thursday, and was aflutter over the Roc Nation signee and the Young Money solider finally doing a song together. “The rumors of tension [between us] were so high, I thought it was cool to break the ice with that type of record,” Cole said of the slow burner. “And like [Drake] said, it’s the perfect song for us to get on first,” he added. “Because everyone is expecting ‘Brooklyn’s Finest,’ and I don’t know if it’s like that. [Drake] said it himself : We got a long time to do those records.” For other artists featured in Mixtape Daily, check out Mixtape Daily Headlines . Related Videos Mixtape Daily: J. Wiz Khalifa ‘Went Out On A Limb’ Turning Down Drake Tour

‘I figured I’d try a different method, and it ended up working for me,’ he tells MTV News of opting for his own headlining jaunt instead. By Jayson Rodriguez, with reporting by Sway Calloway Wiz Khalifa Photo: MTV News Wiz Khalifa said he went with his gut when he turned down Drake’s offer to open for him on the Light Dreams and Nightmares outing, instead embarking on his own headlining effort, the Waken Baken Tour. With only a handful of dates left and after a series of sellouts, the Pittsburgh rapper is pretty sure he made the right call, even being named MTV News’ Hottest Breakthrough MC of 2010 . “I went out on a limb and went with my gut feeling,” Wiz told MTV News. “It was risky when you go for what you know, but it’s really easy to take the hand from someone. Not saying I didn’t want it or couldn’t use it, but I figured I’d try a different method, and it ended up working for me.” Over the weekend, the “Black and Yellow” MC held court at New York’s Best Buy Theater, where he was joined by his brother in arms, Curren$y, and Big K.R.I.T. for the Hot 97-sponsored showcase. The lanky lyricist said Los Angeles and Phoenix were among the standout shows during his tour, which also featured stops in Chicago, Dallas and Atlanta. Phoenix, however, was the top moment, according to Wiz. “Honestly, it might be weird, but Phoenix, huge reaction out there,” he explained. “Every show was [great]. “It was crazy,” he added. “I felt like I was on TV when I was out there.” Do you think Wiz made the right call in skipping Drake’s tour? Chelsea Handler Topless in The Plotters of the Day

Here is an old sex scene starring Chelsea Handler in The Plotters , some movie I’ve never heard of….This clip will prove why she is a talk show host and not an actress. I am not sure what the fuck this shitty softcore porno quality awkwardness is, but it’s pretty fucking jokes….I guess her career could have gone two ways after seeing this, comedy or into hardcore porn, and I guess she made the right choice, because I don’t think she’s hot….but when the sex tape hits, I’ll be watchin’ her fuck….I’ll just make sure her obnoxious JAP voice gets put on mute… This is probably the best joke of her career…God, it is so funnehhh…

It was not to be for Patti Stanger and Andy Friedman. After announcing the sad news, Stanger Twittered, “Thank you so much for all the supportive messages, Tweets, emails and Facebook comments. It means a lot.” NOTE : Don’t forget to follow THG on Twitter and Facebook !
